Gemma Watts Pete Shepherd Scooter Derek 1000 Minute Live Stream

0:000:00

This week we’re celebrating the best bits from our 1000 minute live stream.

At a glance

From this episode’s transcript.

  • –Episode 1000 was marked with a 16-hour live stream featuring a rotating cast of guests arriving roughly hourly.
  • –The show's archive (maintained by producer George/'Mr 97') was used throughout to pull up old clips, including Peter Shepherd's first appearance and the 'Bad Pork Roll' and lost-voice episodes.
  • –Hosts acknowledged they used to swear far more on the podcast in earlier years and consciously dialed it back.
  • –There's a long-running, good-natured dispute over who first suggested the '1000 Minutes' podcast concept, with Peter Shepherd, Josh, and Tommy all claiming credit at different points.
  • –Guest Peter Shepherd credits the show's unscripted, daily format (versus heavily produced podcasts) with helping his mental health during lockdown by feeling like 'catching up' with friends.

Questions this episode answers

Why is a Daily Talk Show episode called 'Bad Pork Roll'?

According to Tommy and Josh's on-air recollection in this episode, the name apparently came from Tommy eating a bad pork roll, though Tommy admits he suspects the real reason for his mood that day was being upset about a cancelled trip to Bali rather than just the food.

Who came up with the '1000 Minutes' podcast idea for The Daily Talk Show?

It's disputed on air: Peter Shepherd claims he suggested '1000 minutes' during a brainstorm about milestone episode ideas, while Josh also claims to have said it; archive audio is pulled up mid-episode to try to settle the credit.

How did The Daily Talk Show celebrate its 1,000th episode?

They ran a 16-hour live stream from their Abbotsford studio/garage, with guests rotating through roughly hourly, constant Uber Eats deliveries, mini-golf putting challenges, archive-clip throwbacks, and games like 90s jingle recall.

Tommy: It's a very low barrier to get into the Gronk Squad.

0:05

Josh: That's crazy! We've committed to do the Daily Talk Show for 10 years.

0:10

Peter: Hi guys. Hi guys.

0:11

Josh: Put it in the calendar. I'd just like to cheque the temperature in the room. I told you my squeegee story.

0:16

Tommy: It is outrageous.

0:17

Josh: Come on, let's go. Uh, what's, what's going on, Pete? Tell us.

0:22

Peter: Not much, I've just come from home.

0:25

Derek: Yeah.

0:25

Peter: Stopped at a cafe, had a little long black just to fuel myself to make sure I've got you another long black coming. You guys where you're at. Oh great, I'll have another one.

0:32

Josh: Yeah, it's perfect. Oh lovely.

0:33

Peter: How long have we been going?

0:35

Josh: Uh, we've only been going for 2 hours.

0:36

Tommy: I can tell you how long we have left because I've got the countdown timer. Yeah, yeah, 14 hours and 47 minutes.

0:43

Josh: Oh, we've got another Uber Eats order.

0:44

Derek: Doorbell just rang.

0:45

Josh: Here we go. Okay, so this is— it's all very hectic. This is all— it's all happening. No warm-up. JB's got the camera.

0:53

Derek: JB.

0:53

Tommy: Oh yeah, and, um, feel free to send Uber Eats orders.

0:55

Peter: 8 Ferguson Street, Abbotsford, right?

0:58

Tommy: It's whatever.

0:59

Peter: Almond croissant, manuel bagel, give us something.

1:02

Derek: Oh, g'day mate, thank you. Would you like to putt for a cup? We've got a putting green in there. You good?

1:08

Peter: No, fair enough.

1:10

Derek: Okay, you've got to do an order. Okay, thank you. See you, mate.

1:12

Tommy: See ya.

1:13

Josh: Alrighty, perfect.

1:14

Tommy: That's great, that was great.

1:15

Peter: I was hoping to be the first guest. Scoot, you beat me to it.

1:17

Tommy: No, you are the first guest in the hot seat. Scooter was just on the couch.

1:20

Josh: So what we're thinking is just riding shotgun for the whole 16 hours.

1:24

Tommy: Well, Harry was on the seat too. Harry too.

1:27

Josh: So there's—

1:28

Tommy: I messaged Scooter yesterday to say, mate, are you coming in? Because I hadn't heard from you. I got worried, mate. And then you're like, maybe. He's like, just maybe.

1:37

Josh: No time to be flaky here. We've got a 6-day job.

1:40

Derek: I've always had commitment problems.

1:41

Josh: We've got coffee from Oh My Espresso. Who's done this?

1:48

Peter: This is coffee on Uber Eats.

1:50

Josh: This is— I think it's Larry. Is this Larry? Lawrence.

1:53

Derek: Lawrence.

1:53

Tommy: Yeah, it's just AU79.

1:55

Josh: No, no, no, I think—

1:56

Derek: oh, is it from AU?

1:57

Josh: No, Lawrence A. Fuck, it's hard to know.

2:00

Derek: Hang on.

2:01

Josh: Oh, well, it's my— oh my espresso. That's your Larry?

2:06

Derek: No, maybe.

2:07

Josh: I think it could be 741.

2:10

Tommy: Larry, I was connecting.

2:11

Derek: I was—

2:11

Peter: thank you.

2:12

Josh: Yeah, yeah, I think it's your Larry.

2:14

Tommy: We need— is there a way to put messages on the bags? No, you can't.

2:18

Josh: I don't think we have, uh One, we've got 4 specialty coffees. Wow. One cup. Awkward for the 5th of us. A coffee, one flat white, one oat milk. Ooh, this is good. Hang on. I feel like you're the coffee guy. Can you bring this to TJ?

2:34

Tommy: If we just hand them out.

2:35

Josh: TJ's better at it.

2:36

Tommy: Do you have any lactose intolerant?

2:39

Peter: I do.

2:40

Tommy: You do?

2:40

Josh: Okay, so you're not yourself.

2:41

Peter: Anything but lactose is good with me.

2:43

Josh: Yeah. Sorry, Scoot, did I keep that on you?

2:45

Derek: I was feeling so awkward.

2:46

Josh: I was like, I had an itchy nose.

2:48

Derek: I was like, wait, it's not on.

2:49

Peter: What are the other options?

2:52

Josh: Options.

2:52

Tommy: Um, choice, uh, not sure.

2:55

Josh: I'll have this.

2:56

Tommy: Maybe there's another one.

2:59

Peter: No, there's a note. I did just finish it.

3:00

Tommy: Three-quarter.

3:01

Josh: Oh great.

3:02

Peter: Scoot, do you want one? Because there's 4 coffees, 5 of us.

3:05

Tommy: Whatever. Oh, they're all— yeah, here's another oat.

3:07

Peter: They're all the same, are they? Yep, everything's—

3:10

Josh: well, Jess is getting me a coffee now. Do you want to have this? Why have this? This is still going.

3:14

Tommy: Okay, this is great.

3:15

Josh: We're gonna be firing.

3:17

Peter: You know what, I literally just finished 4 seconds ago.

3:19

Josh: I haven't had a coffee yet today. This is my first coffee.

3:21

Tommy: I haven't had oat milk. In a— from a café.

3:24

Peter: I've never had it.

3:24

Tommy: I don't know if I've ever ordered it.

3:26

Peter: Ever.

3:27

Tommy: No.

3:27

Peter: This is big.

3:28

Tommy: Macadamia milk.

3:29

Peter: Is that what—?

3:30

Derek: No, no.

3:30

Tommy: There's like— They're getting real hip. This was becoming popular when we were in Los Angeles. Yeah.

3:36

Peter: Feels very California, doesn't it? I'll have an oat milk latte, please.

3:40

Derek: Anything you can smash and it turns white when you smash it, somehow they turn it into milk.

3:45

Josh: Oh, yum. What's another example? Marble milk?

3:48

Peter: Rice? That's delicious.

3:49

Josh: Rice milk, yeah.

3:51

Peter: Keep going, Scoot.

3:53

Derek: Oh my God, come on, mate.

3:55

Peter: Exactly.

3:57

Tommy: Chickpea? No, cow.

4:00

Derek: We were— I don't think they smashed the cows.

4:01

Josh: We were actually talking about, um, delicious, uh, soy just the other day. And Scooter, you've been doing soy before it was cool, and it's not cool anymore, is it?

4:12

Derek: No, not really. Was it ever? I wasn't doing it to be cool because it was really really painful drinking soy in share houses in the '80s, '90s. Is that right? It was painful. It was the same price as it is now.

4:27

Josh: Really?

4:28

Derek: Back then it was 40 cents a liter, you know.

4:31

Peter: And what was the— do you like the taste? Is there a dietary requirement to this?

4:34

Derek: I thought I'd give up dairy for a while back then in the '80s. And what happens is your asshole flatmates—

4:40

Josh: I think you said your asshole. That's what I tend to— your asshole gets quite soft. Is that the different colour that we make?

4:46

Tommy: That's what I thought too.

4:47

Derek: Exactly the same.

4:50

Josh: No, your asshole housemate.

4:51

Derek: Yeah, so housemates, what they'll do is they'll bag you about your pansy soy thing and go, yuck, it's horrible, there's something wrong with you. Then they'll run out of milk because that's what they do, and then they'll use it straight into your milk. They'll use it with their breakfast cereal and then finish your $3 a litre milk, which is like the equivalent now of about $30. Maybe not that much. And then they'd, as soon as that ran out, then they'd go and buy some cow's milk. So it was a hell of a time. It's bullshit.

5:24

Peter: That's tough, Scooter. I'm glad you made it through.

5:26

Derek: I want to tell Pete, can I just, just before I go quiet, I want to tell Pete my big achievement because he's my coach. Oh, and I haven't had any coaching since last time we were in this room.

5:37

Peter: How did it go, by the way?

5:38

Josh: How's the last 12 months been for you?

5:46

Derek: Your words resound in my head. I always ask myself the questions. But I got to the footy for my son's footy game, under-13s.

5:56

Peter: Where are we? What's the location? Northcote Cougars.

5:58

Derek: Northcote Cougars, nice. At McDonald's Park. Yep. Not with a D, second D. And—

6:05

Josh: Sorry, I don't know what you're saying there.

6:07

Derek: The coffee machine was broken and I was in big trouble. Because it was like 11 in the morning. I ordered Uber Eats and then, and then they said, can you be the goal umpire? Yep. So I actually got Uber Eats delivered to the golf square, and I thought that was maybe a first. I'm not sure.

6:27

Peter: So just at the north end of the McDonald's Reserve.

6:29

Josh: I have wondered this about, um, uh, golf, if it's frowned upon to get Uber Eats delivered to like, say 7th hole of Albert Park.

6:40

Peter: Well, you'd have to time it, like you'd have to be halfway through the 6th hole when you ordered. Yeah, it'd be quite an effort.

6:45

Tommy: Car park. Yeah, you could have your Maccas waiting for you.

6:49

Peter: Maybe at the 9th or the 18th when you're back at the club.

6:52

Josh: Oh, that's a good way to time it. I feel like, because pro shops, that's one thing. I mean, Scoot, um, I feel like you're the guy— Scooter got the— so there's these, um, golf balls, the Titleist V1s. They're sort of the balls that changed changed the game, right? Lots of spin. Yeah. Scoot. Scoot hasn't— yeah, Scoot hasn't been— hasn't played in a very long time. You can lose balls, like when you start playing again, you can lose balls. Can't— you will. Yeah, goes to the pro shop, gets himself some V1s. Titleist Pro.

7:21

Peter: Some Titleist.

7:22

Tommy: Yeah, you're pretty safe with the way he was teeing off.

7:24

Josh: It wasn't going far. No, no, it was actually what you want. Yeah.

7:29

Derek: Have you seen the one video Yeah, I've seen the one video.

7:33

Josh: That wasn't teeing off, that was the 5-wood, I think. From the tee? No, it was from the fairway.

7:38

Peter: From the fairway. More coffee. Great. Just what we need.

7:41

Josh: Thank you, Jess. Thank you.

7:43

Tommy: Hey, Jess. I'm just going to create a line of coffee. Olivia in the chat has said slow down on the coffee, Gronks. Yes. Don't go too hard.

7:51

Josh: It's a good— This is— Yeah.

7:53

Tommy: That's a piece of wisdom from an 18-year-old.

7:54

Peter: Well, you've got a 16-hour stint ahead of you. We've had 3 coffees already. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

7:58

Tommy: 14 hours.

7:58

Josh: How much longer do we— No, we've only got 14 hours. No, we're fine.

8:01

Peter: This is me. Wait, so what's happened? Jess has just delivered a long black.

8:04

Josh: Yeah. So, yeah.

8:04

Peter: Well, as my oat milk latte.

8:06

Tommy: Yeah. So, you've got a selection. And I just finished a long black, too.

8:09

Josh: A selection. Thank you, Jess.

8:11

Peter: What could possibly go wrong?

8:12

Derek: While we're talking about coffee, should we go back to Pete's first ever time on the show?

8:17

Josh: Let's do it. Yeah.

8:18

Derek: Alright. Ready?

8:19

Tommy: Yeah. Yeah. We've got a guest coming on the podcast and what we're doing is checking to see if he can tell the difference between a 7-Eleven long black And a long black from a great cafe.

8:34

Josh: Episode 107. Wow. The Daily Talk Show.

8:37

Tommy: Our special guest today, Peter Sheppard. All right, sit that.

8:40

Peter: This is for the hipsters of Melbourne.

8:41

Josh: Yeah, exactly. Yes, we don't know what one it is. It's a white cup.

8:46

Peter: Okay, how does it taste?

8:47

Derek: Take that back.

8:48

Josh: It tastes quite good actually.

8:50

Tommy: Okay, okay, so this is another one, second cup.

8:56

Josh: Okay, so Peter has drunk both of the long blacks.

9:01

Tommy: Which one was better, number, the first one or the second one?

9:04

Peter: I wanna say the first one tasted better. Yeah. And I think that's because the second one is the 7-Eleven coffee. Is that correct?

9:12

Josh: Oh, this is controversial. You got it wrong.

9:18

Tommy: Yes. Yes.

9:19

Peter: Geez, we look young, don't we?

9:20

Tommy: I know. And we've been stitching up people that we've just met for the first time for many years. Lovely to meet you guys. Yeah, that's a great way to be appreciated. Was that really the first time?

9:28

Josh: It was, wasn't it? I think it was. Was it? Yeah.

9:31

Tommy: No, it was. George, I mean, the archivist doesn't get it wrong. He doesn't lie.

9:34

Derek: I think so. It could have been the second, actually.

9:37

Josh: It could have been the second. He's on fire.

9:39

Derek: Yeah, I'm not sure.

9:39

Josh: I mean, Scooter, what's the advice or the questions that Pete has asked previously that stuck with you?

9:49

Derek: Well, you know how just before I was saying every day I ask, your voice goes— Well, I might have been bluffing a little bit. But he did say there was, there was some questions like, why?

10:03

Derek: Who's it for?

10:04

Derek: Who's it for? Is the one that I go around every day. And when I, this morning, when I decided to go double denim, I was like, who's it for? It's for me.

10:13

Josh: That's who it's for. Express yourself, Stuart.

10:15

Peter: Get that double denim on. It's beautiful.

10:17

Josh: Whatever I want. Whatever's lying on the bedroom floor. Can we actually, one thing, because Pete wasn't here when you arrived. He didn't get to see you walk through the door. How about we play some Al Monte and you show— you double down for the first time. Can you, can you walk through again, please? Good. Okay. All right, here we go. All right, so get up, get up. I was waiting for the camera. Oh yeah, yeah, there you go.

10:42

Tommy: Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

10:43

Josh: Okay, here we go. All right, ready?

10:46

Peter: All right, this is what happened this morning.

10:47

Tommy: And, and will this be an entrance-off between Gemma Watts and Pete and Scooter Derek? Looking forward to it.

10:53

Josh: Right.

10:55

Tommy: And okay, model engine.

11:03

Josh: Here he comes. He's nailed that, he's nailed that. Yeah, very good, man. Al Monte, we haven't played, we haven't played since, uh, since we were like doing the livestreams.

11:24

Peter: Yeah, I remember messaging you guys after being on one of those days in lockdown. Yeah.

