Josh Janssen: [00:00:04] it’s the daily talk show episode 879
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:08] wakened. Banta Jess Lucas. JB. Welcome.
George Martin: [00:00:13] Thanks for having
Josh Janssen: [00:00:14] me, George. We haven't had you. You've been on a lot. You're on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. What have you got for us? Uh,
George Martin: [00:00:25] well, Yeah. The other week. Um, it's very relevant. Like a couple of weeks
Josh Janssen: [00:00:30] ago. I am used Mason's pottery story.
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:36] Cause he's got,
George Martin: [00:00:38] yeah. Have you guys ever forgotten your mask while walking around?
Josh Janssen: [00:00:43] Oh, yeah, Jess famously did it, uh, whilst FaceTiming with me and walked for about five minutes. Yeah.
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:49] But
George Martin: [00:00:50] did you, did you tell him stupid Josh?
Josh Janssen: [00:00:54] I have a thousand, so, um, yeah.
George Martin: [00:00:58] Yeah. So the other day I was, um, I was walking. I was actually going to face time you Josh.
I think I called you later. So I didn't, I should have, cause he would have told me he didn't have a mask on,
Josh Janssen: [00:01:08] but I
George Martin: [00:01:09] walked
Josh Janssen: [00:01:09] to the shops.
George Martin: [00:01:11] Said hi to the security guard at the supermarket, walked in, was walking around in the supermarket, getting my shopping. I was in there for probably like five minutes and went into the veggie section.
And this guy's like I could tell he was like sort of half standing back, maybe like a bit weed with me. And then I thought he was letting me go through. So I was like, Oh, thanks mate. Went through. He's
Josh Janssen: [00:01:31] like,
George Martin: [00:01:32] Hey, where's your mask. You've got no mask on. And I was just standing there in the middle of the shops.
It was like five o'clock in the evening.
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:39] I was just like
George Martin: [00:01:40] sheet. And I was just there just like, what do I do? I was holding my veggies and I just like pulled my jumper up above my face was grabbing some, like
Josh Janssen: [00:01:51] Katie's
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:52] out of the
Josh Janssen: [00:01:52] shit, shit, shit.
George Martin: [00:01:55] I was doing that. And I was like, Oh my God. And then I
Josh Janssen: [00:01:58] ended up with the interaction with the guy.
Was he thinking this? I think
George Martin: [00:02:01] he was pissed off. Yeah. I think he was like, Oh, one of these. Guys, he doesn't give a shit and yeah. And I was like, I always have my mask. I can't be like, I'm sorry. Sorry. I'll let you keep telling me. Yeah. I was like, I just completely didn't even notice that it wasn't on.
Josh Janssen: [00:02:16] Did you shake his hand?
Yeah.
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:20] Please take
Josh Janssen: [00:02:20] something from my hands.
George Martin: [00:02:22] Yeah. And then, so I thought on my fate and I ended up, this was the shopping bag that I was using.
Josh Janssen: [00:02:29] This is sort of
George Martin: [00:02:31] stripes kind of
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:33] as Bodhi calls it K bags,
Josh Janssen: [00:02:36] what's it kind of went to, I've never heard of it.
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:38] Calico, just have you heard of it, Kelly cruiser?
Jess Lucas: [00:02:41] Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:02:42] It's fabric very specific.
How does he know what Calico is?
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:46] Kelly Cole is a plain woven textile made from unbleached and often not fully processed cotton. How does contain well, because Amy has Calico Bay, so she mentioned the Calico and then he, he likes taking around a Calico bag full of trucks.
George Martin: [00:03:01] Oh, that's nice. Um, and so anyway, I've got this bag and I wrapped it around my face,
Josh Janssen: [00:03:08] like that good one.
Good one works quite well.
George Martin: [00:03:12] Yeah. And then I shoved it down the front of my hoodie and put my hoodie on. Actually, it looks pretty good
Josh Janssen: [00:03:19] when you think about it now, when you look back to the interaction with the security guard. Yeah, it was the security guard sort of a bit off with you.
