Daily Talk Show Episode 386 What's going on guys? What's happening
0:09
weekend Banta.
0:11
It's It's Sunday. Trying to get a bit of a chill vibe. Also, when we yell it gets to echo. We need echo in here.
0:18
Yeah, this is our second week. Amanda, welcome to the show. Bry and Amy, thanks for having us. The better halves.
0:26
Yeah, no, it's actually the little mic. Could you I was gonna pretend that l from Little Mix.
0:32
We've got a storey about little mix. So when I was working at kiss FM, me was on the straight team. It's not how we met didn't didn't start dating the girl from the straight tape. But tell me what happened.
0:46
you nervous? I'm a little bit nervous. I just had
0:48
a moment where I realised I needed to go from the straight to say hi. And he's probably remembering that as I'm saying
0:57
she doesn't know.
1:01
I me what happened with little mix?
1:04
Well, I was in there to say Tommy, he was in the locker room. I just heard you saying that on Jesus episode. So I've got the right terminology
1:12
to do a lock.com I have that domain name
1:16
and asking to get
1:19
a look and then Little Mix came in and I think they thought that I was a help. I'll help you person. So they'll kind of ride and one of them just kind of turned to me and was like, Can you get me a teaspoon for my tape and I'll sign and the producers all looked at me and they were like, please. Okay, and other girls like and I need a sugar and I was like, Okay, yeah, not on the clock that just I need a sugar place. Yeah. Or I need a sugar. I need a sugar early morning. I guess.
1:47
I had a great bit of banter with him. Welcome. He was talking about doing something we were doing some party trick in the studio. It's classic, classic radio party tricks in the studio.
1:57
Actually. That reminds me last nice. One more back here light when I was doing some editing, we went on a tangent. I think you'd left and three day deal missing 97 and I was searching FIFA angels acoustic covers that I filmed man huge film
2:15
The Ed Sheeran one Yes, that was surely get
2:18
down. Yeah, that was somewhat fast.
2:22
No, no, no.
2:26
That was really good. Now I got confused. It
2:28
also shows how supportive she is in general all the time.
2:33
So if you've just joined in this show for the first time, these lovely ladies are a significant part. This is almost our first presidential meeting of big media company. Oh yeah, that's for
2:46
the for President. We did go to
2:50
what was the place that we ate yesterday? Oh, yeah. That was that was nice and had his first wine.
2:56
That was the first day.
2:57
Yeah. First time at the winery? No, I didn't have
3:03
to pick up
3:05
anybody's first cool cough a German cake. There's a lot of a lot of firsts going on. But how we feeling about this episode?
3:16
Good. I got a bit nervous actually when you were like Alright, are you ready? 321 and I feel like I need to wait you know that feeling? I get like to try to go away. I'm holding it in feel unnatural. Speaking into market friends having a camera filming off
3:32
Yeah.
3:34
All the time. Yeah, yes. We
3:36
have done that many episodes that we It is normal. It feels very not as
3:41
had some preparation this morning. I do. Oh, she's a facial for today.
3:47
Yes, I got I did a facial and then Josh. I was then working on my laptop on the couch. Josh came in against Tommy fake
3:56
facial was often the spike in
3:58
the face mask off by this point I can remain is what have you done said I've done nothing. He's like Nori you've done something. And my face was completely red right? Yeah.
4:10
We would have had to cancel tonight. Because I feel like there's a lot of people
4:16
was very extra. But that'd be a lot of people who do that right like they're doing something that they're not used to so they go all out and it ends up backfiring what
4:25
happens if you fuck a spray tan for a night out?
4:28
I did I for my hands. I did a practice one for the wedding and thank God I didn't leave it for the wedding because I was just in
4:37
Iraq rocked up we were doing the def I should remember that we
4:40
did maybe I wasn't and the
4:43
rock that was made
4:48
that maybe you didn't maybe you weren't around that most hurtful. Now you probably see it I don't want to do it. Trying to challenge guys know
5:00
had its challenges. And you you had said yes to it early on. It wasn't my and we decided to split it 5050 the job and that was a blow up. It just took too long. So I had to say Look guys, I'm throwing in the towel. Man. You did a good job. You met some great cinematographers and stuff in the process.
5:18
We work with Sylvia Jeffreys, Dan from movie cloakroom. Anyway, you rocked up that that
5:26
day. It was very inside baseball.
5:29
It was it was you and I catch you up how
5:30
I met. Yeah, that's really good. You good? Yeah. Okay, good. We caught up
5:34
anyway. You rocked up and I remember seeing you you so tanned. Yeah. You were just outrageously tanned.