11:28

Tommy: And you were like, what's the name of that song?

11:29

Josh: The greatest track ever.

11:30

Tommy: The greatest.

11:31

Josh: And you never sent it to me. I mean, so I don't have it. So I asked you, GB, I said, could we get the guy, the DJ, the guy who composed that song? Can we get him on? And it turns out that you'd already tried to do that for Hump Day.

11:44

Derek: Yeah, me and Mason already tried to get him on Hump Day.

11:47

Tommy: Any response?

11:48

Derek: No, no response. And he's got like hardly any profile. I went on, I found his LinkedIn, one mutual connection, Mason Lauder. And, and yeah, he's a young kid. He's like from the UK. His name's Luke Melville.

12:03

Tommy: And does he live in the UK?

12:04

Derek: Has he got Insta? Luke? I don't know. But he didn't—

12:06

Josh: So you didn't go too deep.

12:09

Derek: Yeah. And interestingly, El Monte, not on Artlist anymore. Oh, really?

12:13

Tommy: It's gone. Wow.

12:15

Derek: I don't know what that means for licensing.

12:16

Tommy: No, they do do that. Like they do take tracks down. Yeah. But if you've—

12:21

Derek: Which means we've got it, so we're not going to see it on Instagram every second day.

12:23

Tommy: That's good. It's ours. Maybe people realise that.

12:26

Josh: Maybe this is the Daily Talk Show.

12:28

Tommy: Trying to sell a bloody, you know, fucking can of sparkling. They're like, that's the Daily Talk Show.

12:33

Josh: Don't rip that off. I mean, isn't it crazy to think? So, when we started the podcast— Happy 1,000, by the way. Oh, thanks. Thank you.

12:41

Peter: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

12:43

Josh: Glad to be here. Yeah. Sorry. No, it's just like you guys, you didn't have a podcast. At the time. True. Scooter, did you— you didn't have a podcast either.

12:53

Peter: You did your first—

12:54

Josh: I don't know. No, he did. He had a, um, it was an Instagram show.

12:59

Tommy: Oh, Instagram show. But you also, you had a podcasting studio.

13:02

Josh: I was doing What Now? Wasn't I? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that— no, sorry, was it— I don't even know if you were doing What Now? at that point. You were doing Aussie Vinyl. Yeah, Aussie Vinyl Show. Aussie Vinyl Show in the hammocks. I wonder if you— and then, right, I mean, What Now? was great. What Now? Was one of the only podcasts I listened to when I travelled Europe and it was all Scooter talking about the news.

13:25

Peter: Oh, nice.

13:25

Derek: But you'd be commenting on how good the audio quality was.

13:28

Josh: It would be. He uses a condenser mic. Yeah, it was real like, could hear, you could almost hear the soy milk in his lips. The gristle of his beard. You could actually hear it. But in a good way. You could hear the crumbs navigating their way through his beard. In a good way. Yeah, great.

13:44

Derek: In a good way. That microphone picked up everything.

13:48

Tommy: That's, that's his, um, I'm sensing a story.

13:53

Josh: Yeah. Is that all you got, Scooter? Um, no, so long and the short of it, yeah, how many episodes? Like, you've done over 600— sorry, over 100 now.

14:02

Peter: Yeah, I think we're almost at 140. We're coming up on 3 years of once a week. That'll be October. So yeah, we'd be 135-ish, 140. But that's wild to think about. I mean, I remember where I was in New York in an Airbnb on Third Avenue when I got an email from you, perfect stranger. Yeah. Saying you'd seen me on the Seth Godin livestream the day before. Check out a couple of these episodes. We'd love to have you on. One of them was with Craig Harper, who I'd never really heard of. And I remember listening to that episode, just being like, wow, these guys swear a lot, but it's really good. And I think that was around the time maybe you guys decided to dial back the swearing.

14:40

Josh: I think that we did. Yeah, we definitely talked about it. Yeah. Well, don't you think, like, I notice even listening to the montage that GB created, we were swearing way more in the montage than we do now. Yeah. Like, I think we used to just use it like, ah, you know, fucking, um, what else? It was a connecting fucking word. Yeah, yeah, fucking connecting word.

14:59

Tommy: Yeah, yeah.

14:59

Josh: But there was also, I'm trying to think, there was, I'm trying I can't think of the episode that I sent you. It was like, it was a dodgy roll or something. There was a dodgy pork roll. Yeah. Pork roll. Pork roll.

15:14

Tommy: George, can you pull up some of the bad pork roll? Just, can you randomly play a bit? The audio only. For 20 seconds and see how many swear words we say in 20 seconds.

15:23

Peter: I was walking the streets of New York listening to you guys thinking, do I want to be on this podcast? Yeah, they seem like good guys, but geez, they swear a lot.

15:30

Josh: That's kind of funny.

15:31

Tommy: Well, no, the bad one. Look at you now, mate. Look at me now. Lucky you came on. No, we're lucky we fucking had you on. Not at all. So fortunate.

15:39

Josh: It's funny how with the podcast, with the episodes, you really stick to, like, things stick in your mind. Like, I remember, so the bad pork roll episode. Yeah, I can connect it. Like, I can connect that day so well. TJ, can you remember?

15:53

Tommy: I can't remember what we did.

15:54

Josh: So that was at my place in Abbotsford. We'd gone, we'd been in Vic Park and you were meant to be going to Bali, decided not to go to Bali. You were pissed. You were a bit fucking pissed off. And I remember we went up and did the episode and my thinking was I was like, I'm not feeling that good either. I don't think TJ is feeling that good. I'm going to talk about how shit I am with the hope that you talk about how shit you were. And I think that I ended up just talking about how shit I was and you didn't mention it. But do you have the audio?

16:29

Derek: I've just picked a random section, 45 seconds.

16:33

Tommy: Okay, here we go. I'm gonna ding every time someone swears.

16:35

Josh: Okay, go for it. Grinding internally.

16:38

Tommy: I think that's it. Yeah. I went to a females in business or female, some summit. Women in business. Is that the one in Queensland? Private event. Yeah. Pretty expensive tickets per head. There was 100. Corporate women there, and I was— I got an invite to film. Yeah. So, you know, I wasn't there just to hang out, but mate, um, Kevin Rudd's wife was talking. Yeah. Please, please, someone. And, um, Gayle Kelly, CEO of Westpac, one of the 7th most powerful women. Yeah. Um, and a couple of other business owners that are killing it and doing— they're saying exactly what you— they were describing what you said.

17:23

Josh: Yeah. I want to hear it.

17:30

Tommy: Which, it sounds crazy, but it's— we've talked about humans wanting struggle and it being this thing, a survival is like we, we need the struggle to survive because it keeps us going.

17:42

Josh: And I think the upsetting part of it is things feel self-inflicted as well. Yeah, I think that when you work for yourself, anytime that you're not like— I think that what I struggle with—

17:53

Peter: no, a bit disappointing.

17:54

Josh: I know. What's the deal with, um, do you know why it was called Bad Pork Roll? Role to me.

17:59

Derek: Um, I'll just—

18:02

Peter: I remember really appreciating that episode though as I was walking because it was the first, one of the first times I'd heard people, I guess Australians in particular, that also were trying to figure this whole freelance entrepreneur kind of journey out. They were about the same age as me and we're talking very honestly about like the hard parts. Yeah, I remember being like, oh, that's, that's cool that these people exist. And you were in Collingwood, so it was like you were just around the corner from Yeah, that was a crazy bit. Yeah. Yeah. I was living in Collingwood.

18:28

Derek: Do you know about the— No idea. Because the show notes just says the creative process is hard. Combine it with business and you have the perfect recipe for potential overthinking and burnout. Josh asks Tommy some big life questions on this episode.

18:41

Tommy: Have we got a transcription of that? You can command effort. We need the word pork roll.

18:46

Josh: Yeah. Yeah. Or roll. Okay.

18:48

Derek: I found it. Yeah. Okay. Here we go. Give me one sec. All right. Um, God, George is good.

18:52

Tommy: Look at this. Look at the archive.

18:53

Josh: Look at him go.

18:54

Tommy: Can you make sure you put his mic on the— like he's in the archivist's room?

18:57

Josh: You want to be doing it? Oh yeah, hang on.

19:01

Derek: So Pete, I'm just ducking into the cupboard now just to find this little bit. So I'm trying to figure out why it's called bad pork roll.

19:10

Josh: Can you come out of the cupboard for a second?

19:12

Derek: Okay, I'm coming.

19:13

Josh: All right, I'm back. It's good gear, it's good gear, it's good gear. Oh, there he is! Did you find it?

19:21

Tommy: Bad pork roll. But was that really what it was?

19:25

Josh: If I'd known that, we could have called the podcast Ep Spitty Pork Roll. How pissed off would Michelle have been if it's like, you called the episode Bad Pork Roll? It's like it was either that or Spitty Pork Roll.

19:35

Tommy: No, but I did. I felt bad and I still feel flat today because I think it was probably something more than just bad pork roll. Yeah, but I am— That'll be today's episode.

19:46

Josh: We'll call it Bad Pork Roll.

19:48

Tommy: I've been talking to the girl who comes in, does work experience with me. Yeah, 16. She was on the podcast. We talk about it and it sort of, you know, she's left. We're done. Done.

20:02

Derek: You must have eaten something bad and it's a bad pork roll.

20:04

Tommy: I ate a bad pork roll.

20:05

Josh: It's just funny how mundane, like, we've always talked about the same mundane shit, isn't it?

20:11

Tommy: Yeah.

20:12

Josh: One of our first guests was your work experience kid. Oh, can we pull that up? We did, we did an episode. Yeah, she was like a 16-year-old Instagram account Like a, sorry, 16-year-old with Instagram.

20:23

Tommy: But she was really good at motion graphics. And there's a real subculture on Instagram, all these social platforms of young kids taking like TV series that are popping and then doing these little montages of clips from the TV show with these little graphics and like twisting. It's like quite cute little editing. George would appreciate it. They build huge accounts. They build like— some of them have got like $100,000. She had, I think, $15,000 or something back. Yeah, years ago. Wow. For doing this. You're running hot.

21:01

Peter: You're a running hot kind of guy.

21:02

Josh: I always run hot. I've been having a lot of cold showers lately. That's as a way of trying— well, it's meant to like regulate your temperature. Yeah, you know, like you're the shit. Is the coldest about like 4 AM.

21:17

Tommy: Yeah, well, you've been asleep for— you should be in a deep sleep then. Yeah. So your heart rate would be right down, so your body temperature's dropped a bit.

21:24

Josh: Anyway, we don't have to talk about that too much.

21:27

Tommy: You know women run at a hotter temperature, body temperature, than men? Which is sort of weird because—

21:32

Josh: Who's here? Oh no, sorry, sorry, sorry.

21:34

Derek: I need to find a better bit.

21:36

Tommy: Oh, it's Amy and Bodhi coming to say hi.

21:40

Josh: I haven't seen Bodhi. Can Bodhi have a part?

21:42

Derek: No, you take the mic down.

21:43

Tommy: Yeah, yeah, he can have a part. I haven't seen Bodhi in a couple of days. Because I didn't go home. Yes, I didn't go home till late yesterday and he was asleep.

21:50

Derek: And so this is big. Yeah. Okay, here we go.

21:52

Peter: This will be lovely. We get to watch down he goes with the mic.

21:56

Josh: Tommy only sees his family on the show.

21:59

Tommy: As long as there's evidence, guys.

22:01

Peter: Oh, that's right. I have a family.

22:02

Josh: JB, you rolling? You're gonna— here we go.

22:06

Peter: Feeling very wired, by the way, with all this coffee.

22:08

Josh: Yeah, that's great. I thought you meant with all the cameras.

22:11

Tommy: This is going to be the cutest thing ever. Watch this.

22:14

Peter: I was pretty cute when I was—

22:15

Josh: he's freaked out.

22:17

Tommy: Come here, give Daddy a cuddle. No, say— do you want to say hi to the team? Say hi, Joshy. Hi, Joshy. Hi, Bodhi.

22:30

Josh: And you've got GB as well.

22:31

Tommy: You put these— can you hear— can you hear Josh?

22:33

Josh: Hi, Amos. Uh, hey, Bodhi. Now, do you want to, um, putt for a cup? Yeah. Okay, perfect. So, um, TJ, don't screw with the rules. It's as far back as everyone else.

22:48

Tommy: Okay, so this is your putter. Come over here, sweetheart. I was joking. And then you can go closer. No, you can go here. And then what you do is further back than that.

22:58

Peter: I want a little—

22:59

Tommy: I want a Tiger Woods on my head. Okay, Bubba, all you do is this and you hit the ball with that. Okay, any, any last thoughts? What are you thinking?

23:10

Josh: Why there's lights in here? Yeah, it's all— it looks cool, doesn't it?

23:15

Tommy: What do you like about the garage?

23:19

Gemma: Um, it's cool. I get a racket.

23:22

Tommy: Okay, okay, so you got to hit it towards the cup, okay darling? Down here, hit it towards here. All right, here we go guys. Oh, good one! Okay, hang on, keep going.

23:31

Josh: Close.

23:32

Peter: He gets a few, I reckon.

23:33

Tommy: Here we go. Oh, do you know what? He's left-handed. Oh no. Okay, let's go again, darling. Try and hit it into the cup. Here we go, here we go. Oh, nearly. One more. Here we go, last one. Come on. Here we go, Beau.

23:49

Peter: Good technique.

23:49

Tommy: And oh, hang on, go again, go again. See if you can get into the hole. Turn it like that. And now—

23:55

Gemma: I don't want to do it.

23:57

Tommy: Oh, he wants to do it by himself. Oh, you did it, bubba!

24:02

Peter: Hole in one!

24:07

Tommy: Do you want to say anything else? Do you want to say hi to any of your friends at daycare?

24:20

Josh: Do you want to say hi to Pete? Hey, buddy. Hey, mate.

24:24

Peter: Great putting.

24:28

Tommy: All right, Bobo, thanks, man. You can have a cup. Perfect.

24:33

Derek: I hadn't given him one yet.

24:34

Josh: Okay, yeah, great. So you're gonna come upstairs on the couch? You can sit next to Scoot.

24:43

Tommy: Oh, Amy's gonna come back. Love you. All right, well done. See you, bubba. Oh, he's trying— he's stealing his tennis ball. Uh-oh. I mean, uh, uh, golf ball. Golf ball. All right. This is always the hardest bit. He's sorting that out. Oh, George, can I leave you here and just sort this out?

25:06

Josh: Thanks, mate.

25:07

Peter: He's going again. Left to his own devices. Here we go. Oh, good work.

25:15

Tommy: Love you, Bodie. Love you. Bye, Daddy. Bye, George. Love you. Bye, guys.

25:25

Derek: Big hug, guys. Big hug. Beautiful.

25:27

Josh: It's very cute. Good coverage.

25:33

Peter: Is that iPhones?

25:33

Josh: How are you? Are you well? I'm good.

25:38

Derek: Come upstairs.

25:45

Peter: Hey, Birdie!

25:46

Josh: What happened to the chin? Oh yeah, he had a little knock. He's getting some, um, he's getting some M&Ms. Is he? Howdy! Bye!

26:00

Derek: Very good.

26:03

Peter: Looking good.

26:06

Josh: I look very similar. Bye! See ya! Bye! Well done, well done, George, on the coverage there.

26:20

Tommy: They went quite seamlessly.

26:23

Josh: Just be cool.

26:25

Tommy: You never know. You never know. Kids can be like, you know, fired up. Yeah. Angry.

26:31

Peter: Yeah. Is he 3 now?

26:33

Josh: 4. 4. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Um, GB, would we be able to play the, um, the clip of me being, uh, Bodhi's dad for the day? Oh, that's great. Do you have that? She's attempting the archives.

26:48

Derek: Can I play off YouTube though? No. Uh, where was that? I was going to play something before.

26:51

Tommy: You could rip it. You could rip it. Uh, no, you risk it. It is mine.

26:55

Derek: I know, but like, just for, for the bandwidth, you can, you can just like—

26:59

Josh: I'll sue the shit out of you if you do that. Yeah, no, you could download because it's, it would slow enough for the internet that it won't fuck the network.