George Martin: [00:03:26] I think so. And I think in his head he would have seen this guy, like walking, like made eye contact.
He was a bit, yeah, he wasn't looking at me normal, like usually like go on videos, kind of like sort of looking at it funny. Yeah. And I was trying to think of what he would have been thinking. He probably saw me walk in and it was like, Ugh, what do I do here? Like I can't.
Tommy Jackett: [00:03:43] Yeah. Angie masker you'd literally think, fuck, I can't be bothered having this interaction with an auntie.
Josh Janssen: [00:03:48] Yeah. You look like the kind of guy who would. Medically not be able to wear one. Like, I feel like the kind of guy that would be like, well, just like hipster, hipster vibe. I feel like you, I could imagine you having other ones I had asked me when I was a kid and it was a Spotify that caused it. But I think that you've, you've got a vibe.
You don't look like you're an arrogant guy. You don't seem like you're obnoxious. So I feel that they would have probably thought this guys. Medically required. Like you not wear a mask, you get triggered or something,
George Martin: [00:04:24] and also you can't go out. Like he couldn't come up to me and like, tap me on the shoulder.
Cause you can't touch people and headphones in. So maybe he was just like, Oh, just turn a block for
Tommy Jackett: [00:04:32] this. Always pretty collective turnaround mate. What's going on?
George Martin: [00:04:35] Oh yeah. But oily. Oh, good
Tommy Jackett: [00:04:38] touching happening in public. We ha we get a little, uh, email slide in from girl named Kylie. And she said, hi guys.
After receiving a mystery parcel of a sullen cylinder full of penis, confetti, I Googled it. And your podcast came up. I'm sorry. I'm so wondering if you manage to find out who sent them a little backstory, we got a confetti bomb delivered to our office and sure enough, inside
Josh Janssen: [00:05:08] what'd you call it a cock explosion.
Cockatoo a Dick explosion, because just didn't know what this was. You were doing. You were trying to work out what TJ was talking about. And
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:21] did she say any photos of the Dick explosion? I, cause I Googled it after and I was like,
Josh Janssen: [00:05:28] Look
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:28] at the urban dictionary. It's do you want me to give you the fucking
Josh Janssen: [00:05:32] yeah.
What's the definition of a, what did they call it?
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:37] Dick explosion.
Josh Janssen: [00:05:39] What's the website for people that want to know about as in the people, if someone wants to buy. Oh, because it was actually interesting.
George Martin: [00:05:47] Send a confetti bond.com or something like that.
Josh Janssen: [00:05:49] Okay.
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:50] Yeah, I
Josh Janssen: [00:05:51] guess
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:53] I've said just because I couldn't remember the word confetti.
I was like a Dicky explosion had all these little things in it, glitter bump. So Jess has landed on this and then just put two and two together. I'm a fucking seeker when your fucking, your checker from behind. And she lets out a nasty width
Josh Janssen: [00:06:12] all over your TIG.
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:14] Right. As you're about to, you know, They're the date.
Josh Janssen: [00:06:18] Well, I love that. That was when you filtered yourself.
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:30] was what I took out.
Josh Janssen: [00:06:34] Fine.
Jess Lucas: [00:06:35] Yeah. It doesn't make sense really, because. You'd assume that the wetness would come from the GEs and then
Josh Janssen: [00:06:43] I respect this. Yeah. You really thought about it. And so anyway, the,
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:51] so she continues and says, so I get a card to say, I have a parcel intrigued what it was. I opened it in MSI in the middle.
Of a busy local mall out fires, a stack of penis shaped confetti. Everyone was staring at me, so I make a run for it. Oh my God. So embarrassing. No idea who sent it wondering for you got to the bottom of it? Same syndrome is your PO podcast. Jason Alexander addict. I didn't understand that last bit. We did.