5:41
It was ridiculous. I ended up just going pasty to the wedding. Because I was like, can't risk it. That was so bad. But white makes you look tanned. Anyway. What are you wearing white?
5:54
I can remember once I go to this is not my spray tan was great. But I was wearing a dress. I hadn't already been back and think I forgot to bring unionise like cup things that you meant to wear. Don't wear a bra but you can like where are the ones that look like
6:11
she can feel it.
6:11
Is that just this silly? Nine that the gals cola? Yeah.
6:16
But that's actually a brand as well. Maybe.
6:18
But I'd forgotten and sorry, I was wearing this dress. I needed something. So Josh had some duct tape.
6:25
And I can I was just like, You know what? I just don't feel
6:29
so completely Yeah, gaffer tape across my chest. And I can remember by the end of the night off like, Yeah, she doesn't have nipples.
6:38
Completely took skin off the off the type. Like why like bands across my body?
6:48
We do weird things. When it comes to big events. I was just
6:51
like how the whole night cafe type is care about that event you don't care about off? Yeah.
6:56
The only weird thing about big events for you is you don't go.
7:00
Now I get to go to the
7:04
club, your dad's wedding?
7:08
Um, do you want to tell it
7:10
now you can tell it because I don't really remember that you were saying?
7:14
I worked at bras and things. Danny. And I don't know if you knew my manager anyway. Basically, I worked abroad and things. My dad was getting married Josh, manager.
7:29
Great manager.
7:31
Absolutely, yeah.
7:34
Yeah, so pretty much what happened is we have my dad's waiting on the weekend. And Josh came away with us. And he gave me a gift. And I opened up the gift like, which is I don't even know why he gave me a gift to my dad's wedding. But he did.
7:49
He was a red light to Eastern red lights bra. But he'd been into my work and got a consult from my manager like
7:58
Brady likes she fully has, do you find this?
8:03
than a dirty night then?
8:08
How did you feel when you opened it?
8:11
Lovely. He's got me gifted. He's really tried.
8:14
I think it takes a certain type of a man to buy laundry. For a woman. There's two things he's a big sleazebag or he's got no clue.
8:22
Yeah. Just a little bit talking and cute and I just think it was it was lovely. And he got me a gold necklace with like a little love hot and had a little diamond Jeanette right.
8:32
What happened? I went all out. Waiting, Tommy
8:37
never.
8:38
I'm sure it was a cubic metre Kenya. Definitely. Yeah. And I think that certainly cubic.
8:45
So I got you Josh. Last night to the other night to download ethical
8:49
as well or ethical.
8:51
The other night to download a sleep recorder so basically activates if there's any noise during tonight. Yes. Any which turns out
9:01
it would go crazy in our place. Because we have a lot of people like it called triple zero. Not last night. Yeah. Before. Yeah, a lot of action always happening.
9:10
The reason I asked you to do it was because I've been I'm am I quite active in my sleep.
9:16
Yes, I am. Oh, did you record last night?
9:19
No. Well, we'll get to that.
9:22
Well, so, Amy, what happened the other night?
9:26
Two nights ago? Well, two nights ago. Tommy turned his lamp on in the middle of the night. And just a touch point. What's your lamp? Is it not? It's one that you like, the physical switches on the cord
9:38
is actually an annoying spot. Like I get annoyed every time I got sick or the cords fallen down the side again. Yeah,
9:44
I've nearly dislocated the shoulder.
9:48
It's not ideal. No. So he's turned on the light in the middle of the night. And I and I didn't even open my eyes. unary how like, it's really hard to open your eyes. And I was like, Tommy, can you please turn off the lot? And he goes, No. And I said that right? Okay. But I also I've had previous experiences with Tommy's, like sleeping self and he's an asshole. So I wasn't offended because I'm like, he's asleep. I'm like, Tommy, can you please turn off the light? He's like, No, you just don't want to get up. And I was like, which is how he comes to me in the morning, but less aggressive. He's like me, can you get out of bed? We need to get out of bed. And I was like, No, I don't want to get out because it's it's not the morning yet. Can you please turn off the light? And you're like, no. And then so I was like, oh, maybe if I tried to ask him questions, he might like realise, wake up and realise it's a bit dumb. So it's like, why did you turn on the light? And you will and you couldn't answer it. You're like, Oh, I said, can you? Please turn it off? Yeah. And you will. Okay. And then you went and turned it off. And we went to sleep and it was fine. And then in the morning, I was like, Tommy, do you remember that you turn the light on now idea. But we did wake up like maybe three weeks ago, and it was just
11:05
actually only realised that as I brought up this, that I said just now just now I was just wanting to talk about your brains and I think I'm fact I think I'm turning on the whole lot in the middle of the night. I think I actually get like this one I've got a bit going on in my head.