27:06

Derek: Clip converter?

27:07

Josh: Yeah, yeah, use one of those. One of those. Getting bogged down into the, uh, really in the nitty-gritty, aren't we?

27:13

Derek: How are you, Pete?

27:13

Peter: How's your life? Not too bad, not too bad. Just, just got back from— I spent Easter in Perth.

27:20

Tommy: Nice.

27:21

Peter: Got on a plane for the first time in 18 months, which was pretty cool.

27:23

Josh: What was the vibe like? It was great, actually.

27:26

Peter: I never wore masks on the plane, but that's fine.

27:28

Tommy: Are you a pretzels— uh, sorry, a, um, what do you call them? I forgot the name again.

27:33

Josh: George Pringles.

27:34

Tommy: Pringles on a plane guy?

27:35

Peter: No, no. Is that, is that something that I've missed?

27:38

Josh: I don't know.

27:38

Tommy: George seems to like to pack a pack of things.

27:41

Derek: It's a plane, plane chip, aeroplane chip. Oh yeah, not plain.

27:47

Tommy: It's a P-L-A-I-N-E. I would assume there's issues though with the air and it popping. Maybe it isn't that. That's why they sell them.

27:59

Peter: Well, it's sealed. So, maybe there's— Yeah.

28:00

Tommy: Because have you ever been to the snow and taken chips and then gone to see them and the packets out here? Do you know who would hate something?

28:09

Josh: Scooter, you've definitely got shit to say about this.

28:12

Tommy: Chip packets expanding because of the atmosphere, like the—

28:16

Derek: What do you call it?

28:17

Derek: And for so many years, I thought people talk about pressurised cabins, right? So aeroplanes have pressurised cabins, right? So that— so it's a separate air system to the outside.

28:30

Josh: But sorry, oh, I've got another— another— look, he's just— he's hanging it on there.

28:37

Tommy: Oh my God, that's gonna fall off! Get it quickly, George!

28:41

Josh: This is great. It's gonna fall. An Uber Eats.

28:43

Peter: Outrageous.

28:44

Tommy: Sorry, can I just say that cup is stuck with No, that's a map.

28:50

Josh: Good strong tape.

28:52

Derek: He's got another delivery. Thank you.

28:54

Tommy: They do what you said. Yeah. Okay, we got more. This is, this is outrageous.

29:02

Peter: This is more coffee. Jess is— look what we need as well. Oh, there's Jess with the barbecue.

29:05

Josh: You gotta fire up that camera.

29:07

Tommy: Cameras there. That camera actually was— is always set up on Jess because we like to know that she's working. We're micromanaging Jess. No, no, there's about 70 cameras different setup around the place.

29:16

Josh: All right, here we go. We've got another delivery. Do you want to— Scottish delivery. Scottish.

29:23

Peter: Yeah, yeah, this has got Scoot written all over it. Yeah, can you open it?

29:26

Josh: What is it? Unboxing. So good.

29:30

Tommy: Awesome. Ferguson Street, Abbotsford, 3061.

29:37

Peter: Little hash brown would be nice.

29:38

Josh: 73067.

29:39

Tommy: 3067. Oh, here we go.

29:41

Derek: Will a hash brown would be nice?

29:42

Peter: I said hash brown would be nice.

29:44

Derek: What about 4 hash browns?

29:47

Josh: I love hash browns. You break your diet?

29:51

Tommy: Josh said you're one of the, um, like strictest, like, on your diet.

29:58

Josh: Not in a crazy way, in a psychotic way.

30:02

Tommy: I mean, I'm about to eat hash brown. Georgie boy, you want a hashie?

30:06

Derek: Uh, is there one for you? Oh, beautiful.

30:09

Tommy: I mean, Derek's already had a hashi this morning. You have a hashi?

30:14

Peter: Do we know who sent this? No. Shout out whoever did, this is delicious.

30:17

Josh: Who sent 4 hash browns? Please let us know in the chat. Yeah, what's the name on it?

30:21

Derek: It doesn't— didn't say.

30:23

Josh: Scoot. Scoot. No, nothing.

30:25

Tommy: Oh, there's something coming for Bodhi. No hash browns. Charles said there's something coming for Bodhi. That's cute. Maybe it was that. Buddy will— I'll see him later, Charles. Sorry, Charles. He will get it, don't you worry.

30:39

Josh: He'll get a— if it's a hash browns, it's— surely it's not the hash browns. Um, as a list though, if— yeah, yeah, it would have— I mean, McDonald's is very close. Pete, talk to me. As someone who has listened to the show as well as being, uh, a regular Gronk, do you have any highlight moments that don't involve you or that your favourite guests.

31:01

Derek: Only moments that involve me.

31:04

Tommy: Guys, I connected with you because you're all narcissists.

31:07

Josh: Yeah, exactly. That is a Jemma Watts answer if ever there was one.

31:11

Peter: I just thought I'd change it up.

31:12

Josh: It's a bit anti—

31:13

Peter: Nah, you're funny. Out of character. I— what are my favourite moments?

31:16

Tommy: And not my brand by any means. That is not me. My favorite—

31:21

Peter: I have this random— a few memories come to mind. The whole series of events of when Josh was travelling through Europe. And you'd continue to show up in all sorts of random environments. And I remember you, TJ, would talk about, all right, I'm sitting in the car, it's 5:30 AM, you know, I'm like, I'm at the Brighton, you know, beach or something like that. And I could visualise where you were in the car because you weren't doing video.

31:43

Josh: Dude, I was right near your place.

31:45

Tommy: Yeah, that's what I thought. There was one morning there was a tractor rolling past and I got a photo of the tractor and we put it on Insta.

31:52

Peter: So I guess that was less about the particular content in that moment, but just the— I just remember that that as like a— talk about dedication to the content. I don't know where you are in Europe. I'm trying to picture where you are, like near some castle or castle.

32:05

Josh: Job of explaining.

32:06

Peter: Yeah, but I didn't know the places you were, whereas, you know, I didn't know it.

32:10

Josh: Yeah, I was just there for the ride.

32:11

Tommy: But I was also thinking there would be a clip of saying, where are you? Like, I'm not sure.

32:15

Josh: I'm on an island. I'm on an island.

32:17

Tommy: Fucking awesome.

32:19

Josh: Oh, sorry, do you want me to— I can mute you. Sorry, uh, GB's just, uh, looking for some clips right now. The archivist. What are you looking at, GB?

32:28

Derek: So this is one of those episodes. This is great. Uh, from episode 140. Yeah, it's actually called Our First On-Air Vomit. Okay, let's go. Oh, that's—

32:37

Tommy: so that's— I remember this. That's from— I— yeah, yeah, I remember this. Uh, it was at the end of All the Isles, but I was very resourceful because I was— I thought on my feet, and there was— I was at the—

32:51

Josh: at paper towel aisle.

32:53

Tommy: No, no, basically there was a whole wall. I'm not even funny. And garbage bags. So I ripped open the garbage bags and the tissues.

33:00

Peter: Fucking awesome.

33:02

Josh: And then wait, so this was on the shelf type of deal?

33:05

Tommy: It was all on the shelf and I just ripped it open. I didn't give a shit. I was like, I need to use this. This is full on. What did they say? Nothing. They didn't even say anything. And I ripped off the barcode of the, um, tissues, so I stole those. I was just so fed up. And, um, and now I've got Tommy Jacket.

33:23

Josh: So do you reckon you're gonna go to the shop and there's just gonna be a, you know, like we see at IGA at Abbotsford where they've got the— what am I saying— the, um, security camera pics? It's like this guy, it's funny, and it's a photo of Bodhi as well for vomiting and stealing. I'd tell him again. I sound sick there too. Have you got something to drink?

33:45

Tommy: Can I just tell you what happened in that? Yeah. Give some context.

33:48

Peter: That was brutal. I remember listening to that.

33:50

Tommy: So, Bodhi projectile vomited in his pram all over himself. And it was like it— No, it wasn't projectile. It was like this. And it was just bubbling. But so much, the poor little fella must have been so sick. Some kind of stomach bug. And then I got it. And that's why I was sick in the episode.

34:06

Peter: You ran to the bathroom halfway through the episode.

34:09

Tommy: Yeah, man. That was—

34:10

Peter: That and the other one, which is probably still one of my favourite clips of all time, was when you lost your voice.

34:17

Josh: Oh my God. And you kept showing up.

34:20

Derek: Hi guys, here we are on the Daily Talk Show.

34:23

Peter: I thought that was absolutely brilliant. I remember having tears streaming down my eyes listening to that. You just kept trying to show up.

34:31

Josh: I'll be able to find that.

34:34

Peter: Yeah, yeah.

34:35

Gemma: I mean, because you play that a lot.

34:35

Josh: Yeah, that's just in the favorites. Yeah, it's interesting. Like the experience of listening. I think what I like about even 3D Dill's got a podcast called The Process. The format of doing something daily. Yeah, it's a different— like, I think it lowers the barrier enough. Yeah. That you can just tune in whenever. And it does. It hits some sort of need for me anyway as a listener, like listening to say— Well, does it strip back perfection?

35:04

Tommy: And because a lot of people craft an episode to be perfect.

35:09

Peter: Yeah, like a perfectly scripted Gimlet Media podcast. Yeah, it's something in— I mean, I've had periods, to your point, where like I've gone a couple of weeks without listening and then I'll listen religiously for the next month. And I think especially last year, I'm sure you found this with your listenership, but there was something in the isolation and the like, we're not really seeing any friends, or it was quite good to just tune in and be like, oh, I wonder what's TJ and JJ wrapped up, like, it actually felt like I was catching up with you in a way. Yeah, yeah. Which was like quite helpful for my mental health, honestly. Yeah. To be able to cheque in with you guys on where you're at just by listening to a podcast and knowing that it's not going to be, to your point, this like heavily scripted, thought-provoking— no offense— like conversation every single time, because we all listen to a lot of those podcasts already. Sometimes it's just good to hear two people throwing up on air.

35:54

Tommy: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

35:56

Derek: I found it. Got it. So yeah, we're talking about commitment and showing up every day. Of course we are.

36:02

Josh: Here we go. It's a daily talk show episode 150. Tommy Jacket.

36:10

Tommy: I don't want to make emphysema jokes because they're not funny, but you sound so— wow.

36:16

Josh: What, what, what is going on? Well, the last time we spoke on Friday, I think that I was sort of saying that I was getting a bit of a man flu. Yeah. And, um, I think this is peak man flu right now.

36:33

Tommy: You see, I said before, you sound like you're 2 years old. It's this weird— it always sounds like a different person. It's amazing.

36:40

Peter: Yeah, I like it.

36:41

Josh: You can see me, you can testify that it is. In fact, I actually sound like— there's a comedian, I don't know his name, but he's got a podcast called the Little Dum Dum Club, which is really strange. Anyway, uh, Carl Chandler. Is that— can we call— can you call— I know it's probably too hard to grab their audience.

37:10

Tommy: You're a fan of the Dum Dum Club?

37:12

Josh: Yeah, to the sound of it. I don't listen to them that much.

37:14

Tommy: So you don't hate the Dum Dum Club? No, I don't hate them.

37:17

Derek: Just a fun fact, I was actually standing in front of Carl at the COVID line.

37:20

Josh: That's right. Yeah, that is a good fact.

37:22

Peter: Oh geez, that's good.

37:22

Derek: That gets me every time.

37:24

Peter: Time that night. It was unbelievable. And you did a good job of holding it together, TJ. Like, I just wouldn't have been able to have a conversation with someone.

37:31

Tommy: I find it so funny listening to that. Yeah, the clip. Anytime I hear that, I did— I, I made a video for Insta as well, just because I fucking thought it was the hilarious thing. But did the before and after. Friday's voice: I think I'm getting sick.

37:46

Josh: And then: I'm— it's not good. This is peak man flu.

37:51

Tommy: If you can find it. Yeah, the week before you saying, I think I'm getting sick, cut to Monday.

37:56

Josh: I'm in peak man flu. Oh, that's great. On the COVID line thing, Scooter, how many times did you get the COVID Did you get COVID? Have you been tested?

38:05

Peter: No, never. Not tested? Me neither.

38:07

Josh: I haven't had it.

38:08

Derek: First person in our family got tested just recently. The owner got a cold. Yeah. And got a test.

38:15

Tommy: Yeah. Negative. And she wanted Monday off. Yeah. So she got it Sunday afternoon.

38:19

Derek: It was really probably about 16 hours.

38:22

Tommy: Oh, that's good. Yeah. 1000 Minutes.

38:24

Josh: Yeah, that's true.

38:25

Tommy: That would be a good selling point, actually. Selling point. I've thought about this.

38:29

Peter: I think 1000 Minutes as a podcast concept. Yeah, we talked about— I think it might have been, might have been my idea. Oh really? Yeah, this year when I was—

38:38

Josh: Would you have mentioned it on the show?

38:39

Tommy: Yeah, definitely. Oh, we can find that.

38:42

Peter: I think we were brainstorming at the end.

38:44

Josh: I'm mid hash brown.

38:46

Peter: Sorry, sorry, Jimmy. There was an episode I was on this year last year, where the first— I think it was the first guest.

38:51

Tommy: Well, there haven't been many guests this year, so—

38:53

Peter: And we was brainstorming right at the end, what can we do for 1,000? You're like, oh, 1,000 guests and blah blah.

38:58

Josh: And I was like, and then I said 1,000 minutes.

39:03

Peter: And then cut to like 2 months later, I was listening to an episode and I was like, I'm having déjà vu, they're having the same conversation.

39:10

Josh: That's the daily talk show for you though, isn't it?

39:13

Tommy: Stealing ideas and talking shit repetitively. Oh, this is good. Okay, so, so you're claiming it? I think so.

39:20

Peter: I'd like to claim it on record that I came up with the idea.

39:23

Josh: We'll get that audio. Thank you. Um, Scoot, what I love about watching you in these environments is you just like, you're always thinking. So you're always just like, it's just, no, just like really, what are you thinking right now?

39:34

Peter: Going through the head, Scoot.

39:35

Derek: No, I've got that, what do you call it, the, the loudmouth guy. There's more to what's coming out his mouth, he's also writing himself into every script. So everything, you know, when I admit it, so when Pete said I came up with that idea, I'm going, yeah, and I was the one that said let's play golf once a week. Oh yeah, 2 years ago. So selfishly self-absorbed, I'm writing myself. It's like when I drive along listening to this show. Yeah, you know, I'm shouting at it. There's something— I'm involved.

40:07

Tommy: It's so human nature to claim things, isn't it?

40:10

Peter: Yeah, I don't even know why that's important.

40:12

Josh: Gone. It's like, it is.

40:13

Peter: I came up with that idea.

40:15

Josh: That's like, who cares?

40:16

Tommy: But there's nothing worse than a mate telling your storey like it's his. Yeah, catching someone out like that.

40:22

Josh: Well, you love it. Yeah, you've mentioned that before, that happened to you.

40:25

Tommy: Yeah, I love mentioning that.

40:28

Josh: Um, the, uh, on the, on the golf thing. Yeah, one thing I've noticed is how strict I am when it comes to scorekeeping. Okay. Yeah, like I can't give my— like, there's been those tiny moments where I'm like, oh, you know what, like drop one. Yeah, you know, like it's a, it's a casual game. Yeah. Are you a guy that keeps score when it comes to playing golf? Totally.

40:49

Peter: No, I agree with you. I'm pretty, pretty strict.

40:53

Josh: What do you get on 9 holes?

40:55

Peter: 9 holes, I mean, it's been a while. Anything between 40 and 50 was, was what I would aim for. Is that good?

41:03

Tommy: That good? Yeah, yeah. 52 and 51 the other week.

41:07

Derek: Yeah, 50 and 9 is great.

41:09

Josh: He's getting between 40 and 50. That's really good.

41:11

Peter: My hand— I mean, I'm not very good. My handicap was about 19 or 20, I think, when I was pretty— still pretty good.

41:17

Josh: And then mine was 32.

