Josh Janssen: [00:00:00] It's the daily talk show episode 913 means
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:07] wake in. Banta Jess Lucas in the building. Mr. Number seven. Ah, hello,
Josh Janssen: [00:00:13] Jessica. Hello, miss nice seven yesterday. It was, what were you gonna say? What were those hands
Mason Lauder: [00:00:18] things that you're doing? A lot of movement,
Josh Janssen: [00:00:19] just, uh, energy. It's good to it. And I may have had pre-workout.
Uh, like just the other, no, I didn't. Could you imagine though, like I know this is how I'd be, be acting two coffees in a pre-workout
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:31] shaking.
Josh Janssen: [00:00:32] Uh, no, it was exciting yesterday. We do a big media company, had organized a gift for mr 97 and in true fashion when I organize something, the delivery normally fucks up and there's delays.
But yesterday I picked it up from the PO box. And delivered it to your door serves. What was your reaction? Ah,
Mason Lauder: [00:00:56] well, I mean, so the funny thing I had no idea, and it's very difficult present to guess. And so this has been, I've been questioning people like I've been asking grace what it is up in. You asking Joshie what it is since November 1st and no one's told me
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:11] I've got great.
Mason Lauder: [00:01:16] trying to get it out of here. Everyone just being like, can you like, is it wearable? Like, what are you what's what's the whole deal with
Josh Janssen: [00:01:21] this? So it was an aura ring. Didn't you? I didn't buy one.
Mason Lauder: [00:01:25] That's why,
Josh Janssen: [00:01:28] but, um,
Mason Lauder: [00:01:29] yeah, so it CA it came in a box. Josh dropped it around yesterday and the box is probably, maybe, maybe like two, two and a half feet high and maybe two, like
Josh Janssen: [00:01:41] like,
Mason Lauder: [00:01:42] well, yeah.
And, and so I didn't, I had no idea cut. The scissors, opened it up and it came in all these different bits. And so the first thing that I saw.
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:52] Was the Josh walk out the door cause he didn't want to have to put it together,
Mason Lauder: [00:01:57] the unit itself. And it's like, it's got a hole at the front where it's shooting things out of it.
And then there are all these plastic balls. And so it's a, it's a baseball. Bull throw out a pitcher,
Josh Janssen: [00:02:13] it's a machine and it's got a, it's got an MLB logo on the side official. So it's official. The interesting thing was that the actual delivery box was the final box. So what you were shooting in these things is that you're going to open it up and it's going to come in this nice sort of box.
It was just, yeah. Beets all put in and it was very strange.
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:36] Yeah. And so can you please reveal it now and show us because it looks cool. Like, I think if you were down in the park and you saw it from afar, you'd think it's good. Yeah. It's a yellow,
Josh Janssen: [00:02:45] it looks more metal then there's no metal, it's all plastic, but it looks like metal and it's
Mason Lauder: [00:02:53] real solid.
So there's.
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:55] There's there's a little,
Mason Lauder: [00:02:56] um, switch on the side to turn it off and on and a little, uh, adjustment on the back to change the Heights. If you want to tilt it down or tilt it up, you can do that.
Tommy Jackett: [00:03:06] If you've ever seen one of the Primo orange juicing machines, it looks like it's feeding oranges into the juicer.
But then if you've seen a cricket ball, cricket, bowling machine that you just drop a ball in and it's, um, it's a mix between orange juicer and a cricket balling machine, but it has the power of an orange juice. Uh, I'm guessing based on the cost
Josh Janssen: [00:03:29] in true style, uh, if I was to ever have a kid, this would definitely happen, gave it to serves.
And I said, I don't have the, one of the main accessories that being a baseball bash and you just start making promises. There was no intent to get a baseball bat by my yeah. Baseball bat. We'll get that. Um, and then also, um, he couldn't use it until he got. Batteries, these special SI size batteries.
Mason Lauder: [00:03:58] Those there's fat, big circular batteries.
Tommy Jackett: [00:04:01] Yes. Bottom drawer. No, no, not ones.
Josh Janssen: [00:04:04] And so I was going to leave, says like, Oh yeah. So you'd like, is that fun? Is that good? Is that, yeah, it was like, um, it's a bit, shit. Me just leaving this here. If you can't actually use it. And so then I D did you hear that that's from all the fizzy water I'm having? I didn't like an internal burp, like telly.
Um, and so I, uh, I went to Kohl's and got C batteries. Also got like a few other little snacks, just cause that's not, if you're going to go to Kohl's, why not? It's a bit, a bit novel. And so when I went to Kohl's went back to Mason's gave him the batteries and so mace, you can actually have a crack right now.
I can turn it on. You don't have a bat. What are you going to do? Are you just going to do it? And he's, he's going to catch it for you. Is that the idea
Mason Lauder: [00:04:57] towards grace?
Tommy Jackett: [00:04:59] Um,
Mason Lauder: [00:05:00] and she she's got a glove.
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:02] All right, here we go.
Josh Janssen: [00:05:04] As a normal day, just bring it closer to your door so we can really say it. Yeah. Yeah.
Well,
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:11] it's um, it's got a little standard, just small. Yeah. Ah, okay. So it's just, yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:05:19] The pen go taller as well. Are you sure?
Mason Lauder: [00:05:22] I don't think you can go to them.
Josh Janssen: [00:05:23] I think I saw her on, on Amazon.