11:20
Like I've gotta get I've
11:22
got lots on and i and i just need there's lots of things
11:25
and there's a 10 buckets, you know that it's
11:29
it's the the Barefoot works got into your
11:37
butt. Definitely This happens when I think a lot. And so, Tony on the lot. Yeah,
11:42
that's fine. You told me to download the app. And so I set it up problem being it was interfering with my audio book. So when I every time I turned on my audio book, disengage the recording, and so then
11:58
you turn it off, or is it going reveal that you've got something?
12:01
So I did like three times and then I realised
12:05
that the reveal
12:07
reveal record. baby needs this light with these audiobooks. So I
12:12
did this own shipping and radio. Not to bring up past but I was on radio. But it used to be free so it was a completely free app.
12:23
I couldn't believe this. You only get the first two hours do you think that the best bits are going to be
12:30
is the fact that they give you your form? They give it to you but it's locked off so you see all this action behind the wall you see the paywall comes on for hours you know whatever it is and then you see the bits spiked at 3am and I could listen to that five bucks
12:47
but when you be paying five bucks to hear so far
12:55
expensive fat sound but when you you don't pay per sound effect I'm guessing you don't pay per sale no you just pay a one off fee and then you can listen to as many facts unlike unlike for
13:05
version 599 but I've got a few things behind the paywall
13:09
you've definitely not paid for so you haven't paid course he hasn't
13:13
now because what annoys me is I I had it years ago and I caught some really good shit. It was just it was really funny like I was saying some weird stuff that we then played over the radio but in the app I will say the best thing about the app you can look around the world you go Argentina to start with a Argentina Australia all the eyes interface all the countries but it was when you say
13:34
all the eyes and then you seem to be stuck into
13:37
be
13:39
the interface with within the
13:41
enterprise, but it logs everyone and people put them out for you listen to this sleep talk. One of them's like Granny, can you borrow me Snapchat
13:51
trolling at that point?
13:53
It's so fucking weird. I mean, you guys missed an 87 and three day deal Yeah. You don't have partners that you sleep next to so know unless you're using it like this.
14:02
I don't know. You know, it knows that I sleep next to
14:06
partners. I'm talking to both of you so you don't partners Yeah, yeah, is that correct? Yeah, you know, you guys don't have partners so
14:13
you're not sleeping next to anyone
14:15
that's a you know bringing strangers into here.
14:16
Not presently.
14:20
Unfortunately, anyway,
14:22
and so you put your watch that was
14:24
just going to
14:26
get him What's going on? I realised
14:27
that How would you know if you sleep tokenize are you guys sleep talkers? Do you know I
14:31
am but like a person that I used to know said that I slept talk alright talking by sleep Yeah, just just sound like you're You're so loud like you need to stop Is that what you call your ex now the person I used to know
14:43
I did used to know her so yeah.
14:46
Motivation speeding motivational bars. Thinking grow rich.
14:54
Tommy once due to like, I don't know if you could call it a song. But I i re created it straight off because I was like I was sorry.
15:01
I really love you son. Yeah, we did I can do
15:06
I can do it. Yeah. notes in the middle of the night when stuff happens she's writing a quick note to I don't want to forget
15:13
but he went him him I didn't didn't didn't and I was like that's cute
15:23
That's really funny sleep. Yeah, but I really liked it. He did this he sounded
15:28
like a good thing to see him at the club
15:33
pretty pretty boring.
15:36
triple zero
15:42
Yeah, cuz he's really common situation so like if I was on the phone I could place Josh would just be like, doing it wrong. So I'm just gonna doesn't sound calm. Yeah,
15:53
I'm only calm if I'm talking.
15:56
If you're if you're in control Yeah,
15:57
all right. Let's make him not come the opposite of Tom. Brady. What's it like living with Josh?
16:04
Um, I love living with Josh he's not he's he's not the most helpful around the house. But he's a delight to live with like I look forward to coming home to him every night. That's like my favourite part of the night is having dinner with him on the couch
16:23
that's why the book has been a pain in the really hot sat with you a few jobs as in Mike. I'm always available be heard on
16:36
what happened was that Bray said
16:42
he also went to the toilet.
16:44
Oh, yeah, I went to the toilet.
16:46
She couldn't hear me
16:52
knowing it's in the recording now and I deleted
16:56
because it's obviously not.
16:59
Streaming my stream
17:03
is quite noisy. Because when you when it's silent. You hear the fountain pen and all we can hear a little bit. Everything picks up. Yeah. I mean, I mean, what do you think? What is it like?