The only reason we worked out was because it was on the bottom of it. Like he wrote a little, you must be able to insert
Josh Janssen: [00:07:26] note. Yes. Yeah, yeah, no,
George Martin: [00:07:34] I know. I think you didn't you look up the ABN or something.
Josh Janssen: [00:07:38] Yeah. So we found out like, so we found out the details around the company that we got it sent from, but that's the proxy. That's not actually saying the person, what she's given us is saying, Hey, it's the same. It's from the same company which had obviously yeah.
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:51] I panicked at the end. Yeah. Yeah. Jay Jason Alexander. Addington WWI is where they say that the parcel is from which we looked into that. But then we worked out that inside of the canister had a little handwritten note basically saying something about grocks and it was God, it was, it was the grill wasn't any, and then he, and then he emailed for leave.
No, not for leaving
Josh Janssen: [00:08:17] Santiago,
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:18] Santiago. Yep. Yeah. He's he also has, he sent her a Dick explosion and also the most yummy cookies. What were they like? Oh, it's a fruit. It's a delicacy from, uh, South America,
Josh Janssen: [00:08:34] like, uh, Argentina. Isn't
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:36] Argentina. Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:08:38] They're like a
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:41] Africa or something. Yeah, you're right. Josh. It's like
Josh Janssen: [00:08:43] fleet for you, you know, it's like a, it's like a imagine like a.
A better, uh, wagon wheel sort of thing.
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:53] Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Hang on here.
alpha. Jordan is J O R E S. We had them in LA, right?
We had one in 'em. They sell them at whole foods,
Josh Janssen: [00:09:10] one hot chocolate
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:11] place as well. And we, we
Josh Janssen: [00:09:12] smashed them. That's right. We did too. We smashed them with whole foods. I was thinking about whole foods like the, we had a blowup about whole foods because we were having, we were in Los Angeles and were trying to work out what to eat.
And I want a Mexican food because when I'm in California or most parts of the States, I love having Mexican, but what we're doing a lot. Yes, yes. Yeah. Yeah. Richie loves he's he's Mexican food. Uh, as he mentioned, when, when we, uh, did we call him, how did we even get him off recording? Um, but, uh, no, we had, we did have some delicious.
Whole foods stuff. We would get a, um, a container and fill it up. And I was getting like this nachos black bean thing. And then we would have these peanut butter, um, breakfast shakes every morning. That was good. That was a good time. And then even though I was pissed off,
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:09] it's all based on white, it's all based on white and then they charge you.
So whatever's inside, but God, you've never seen a younger, a young kid filler thing. So high as mr. 97, walk out with a $35 box.
Josh Janssen: [00:10:23] Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, we have, they did a breakfast, they did breakfast as well. Didn't they, we, we did that.
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:31] God. Yeah. I wonder, I wonder how all that state's going in a Carver times.
Like all that sort of like a lot of those buffet. Yes.
Josh Janssen: [00:10:39] In a way it felt risky for time. I would have like a slice of pizza that you'd get like a slice. Ah, yeah, it was, um, I mean, Halloween is a good time. Like we were there Halloween. It was a good time to be there. You were saying TJ that they've canceled Halloween.
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:55] Yeah. In state of California or at least. In and around LA like Hollywood and the definitely canceled that fucking thing. We went to where there was about 200,000 people walking down the street.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:09] That's right.
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:10] That was a ginormous event.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:12] I mean, just, did you ever get into Halloween as a kid or were your parents like Matt?
Where in Australia? Yeah. That's
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:20] yeah.
George Martin: [00:11:22] Also Bendigo it's a bit dodgy.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:25] Yeah. You'd have to get a few steps in just to get some Somalis to
Jess Lucas: [00:11:30] get down the street. Yeah. No straight used to do it. Some streets did it. I remember some of my friends getting involved, but yeah, we were never allowed to it's become such a massive thing in Australia.
Hasn't it?