41:19

Peter: It's just one of those things that you need to play all the time. Like, I used to play once a week, and then I stopped playing as frequently. And I was playing with a mate who was basically exactly the same. We were pretty similar. And he went and did a driving range once a week and a round every week, and I stopped. And his handicap, he got it to 9 because he just kept playing and kept— I mean, kept showing up even when he had a croaky voice. And yeah, his handicap is now 9 and mine is still exactly the same, I think.

41:46

Josh: Yeah, that's still very good. I mean, so Scoot, you were saying that you're going to become the golf guy.

41:51

Peter: I'm a big fan of this golf chapter, by the way. The golf guy.

41:54

Josh: Yeah, I mean, you've got the hat for it.

41:56

Derek: I was playing golf when you were in nappies. My God, we counted every stroke when we were kids. You got it. Yeah. No, we didn't realise that after 10 or 13 you stopped.

42:09

Josh: Oh no, I never stopped. I would get 14. No, I would.

42:13

Tommy: I remember a couple of 18, 19, 20.

42:14

Peter: Yeah. Wow. Okay.

42:15

Josh: Yeah, that's a lot of strokes per hole. Was it in your—

42:19

Derek: still pretty bad.

42:20

Peter: Was it in your family? Like, uh, just like golf?

42:24

Josh: Yeah. So my uncle caddied. Yeah. And so that was— yeah, so that was a little bit of it, but, um, Um, yeah, it is. It's one of those things where, like, so my golf coach Benny, he said to me, um, he's like, mate, you know, I sense the, uh, you know, because I said to him, oh, you know, Churchill Park Golf Course, you know, when I, mate, I was like, I was trying to give him concept, uh, context. I was like, mate, when I played, I was so young, I was using a driver on a par 3.

42:50

Peter: What a fucking idiot.

42:53

Josh: He's like, but like, at the end of it, it was just sort of whole thing is like, mate, what I think is, um, you just need to leave all the Churchill Park stuff behind you. Just start it. That fucking swing reminded me of the 17th hole. Fucking 9th hole, shit myself. That did happen. Yeah, I, um, no, but, uh, yeah, I, um, no, what wasn't ideal actually, I, uh, so I used to play all the time. Yeah, like, um, 4, 4 times a week sort of thing, 36 holes. And, you know, it was pretty fun. Anyway, had an upset tummy. Oh no. And on the 9th hole, nearly got like, nearly, nearly got there. This was a time where we would even, would use 50 cents to pay the pro shop to call, to call home to get picked up. And my mate Kyle Hobson had to call my mum from the pro shop. Mum's like, why is Kyle calling? He said, oh, Josh has fallen in mud. Can you bring towels? Good friend. Good. Can you bring towels?

44:00

Tommy: Yeah, on a golf course. Yeah. Was it like a wet day or something?

44:04

Josh: I shit myself. Shit himself. Mud.

44:08

Peter: There was a mate trying to cover it up.

44:09

Josh: Yeah, yeah, the mate. Because like, there was no mud, TJ. There was no mud. Kyle, no, it was shit. Yeah, because Kyle was having a great round. I said to him, mate, I can't do this hole. I'm gonna shit myself. He's like, fuck off. You're like, I'm having a good round. If I don't finish it, like, you're gonna say that I cheated. And so I finished the round. Commitment. And like, I could barely— like, I was like, I think I tried a pitch, and as I tried the pitch, it just sort of squirted out of me. And, um, Jesus. Yeah, it's not great. It's graphic. I mean, this, to be honest, it's an issue. One of the issues that I have with Yarra Bend at the moment— not that I need to shit all the time, it's more pissing actually— I was busting to piss by the end of the golf. And what are you meant to do?

44:52

Derek: Well, can we talk about your piss the other day on Albert Park? Yeah, yeah, please do.

44:56

Josh: How would you describe it?

44:58

Derek: So it was like the coldest day on record. Mate, don't be rude, don't be rude.

45:02

Josh: I was, uh, I don't know what that's got to do with anything.

45:10

Derek: Yeah, all right, coldest day, coldest day. Yeah, and winds were going crazy and Josh really needed to piss, so he pissed at a tree. Yeah, and I was in the buggy just behind him. And I'm, surely you got some on your legs because the wind was just blowing it straight backwards.

45:25

Josh: It was like, it was like, um, someone had gotten, uh, you know, like a hose and put their thumb over it. It's just like, I could like, chaos. Yeah, there was like so much. If it was, um, if it was a, if it was a golf shot, like I was slicing it.

45:46

Tommy: Were you pissing into the wind and you wouldn't— you're gonna piss with them?

45:49

Josh: Well, so the thing is, I just— you don't piss through— I would have fucking hit the 18th hole. I would have gone so far. If I had pissed with the wind, it would have hit a world record. Is that really— is that really the advice? Piss with the wind?

46:03

Peter: What's the saying? Don't piss into the wind.

46:04

Tommy: Yeah, don't piss into the wind. It's classic. Yeah. Okay, good. Just because it— yeah, just the other way.

46:09

Josh: Yeah. Or a comeback. Well, no, I think, um, the problem was I thought I was safe because I was pissing at a tree, so I would have thought— what the hell?

46:17

Tommy: Here we go. Who is that? Someone hiding. I think it's Jim.

46:20

Josh: Oh, it's Gemma Watts. Can you go down with it? Oh, this is great. Okay. Oh geez, she's got— there we go. This is good. All right, Georgie, stay calm, man. Stay calm.

46:32

Tommy: Derek, Derek just said he has to go.

46:34

Derek: Yeah, do you want to see me out?

46:36

Josh: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, perfect. Eric. There we go. Do you want to hang on? I can play El Monte for you. Yeah, we've got to play Jim in as well. Yeah, it's good.

46:51

Tommy: And then we're going to tap you out.

46:53

Peter: I'm tapping out for Jim.

46:55

Tommy: Oh God, I thought the place was falling apart. And then you'll tap out and go couch, Mike. I might do a little cleanup.

47:04

Peter: Yeah, let's do a cleanup. Cleaner.

47:06

Derek: Oh, and there's a delivery.

47:07

Peter: Oh my God, there's a delivery too! Another delivery.

47:10

Josh: All right, through the garage. All right, through the garage. Here we go. Had 3. That's a lot of coffee.

47:17

Peter: Here comes Gem. Can she hear us?

47:19

Josh: Yeah, she'll be able to hear us through that speaker. Gemma Watts is here, guys. Gemma Watts is in the building.

47:26

Derek: We have a delivery too.

47:28

Peter: Come on, coming in straight Straight from FoxFit, do you think?

47:32

Josh: Yeah, straight from FoxFit. Oh, this is beautiful. Oh, this is beautiful. What a beautiful moment.

47:39

Peter: Hugging and embracing.

47:39

Josh: Oh, this is great. Yes, it's time to putt for a cup.

47:42

Derek: Can everyone hear okay?

47:43

Josh: Yes, we can hear. Gem, can you hear us? Yes. Perfect. Alrighty. Oh, what a treat. Alright, so you are going to putt for a cup.

47:51

Gemma: Oh no, no, no.

47:53

Josh: Hey Gem. This is a bad idea. Pete is saying hello too. Hey, Gem. Hi!

48:00

Peter: Good luck with the putting.

48:01

Tommy: Good luck. Do you think Uber or Deliveroo thinks something's wrong with the system seeing all these deliveries to 8 Ferguson Street, Abbotsford 3067? What's the latest, GB? What have we got?

48:13

Gemma: This is going to be bad. Yeah.

48:15

Derek: All right, Gemma Watts is in the building, everyone. She's about to putt for a cup. So the rules are— are you right-handed? Right-handed? Yeah. That surprised me actually. I thought you'd be left-handed. Yeah, you creative types.

48:28

Josh: I said that to you, George. You're like, what does that mean?

48:31

Derek: All right, so the rules are 3 putts. You get the first one in, you've got yourself a cup.

48:37

Gemma: I would say my first question is what is putting?

48:40

Josh: What is putting is the first question? Putting is just the— Yeah, just a little— It's mini golf. Mini golf. You are literally at Holy Moly. Look at the lights. Like we can get you a cocktail.

48:53

Gemma: But I would love a drink.

48:54

Josh: Do you want to pop the Prosecco? Again?

48:59

Derek: All right, I'm going to put this camera— that's right, guys, I'm panicking. Okay, if you—

49:03

Josh: gosh, Gem, if you get it in, we will pop some Prosecco downstairs. TJ is headed there right now.

49:12

Gemma: I mean, I can't, I'm on my pace, but sure, despite being an adult. Oh, great pace. Yeah, I'm 28, but I just thought, you know, fuck it.

49:21

Derek: Second surprise for me.

49:24

Josh: GB, watch your mic technique.

49:25

Derek: Yeah, I know, it's hard to interview.

49:27

Josh: Watch your mic technique.

49:29

Derek: Alright, Gem, so put it into the cup. If you get the first one in, you've got yourself a cup. If you get the next 3 in, you win a Wendy's cup. Oh, sorry, the next 2 in, you win a Wendy's cup. If you get the next 3 in, you get a book. Clear?

49:42

Gemma: This is real high stakes shit, this is.

49:44

Tommy: I just need to know, am I popping after 1 in? In? Yeah, if she gets the first—

49:49

Josh: if she gets it in the first one in.

49:51

Gemma: Yeah, but we know that this is not going to happen.

49:53

Josh: If she just gets one in, I think you do it.

49:54

Derek: Yeah, I have two hands, please.

49:56

Josh: All right, JB, I'm cutting to you, so get that. Oh God, beautiful shot. Yeah, here we go. It's good.

50:10

Tommy: Oh, hang on, wait, wait, I'm gonna pop it into the stack of cups.

50:13

Josh: Okay, here we go, here we go, let's go. Okay.

50:15

Tommy: Okay, Phil, make sure you're filming properly. Here we go, here we go.

50:22

Josh: Oh no, oh no, it's coming.

50:28

Derek: Gem can't have any because she's Japanese.

50:33

Josh: Congratulations, Gem, you've got yourself a cup. So you've got 2 more for Wendy's cup.

50:39

Peter: Okay, did she shark it? Oh, I've never played golf before, I don't know how to do this.

50:42

Josh: This is ridiculous. This is, um, what is going on? Beginner's luck, Jem says. All right, good technique.

50:55

Derek: Second putt coming.

50:56

Peter: It is good, isn't it? Straight back, solid putting.

50:59

Josh: Oh, she's gone left.

51:02

Peter: Pretty aggressive, sort of.

51:03

Derek: Yeah, that's okay. Should we have stopped before? Okay, she's missed.

51:15

Gemma: Last one. Can we just pretend these subsequent parts did not occur?

51:23

Tommy: Yep, she's got it.

51:29

Josh: All right, we're going upstairs. I like it when you do that.

51:32

Tommy: Oh yeah, you can take the mic.

51:35

Josh: Perfect. Oh yeah, very good. Uh, TJ, have you got the Uber? No, George is grabbing the Uber Eats. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

51:45

Peter: Here she comes. Can she beat Scooter's entrance? Is that what we're going for?

51:51

Josh: Yeah, I think so. Let's hope so. Gemma Watts!

52:07

Tommy: Would you like, Gemma, the main seat or would you like the couch? We can start there and then move us back. All right. Thank you, thank you. We'll do— we've got another— this is what, the fourth delivery?

52:19

Josh: Yeah, these are coming out of our arseholes. Do you want to open it, Pete?

52:23

Peter: Sure.

52:24

Josh: Do the honours. What have we got?

52:26

Peter: Says, says Karen on the front.

52:27

Tommy: Oh, we know a Karen. Could be Mum. Kaz Laurent. Here we go. Who mentioned— is this a bakery?

52:36

Peter: Isn't it a French bakery?

52:37

Josh: I did say I was croissants, didn't I?

52:44

Tommy: So there's everything from Mum.

52:47

Peter: I said as a joke, she's a— I'm a croissant, it'd be nice.

52:50

Tommy: Um, from, uh, yeah.

52:51

Peter: What's this? What's that? Is that some sort of chocolate éclair type thing?

52:55

Tommy: That is. Hang on, we gotta show the camera.

52:58

Josh: Looks outrageous. Well, yeah, you want to— I'm just—

53:01

Derek: Mum just texted me, she said, it's me.

53:04

Josh: There's a tummy.

53:06

Peter: And there it is, the almond croissant. Can you show them?

53:11

Tommy: That is, that is art.

53:13

Josh: Oh my goodness, Kaz.

53:14

Gemma: Oh my goodness, you've never seen them more.

53:17

Josh: Oh wow, he nearly lost him. You have to have a bite of that because you, that is, yeah, you said that That. Yeah, you got me. Gemma Watts, what have you been up to today?

53:29

Gemma: What have I been up to today?

53:30

Peter: Yeah, and in the last year, because I haven't seen you for a year.

53:33

Gemma: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, Sweet FA, the whole, the whole 12 months, the whole year. Yeah, slept through it. Yeah, you look bloody fresh. Yeah, it's concealer. Blew the lid off at the beginning of lockdown and I've just been in a coma for 12 months. You're here now. But I, um, I scheduled all my Instagram post.

53:51

Josh: Oh yeah, yeah. I wonder if there is like, if we'll find out one day that like, you see like deepfakes and stuff, but people who have actually like set, set that up for when they die and then just continue to keep posting.

54:06

Tommy: Do you reckon you could? Totally. I'm sure there's a social media agency that is for dead people.

54:11

Gemma: If I can keep monetizing, then I will. For my future generations.

54:15

Tommy: Keep your brand going. Yeah, let's work off a name for the digital agency. Dead Set Digital.

54:25

Josh: Shut the gate, shut the gate. It's on fire! That's done it. I've got reverb.

54:34

Tommy: That is amazing. Can we do a switch and can we put on our mantei? I want to take a little wee-wee. Yeah, yeah, sure. And then, um, thank you.

54:45

Josh: Okay, so I'm going to put on our mantei. So we can't hear his stream.

54:48

Derek: Well, do you want me to, um, play this bit from Pete brainstorming the 1000th episode?

54:52

Josh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can still wait and hear it because we've got speakers in there. Perfect. All right, ready?

54:58

Derek: Check. And interesting part at the start you might want to hear, Tommy, about us talking about the date.

55:04

Tommy: Okay, okay. April, March, April 7th, I think.

55:08

Josh: It'd be nice to do something, but if we could do it live, I'd love to still have Gronks watching live or whatever. So if there was like a live stream, this setup's comfy. This is a great— if we, you know, we could have every hour just having guests on, we could do a bunch of remote stuff and just have fun with it. And I feel like this could work.

55:26

Tommy: It's a Tuesday, I think. Yep. Um, good day, Tuesday. Yeah, we'll knock out the week.

55:34

Peter: Chewy Tuesday.

55:35

Josh: Yeah, one every hour until we shit ourselves.

55:37

Peter: 1,000 pieces of Chewy.

55:39

Josh: Oh yeah. What about—

55:40

Tommy: yeah, yeah, there's something in the number. What about 1,000 calories every hour? 1K. 1,000 calories. 1,000 steps. Ah, there's a thousand. You gotta eat a thousand.

55:48

Josh: That's all you get.

55:49

Peter: Easy. Too easy.

55:50

Josh: Yeah, 1,000 steps. 1,000, um, a thousand guests.

55:54

Tommy: Everything. What if you spoke to a thousand people?

55:56

Josh: That was you with the dumb idea. I'm brainstorming. I'm brainstorming.

55:59

Tommy: You can only get food from 1,000 metres away. Oh yeah.

56:04

Josh: $1,000 worth of food. No. $1,000.

56:06

Tommy: Yeah, we thought we saw it all.

56:07

Peter: We are brainstorming.

56:08

Josh: We were going to do that for episode 500. So here's then the challenge.

56:13

Tommy: It's grandiose. It's a big number. Uh-huh. Uh, most people will never do 1,000 podcasts. I'll probably do what, hardly anything that other people do in my life. It's a weird one that why we've even done that.

56:25

Josh: To be honest, probably lots of people will do 1,000 podcasts now.

56:29

Tommy: Like, not just everyone's gonna have a podcast, but so that is the point. We haven't stopped. They had a few little breaks, but But never thought, no.