17:13
you're entertaining to live with as well.
17:15
Okay, that's good. I'm trying to think what about
17:19
I watch a lot of YouTube on the TV, which is a lot of YouTube any
17:22
listen to an audiobook every night before he goes to sleep.
17:26
In the room that I mentioned that I said, this was Bry doing?
17:30
Sometimes I'm listening all the time. So I'll just put my earphones in. And just
17:35
just started listening to john with airports. But
17:40
I've seen the movie so I'm on the bandwagon now.
17:45
I'm doing it too. We just saw a bunch of ice pitches. Just come out about john
17:51
McQueen.
17:52
Yeah, literally. Yes.
17:56
yesterday that,
18:00
that that that concept of a film sounds like a joke. No.
18:04
idea. Beatles on around. Yeah, no, it's great. So glad we went back in time, right or something? isn't present day in the Beatles don't exist. But he remembers all the Beatles songs and he just starts singing the Rockies. People like oh my god, what's that song? He's like, what do you mean the Beatles?
18:22
Yeah, like what? Who? The Beatles? Are you just retelling the trialogue?
18:31
Thinking about it?
18:32
Yeah. It's an interesting concept. It's like when I was a kid, I was obsessed with having a pill. And to be honest, in 2019, I would have assumed we would have had a pill already. That we would take that would take a slim, but didn't involve amphetamines, washing your hands. Go what is Tommy like to live with?
18:52
And he's, he's great.
18:57
And he's how you got share chose? Don't think we do but I will say that. It's probably like 6040 4060 sometimes 70 sometimes it No, you're you're 60 and Tommy's
19:11
Tommy's Instagram is more him 62 is it anytime he's cutting anything happy straightaway get us on? Because
19:25
you are doing some short, so that's
19:26
why I made the washing, Bodie, Bodie or a meal meal, prepping some reason I'm feeling
19:33
really good with recording moments with body and I feel like I get like an urge to every now and then because I'm like, Oh, I don't want to forget this. And I don't want to miss this. But normally, like, I'm just, I'm there and I and I'm with Bodie, and I'm like, oh, if I kind of bring like a camera up here. Is it gonna ruin?
19:52
Oh, yeah. You think about it, but if you can, yeah, without thinking about it. I mean, that's why I reckon I've stopped documenting is my so I used to,
20:01
well, you've gotten I mean, we've got a podcast
20:04
as a way to increase the hours but I have it's not been about me as much like as in me personally holding up the camera, which I think it should, but you can be brutal. I think. I mean, what we've, what we've we've worked at a structure where I end up doing a bunch of specific chores and so to you so it's like we've we've moved into our who cleans the toilet, me?
20:26
Who does the washing
20:27
me? washing out? I do a lot of washing up.
20:30
I know, but we share that.
20:32
Okay, No, I meant washing laundry. Washing. Okay, so you've been unlucky so far because of us too.
20:39
Because you started up Yeah,
20:40
yeah. Can you name one thing that you do? Like
20:51
vacuuming?
20:54
I do the kitchen.
20:56
Like it's not. It's not like you're vacuuming? If I can make two bedroom apartment.
21:04
I definitely do that. More More.
21:09
The things I recommend more around. I'm trying to cook.
21:21
We do it's like soup.
21:22
I'm trying to I'm trying to think no coffee. I would always make the coffee.
21:26
Yeah, but even I've learned how to make that
21:29
all the time.
21:31
No, the I mean, the entertainment thing I think is a good point.
21:38
I mean, no one's remit remembering the guy who just vacuum the carpet.
21:42
Everyone do that though. Not many. These it's a it's a commodity. It's a commodity right now but there is a thing. Most of my things around personal responsibilities. So just getting better at putting my towel away things like
21:56
yeah, in terms of Yeah.
22:04
But he'll be in the shower like he went and get himself a new talent.
22:11
You're selling that short because it's not because it's always when I'm in the shower that I realised I don't wanna use that towel again. Remember yesterday it was just we spoke about tangible yes as well. So this is a very heavy weekend right?
22:24
is there is there any corrections that you'd like to make on things we sound this podcast? Oh my
22:29
gosh all the time.
22:34
Yes, there's a couple of things I'm trying to I have terrible
22:37
morning Yeah, I won't be able to remember anything but I not say otherwise.
22:43
In the moment I feel like I call you a lot I stopped doing it so much but because I'm listening to all the back catalogue of your stuff if I noticed something like I'll call you and be like Tommy you said this but that's not actually accurate. There's lots that you that you said like about Bible college or about different things that like pop of my life that I was like way off
23:02
is a hyperbolic about it like is he didn't even know what that means. Easy extreme. Does he does he over?