Josh Janssen: [00:11:41] Yeah. I mean, there was, there was, I saw a podcaster, um, Who was it? Someone had, had had a, I saw an Instagram where they had contacted John Howard in the, um, uh, I think it was the early two thousands. When was John Howard prime minister?
Tommy Jackett: [00:12:00] Yeah, imagine the 2000
George Martin: [00:12:02] something to 2007
Tommy Jackett: [00:12:05] Oh seven, three to
George Martin: [00:12:07] 2007.
Josh Janssen: [00:12:08] Pausing on the John House. Also the John Howard thing, apparently there was, there was a guy who, uh, Sent a letter to John Howard saying, Hey, like I'd love us to do, um, Halloween. And he said, get some friends together and have a crack. Just, just do it type of thing. But on the, the Kevin Oh seven thing, uh, when Brian and I were in year 11, we had a sick day on the same day, uh, which we, we rarely had sick days, but we, we, we hooked this one up so he could stay home the day that we stayed home.
Kevin rod came to our school. Oh, you backed out. So we fucked up in a big way. And then one of our friends, Georgia, uh, was sitting, sitting down as Kevin rod was walking through the school and, um, uh, Georgia was eating a Mandarin. And had Mandarin all over our hands. And then Kevin rod came over and was shaking.
Everyone's hand, shook her hand. And there's uh, when he shook her hand, there was obviously Mandarin. She said, Oh, sorry, I've just got it all on my hands. And so then he wa he goes from shaking her hand to wiping it on himself like this, and it made it on. Did he say,
George Martin: [00:13:26] did he say, don't worry. I know a lot about Mandarin.
Josh Janssen: [00:13:28] That's very
but he, no, he didn't. He, but he was on Rove live. I think, I don't know if it was a one that, do you remember what that Oh yeah, the. Remember row Rove doing that. Jess, do you remember that
he would do that, but anyway, I don't think it was on what the bit he did. He had a segment where they were sort of following the campaign or playing funny clips and our friend is in there and saying, Kevin
Yes.
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:06] That's how I knowing you're not the old office we used to have in easy street and Collingwood. Yep. I used to work. This was, I think before started the show. You might've been away, but overseas doing your trip. Usually I went in on a Saturday, get a little bit of work done. There's one Saturday too tight, fucked up will Smith will.
Smith was at our office. Prince of Bel air. Cause he was looking at this whole gallery next door
Josh Janssen: [00:14:33] hanging out. Done. Yeah,
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:35] mate. He was at the art gallery next door. I mean the other time say, do you know who we, um, ASAP Ferg is. George, you probably know ASAP Ferg,
Josh Janssen: [00:14:47] Josh, one of the boys. Yeah.
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:51] It's kind of the ISOC.
Correct? Cool. He's huge. ASAP Ferg is big, but he's no will Smith. And so I stepped Ferg was in doing the same thing. Looking next door. I saw him, but I was so annoyed that I didn't go to work that day. It was my Kevin Dunn moment. You would have gotten. Definitely. I definitely would have tried to. I definitely would have been noxious and got him in a log.
Got him in a video.
Josh Janssen: [00:15:12] It would have been black
Jess Lucas: [00:15:13] males sitting next to Kevin rod.
Josh Janssen: [00:15:15] Yeah. And I get it, but, um, I mean, that would, that's like my Jeff Jan's moment, Mike, where I got to film me, as I said, Hey everyone, I'm on a plane and I'm sitting next to Jeff. Jan's yeah, it just cuts. It's a balloon effect.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:33] I reckon that Eric and I really appreciated that.
George Martin: [00:15:37] Yeah. I mean been before like iPhones and stuff, like, yeah, you've actually got a bit of production value in your meeting.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:43] Now this kid's a flat out filmmaker.
Josh Janssen: [00:15:47] Can you hold the, can you like, and the thing is that just imagine, because I watched Jeff Jan's as a kid, that was like my favorite cooking show. I was just, I loved watching cooking shows as a kid that was like my go to also watching 'em.