56:39

Peter: Wasn't there, there was some research, it was a few years ago now, it was like the average number of episodes per podcast in the library was something like 8. Yeah. Yeah. So you've got all these podcasts that start and don't get past episode 8.

56:52

Josh: Josh Speaking got to 11.

56:53

Tommy: Yeah. That 10, that 10 break, that 10, son. Yeah. But there's also like in the last little while, this, the Monday's episode, even what, you know, the transition from a month or so of just us talking shit because we were going through some stuff and we didn't really want to go there. But it's also like, you see how you just can't— like, not stopping is the thing that you need to do.

57:20

Derek: Yeah, I don't think it was mentioned. No, it's coming, it's coming.

57:24

Josh: Is it? Do you want to keep— Lily said it. Are you sure?

57:27

Peter: Sorry, I know it's not— it's not real.

57:28

Josh: Do you want to type in minutes, George, into transcription? Sorry, JB. Just say—

57:33

Peter: Gem, I am convinced that I came up with the idea of 1,000 minutes. Thank you.

57:38

Josh: Yeah. Can you please use your mic if you— Sorry. You're okay.

57:41

Gemma: I've never been on a podcast before.

57:44

Josh: I actually, I wanted to get headsets. Oh, that would be fun. Yeah. But—

57:49

Peter: I was on a podcast actually last night and the guy had one of those headsets. Oh, really? And the sound was amazing.

57:53

Josh: Were you— Was it for SEN? What are you doing it for? No, but I— Or Lewis, uh, Lewis, uh, how's— was that what's happening?

58:02

Derek: Oh, here we go.

58:03

Josh: Oh, this is cute. Uh, just a little— just having a moment. A little embrace. I got it, I got it.

58:09

Derek: All right, I think I found it. Are we taking a break?

58:13

Peter: We're still going, we're still going. But, um, I think I found it.

58:17

Derek: Yes.

58:17

Peter: Okay, perfect. Come on. Uh, here we go. And so the decision has already been made. You just keep showing up and doing it each week, and we're still here.

58:24

Tommy: We're still here. Yeah. 967 episodes later. What's the plan for 1,000? Haven't worked it out, mate. Don't put that pressure on us. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. What do you think we should do? That's a good point. I, I'm not married to anything.

58:37

Josh: So Ryan Shelton's got to be involved in this.

58:39

Tommy: I'd like Ryan to be part of it.

58:40

Josh: Okay, you should be a part of it.

58:42

Peter: That'd be nice. You've got Ryan by the sound of it.

58:43

Josh: No, but I think that we could do one idea that I had. Can we drive in?

58:47

Tommy: There you go.

58:49

Josh: Is that what's going on, George? Sorry. No, you're okay. Okay, sorry. Uh, geez, I hope I said it. Minutes.

58:57

Peter: Oh, how long is that? It was Josh.

58:59

Tommy: Oh, can you— There's nothing more annoying than a guy who claims it and then—

59:05

Josh: Yeah, and, and I was— It's the guy who wasn't even trying to claim it. I was, I was willing to be like, you know what, I probably did. Isn't that bizarre?

59:12

Peter: Like, that's a fault of the— my, my— What a way to go to the couch. Thanks for having me, guys.

59:21

Josh: Do you know what that reminds me of? That reminds me of Absinthe, like, blowing up at the tennis, calling the, the, the umpire, the digital— what do they call it? The line.

59:33

Tommy: Yeah.

59:34

Josh: And it's gone so far out. That's bizarre. I'll own that. I appreciate it. And you know what?

59:40

Peter: Like, geez, I waited and waited and waited. 5 minutes. Here it comes.

59:44

Josh: Here it comes. Yes. Can we get a second opinion on that? Can we play 50. Was that a deep fake? Yeah. Uh, thank you. Uh, uh, feel free to stick around on the couch for a bit so we can chat with them.

59:56

Tommy: I'm just messaging Jules Lund's coming up at 10 AM, but before that we have Gemma Watts. Yeah, there's a bit of jumping going on.

60:10

Josh: That's okay, that's all right.

60:11

Tommy: This is beautiful. This is a blazing Oh, sorry, Georgie.

60:16

Josh: There you go. Oh yeah, good to see you. You smell lovely, always.

60:25

Gemma: Uh, I feel like I've really set the bar high with perfume.

60:29

Tommy: Fragrant. Yeah. Um, how, how do you like the cups? Congratulations, by the way.

60:36

Josh: On which thing? Well, you did get a hole-in-one.

60:41

Gemma: Yeah, uh, no, I was, I was sort of a natural athlete.

60:44

Tommy: I was gonna say your house, but the golf was probably Yeah, it's a bit more beneficial for us.

60:48

Josh: Yeah. Have you moved in?

60:50

Gemma: No, we're nearly finished renos. Just bought a house and a new car in the space of—

60:54

Tommy: I heard you got a Mazda.

60:56

Josh: Yeah, it's pretty.

60:57

Tommy: Any brand deal there? Because we can talk about it if you need to.

61:01

Josh: Yeah, we'd be happy to. But zoom zoom. I was really hoping it was Toyota because I would love to jump. No, no, no, I know that. What's Hyundai's? What are they? What are they all about?

61:14

Tommy: Just a bit of a sad hate No, no, but what are they? Yeah, what's their commercial?

61:18

Josh: Oh, what a feeling. That's Toyota. George, can you pull that up?

61:23

Tommy: What a feeling.

61:25

Josh: No, what is the, um, I'm trying to think of, uh, other car— like, so Holden. What was Holden? I forgot how tall Pete is.

61:32

Gemma: Are we playing a game?

61:33

Tommy: We're playing a game. Um, yeah, Ferrari. What's a Ferrari?

61:36

Josh: Uh, Gemma, what is a Ferrari? No, it's a car.

61:39

Tommy: What's the emblem? We're talking emblems, we're talking logos. Ferrari.

61:43

Gemma: I'm sorry, do you think I'm someone else? What?

61:45

Tommy: Yeah, this is, this is fish out of water stuff.

61:50

Gemma: I don't know.

61:51

Josh: Is it a horse?

61:52

Tommy: Yeah, that's good. Yes, we'll do 2 more. I love this. On a Holden logo. Come on, you bogan. The Holden logo, like the, the, it's like a crest or something. Josh, you know, so you can't say.

62:05

Gemma: I don't know what's on my current car. That's a good point.

62:08

Josh: What is a Mazda logo? I saw, I saw a, um, a guy post on social media his forearm had a VW imprint. He was in a car crash and he fucking— No. Hit his arm so hard. No. That it left an imprint. Isn't that amazing?

62:25

Tommy: Was it a scar or like a— No, it was a bloodied thing.

62:27

Josh: It was still there.

62:28

Tommy: I know a guy who fell off his bike and had an asthma pump in his pocket, and it was a purple asthma pump bruise. Like the colour purple. Bruised as bruises can be purple, but it bruised as the shape. You know what I mean?

62:43

Gemma: Yeah. You guys know some weird people. Yeah. I don't know anyone that's ever been injured.

62:47

Tommy: Do 1,000 episodes, you got some weird friends. Yes.

62:50

Josh: Well, the, I think, is it Holden line?

62:53

Tommy: I think it is like a line. Which is great. Yeah. Well, I've been playing a game.

62:59

Josh: I don't know what happened. I guess it probably was to do with ISO. Bit playing more trivia when I like go to my parents' place or even like if Bri and I are bored, we'll go on YouTube and you just type in like trivia and it does like multiple choice for you on the television. Okay.

63:16

Gemma: I regret being in a coma for the last 5 minutes.

63:18

Tommy: No, you've had an awesome time. You've watched TV as a kid. This is how you know all the ads. I'll say a few and I want you to sing the jingle. Oh, you don't have to. You can say it. Um, the company O'Brien. Oh, it just goes, oh, right.

63:33

Josh: Oh my God, I was trying to give you a bit of reverb. Yeah, try again.

63:37

Gemma: Just a bit.

63:38

Tommy: Can you just do it, do it, do it in the town?

63:40

Josh: Oh, oh, oh, oh, Brian.

63:46

Tommy: Uh, what is the, um, the catchcry of, uh, uh, roof seal?

63:55

Gemma: Oh, it's just a seal noise. I'm not gonna do it.

63:58

Josh: This is literally why we got you on. We need this seal noise.

64:04

Tommy: What about, um, roof roof? What about, um, Lube Mobile? And what's the number for Lube? Is it Lube or—

64:15

Gemma: It's Lube Mobile. Lube Mobile.

64:17

Tommy: 1330. Yes! 1330.

64:21

Josh: What's that kid up to.

64:23

Tommy: Okay, George, can you quickly find out who that kid is?

64:25

Gemma: If you wait long enough, he'll be on A Current Affair. They wheel that out every 12 months. They're like, the children from ads of the '90s, where are they now?

64:34

Josh: And is this an Aldi pizza or a Woolworths pizza?

64:37

Tommy: Is there any other—

64:38

Josh: Neighbours from hell.

64:39

Tommy: So, I was driving through Teralgon, I think it is. But you drive down the main strip and it's a classic sort of like country town. It's quite a regional little city, but it's got every store that's had a TV ad. From, you know, when we were growing up. Yeah. And I was driving through looking at them, just singing the jingles. I was like, how the fuck do I know these?

65:01

Josh: Television. I'm trying to think of two other, two other old jingles, two other, like two other sort of— Oh, oh, Coddies was big, like.

65:09

Tommy: Yeah. What's the song for Coddies?

65:11

Gemma: My Dad Makes the Fruit.

65:13

Tommy: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He sings it. Just say it. My dad makes the fruit.

65:17

Gemma: Picks the fruit. No one makes fruit.

65:18

Tommy: My dad picks the fruit. Goes to Coddies. That makes the cordial taste like piss. That was the, um, was that the schoolyard one? Yeah, that was the explicit version.

65:34

Derek: Um, so the, the kid who— the Loomobile kid. Yeah, his name's Scott. He's 30. Scott who? Uh, doesn't, doesn't say. It's actually Scott. But there's actually a bit of—

65:44

Josh: oh my God, he looks like him!

65:49

Derek: There's a bit of drama. Oh no.

65:51

Tommy: Um, excellent. Me too. Can you guess what it could be from that ad?

65:55

Josh: Oh, um, he's not getting paid royalties.

65:57

Derek: Yeah, yeah, no. When he was a kid, his parents took the money.

66:00

Tommy: His parents took the money.

66:02

Derek: Apparently his voice, the 13-13-32, he didn't— he said he didn't have the list. They made him do that.

66:14

Tommy: Some corporate executive marketing ad agency's like, "He's not cute enough.

66:20

Gemma: Lick him." Yeah. Lisp stick.

66:22

Josh: But it actually worked. Yeah. It was so sticky. Yeah. No, it really was annoying.

66:29

Derek: And it gets stuck in people's heads. Yeah, it does.

66:32

Tommy: Yeah. What's another one? Pete Shepherd, come on, mate. You watch telly. You're from the '90s.

66:36

Peter: Well, the one about the lisp, I don't know if this was the '90s. It reminded me of that health insurance ad where the guy has the really buck teeth. It's not really a jingle, but he goes up and says, Does that include optical? And they look at his teeth.

66:46

Tommy: And dental.

66:49

Josh: Oh, sweet. That's also free for free.

66:55

Peter: Oh, what about, um, less jingle, more just— What about Virgin?

66:57

Josh: Yeah, so Virgin Mobile, they also had, um, the DJ or something. They had some guy who was like, I can't— All I remember is this.

67:07

Tommy: What about, uh, Budget? Budget. And the only reason I know this TV commercial song is because my mum worked for Budget for many years. Yeah, but she would sing it. Budget with a budget, rent a truck, it's quick and smart and half your luck. So budget with a budget, rent a truck. Whoa, I've never used Budget in my life.

67:30

Josh: That's beautiful.

67:31

Tommy: Wow, I think I got it right. So good.

67:36

Gemma: Um, what school did you go Kooyong Secondary College.

67:39

Tommy: That's right. But there's an Indigenous word for muddy water.

67:43

Gemma: Is it? Apparently.

67:44

Tommy: That's good. What was your school song? Only because my mum also, along with the budget one, would tell me her song from Siena College.

67:53

Gemma: Yeah. Which is a private school.

67:55

Tommy: Does Kooyong sound like a private school to you?

67:58

Josh: Public schools didn't have shit. No, they don't have anything.

68:00

Gemma: We didn't even do the second verse of the national anthem despite me getting up at every assembly being like, yeah, I'm ready to do it. Yeah.

68:06

Peter: And it's crazy that all the kids also had Southern Cross Shadows too.

68:10

Tommy: They wouldn't even sing the fucking song.

68:12

Josh: Yeah, the, um, what are you throwing?

68:17

Tommy: I don't know, fired up for some reason.

68:19

Josh: Um, there is, there is a lot of coffees. Um, I mean, I mean, oh, do you need it? Yeah. Uh, it does remind me of the, the footy songs. Uh, local footy. Pete, did you, did you, um, do you know your local footy song?

68:37

Peter: Absolutely. Ocean Grove. Ocean Grove is one of I think one of the few that didn't just copy an AFL song. Okay, go for it. Oh, we do like to live beside the seaside. Oh, we do like to live beside the sea. Down in the Grove we are a football team and all the boys are on our pews. For the red and the white we like to rib a bit. For the red and the white we are supreme. What do we sing? We'll fight and never fall. We'll beat and whine them all beside the seaside because we're a team. And then you do the whole, did we win? We shit it up. How do you do it? Easy. Wow, that's really impressive.

69:09

Gemma: Do we respect women?

69:09

Josh: No.

69:11

Peter: Sounds real. Yeah, yeah.

69:14

Tommy: Get on the piss with the boys and fucking hit the footy club after.

69:16

Josh: Can I do my Endeavour Hills one? No, it's been a while.

69:19

Gemma: But just generally, I met Peggy O'Neill last night, if anyone was wondering. Peggy O'Neill? Richmond, come on. Peggy O'Neill? No, Peggy Peggy. Pete will understand. I told her I still do the 'Eat 'em Alive' at the end of the Richmond theme song, and she's like, 'Okay.' So has that been— They banned that about 25 years ago.

69:39

Tommy: Eat 'em Alive? Too violent or something. Really?

69:41

Josh: Eat 'em Alive? That's a lot. Yeah. Um, anyway, uh, we are the Eagles, the greatest team of all. We're rough and we're tough and we're always on the ball. All our opponents shake in fear as soon as the team appears. Till the final bell, we'll give them hell. We are Endeavour Hills. Yeah.

70:05

Gemma: What I loved about that is that Josh did not break eye contact at all.

70:09

Josh: You're loving Thank you very much. Yeah, no, I think that was— it was— it's funny how it brings everyone together, isn't it?

70:16

Tommy: What does?

70:17

Josh: A theme, like having a song that you can all sing. We were playing hand games the other day and— What? Yeah. Boys are Cheats and Liars.

70:26

Tommy: Do you know that stuff, Gem?

70:27

Gemma: Yeah, of course. Do you want to sing it with me?

70:29

Josh: Ready?

70:30

Gemma: Are you doing specifically the one from the Hot Chick? Yeah. Okay. Boys are cheats and liars.

70:35

Josh: They're such a big disgrace. They will tell you anything to get to second base.

70:39

Tommy: Ball, baseball.

70:40

Josh: He thinks he's going to score. If you let him go all the way, then you'll You are a horologist studying flowers, geologist studying rocks. The only thing God wants from you is a place to put his cockroaches, beetles, butterflies, and bugs. Nothing makes him happier than a giant pair of jungle boots and a dancing bear named Chuck. This is unbelievable. All you guys really wanted to do is forget it. No such luck. I've never heard that. Unbelievable.

71:05

Tommy: Hey, um, what about speaking, uh, what was that language kids were back in the day.

71:11

Gemma: Oh, but like, adults could understand it. Yeah, I don't understand it.

71:20

Josh: Did you?

71:21

Gemma: Do you know? And Mum's like, you just said Mum doesn't know what I'm saying.

71:29

Josh: How does it work? What did you—

71:31

Gemma: it's just like the every syllable, you just, I don't know.

71:35

Josh: Every syllable.