23:10
Yeah, express what's in
23:12
there was one part where he was talking about because I've got like the tinnitus ringing you might notice Yeah. And I think it is a probably right. And there wasn't a correct that was
23:23
back to you know, that wasn't me correcting. I wasn't No, that was me just being that. I mean, I call it
23:35
can you find f is tinnitus or tinnitus because tinnitus doesn't even sound like sounds like tonight is calling
23:43
it that for a while. And then I got corrected a few times. I'm like tinnitus. Like, I just thought it sounded dumb. And that's why, like, I'm now correcting you because I've been corrected so many times. But I could be wrong. Anyway.
23:56
Let us know what
23:57
Tommy was saying. was like, Oh, he's got this ringing in is and you will be asking all these questions. And he was answering them why off you will like us like that high pitched and he was like, not like low just boom, and all that not high pitch. Like everything that you asked. I was like, yep, yep. And Tommy was like, not not like that at all.
24:15
And he's probably pretty confident about
24:18
it, Nick. It's not a bad thing to be to be confident, I guess. But yeah, I
24:30
said, that's more that's something we've said then the Bible College stuff. Let's talk about that. There was what if I feel like I'm even, even yesterday, you were mentioning Josh about Bible college. And it was more around when I met you. You said you four years out of Bible College. I said you were like, a few years out from
24:49
Yeah, I would have probably been with Yeah, that long out. But I guess you were you were saying, Oh, yeah, she kind of she wasn't going to church. She wasn't doing all the but also kind of still a little bit. But what would
25:03
what do you think the misconception that people who aren't into church or don't go to church? What is the misconception? And what is the accurate cliche that you like that you played into in regards to that sort of culture in that part of your life? You go to Bible College, you end up with a strip up.
25:21
They told me
25:25
that but you know, you like
25:29
I'm sure I've heard that. People who go to
25:33
certain schools or whatever, they can be super religious, they can then go the other way. And be super sort of out there. And I don't know what you say. Just
25:44
say it. What are
25:45
you trying to say? I don't know. I know
25:46
what just just bad reputation.
25:48
Is that in the song that I talked about that Oh, no. That's just can't get with singing? No, it just like paper know what you mean? Yeah. So so they like people who
25:57
were like a perceived to be like the good Shelton, show to the
26:03
the ones that are doing crazy shit.
26:05
Yeah, that can happen. I think. I think maybe those people who are just trying their best to follow the rules and to do everything right, and to tick all the boxes and to try to I guess, earn their goodness, rather than being like, Oh, this is something that I really believe in that I'm excited about, and that I want to learn more about, can maybe get more burnt out and then just be like, all right.
26:34
And so when you were in Bali, and Jules took off, TJ Sandy. Oh, yeah, yeah. And so what's the what's in your head at that point?
26:43
It was funny, because
26:51
it was funny, because I, they were they were all talking to me. There was some comments about like, I mean, you should say it.
27:01
Yeah. Let's not say Who said that? Because that
27:04
now, but I'll tell you later.
27:05
Yeah. What does it What does that all mean? What was that interaction?
27:08
I don't know. I just feel like the people. They wouldn't want to be seen as the people that are saying that to a girl that I've never met before.
27:19
Gemma and Corona bottle.
27:21
Yeah, yeah.
27:23
Listen to yesterday's episode.
27:27
I think they would have thought that I was just a five minute situation moment in time. And like, nothing that they would have said would have been,
27:38
yeah, anything. Was it any of those times? It's like, you know, someone gets a girlfriend and someone says something bad about Islam. She's fucking annoying. They end up getting married. It's like there's a high chance. That is actually not a high chance. For a lot of people that have multiple girlfriends across the time. You know, I think yeah, it's, it's something, something to watch. You probably shouldn't ever, you know, say something bad about a girl someone's dating because they could marry them.
28:07
And so what was that? What was that evening like when you first met?
28:11
It was it was really interesting. I remember hearing like, all of these comments and people being like, Oh, I think someone came up to me was I got with him. He hasn't. He hasn't had any action for a while. And maybe I'm like this good Christian girl. I don't know. I didn't know how to communicate. And I didn't think that it was that I should I just I think that was just a bit. I let a lot of things slide and go because I was having a lot of cocktails and I was just enjoying it. But
28:42
even that staff communicating even someone saying that to you. It sounds hot. Sounds not nice for me now. But in them when you're a potato head and everyone's back and paste. We've had 70 kookaburra cocktail,
28:56
just thinking like doesn't feel as
28:59
doesn't feel as sex pasty
29:01
as someone saying that.