I used to watch that beauty and the, uh, the beast with there stands the manic. I was a kid. Do you remember that? He ended up dying, but, um, he, uh, it was a show where it was like a talk show format and it was him in the middle. So it was like a conservative dude in the middle. And then there was like a women next to him and hit that would just, I could argue about things and you'd be like, Oh no, you're just the beauties.
Just shut up. You know? Uh, anyways, uh, different time, different time. You would have loved it, Jess, you have gotten around it. But the, um,
Jess Lucas: [00:16:36] I really feel like I wouldn't continue.
Josh Janssen: [00:16:39] It was pretty entertaining, but no, the Jeff Jones thing, I, um, I would watch that all of the time. And so sitting next to him and keeping my call for the first, like for the whole flight.
Yeah. And then mum and dad watching and knowing everything that's going on. Like. I'm sure. I was so obvious. Like I'm sure, even though I thought I was being cool, I was probably just chatting to it. Just like, no. So I only spoke to him as we started to. Um, so I think that we timed it perfectly. I think that my parents knew that this could be an absolute nightmare for Jeff sitting there.
And so I think, I don't know what happened. But I think I was so star struck by the whole thing that I was just like, yeah, because he ended up doing salmon ads. He did like a lot of stuff, um, had his own salmon potentially, but he, um, I just remember just sitting there just being like, okay, this is crazy.
I'm not going to say anything. I'm just going to be cool. And it wasn't until we started to descend and arrive to Hamilton Island. That I just, um, say, Oh, you know, could I do a video? Like I'm a fan or whatever. And then we started talking and he was there for a golf trip and I was there because, um, uh, my parents were at a rightie Ida conference.
Oh yeah. My dad was in the radio business back in the day. And, um, yeah, and I spoke about golf and he was like, we should play. Yeah, that'd be great. And, um, I didn't see him through the whole trip, but, um, I can post on Instagram. I've got a photo, none of human, a human eye, but me at the driving range of Hamilton Island.
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:20] Okay. So you actually
Josh Janssen: [00:18:22] go with him.
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:24] So what he's saying is he got the next best thing is Josh alone by himself
Josh Janssen: [00:18:28] as strong in the same area. No. Uh, what was, what was the question, JP? What'd
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:34] you do your video?
Josh Janssen: [00:18:35] The video. Yeah. So I need to sort out like, I've got heaps of tapes from when I was a kid that I need to digitize, but then I also have the CDs, which was the cheap DV.
Like it wasn't a DVD, it was a video on a CD. And the problem is, I don't know if you remember, but CD ROMs didn't hold much. Actual storage. Fuck all. Do you remember that? And do you remember like the difference between like a S a CD and an MP3 CD and some cars had MP3 CD players, which means you could fit heaps, more songs?
Yeah. Yeah. Right. Good fun,
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:15] Jess. Who's who's the most famous person you've seen in Bendigo,
Jess Lucas: [00:19:20] um, in Bendigo.
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:22] So a couple of hours outside of Melbourne,
Josh Janssen: [00:19:24] when you were saying that you'd be able to do a sign anyway.
Jess Lucas: [00:19:26] So what's
Josh Janssen: [00:19:28] that you mentioned that you IntelliJ could do assigning at one of the festivals?
Jess Lucas: [00:19:34] No, I did not about me being like second to Kate to Rouge, obviously to come out of Bendigo.
Oh, you know what, you know, boney, Maroney.
Josh Janssen: [00:19:44] No, I've
Jess Lucas: [00:19:45] got all the song brainy, Maurine rather
Josh Janssen: [00:19:49] who's it by saying it
Jess Lucas: [00:19:50] Mac. No, it's not.
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:52] It's actually,
Jess Lucas: [00:19:54] I've got a friend coat, Bernie Maroney in it, in it.
Josh Janssen: [00:19:58] You mean the toy story song? You've got a friend in me.