71:37

Derek: Do you take the back end of it and put it at the front or something?

71:40

Josh: I've given you reverb. He might be in the cupboard.

71:45

Tommy: Yeah, it's true. Is there something you want to play back, George?

71:48

Derek: Um, yeah, yeah, there is something I want to play back.

71:51

Tommy: It's got, uh, it was back in the cupboard.

71:53

Derek: Sorry, I'm in the cupboard, uh, Gem. So when you were on the show—

71:56

Tommy: Is he archived? Fuck, we have to reset for every guest.

71:59

Josh: Can you actually— like, we'll get you walking. In, like pretend like you're walking in, like I'm going to go into the cupboard. Okay.

72:05

Derek: Do you want me to get up?

72:06

Tommy: No, no, no, no, physically. I'm just going to go into the cupboard.

72:08

Derek: I'm the archivist, so I can find some bits from the shelf. That's why I've got my archivist jacket on. Yeah. I'm just going to head into the cupboard now. Okay. Alright, I'm in the cupboard. So, I'm just looking around and I found this one from episode 274 when you came on for a Fat Friday. And it was a nostalgic food. And I'm gonna go take it out to everyone now. I'm just talking to myself. All right, I'm coming out now. All right, I'm back, guys. I love this episode.

72:37

Gemma: This is the best I've ever looked.

72:40

Josh: Here we go. It was a nice dress.

72:41

Gemma: Yeah, thank you.

72:42

Josh: The laser thing, would people do it with their pubes? With the dust? Oh no. Yes. Like, would you ever commit to your whole pubic hair so you never have to worry about waxing and all that ever again? Yes. That's a big commitment.

72:58

Tommy: I mean, well, that's one thing that's nice. He hates it. There's things coming back into fashion in that respect.

73:08

Josh: No, but the thing is, what Gemma's saying is that some people have actually lasered everything. Some people have not pointing fingers, but that happened. Like, so, like, it lasered the whole thing so you never have to worry about it ever again. Again. But that, that is a very permanent—

73:26

Gemma: yeah, one year top up. Yeah, okay. You can eventually grow it back.

73:34

Tommy: So it's a— it just needs to be constantly—

73:37

Derek: yeah.

73:37

Tommy: Well, fuck, are they gonna invent this shit? Just get it— I would get my back completely done because I'm sick of having to ask my wife, please just sort me out.

73:49

Josh: That's— well, I thought we were gonna get some, um, old canteen food.

73:56

Gemma: It's always going to happen.

73:57

Derek: I thought that was a funny bit.

73:58

Gemma: I didn't know you guys that well at that point.

74:00

Tommy: I was about to say that. That was the second time we met you and we were talking about waxed vaginas. Yeah, it felt, yeah, it felt very—

74:06

Gemma: Thanks to our friends at Candela Medical.

74:09

Derek: Well, what I thought, TJ, is could we—

74:11

Josh: and Mazda. Oh God. Do one back wax.

74:15

Tommy: Oh, if you go get some wax. Of you.

74:17

Derek: I think we've actually got some. Oh, really?

74:20

Gemma: Is it in the cupboard?

74:22

Derek: Come in, Jess. Come in, Jess. Oh, this is—

74:25

Josh: where is— oh my God, this is the happiest I've ever been. Where is Jenny? And there's the barbecue. Oh my God, where is Jess around?

74:32

Tommy: We've got 70 cameras in this building, we can't find Jess.

74:35

Derek: He texted me, wax strip on your computer.

74:38

Tommy: Here we go, here we go. I mean, you could make it more entertaining and go strip off the front.

74:45

Gemma: Do I get to do it?

74:46

Tommy: Yes, do you want to go one off the front? Fitting. Like, it's worse at the front here.

74:52

Josh: Oh, the front's good.

74:55

Tommy: Yeah, and that way I don't have to actually take my top off because I'm fucking pathetic at the moment. But this doesn't look too bad.

75:02

Gemma: I've actually never done this before.

75:04

Derek: You'll be fine.

75:05

Josh: Yeah, this is gonna figure it out. This is, this is Radio 101. I know.

75:09

Gemma: I think you don't need to sit there with your top like that. I'm not doing it.

75:13

Tommy: I think it was first week of Radio Inception, leg wax.

75:17

Josh: Well, I actually, as the digital content producer, I, um, Fifi Box did a, um, a blackout challenge where she took her blindfold off and she was— I guess you probably wouldn't do this nowadays, this was 2012, different time, yeah, only 8 years ago. But the, um, uh, no, she, uh, took her blindfold off and she gave a woman, uh, Brazilian wax. And, um, it's shiny if the lady says, yeah, it was all clear. And the— but the thing is, um, oh my God, there's so much I had. I had to edit it and they, um, and they, they forgot about a mirror that was in the shot. And so I had to edit it in the evenings so no one else was at the office and had to track the vagina. I censored the— I was actually very respectful. I blurred it first and then sort of guessed it. Really? Yeah, I thought it was pretty good.

76:07

Tommy: I don't know why you're such a good person.

76:09

Josh: I know, I know. How low is the bar? Jesus Christ. Impressed. I was really proud of that, Pete. I could tell Pete was too. Pete, were you impressed? Yeah, well done. Thank you. It's a difficult circumstance. Yeah, because we know who, uh, who would have been peaking. That's Jimmy.

76:27

Tommy: We're in Gemma's zone now. We're in Gemma's zone. This is beauty. This is beauty. How's Miranda Kerr, by the way?

76:34

Gemma: She seems great. Yeah, yeah, you know.

76:38

Josh: Yeah, well, she was just on your podcast.

76:39

Gemma: Yes, she was. Yeah, not in person though, she's in the US.

76:43

Josh: Um, Bree actually, um, uh, uh, got a Facebook message from Miranda's brother. I believe his name's Matty. He does, um, PT. Yeah, diet stuff. Yeah, that's the end of my story.

76:58

Gemma: Yeah, yeah, just— we don't get any insight into the content of the—

77:03

Josh: no, it was specifically around like, oh, do you want to join my 6-week programme or something?

77:08

Tommy: Do you think it was actually him or like a bot or— I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, anyway, so again, okay, talk to me, Gemma.

77:15

Gemma: I mean, I don't know what I'm doing with this, but I'm happy to wing it.

77:18

Josh: Yeah, why not? All right, yeah, go for it.

77:21

Derek: Against the grain, that's the vibe, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, that's all you need to know.

77:26

Peter: Great, man.

77:27

Gemma: I can't work out what— look at his chest. I don't know what— what direction is the grain? Are you okay?

77:37

Tommy: It's weird, I've got a swirl of hair like a tornado. Yeah, this is chest. Like, maybe get it that bit. You can— you want real pain? Just, just fuck me up. Come on, whatever, just go like top.

77:48

Josh: Just watch your Coke, no sugar.

77:49

Gemma: I'm just, um, yeah, just the words, just fuck me up. You'll need a run-up to pull.

77:55

Tommy: 9:20 AM, guys. It feels like midnight.

78:03

Peter: Uber Eats delivery.

78:04

Josh: All right, um, can we get Jess a mic?

78:12

Tommy: Coming, it's coming.

78:13

Josh: Okay, here we go. Yeah, that's on.

78:16

Tommy: Perfect. Jess, have you waxed a few chests before?

78:19

Gemma: Um, nothing as hairy as this, but I've waxed a few things before.

78:25

Josh: Yeah, I don't know what that means. Um, okay.

78:30

Tommy: Okay, all right.

78:31

Josh: Oh, this is more fun.

78:36

Tommy: Do you enjoy— not this, but the doing the beauty stuff too? Like, yeah, yeah, I can get the mic on.

78:45

Gemma: I do like facials and stuff. I'll bring in all of my like contraptions. I just got a facial steamer. I had to put it on during the footy last week because I was too stressed.

78:56

Josh: Okay, here we go. Can you, um, just put the mic on, uh, Gem?

79:01

Tommy: Uh, I can if you want me to.

79:03

Josh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. There we go. So I go down, you reckon?

79:06

Gemma: And then— well, yeah, so I think you need to rip from this way. Which— am I going to rip straight down the middle like he's wearing a tie? Let's do your back. Let's do that. This is easier.

79:19

Josh: Can we get a camera? Okay, turn around. Yeah, there we go. Oh yeah. Perfect. Oh yeah, this is great. Oh wait, we need to be able to see the hair's looking great. Oh, oh my gosh. Oh great. I mean, I'm so concerned about symmetry, but don't worry, there's no symmetry on there.

79:36

Gemma: Yeah, so I'm just gonna pick a spot. Okay, okay, let's just do this.

79:42

Josh: Okay, okay, just hold that close to I feel good about this. Jess, can you hold the mic closer to Jim?

79:53

Gemma: I'll happily rip that off for you. No, I really want to. There's a second one. I'm doing the second one.

79:59

Josh: Okay, here we go. Ready? Oh, the second one.

80:05

Gemma: Go against the grain. I've got to work out which way.

80:08

Tommy: The second one hurt, like the second rip. Yeah, I got way more hair. Did it come off? Can you cheque it?

80:14

Gemma: I can't work out what way his hair's growing.

80:15

Tommy: Okay, hang on, Josh, can you go back to that at all?

80:19

Gemma: Um, sorry, that's going that way, so then you need to— your hair is growing in 17 different directions.

80:32

Tommy: Here we go, ready?

80:36

Gemma: You don't get to say ready, man. Okay, so we feel confident that this is going this way.

80:44

Josh: Oh my God, okay.

80:48

Gemma: Oh wow, you did so well.

80:53

Tommy: I kind of like the sound of it.

81:00

Josh: Oh God, hang on, there we go. Where are we? Where are we? Where are we? Small Mark.

81:07

Gemma: Really?

81:10

Tommy: I'm so glad you didn't do it off the front. That would have been horrible. Yeah. Oh, now it's all sticky and yucky. Yeah. Oh, oh, yucky. That's why you get laser.

81:22

Josh: Yeah. Where was the place?

81:23

Gemma: Thank you to Candela Medical. Candela? Candela. Candela. Yeah. What else do they do? Candela Medical, A and Z.

81:31

Josh: Australia, New Zealand? Yeah. Don't want to do the whole thing. And yeah, great. What's been the highlight of reno so far?

81:40

Gemma: Finishing it. The hands-on stuff is done. Everyone said, oh, painting's really cathartic, but those were people that have never painted before, or they've like gone in and helped someone for 2 hours.

81:51

Josh: They've done cork and canvas. It's a bit different, isn't it? Yeah. And so what colours did you decide?

81:59

Gemma: Oh, just white the whole way through.

82:01

Josh: So you say that, But if you learn anything about white, there's many colours of white.

82:07

Gemma: Talbman's cotton sheets specifically. Thanks to my good friends at Bunnings. #Paintspiration. What a hashtag.

82:14

Tommy: Did you get the paint before you put it on? Like, did you get a sample, try it on the wall?

82:19

Gemma: No, I actually just felt super confident. Okay. Yeah. That's confident. I mean, that's Gemma Watson.

82:25

Josh: Yeah. And so you're saying that you were just doing sort of a standard roll and a cut-in, you're cutting. Yeah, Josh called and I was like, sorry, I'm up a ladder.

82:33

Gemma: And he thought it was like a funny joke.

82:35

Josh: Scooter Derek uses that as an excuse. Yeah, yeah.

82:38

Gemma: But you're here. I was on the ceiling.

82:40

Josh: Yeah, but you were doing like— I would love to do painting where you're using the industrial spray thing because, you know, whenever you're like doing that— indoors. Well, I think that you can. Well, I did a little sort of upgrade on a factory once when I had like a warehousey sort of office. And we painted it all with rollers and it was a clusterfuck. It was so annoying. And so I wish that I just paid $600 or whatever. I don't know how much it costs like to get someone to do the spray.

83:10

Tommy: Did you, have you painted hungover yet? Oh yeah.

83:13

Josh: That's the only way she painted. Oh my God.

83:15

Gemma: Have I done anything without a hangover?

83:17

Tommy: I don't know if it's the painting that I hate or just because I was hungover. Over. I've been hungover a few times.

83:22

Gemma: Probably the painting. It's no better sober and enthusiastic. Can you work hungover?

83:29

Tommy: Yeah, you can actually get through a bunch.

83:31

Gemma: Oh yeah, it, you know, it depends on the level of dusty toxicity. Yeah, that's nice. That's beautiful. Yeah, yeah, I can do anything.

83:41

Derek: No, I mean, yes, I can, so I'm saying, but no, those floorboards, Gem, did you Did you really find them just under the carpet?

83:50

Gemma: Yeah. So, I'll say this on here. So, at the first open for inspection, Chris was like, can you just stand in one of the doorways for a bit? And then he started ripping up the carpet just to see if there was any. So, then when we bought the house, the owner was like, and you know what's great? There's actually floorboards under the carpet in all of the bedrooms. And we were like, oh my God, what?

84:11

Josh: Why didn't they say that in the sale? Like, shouldn't that have been like a selling point? Shouldn't they have mentioned that? That? It was lucky they didn't because then everyone else would know, right? Yeah. Was that the idea of like being sneaky or was it that you were destroying their house? I don't know. It was a bit of both. Did you have one of the, you know how they do like the— More than destroying the house bit. Did you? I remember you telling me about like you cheque for like termites and stuff. Did you do one of those things or not? I mean, I didn't personally, but you had people that did it.

84:39

Gemma: You do it like a builder. Fitting inspection.

84:41

Tommy: It's like buying your first car, you need RACV checked. You always want to get it done if you're buying a secondhand car.

84:47

Josh: Yeah. Any surprises?

84:49

Gemma: The, uh, what can I say? Um, the, the more, the longer we've been through the courts. Um, yeah, no, basically, um, the previous tenant was a, um, criminal of sorts, so There's been a few things that have come to light. Settlement was a clusterfuck. We got there. We were locked out. I won't say the juicy bits, but we finally got the keys, then went to the house to get into the house, as one does. And we were locked out. And then we have this neighbour across the road who owned the house for 30 years. So, she has like tips and tricks. She comes over and she's like, they've deadlocked it from the inside.

85:35

Tommy: They've got this like trick lock.

85:37

Gemma: So then we had to call a locksmith at 8 o'clock on a Saturday morning to drill us into our own house. And he was like, I've never seen anything like it. He basically just had to drill a hole in the door.

85:48

Josh: Why do they do that?

85:49

Gemma: Because the tenant wanted to buy the house and missed out. So this was like his last little fuck you to us. Oh, what a dog. Yeah. And left. He didn't flush the toilet, did he? Left it up. Left two smashed, potentially stolen cars on the property. Yeah, lots of stuff.

86:10

Tommy: Did they come with it? Do you get to keep them?

86:12

Gemma: No, but we had to get that in writing because he worked for the owner of the house, so they didn't have a formal lease agreement. So, before we bought, we were like, we need this in writing because what if we buy the house and he's like, I'm not going.

86:25

Josh: Oh, interesting. Like, get in writing that he was going to leave? Yeah.

86:29

Gemma: Yeah. So that was good fun. That is fun. And then we found things around the house. What, like good stuff or bad stuff? Very bad. One of them I won't say. The other was some interesting power cords and a fluorescent light and water damage under concrete.

86:50

Josh: And he had his little mini golf set up like us downstairs.

86:53

Gemma: Yeah, exactly like that. Yeah. You growing anything? Because you could make some good money off that. Yeah. So just a few little fun bits and pieces.

87:03

Tommy: And he hasn't come back? He did.

87:05

Gemma: He came back because we hadn't even settled yet before we got the keys, because there's a whole other piece to be said on that.

87:13

Josh: There's so much, isn't there, when it comes to all this stuff.

87:15

Gemma: So our solicitor threatened to sue and then he came to get all his shit off the property and I was there. He's shaking like a leaf, real meth head energy. He's like, I'm so sorry. Thank you for your patience and understanding. And I was like, man, I don't know where you've got the idea that I'm patient or understanding.

87:35

Tommy: No. It's an interesting one. There's a not so nice person living across the road, if you've heard the saga of my street. But, you know, 2 home invasions, you'd think you'd move out. Yeah. But he hasn't. I just think about the next person that lives there. Like, what if someone comes to that house? Would you buy a haunted— Neighbours. Everybody needs good neighbours. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I wanted to use the reverb. My head went to ghosts or something. Yeah.