29:04
said that. The first thing Yeah, yeah. And I think I think that I was just thinking, when everyone's saying this. Oh, I will remember I was laughing in my head and going, man, If you only knew, like, If you only knew how much of a good girl I was
29:20
really?
29:23
where that was coming from, you
29:26
know, but I think how many of your friends had were saving themselves for marriage? Like how many people
29:31
did you end up hooking up?
29:33
We hope that Avon. Yeah.
29:34
I'm, like most of them.
29:40
That's where it's like, yeah, I didn't do that.
29:43
Well, the interesting thing. I mean to that, you've been consistent, though. It's like you don't do that. And it wasn't a random hookup because you ended up marrying. Yeah, yeah. That's interesting. But I think it's pretty
29:53
lucky right? Like I think the person you decide not that we're talking about having sex we didn't have sex that night. But if I the person that you do go home with like, we went back to our place
30:06
literally hundred percent like hands on hot when he was like, Oh, we could we could go out like clubbing or we could like go back to my place. clubbing No, you didn't but all right. And then
30:20
what's the next? I wouldn't want to go to a club. Just clubbing?
30:23
No, but I think you were trying to make it sound appealing because I was like, you guys are all gonna like, God, it was like, I don't want to do that. Do you want to just come back to my nose? I literally
30:42
thought we're gonna go back and watch movies because that's all I'd ever done going back to people's houses.
30:47
And so when I saw him and he had his
30:50
I mean what I mean Well, yeah, we go on
30:53
you have no idea monkeys a chilli zero. And I remember like, all of a sudden, we were in his room and things were no as I thought that they would be and I was like
31:20
would never say it wasn't my wife referring to this as my base. Anyway, it's stupid.
31:25
But he called me
31:29
he said like it's it's it's it's fascinating existence. To be To be honest, I had the opposite experience upbringing, aka,
31:39
no had the opposite. Just quickly that that evening experience, what do you like? That was Amy's.
31:45
I fell in love with it.
31:46
It was dating pretty much straight away after that. And then that was not in my mind. like three months later, maybe. But Tommy kept on kind of. He called me a long distance. Yeah. And he called me up the first time. I think I found this hat. I thought it might be yours. And I was like, in it was a grain cap. In my head. I'm like you just Chronicle. And I actually only found out by listening to this podcast that he knew it wasn't mine.
32:19
And he had a new you had people like from the radio.
32:23
Like if it's a flex as well.
32:27
as a whole. It's a mushers.
32:31
But it was. It was there. I'm pretty sure was Jesse Martin, who was staying each day to now run this sailing. Go side around the world. So 17 year old kid.
32:44
Yeah. Arista, whose dad is part of two times you was there as well.
32:50
No, not not. Not this one. No, but
32:54
yeah, so the jet was in Adelaide. I thought
32:59
it was that was actually quite a complex joke, which is why I didn't land.
33:05
Yeah, so. But it's amazing how things turn out. It's like those silly things. This is a lesson for you, Mr. 97. Sometimes you gotta act on that silly thought, like, how can I call this girl and have some kind of in doesn't really matter what the needs. Because if I mean, this probably stupid. This is what comes back to that comes up on a podcast. But how you that first interaction, you just got to make it. And so if I didn't, we wouldn't have birdie. There's a lot in hindsight that you then can be thankful for. But it's amazing. It's crazy.
33:45
Tommy's a really big romantic actually.
33:49
He hides it in front of everyone. But like one of the sweetest things that he ever said. And then I want to get on to you guys and how you met.
34:05
feeling like
34:08
I had signalling to Mr. 97.
34:13
But he said to me just randomly one time, we were just driving in the car, and he put his hand on my knee and said, I haven't stopped thinking about you. There hasn't been a day that I haven't thought about you since the day we met.
34:26
Oh, that's nice. That's true. Right? Yeah. look as if the guy though, when you meet the person you love, you will never go day without thinking of them again,
34:40
it's like a dry. It's like I was completely obsessed with brain.
34:52
I think I think you dial it back. And all sort of dives into probably the appropriate levels. Or you don't have to chat like it's she she lives. We live together now.
35:04
It's a good point, because the honeymoon phase and the relationship is definitely a real thing. But
35:11
the moon phase that she wasn't even coming to the honeymoon was just to give
35:19
us 11 years
35:19
12 it's 12 years this year. Yeah. So we we were friends to start with. And he liked me. Yes.
35:28
And I asked her out three times. And she said no, every time and then.
35:33
Yeah, there was a point where I think you were pretty much like, you don't know if you could be my friend.
