As a teenager, Jake stole his dad's old EK Holden ute to drive himself and friends between parties while underage and without a license. Josh later found out via a classmate bragging about Jake's 'cool car' and told their parents, though Jake says there were no real consequences.
During a childhood bike race at their old house in Huxley, Josh (in charge of the finish line) tied a rope across it, clotheslining Jake, who retaliated by kicking Josh off his bike.