88:06

Josh: Yeah. It was the reverb.

88:07

Tommy: A dead guy in your house that loved neighbours?

88:09

Josh: That's what we're going to ask, though.

88:10

Tommy: Would you buy a haunted house? Like, yes.

88:13

Gemma: Yeah. I would love that.

88:16

Josh: Ooh.

88:16

Tommy: Like, there is some great articles online of how Houses that can't sell because there was some kind of killing there.

88:22

Gemma: Oh, give them to me. I love buying houses.

88:25

Tommy: Cheap. Cheap. Some of these places, cheap.

88:28

Josh: Pete, have you ever seen a ghost?

88:31

Peter: No, but in the street that I grew up in, Platypus Court, we—

88:35

Josh: Yazzie, yazzie, yazzie! Oi, oi, oi!

88:41

Peter: There was a haunted house in the street growing up. It was always known as, that's the haunted house. Don't go up there. On a big, big, big, big vacant block. I'm so jealous. And now it's quite weird because the house is still there exactly the same, but they've redone it all inside and done it up inside. And there are people and quite a lovely family living in the haunted house. And it's quite a shock. Like, we used to, you know, run up to the window to see if you could look inside. And it was really scary. Is it?

89:07

Tommy: It's not haunted anymore or something? I guess not.

89:08

Peter: No. Well, there's a family living in there, so you'd hope not.

89:11

Gemma: Yeah. It's because Jennifer Love Hewitt came to the house and helped the ghosts pass over.

89:15

Josh: Is that the movie Ghost? No, that's—

89:18

Gemma: Ghost Whisperer, the television show.

89:20

Josh: Ghost has the clay scene. Yeah. Yeah. I don't like that film.

89:26

Gemma: I'm doing pottery tomorrow.

89:28

Josh: Oh, really? Where are you going?

89:29

Gemma: I don't know. It's for a hens.

89:31

Tommy: Oh, that's cute. How many recreations of the ghost scene will there be? I can't put a number on it. Every photo. I want it for my Insta recreating the scene together, you know.

89:41

Josh: Surely some clay cocks as well if it's a hens.

89:44

Gemma: I don't know that it's that type.

89:45

Josh: Oh, it's not right. What kind of a hen? Maybe. Oh, sorry.

89:50

Tommy: Yeah, what would you do for your hens?

89:56

Gemma: Um, no, I'm— I don't know, but I don't want a stripper because I'm— no offense, I'm too, too critical of the performance. I hate the, uh— firstly, it's like $300, and I— every time I'm at a hen's, I time how long the performance goes for. The longest one I've seen was 12 minutes and I'm like, oh my God, too long.

90:15

Josh: I thought you were going to say it's like Uber Eats when you do it all the time. You don't want to.

90:19

Gemma: Yeah, well, no, but I just hate the theatrics of it. Like, what do you reckon? I take off this belt, ladies? I'm like, that's literally what you're getting paid to do. We know you're going to do it.

90:29

Josh: It's like a magic trick. Like if you fucked with him, said, no, don't take the belt off.

90:34

Gemma: Yeah, but then they always pick on me because they can see me sitting there like, you're not a good dancer. Uh-huh. This is bad. And they're like, oh, you're judging.

90:42

Josh: Yeah. I mean, yeah, it would be nice to have like a— I wonder if there's like a high-end choreographed sort of dances that you could— Like Bree and I watched a show on strippers and some very skilled dancers.

90:58

Tommy: Channing Tatum, he can dance. Have you watched? Yeah. What's that film? I've watched it too. What is it?

91:05

Gemma: Constantly playing up here. Magic Mike. Magic Mike. Yeah. Yeah, right. Great film.

91:10

Tommy: It is rent-free up here. I do like it. But he can really dance. Yeah, yeah, it's annoying that he's, you know, rich and can dance.

91:21

Josh: Why is he called Magic Mike? I don't know.

91:24

Tommy: It's the, it's the dance, it's the troupe, isn't it? Or is he, is his name Mike? Oh, first toilet, uh, performance.

91:30

Josh: Was that, uh, toilet performance? No, that's, that's good. How, just please take it, take a seat at your, um, you know what's really upsetting me and I I just noticed the uneven Venetian blinds just outside the door. Don't start looking around.

91:46

Tommy: It's a real nightmare.

91:47

Gemma: I just realised I had that shot. You guys all right?

91:51

Josh: No, there's a lot going on.

91:52

Tommy: Just on the floorboard flashback, these floorboards, these behind you, the dirty looking ones, the darker ones, that is floorboard, that's glue that would have been sticking the underlay down to the floorboards. The Titanic. Yeah. And that was from Renovator's Paradise.

92:12

Josh: From Renovator's Paradise.

92:14

Tommy: So if we pulled those, if you put up all the carpet, would have been a bit like that and then you'd have polished?

92:20

Gemma: Yeah. Yeah. We got the whole house sanded and polished so that it matched. Oh, it's bloody beautiful.

92:24

Tommy: Yeah. Paint's going today. Yeah. Get the camera on that. Yeah.

92:27

Josh: Oh, you got to get my two-shot back. The—

92:32

Tommy: Oh, sorry, guys. This is a real sticky one. What can I do to fix my back?

92:35

Gemma: Do we have wipes of any kind? Otherwise water is going to have to do.

92:41

Tommy: I am going to get this off because it's really annoying. Hey, James.

92:45

Josh: JB, could we find something of Gem and Pete together? I think that would be fun.

92:50

Gemma: Pete and I have screenshots of our favourite moments on the show.

92:53

Tommy: Oh, really?

92:54

Gemma: Where we're just laughing at something that has gone over everyone else's head.

92:59

Derek: Can you think of any off the top of your head?

93:03

Gemma: Um, yes.

93:05

Derek: Cool.

93:06

Gemma: There is one. There's one, there's one I think where, I don't know what episode it was, but we were talking about wine and sweet sweet Seb says, we're like, oh, what kind of wine? And he's like, oh, I don't know, I think it was a red. But Pete and I were asking specifically about like like, what kind of wine? Oh, red. And everyone else has just continued the conversation, and Pete and I are piecing ourselves.

93:35

Josh: Oh, this is a good one. Kelvin in the comments said his favourite catchcry from the '90s, not happy, Jen. That's a good one. Fucking great. Yellow Pages. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yellow Pages were like a real, real vibe. Oh, that's cool, TJ. You've put like a little— can you just hold it it up for the audience? If you could, um, I'll put it over. Can you fix the Venetians while you're at it? Should I start playing golf? Yes. Yeah, yeah, you want to play?

94:02

Gemma: It is the best dressed sport.

94:04

Josh: Yeah, I, I am so into it. Okay.

94:07

Gemma: Like, um, it just has always struck me as boring, but now that we know how good I am at it—

94:12

Josh: No, you actually should. So, Bree— Oh yeah, look, let's have a look. Um, a beautiful job there, Teja. It looks so much better, doesn't it? Yeah. Um, thank you for hiding No. So, Bri has been very supportive with my sort of golf kick and— She's a good person. She, yeah, she is. And she has gone to the driving range with me a bunch and she's picking up all this stuff about golf. And I think she's very close to like starting to want to actually play and hit the ball and like potentially have like a lesson.

94:42

Gemma: See, I would just be, I'd be buying a whole new wardrobe and then going and playing once and being like, this was it for me.

94:50

Josh: Well, you can get into the whole, like you could get like a really nice nice golf bag. Fashion. Where's my golf bag? There behind you.

94:58

Gemma: Spending money. Yeah.

95:00

Josh: Can you show, can you just bring my bag to that door and just sort of give it a bit of a demo? And can you show the—

95:06

Gemma: Can you do it in a way that's like on Sunrise when they're like, and here's Karen.

95:12

Josh: So just, yeah. So just hold it up. Just lift it up for everyone. So it's a really nice, it's called a hybrid bag. But the best part about it is Um, GB, if you want to, um, if you sort of go, I think you'd be more fashion about the fashion of golf.

95:27

Tommy: Yeah.

95:27

Josh: And then push and then just show, show how it like, um, sits. Yeah, you're walking along the course and then you just push it in and it opens up. Okay, that's, it's fucking awesome. Yeah, it is, it's really amazing. It's really doing things. Yeah, yeah, it's sick. And so like, yeah, boom, up and down, up and down. That's a tight little stop. That's sick.

95:51

Derek: It's really cool.

95:53

Josh: Boom, done. You can leave that there, James, thanks.

95:56

Gemma: Right. Why so many clubs?

96:00

Tommy: Clubs, yeah, it's actually—

96:01

Gemma: I would have got there.

96:02

Josh: No, you actually have, you can have up to 14 clubs in your bag.

96:06

Gemma: Yes, but why? Anyone can have as many of anything as they want, but why?

96:11

Josh: Lofts, so different lofts.

96:13

Gemma: Oh, I hate that I asked this question.

96:15

Josh: I know, you brought it up. Yeah. Pete's loving it. Are you loving it, Pete? Yes. Yeah, yeah. Um, those— no, so, so different lofts mean it just, it basically, uh, pushes the ball further depending on the loft. Was that a fair way of describing it? Each club is intended to go a different distance. Yes, his description was better. It was. I've been really hell-bent on lofts at the moment. I actually said to Benny, my coach, mate, you have a coach? Yes. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, yeah.

96:42

Tommy: How many sessions? We've had 2 so far.

96:44

Josh: Fuck, when did you have the second soon after. Yeah, like a week after. And so did some chipping and stuff, which was good. But the funny thing is I said to him, like I said, I like, I had a swing. He's like, your swing's perfect. What? What? So I can't do anything? So don't bother coming back.

97:02

Tommy: Me scusi. Sorry, mate, you've lost all the weight.

97:05

Josh: You're done. Yeah. So what are you meant to do at that point? Because I also feel like potentially, like there's still like, I'm just going to not want to train you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's like going to a psychologist and being like, I think you're all good. Fuck off.

97:19

Gemma: You've gone to the doctor and said, my shoulder hurts when I touch it, and he's like, stop touching it.

97:24

Tommy: She'll be right.

97:26

Josh: Oh, actually, that reminds me of one of my favourite jokes as a kid. Do you want to hear it? Yeah, I would love to. So, a guy goes to a doctor. He says, I'm sore when I touch here, here, here, and here. He said, what's wrong with me? He said, oh, you got a sore finger.

97:50

Gemma: I quite like that. Because he's touching multiple spots.

97:53

Derek: All right, Gem, I found that bit that you were talking about. Oh yes. Okay, cool.

97:57

Gemma: They're looking for the best Gemma and Pete moments.

98:00

Josh: So, GB, you can even—

98:01

Gemma: We have screenshots of all of them.

98:03

Josh: You can start playing all these things and then I can just cut to it once you start playing.

98:06

Gemma: I think that was— we have—

98:07

Peter: there's a couple of good ones, but lowering cals. So if you want to— oh really? Peanut?

98:13

Tommy: Yeah, peanut. What are we talking?

98:15

Josh: 622. Oh, did I say 630 or 640?

98:21

Peter: Close. What, what drop is that, Seb? Does it say?

98:25

Tommy: Uh, no, I just literally typed in calories. Red wine. Red wine. I think it's red.

98:29

Gemma: Yeah, but it's solid.

98:31

Tommy: It's interesting. So that's—

98:33

Josh: oh, I'm obsessed. It's literally—

98:36

Tommy: you shouldn't say you need to get out What are we talking about? What was being talked about there?

98:42

Josh: We're talking about wine and, uh, Gem, when, when you were off just before, Gem was talking about how there's been a few of those moments when there's been Pete and Gem and it's gone over everyone else's head. And it was all about— they were asking Sev's—

98:57

Gemma: we were being snobs essentially.

98:58

Josh: What sort of wine was it? And he said, a red. It's like, we fucking knew that, you idiot. We knew that bit. Um, and so that was, that was a good part. Moment. Anything, Pete, that you can think of from your time with being with Gemma on the show?

99:14

Peter: I'm trying to remember if that was the first time we met on the show or if that was the second. I seem to recall—

99:20

Gemma: Because we were internet friends for a long time before. Yeah.

99:23

Peter: Because I remember listening to the— It must have been your first episode and you were telling a— Was there a storey or maybe it was the second episode where you shared a storey about sticking a sticker on the bus on the way home? Yes.

99:34

Gemma: That was my first time. Yeah.

99:36

Josh: I remember that. That was such a hot day, I feel. I remember it being a hot day. Did I still smell good? Yeah, you did. Yeah. Yeah. Because we talked about fragrance, I think. Yeah. But I just, I remember, yeah, they were the yellow transparent stickers. Yeah. And you put them on the back. I put them in Elgar Park.

99:52

Gemma: Yeah. I put it on the bus.

99:54

Josh: Actually, that's, I'm curious to know if any Gronks still see stickers that they've put around the place of The Daily Talk Show.

100:02

Derek: Oh, I got sent one 2 days ago. Who from? Yeah, from my housemate, Bodhi. Yeah, they're talking about boat. I've got a housemate called Bodhi, everyone. Is he Tommy's son?

100:12

Tommy: That's what we say on the show.

100:13

Derek: Yeah. And she sent me a photo. She said she spotted one at Black Cat in Fitzroy. Really?

100:19

Tommy: Who put that there?

100:20

Derek: Don't know. Not me.

100:21

Josh: Black Cat is a scooter.

100:23

Tommy: Black Cat is what? A bar? Yeah. Yeah. Great. And did she take a photo? Yep. And you want to show that?

100:32

Derek: Yeah. Um, yeah, I forgot to send it to you guys.

100:37

Josh: Yeah, clearly. It's like someone's given a compliment to you, like, just, just tilt it forward for me. This is bad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow, how good is that? Sick, George. Let us know in the chat if that was you.

100:53

Gemma: Can you say it was probably me and I just don't remember?

100:56

Tommy: Does Bodhi quite get it? Like, how much have you told her about this? For her to be able to see the— Oh my God. You know, like, I think it's so nice.

101:05

Gemma: I love the idea of George has told her nothing and he just disappears every day.

101:10

Derek: Pretty much. No, I've told her a few things. The other night I was chatting to her for a while and I gave her my lowdown on how much I love Ryan Shelton. I sort of bombarded her with that and showed her a few of the videos I'd made and stuff.

101:25

Josh: So, you got her watching Hump Day replay?

101:28

Derek: Yeah, exactly. Oh, great.

101:29

Gemma: Essential viewing. And she texted me this morning saying, good luck for the Oh, that's nice.

101:34

Tommy: We love Bodie. Yeah, thank you, Bodie.

101:39

Josh: So yeah, she's on board. Is she watching now? Not sure. Uh, can you text her?

101:44

Derek: Yeah, sure. Thanks. Let us know.

101:47

Tommy: Um, no, no, I'm just thinking, uh, Olivia said, did we take the Uber delivery from downstairs after Jim got here? I think we did. That was, that was it. Was that Karen's? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

101:58

Josh: Can I have a bite of something?

102:00

Tommy: Yeah, yeah, mate. What do you want? You want a, um, half an almond croissant? You want a choccy? You just escargot?

102:04

Josh: Can you cut something small for me so I don't have too much mess, please?

102:07

Gemma: This is chaotic that I requested a Coke at 9 o'clock in the morning. No, that's perfect.

102:12

Tommy: We can have it. I've had 70 coffees.

102:13

Gemma: It feels like midnight. Why? Huh? No, it doesn't.

102:19

Josh: I think it's the casino vibe. It is a bit.

102:21

Gemma: Yeah, yeah. Casino vibe.

102:22

Josh: Have you seen the pokies up to— Yeah, to make some money. We've actually converted upstairs. This is a lot of crackerjack to pokies. It is a good film. Yeah, it is a good film. I actually might watch it tonight.

102:37

Gemma: I was going to say same, but then I realised I have plans.

102:40

Tommy: Gem, would you mind cutting Josh half a piece of one of those? I would not mind. Do you have—

102:45

Gemma: which?

102:47

Tommy: He's easy, he said.