35:39
Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was because
35:41
she had a lot of boyfriends and things like that. So it wasn't like I didn't like him. I was a bit like,
35:47
Oh, I don't know what was mainly because she said I'm not feeling like I want a boyfriend right now. And then two weeks later, she had a boyfriend. And the thing was that it wasn't
35:57
a boyfriend
36:00
Jordan um, he was a hairdresser.
36:04
And he and I remember that Bry would talk to me about her dates the first day
36:17
Yeah, yeah. Anyway, um
36:27
he's moved on from that.
36:31
I don't know maybe subconsciously my feelings for you. Would be and maybe that
36:37
headdress is comforting. Fix it, you fucking idiot. It's a dermatologist. Not a hairdresser.
36:49
Having
36:52
honest and which I don't even have which is the funny bit
36:56
which we're gonna have a reveal event.
36:58
Yeah, we should be.
37:00
Even when I was on antibiotics for it. They test for it. They just he looked at it and said that looks like
37:06
that's even Dr. IV.
37:09
But it looks very similar. Anyway. So dating wise.
37:13
No, Bry the procedure?
37:17
Yeah, you did? Yeah. I did. I did. I used to come to remember used to come every Sunday, I worked at a store called fashion Atlassian genuine
37:25
Plaza, after or before before, my friend but was this before or after browsing, browsing things before?
37:32
things. So it was it was a massive upgrade. He used to come every Sunday and bring me lunch and sit with me at work.
37:38
Give me a 20 Yeah. And I would spend it on both of our lunches.
37:43
Obama GIFs I remember once I asked him to go get me a notebook. I was I gave him money for it.
37:49
I can't remember I was probably rushing. I'm
37:53
not I'm sorry. He went out and he came back and he had my money give me my money back and he was like I couldn't find the right book that you want it but I got your perfume. It was like a good cheap
38:10
definitely remember those
38:10
underwear? I love bond.
38:21
Devin positive brand as well. Very good name over impassioned. Do you remember Mikiko pants? No. No. That was
38:32
a funny one. sayings we're talking about during the way he's like the origin of the same me from Sydney grew up there this morning. The car
38:41
he says scallops?
38:42
Potatoes Scala? Yeah, they use commas instead of potato Titanic. They pathetic x man don't give them the money.
38:49
The scallops is a
38:51
fancy but this is not even that. That's just a word used in different state, which is the thing. But would you think that someone from Sydney would understand the two scaredy cat from Ballarat, which was something that we used in primary school. A reference to Ballarat, can you look it up? skinny cat from Ballarat. We're sorry, yes, kitty cat or copy cat from Ballarat.
39:11
Yeah, the cat from Ballarat was a copy cat. scaredy cat from
39:18
from Ballarat kitty cat familiar. I remember kids saying in the in the playground, and Ballarat is somewhere three to deal with. We took you to Ballarat if we were up there. Gold Rush town. Yeah, I didn't hundreds it was it was a thriving metropolis of gold. Debbie found out where it comes from.
39:39
And just looking it up now copy cat from Ballarat. Anything on it? Yeah, there's one there's one sort of forum posts on it. Essential kids calm today. This is good.
39:50
Anyway, I just thought that was interesting that a Sydney solid a saying had made its way up. So in Sydney, they say they say it. Really? That's cool. But I asked Tommy Did you ever know about her? It was no one knew about
40:03
her. So things that we say different? Like we call I don't know. Do you call them juice boxes? What do you call poppers? Yeah, he called them
40:11
pretty famous. Yeah. Famous. We call them poppers.
40:15
Famous the brand?
40:16
Yeah. And Papa, what's papa?
40:19
Papa?
40:22
party poppers. I think maybe you can like you can blow him up through the straw. And then you can like, Ah,
40:27
yeah, that was a big thing. You do it in the locker by whatever. I would never do it. very noisy. Just quickly on the how brain I ended up getting together. After three times of asking Bry she said no each time. I think one of them was the ninth of December that I asked ninth or 10th was around Melbourne his birthday, which I think was the 11th of December. Is that correct?
40:52
Just to give him sure that he was completely out of the fruity Bry.
40:58
Yes. You know, sure. Yeah. went to school with it. Yeah, lovely.
41:06
Let's not talk about
41:09
anyone else.
41:12
What do you mean? It's about my ex by?
41:17
Tony bad. He's 12 year old girl.
41:25
Now 2728 so it's not funny anymore. Is it?
41:31
wonder she's still
41:34
very jealous.
41:37
I wonder. I wonder if there are any situations where people like getting jealous of an ex. When it was at the high school level? I probably use me. Oh, yeah.
41:50
I was so jealous when we first got together about
41:53
high school exes.