Jess Lucas: [00:20:01] It's like, I can't remember the God damn name. It's so annoying.
He, yeah, it's old. Um, He lives in Bendigo. We used to have John Farnham used to live, um, just on the other side of Bendigo. And so you'd drive dry his house to go to like ovary and that side of town.
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:21] Yeah. Would you ever see him? You know, there's like all Kylie Minogue leaves it around here. Do you see
Josh Janssen: [00:20:25] you.
Oh, yeah, we will.
Jess Lucas: [00:20:29] Um, Andy Lee and when he was with his ex girlfriend, Megan Gale came to Bendigo and they, I think they made the news, the newspaper as well, but everyone was like, Oh my God, Andy leaves in Bendigo.
Josh Janssen: [00:20:42] Okay. That's a good story. Not that far. I mean, the, um, the, did you ever call them ranches? Like, do people have ranches in Bendigo?
Jess Lucas: [00:20:51] No. No.
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:54] Ranch. What is that term? Ranch. It's like a, it's an American thing.
Josh Janssen: [00:20:57] Yeah. In the States, like that's a beat, you know, like the celebrities that have these rights,
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:00] right. Ranch from Spanish Rancho is an area of land, including various structures given primarily to the practice of ranching, the practice of rising grazing, livestock, such as cattle and shape.
Yeah. It's interesting. We don't use that term, I guess. It's
Josh Janssen: [00:21:17] okay. Um, I just, I just remember when you were talking about celebrities and like, you know, being younger, what about when we would go to like your Westfield's and stuff? For those big events. So I remember Bardo from pop stars at dandy Don Plaza, and it was just like filled and they just had, you know, they did that.
Um, did you guys to go to any Westfields for any sort of celeb viewing?
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:40] Not for that stuff. I remember it happening though.
Josh Janssen: [00:21:43] You would have seen something. TJ. I feel like,
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:45] well for the radio station would go, but even by then,
George Martin: [00:21:48] Sebastian would have been there
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:50] on the back, was on the back end. Like the radio stations definitely did.
It, never got the gigs of I'm actually hosting the, the good quality events. But you know, like, look at what's happened. It's like it's gone from those celebrities appearing there to tick tock stars or YouTube is doing like. Surprise things that like Logan, Paul shut down a Dubai, um, hauling tire, like a huge complex from the amount of people that came because they knew it was there.
The Genoese skins. Right.
Josh Janssen: [00:22:23] Remember those keys Manassians yeah,
Tommy Jackett: [00:22:25] they blew up and like, they had thousands of young girls going to shopping centers and just going mad. And now it's at the point like tick tock stars. It's like, I was hearing that there's a restaurant in Hollywood that is tick tock stars go there and it's known it's like a, a great steak establishment.
That's now being overrun because the tick talkers are all going there. All these like millionaire kids, bizarre.
Jess Lucas: [00:22:56] I have not even heard of
Josh Janssen: [00:22:58] those brothers. No, the general skins.
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:00] Well, a long time ago, they were like, we're doing like little rat bags doing
Jess Lucas: [00:23:08] no,
Josh Janssen: [00:23:08] not Ben,
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:09] but not even the scene. They rode the wave.
Like I did a video with them where I met them in a park. No joke. I'd met them in a park and there are a part of
I wasn't quite there, but it was close.
Josh Janssen: [00:23:24] It was real close, but I'm doing meeting in the park, like
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:28] contact with their mom. And spoke to them. I didn't know their
Josh Janssen: [00:23:32] underwriters
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:32] and got them to the car park, got into the cab. I got him to the park and we did this video. Anyway, the point being at that point, I hadn't completely, you know, got on the wave, but then they ended up moving to LA.
They were living in a, um, they were living in this house in Hollywood Hills and they did a movie movie deal. They made music, they traveled around like. England Europe. They did like a full tour. So it was like stage shows and they get thousands and thousands of people visiting, but now they don't do fuck all.