102:48

Josh: Yeah, uh, no, I like the chocolate éclair, please.

102:50

Tommy: Okay, which one's that? This one? Oh no, that. Oh, the chocolate. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, this is, um, this is— I remember how we did an eclair off.

103:01

Gemma: Yeah, I mean, how much do you want?

103:03

Josh: Just half, please. No more, no less. Just a little bit. No, just a sliver.

103:07

Tommy: No less.

103:07

Josh: I hate when people say slither.

103:09

Gemma: Yeah, same.

103:10

Josh: It's like, fuck off. Sliver, maybe. Slither. Thank you. Oh, that's—

103:16

Tommy: oh, you got the Laurent sign. Oh, that's really nice.

103:18

Josh: Are you finishing? Big man's going. Yeah, can we— we'll get, uh, can we, can we get a final—

103:23

Tommy: are you afraid of heights? I am actually. Doesn't work, the joke. You know the joke? Genuinely? Because your fly is—

103:32

Josh: your fly's undone. See, I thought it was related to his thing.

103:38

Peter: Yeah, that's what I thought.

103:40

Tommy: That joke— never say that joke to a tall guy.

103:43

Josh: He's afraid of heights. Yeah, he's still— I might have fucking heard that before. No, your fly's undone, mate. Uh, J-Ben Could we— could you get on your camera and actually just film? You don't need to do audio, just film Pete on the way out. Sure. Thank you. Great to see you. Great seeing you, Pete.

104:03

Peter: We love you. How long we got?

104:05

Tommy: I will get a 13 hours and 3 minutes. Easy. That's light work, baby.

104:13

Derek: It is.

104:13

Josh: Good luck, team. We've got it. We've had um, a bunch of concurrent viewers, which is great. A lot of people tuning in. Yep. Don't touch the flubs.

104:22

Gemma: Yeah, that's right.

104:25

Tommy: Goodbye, my friend. Follow him. Let's follow him out.

104:29

Josh: There we go. Let's have a look. Where is he? There he is. He's leaving. What an angel. He's leaving us right now. Is he gonna go through? Oh no, he's going through the garage. He's always having a last Nope, he's out of here.

104:43

Tommy: There we go, let's clap him out. Bye Peter Shepherd, and thank you. Jules Lund and his daughter are coming in. Oh cute, little Billie. She's come in before and watched the show really for a Fat Friday, so we'll get some footage up from that. May I eat something?

105:01

Gemma: Would that be okay? Of course.

105:03

Josh: Oh yum, of course. Um, thanks to Hey, Dr. K. Uh, yeah, um, Dr.

105:12

Tommy: K, hey, good to have you.

105:16

Gemma: It feels like I never left. That's great.

105:19

Tommy: As in just in general, just ever?

105:23

Josh: Yeah, just been sitting here. Yeah.

105:26

Tommy: Um, George wanted to play something.

105:27

Derek: Yeah, this bit, just when you were— when you did that cute little look over at Pete when you were—

105:32

Gemma: oh yeah, there's a few of those and we've Is that flirting? Yeah, Pete and I have been secretly dating for about 2 years.

105:40

Derek: Well, it reminded me of this bit, and this is actually one of my favourite bits, and I just love it. But you're basically so in a conversation with Josh, and you guys are both just ignoring Tommy. It's quite funny.

105:51

Gemma: Oh no.

105:51

Josh: Okay, has it got the guy who did the 'I'm on a boat'?

105:54

Gemma: Yeah, Andrew Schamburg.

105:57

Tommy: He's super talented. You know, he's like pretty old. I still want to have sex with him. Well, he doesn't look old, but he is old.

106:09

Josh: Every time Mr. 97 gets out his phone, know that he's putting a note down for the show. As soon as he says, "You can have sex," I reckon he's looking up Andy Samberg's age.

106:16

Tommy: Thanks, Mr. 97. You're like, "You're my underscore. I didn't have one, so yeah, you're my extension." I came in and greeted him as 97s.

106:25

Gemma: That's perfect.

106:27

Josh: Yeah. Have you, um, have you been overseas before?

106:30

Tommy: Andy Samberg's 40.

106:32

Gemma: Um, I went on exchange. I'm sorry, Tommy, we're actually talking.

106:41

Tommy: Mr. 97 and I were talking. How old is he? He's 40. Sorry, Josh is just, I'll close this.

106:51

Josh: How old? There is those. I think the The, um, there's so many of those moments though because you and I have different sensitivities. You, you're the, uh, you're not saving the move it up, moving on guy, but I, if, if I sense that you want to move on, it's like Happy Harry was in earlier. Yeah, TJ's ready. TJ was ready to move on. I was like, no, I'm doubling down. I want to know every one of Harry's favourite meals. Um, it's too tempting, you know, to learn learn about what people like to eat. What is your favourite cuisine?

107:25

Gemma: Cuisine, like category? Italian, without question.

107:29

Josh: I think we may even have a throwback. I could eat pasta every day for the rest of my life. I reckon I've asked Gem that exact question. Can you play what she said last time? Because it was Italian.

107:39

Gemma: Yeah, I've fucking changed my entire personality.

107:44

Josh: If you could have one franchised food establishment in your house, what would you franchised?

107:51

Tommy: Yeah. Does it have to be? That's a specific question.

107:54

Josh: On the count of 3, we'll say it. Ready? 1, 2, 3. Taco Bell. No, I was going to say Taco Bell, which would have been funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Been Taco Bell lately?

108:07

Gemma: Wednesday. Oh, really? No joke?

108:09

Tommy: Yeah. Is there one close to you?

108:10

Gemma: Do it now. There might be. We still will. We're staying at Chris's, so we just went to Blackburn.

108:16

Tommy: Okay.

108:17

Gemma: I'm so excited about my house. I keep—

108:19

Tommy: when do you move in?

108:21

Gemma: Um, the Rosebud move is happening this weekend. Okay, what does that mean? So Chris has got all of his stuff at his parents' house. Yeah. Um, so that's happening this weekend, and then the Mont Albert, my stuff, Nana Wadding, Chris's other stuff, that move is happening next weekend. But it's 15 minutes from my parents, so I'm just gonna take stuff in instalments because I now have to— the perfume spreadsheet I'm gonna have to individually bubble wrap 42 perfumes. Oh my God, I didn't realise you had the perfumes.

108:53

Josh: Yeah, I know you had the spreadsheet.

108:54

Gemma: I didn't realise you had the actual— GB's got a photo of them.

108:57

Josh: Oh really? Yeah, I need to wait.

109:00

Tommy: Is there going to be a, um, a throwout of like, let's say, too many beauty products that you don't need anymore? And yeah, sorry, I'm just chewing now. Right?

109:12

Gemma: But I do— I throw out opened products that have been opened and unfinished. I do that every couple of months. But then unopened products, I just donate.

109:22

Tommy: Okay, who to? Friends?

109:24

Gemma: Women's shelter?

109:25

Tommy: There's actually, uh, for specific for makeup.

109:28

Gemma: Yeah, I have a couple of women's shelters I donate to. St. Kilda Mums are great. Dress for Success is great. They like get people ready for job interviews.

109:37

Tommy: That's awesome.

109:37

Gemma: Yeah, and then there's another one one, it's through the Uniting Church, but they, they work with children and families that are in the foster system. So these, they're just amazing, like to bring in a foster kid, unreal. But then naturally you're going to be like a bit financially stressed. So Christmas and birthdays and stuff, I just wheel in all of the makeup so they've got prezzies.

110:01

Tommy: That is awesome. I once saw a woman in a pharmacy pharmacy doing a full face of makeup with the samples. I respect that. It was just, yeah, everything.

110:12

Gemma: I used to, in high school, if I was gonna like see a boy that I liked, I would go into Myer and just get perfume samples and just— yeah.

110:22

Tommy: Did you know, did you have one that you'd go because you can't go, you can't blend?

110:26

Gemma: Um, yeah, I would just go to wherever the Britney Spears fragrances were.

110:29

Tommy: Yeah, that was a great one, pink bottle.

110:31

Gemma: She got a few, there's a few. And was there like a— yeah, that was, um, I want to say Britney Spears Fantasy. Yeah, it just smells like candy. Yeah, like the, the name of that genre of fragrance is gourmand, which is like very sweet perfumes. Uh, Thierry Mugler Angel is like the original gourmand scent. I love that I've just turned this into an episode of the Glow Channel podcast.

110:57

Tommy: I quite like Fuck it. I haven't listened to Miranda Kerr rap. You have? No, I haven't.

111:02

Gemma: I mean, it's, it's fine. What's she like? She's very nice, but—

111:10

Tommy: Oh, we're getting the spilling tea.

111:12

Gemma: No, this is not, this is not me being rude, but because she's so famous, she knows exactly how to hit every beat in every question, whereas I tend to like things a bit.

111:25

Tommy: So it's hard to have a conversation where it's just back and forth?

111:29

Gemma: Yeah, I mean, it was still, it was still back and forth, but I guess she's been asked everything because she's been like, she's owned the brand for 12 years. She signed with Victoria's Secret in 2006, so yeah, she's a pro.

111:41

Tommy: What's her product?

111:42

Gemma: So she has a brand called Cora Organics. It's actually very impressive because she's owned— the brand launched in 2009 and she still owns 95% of it, and she just keeps reinvesting in it. That was interesting to me. I was like, I don't want to know what's in your handbag. I don't care about like what you have for breakfast. Let's talk the biz.

112:01

Tommy: Did you ask her about how Kevin is?

112:04

Gemma: How Kevin is? I think that's her husband. Evan. Evan. Evan. No, I didn't. Negging him.

112:11

Tommy: Kevin. Whatever. Well, g'day, Kevin. Whatever. Evan Spiegel.

112:15

Gemma: No, but she was talking a lot about Katy Perry, who is— Oh, in what way? Their best friends. They are? Yeah.

112:22

Tommy: Because they've got a kid together?

112:23

Gemma: The kid, the— so Katy Perry is now married to, or has a child with, or both with Orlando Bloom.

112:29

Tommy: Okay, no, but Katy didn't have a, uh, because, um, Miranda was with—

112:33

Gemma: yeah, they were married and they have a child together.

112:35

Tommy: And so, okay, so, and they're friends like that because they do— yeah, collide.

112:40

Gemma: She was talking about her new moisturiser and she's like, Katy Perry has thrown out all of her other moisturizers. I'm like, let's talk more about this. What did you get out of it? Not a great deal. No. But yeah, yeah, that's famous people.

112:53

Tommy: Yeah, well, she's— yeah, she's uber. Where was she when she did— did you have pre—

112:58

Gemma: I think Malibu, a little bit, but not much because she was just doing back to back.

113:02

Tommy: Actually, in Malibu, because I made that joke.

113:04

Josh: Yeah, you did.

113:04

Gemma: But I think she was— I could be wrong. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Wow, what a life to live. Yeah, seriously.

113:14

Tommy: Um, who, who's coming up on the, uh, the Glow Who's coming up? That's a big get.

113:20

Gemma: Yeah, that was huge. The biggest one maybe ever was Erin Lauder, Estée Lauder's granddaughter, and she's like the creative director of the company. That was a pinch me, which is only really for like beauty people, but that was big. We've got Barbara Sturm coming up. That's exciting. What does Barbara do? She is a dermatologist and she has a skincare brand. She's based in the UK now, but she's German. She's a genius. So that's exciting for me because we get to talk science.

113:50

Tommy: Science? Yeah. Do you do science at school?

113:53

Gemma: No, I didn't. I didn't enjoy it. Didn't enjoy science or maths. Very good at science and maths.

113:58

Josh: Do you know the 20 elements? Oh no, that's the only thing I like.

114:02

Tommy: Hydrogen, helium, bore— what's this?

114:04

Josh: Hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, like goes on here. Yeah, great.

114:08

Tommy: Yeah. Wow. You need real-world application of these things, otherwise they just mean nothing in school. The lightest element, hydrogen, I believe.

114:17

Josh: Look it up. I just pointed to GB there for people playing at home.

114:23

Derek: What did, um, what did Gem say for her, the fast food that she would have?

114:28

Josh: The cuisine?

114:29

Gemma: Franchised food, I said Taco Bell, but cuisine, I said Italian because I don't love franchised Italian.

114:36

Josh: Do you want to, should we play the, the Grab? Yeah. Yeah, here we go. Tommy and I were spitballing ideas and we're thinking about potentially doing Josh has Nando's only, like only Nando's for an entire month.

114:50

Tommy: So nothing but Nando's for a month, like he cannot eat, like he would be able to eat like the McDonald's doco.

114:55

Gemma: Exactly, exactly.

114:56

Tommy: I think it's exactly the opposite though, it could be the opposite.

114:59

Josh: Did I lean out? Yeah, I just have the tenderloins.

115:03

Tommy: Abs by Nando's. Who would you, if you could have just like breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you had to eat 3 meals a day, what fast food would you have? I know her answer already.

115:16

Gemma: Well, I mean, does Taco Bell count? Yeah. We're really gunning for a sponsorship. I've never had Taco Bell. I think I was very hungry. What? Are you okay? I would love it.

115:28

Derek: Isn't it out in the sticks?

115:30

Josh: They're all over the place.

115:32

Gemma: No, there's one in the city.

115:33

Tommy: Could we get Taco Bell for lunch? There's Taco Bell.

115:38

Josh: Sorry. Disgusting.

115:39

Gemma: No, you don't want— You don't want takeaway Mexican. No, no, no, no, no. We had those nachos last night.

115:45

Tommy: They were phenomenal.

115:46

Josh: From a pizza shop. Yeah.

115:48

Tommy: Why did nachos—

115:49

Josh: I could tell that, like, I got the vibe that— Feel good. I got the vibe that when I did it, you were like, you were a little bit, what do you call it? Thrown aback by the fact that we said we're going to have pizza and I ordered nachos.

116:03

Tommy: You never said what we're going to have. Okay, so I was like, oh, you were happy with it. I was like, what's in this from a pizza store? Yeah, I thought they'll get, you know, wedges sometimes come from a pizza shop, and they were nachos, and they were really good. The guac was spot on, dude. Don't you reckon? Beautiful.

116:19

Derek: Uh, it is hydrogen, Josh. Well done.

116:21

Tommy: And George, um, you've got another bit of that. His headphone—

116:26

Josh: old— we're using some older headphones. In there moulting a little bit.

116:34

Tommy: Gemma, what have you got on today?

116:35

Gemma: This is obviously a good question. I have 3 copywriting deadlines and then I have to shoot some content for Witchery. Nice. White shirt campaign.

116:45

Josh: Is this linen? This is a nice linen.

116:48

Gemma: This is Assembly Label. You see Assembly Label a lot actually. They do good linen. Yeah. They do a good shirt. I was concerned I looked like a waiter. So then I just undid a button and went like this It's, um, I like how it's not that crease. Um, oh, it is. But the thing with— I wear so much linen, as you know, you just have to lean into the creases. And you can tell the difference between linen that has been ironed and then you've worn it so it's creased, and linen that you've just pulled.

117:15

Tommy: And which one, which one do you like?

117:17

Gemma: Uh, it's got to be ironed. I steam everything before I leave the house.

117:20

Josh: Yeah, you can tell. The, um, sort of—

117:22

Gemma: I was really fishing for that.

117:24

Josh: We got We got some linen for our bed. Which brand did you go? I should know. They're on Smith Street. Are you hearing some loud yelling or something? I just heard something outside. Jules Lund's here. There we go. There we go.

117:43

Tommy: All right. This is— Is he going to—

117:45

Josh: Oh, so yeah, he's going to come up.

117:49

Tommy: Jelly can sit on the couch.

117:50

Josh: Are you going to open up the—

117:51

Gemma: Um, yeah, I'll swap with him.

117:53

Josh: This is good. Okay, cute. All right, are you good, JB?

117:57

Tommy: Well, okay, before, um, Gemma Watts, thank you for coming on the Daily Talk Show. Somehow we rushed you off. We want to at least say we appreciate everything you've done for the Daily Talk Show, you being a part of this, being the queen. Oh yeah, I didn't wear a crown.

118:12

Gemma: We love you. I should have won a crown.