41:55
Yeah, remember, I've had it. I
41:57
had never slept with anyone. he end up how I was like, I didn't know how to like deal with that.
42:07
Two testicles, sort of.
42:11
So that was that was a struggle. I felt like I felt like it was I felt like it was happening current day, even though it was like in the past. Yeah.
42:21
Yes. It's a lot to handle.
42:23
Yeah. got over it. Now. We can talk about any of your exes. If you'll do you think that though? Yeah. Do you think
42:30
it's a nice place for us to bring this out? But at least a piece of work that you've done? Yeah. To get good with doing electrically
42:36
hot on it to be fair,
42:38
did you get rid of the voodoo dolls? Are they still?
42:43
Yeah. Was it I've been thinking about the
42:48
I met some of them. Yeah. Yeah.
42:51
But you know, the
42:58
I don't even know what, especially when you got together? Oh, embarrassingly, like, I was 25. So I showed
43:07
in like to not be so great. like jello.
43:10
No, but I think that's a part of your upbringing. If you haven't been around people, and you probably thought I'll probably be with somebody who is a Christian that.
43:21
That's nice. I'll take it. But I was thinking about
43:24
women. And the this the sexes, co inhabiting and being friends, right. And I think about being in a relationship, and your partner, worrying about exes and stuff, which can contribute to sort of shutting you out some people from your life. And I was thinking, not much more than that.
43:52
What do you think, Amy?
43:53
But I think and yeah, shut the fuck up.
43:57
It was a good thoughts data.
43:58
Yes. What was that a frame off?
44:00
Yeah, I haven't. I don't know if this is going to be like my final thought. But I guess we've been wrapped up
44:07
into final thought that was gone so quickly. It's real fast.
44:09
But yeah, you like it between us,
44:12
I think. I think that you, between the two of you, you kind of work out what you want your relationship to look like. And you you work on that together. And so you want to make sure that your partner feels as supported and safe as possible. But at the same time, you don't want to be doing things that are like, true. Really? Yeah. And but also really damaging to your own life. So for instance, if if Tommy, I don't know, if you're if one of your exes was like really close with your family, and if I couldn't handle that, but you will like this is how it's going to be. That might be something where you would have this I mean,
44:53
this was my thought now I've got there, okay. Worrying about. There's a lot of women, they're worried about partner, you know, other partners and exes. And in the women rights women worrying about women, or it could be men worrying about men, but I was worried about dividing the sexes even more. Yeah. Where it's like we can be inclusive, right? Yeah. And so anyway, it's something we all deal with boys, you'll deal with this Mr. 97 through the deal at some point, when you just old thoughts been in relationships for ages talking about together so long?
45:26
At this stage, like we barely have taught like with, with body like we barely have time for, like, our family and friends, actual friends like, and the podcast is what you say. You can say. I'm the gronk. But yeah, that's not really. I don't know, there's not really much time to include in
45:47
other people at this stage. Yeah.
45:50
Yeah, we're not open to friends at the moment.
46:02
We've been around because we get to pick up Bodie, because we'll be accused of
46:06
and I've got to go and do all the chores and stuff.
46:11
Yes, like I have moments of getting better with it. And so what he's asking, because I know him so well. He wants you to kind of now say,
46:18
but Josh is fine.
46:22
That's fine.
46:25
He doesn't do much around the house, but I love him. Okay. Well,
46:32
that's what I wanted to hear.
46:40
As long as you gain better,
46:42
you are getting better.
46:45
And you're washing.
46:48
Why didn't you learn how to use a dishwasher the other day? Thank you.
46:57
You can teach an old dog new tricks. Yeah,
46:59
it was interesting. I'd the dishwasher.
47:01
It's got to come. It's one of those like,
47:09
thinking about it. Washing is something that I we don't do our washing that much. Because I've got merino wool, I can actually get out of it. The thing is, I actually do that a lot. That's one thing that I'm not good at the day to day grind aside, I just I can do it. And that's why I think you could have meal prep,
47:29
Seth Godin.
47:31
Last month, you actually haven't I've done you. I
47:32
mean, to be fair, I only picked up Seth Godin about a week and a half ago. So that's not an excuse, right? It's a daily talk show. This is a weekend banter. Yeah. If you've listened this far, screengrab shared on Instagram, Instagram storeys. You can also find Amy and Bry on Instagram, if you just type in Amy or Brianna, in our who were following. I think they're the unknown. Yeah, why not? Yeah, I'm gonna do it anyway. They were already halfway through it was trying to see if there's any photos at Potato Head.
48:05
People looking at if there's any photos of Brady's dad's wedding.
48:10
We'll see you tomorrow, guys.