I think it's like the waves, the waves. It's no swell anymore for them.
Josh Janssen: [00:24:11] Have you seen this? I'm just trying search it. Now. There was a Netflix thing that Brian I saw last night that we put in out to watch. Category, but it's this dude, this is name Cameron something, but he's a, I'm an influencer. And it's just like one of these classic sort of documentaries where they just follow around a celebrity.
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:36] Yeah, few of them because that's who I am.
George Martin: [00:24:39] I just Googled Jeff Jans because I'm not super familiar with who he is. And the first in the,
Josh Janssen: [00:24:46] it says he is also on the cover of a rare rainforest
George Martin: [00:24:49] book known to very few. One of the last known copies was stolen and never recovered in the mid two thousands. So Jeff Jan's, how do they know that
Josh Janssen: [00:25:01] she's on, she's on a book.
George Martin: [00:25:04] And does
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:04] that Jan's what have we got
George Martin: [00:25:08] born Australian chef
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:09] now? That's you?
Jess Lucas: [00:25:10] That's you, is it chance or gem
Josh Janssen: [00:25:13] chance? J I N S Zed. Yeah, we should get our
George Martin: [00:25:19] hands on that book.
Jess Lucas: [00:25:23] Oh, yeah. Yeah,
Josh Janssen: [00:25:24] it was massive human H hewitson
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:27] ah, here a,
Josh Janssen: [00:25:29] he was big, you know, he would always even had an obsession with cleaning the plight.
I don't know if you remember that.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:35] With these, with these little labs,
Josh Janssen: [00:25:37] I always had a tea towel. It's always just like rubbing it down or whatever. It's I might yell something fucking vinegar on your teeth. That's not going to come out.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:44] It's
Josh Janssen: [00:25:45] the detail, you know, he didn't have a, he had a, a barbecue establishment for a while in South Melbourne.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:53] Did he? Yeah. Yeah. I remember it. Wasn't there was one on Fitzroy street. Did he own that one? Huey
Josh Janssen: [00:25:59] and it was called Shui. So I think he was cooking eventually laughing,
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:06] uh, just Australian
George Martin: [00:26:07] shifts. Quite funny.
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:08] Yeah, it is great. I mean, now we're the pioneers of the, uh, you know, the television chefs and sorry that I've paved the way baby.
Josh Janssen: [00:26:16] So Pete Evans. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's an entertainer. You think of Pete Evans, Jess.
Jess Lucas: [00:26:26] Oh, is that, that guy that's um, yeah, he's, he's quite controversial. Yeah. With his.
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:31] I mean, people yelling. There's Pete Evans at the supermarket when George didn't have his mask
Josh Janssen: [00:26:36] off.
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:38] Yeah, that's fine.
Jess Lucas: [00:26:39] Yeah.
George Martin: [00:26:39] I actually do search him on Instagram occasionally just to see what he's up to because he posts outrageous stuff and you can't, I think he's been like semi canceled because he doesn't
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:48] share the shadow ban.
Yeah.
George Martin: [00:26:53] Like if you're following him, I'm not following you spelling
Josh Janssen: [00:26:55] his name wrong.
George Martin: [00:26:56] You got to actually type in chef Pete Evans, not telling anyone to do this, but, um, but yeah, he is just, he's lost the plot. That guy. I like the stuff that he's
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:06] saying. It's just, it's just crazy. Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:27:09] I'm talking about shadow band.
I just remembered the, um, the documentary I watched a while. You're right there, Jess.
Jess Lucas: [00:27:17] Sorry.
Josh Janssen: [00:27:18] Do you want to get some cue
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:21] cue to wrap it up, Josh?
Josh Janssen: [00:27:24] Yeah. Yeah. This is just a good way to finish it. We'll let you you're in trouble at you. Okay. Uh, yeah, what I was just going to mention was the Enactus calc book.
There was a book that was sort of, um, made famous from Michael Moore's documentary bowling for Columbine, because they found out that the kids who shot up. Uh, the school, they read an artist cookbook and it was how to make it was bomb making basically. And, uh, the, the guy who wrote that book, uh, before he died, did a video where he's like, I regret basically writing this book, but he doesn't own the rights to the book.
So if you go on to Amazon to try and buy it, it has an, uh, a note from the author, which is saying, Hey, Oh, don't buy this book, which is quite interesting.
Jess Lucas: [00:28:15] It's interesting.
Josh Janssen: [00:28:16] So it sounds like you better.
Jess Lucas: [00:28:18] Yeah, I'm fine. Yeah. Hang on, hang on. Hang on, may and Jay Bay, Darren, get to do shows together that often, right?
It's true. And I just thought it was funny that today we are doing a show together and, um, something's happened today to my family. Well, my sister, rather that I want to share it with GB. Cause I feel like he'd appreciate
Josh Janssen: [00:28:42] it. Okay, great.
Tommy Jackett: [00:28:43] Okay. She met Jeff Jan's.
Jess Lucas: [00:28:45] I met Jeff fans. Sorry. Um, mom texted me this this morning.
I know you can't see it, but maybe we can share it.
Josh Janssen: [00:28:54] Oh, this is great. Is this in the Bendigo advertiser? I can't see it, but if this is the Bendigo she's on the front cover
Jess Lucas: [00:29:00] and she was on the news last night.
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:04] Clap that in
Josh Janssen: [00:29:05] big picture as
Jess Lucas: [00:29:05] well. Yeah. And we did that segment on hump day, um, about PR and yourself, obviously.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:12] And, and so she paid up Piedad herself.
Jess Lucas: [00:29:18] I mean, I feel like the hospital Piata
Josh Janssen: [00:29:20] she wasn't, she didn't do her own press rise.
Jess Lucas: [00:29:22] No, she was so funny on the news segment, you can see her like giggling away behind
Josh Janssen: [00:29:27] me. Is this Hannah or is this, is this Anna?
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:31] Yeah. Great. Any, any thoughts of her needing a podcast?
Does she want to do one now? Yeah.
Jess Lucas: [00:29:37] Big
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:37] time. Big time.
Jess Lucas: [00:29:40] I mean, she could talk about all the no swabs. No, he's told stories. That'd be fun.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:44] That'd be swab. Oh,
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:47] no sweat.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:49] She knows smokes.
Jess Lucas: [00:29:50] Or what about on the nose?
Josh Janssen: [00:29:52] On the nose and on the now? Yeah, I like that. Yeah. Maybe she could do a podcast where she chats for two minutes as she's doing the nose thing.
Yeah. Yeah. It's
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:59] all the banter that she has. Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:30:02] Alright. Just lift your head up here. Welcome to on the nose. Right? What about in the nose? The latest on COVID. Hmm,
Jess Lucas: [00:30:14] that's really good. I mean, unfortunately for her, she's not really out, um, you know, helping to find vaccines and that kind of thing, but I mean, she's still helping, I suppose.
Josh Janssen: [00:30:23] Yeah, that's such a sad thing to say.
so a talk show. Thank you, Jessica. Coming on a thank you. GB Humpday replay. Uh, those two are on it. Every single Wednesday. Uh, can you announce who your next guest is going to be? Yeah, sure.
George Martin: [00:30:47] Crystal Andrew is
Josh Janssen: [00:30:48] our great, good write up for that. So that'd be crystal has gone out on her own, which is very exciting.
She's doing cool stuff.
George Martin: [00:30:55] Oh yeah. I feel a little bit out of my depth because she's very smart,
Josh Janssen: [00:30:59] but you don't feel out of depth in this combo.
George Martin: [00:31:02] It's fine.
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:05] Alright, Andy Moscow, let's
Josh Janssen: [00:31:07] wrap it up. How's it going guys? Enjoy Sunday. Say tomorrow, have a good one.
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:11] See you guys.