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:26] I mean, you can just hold, hold the, um, you could hold it, make it like a gun. No, no,
Josh Janssen: [00:05:31] no. I think it would just sort of take it off.
Is that a good
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:35] one? It's not as if you couldn't hold that thing. Look at it. All right. I'm going to turn it on. Here we go. He's
Josh Janssen: [00:05:42] tearing it off this one's normally.
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:46] Right. Here we go. It's winding
Josh Janssen: [00:05:47] up. Oh, hang on. Here we go.
How's grace going?
Oh, this is great.
Isn't that fun?
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:13] Sounds like a lawn mower. It does totally go. They say, did they get harder as they go saves? So it's like warming you up. Here we go. She's
Josh Janssen: [00:06:27] caught them all. Ah, great job. Great job.
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:31] Really good attendance. So
Josh Janssen: [00:06:33] what do you think it's what do you guys think? BMC side, do you think it was, um, a good, a good gift.
Jess Lucas: [00:06:43] Yeah, it was really thoughtful.
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:45] We
Josh Janssen: [00:06:45] did well. But do you think no, but I just, I was from all of us, but I just feel like, is it a bit dark? Like, is it a bit sick? Is it too silly?
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:54] No, I loved it.
Mason Lauder: [00:06:55] I loved it. I think it's a really great gift.
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:59] A silly gift can be a great gift as well. Sure.
Josh Janssen: [00:07:02] Yeah. Well, there's just so many.
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:05] Yeah. All the time. I think
Mason Lauder: [00:07:08] I was actually, I was actually saying to grace, it's great to have just in the room or on like a set, like a nice, like a prop in the background.
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:16] It is.
Mason Lauder: [00:07:17] Cause it just, it just looks really great.
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:19] Um, do you think it's like major league baseball, MLB D have they that branding, is it like getting a NBA branded thing from the South Melbourne market?
Oh, I
Josh Janssen: [00:07:33] feel like that's a license. Franklin is like the brand.
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:37] Okay.
Josh Janssen: [00:07:38] Is the, cause the thing is, I mean, this is this, this is a toy. This was designed for a child aged between six and 12. And so the, um, the problem was we initially
Mason Lauder: [00:07:51] trust a six year old with that, to be honest.
Josh Janssen: [00:07:53] Yeah, that's true. GB and I were, um, uh, looking at different options and we went.
To the extreme end to start. And so, you know, you've gone too far where it says, like call for a quote, like they won't even
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:06] put any amount it's going to cost.
Josh Janssen: [00:08:09] And it was also just it's industrial. Right? It's it's it would be for baseball teams and they probably run like 10 sausage sizzles for the year to try and raise up enough funds to get this
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:21] picture.
Josh Janssen: [00:08:22] Um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:22] I, my uncle owns a sports center and he used to have one that was a cricket center, which was even a nipple centers and soccer, indoor soccer, which I wasn't as fond of. There's something about like the nets and the, uh, cricket center indoors as well, specifically. And he used to have a, um, like, uh, industrial, I mean, it's just the big boys.
Version of what you're saying, you draw, it's like, it's got these two spinning sort of wheels and you drop a ball and it grabs it and puffs it. I wasn't ever allowed to use it. I was probably like six or seven, but I really wanted to use it. I shouldn't have, but I'd never got to, I was, it was so annoying.
I
Josh Janssen: [00:09:03] have to use the official Franklin bowls that are these light sort of plastic bowls you can't put in. Actual baseballs or tennis balls or anything like that. Okay.
Okay.
Mason Lauder: [00:09:15] Well, you could see why, like, I mean, if it didn't destroy, if it didn't actually break it, like it had smashed a window.
Josh Janssen: [00:09:21] Yeah. Yeah.
Mason Lauder: [00:09:22] Like if, if that force got sent through with an actual like tennis ball or a baseball, like it's, it would definitely destroy something.
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:29] I mean, isn't it.
Josh Janssen: [00:09:32] So that was a good gift. I'm not, yes.
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:34] Is it worth, is it worth putting some other things through it? Not, not like maybe
Josh Janssen: [00:09:39] blend sort of thing. I don't want
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:40] it so cool. Like, can you throw the scream?
Josh Janssen: [00:09:45] Yeah. Could we have, do
Mason Lauder: [00:09:46] we have warranty?
Josh Janssen: [00:09:48] That's come from the U S I can't imagine I imagined it, but I just enjoyed the sort of like, this is from America.
This is, this came from Kentucky.
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:58] Is that weird? Yeah, but originally Asia. China maybe,
Josh Janssen: [00:10:02] maybe, or maybe
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:03] 100% as if they can get those things out of America. Like the actually made in America. I mean, that's, they really don't really beat the horn or toot the horn on if it's made in
Josh Janssen: [00:10:14] America show. You'd probably say it more.
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:16] It'd be written all over it like Australia, I guess. Made in Australia. Did anyone have a orange cannon as a, as a kid or
Josh Janssen: [00:10:24] a man? Like the lemon gun
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:25] lemon, GaN, orange, whatever orange cannon lemons that you just have to have
Jess Lucas: [00:10:31] onto the little pebble tips. And then they it's like, it's an actual gun firearm gun.
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:36] Oh no, no, no. These are like, Uh, it looks almost like a weapon of mass destruction there, like a pipe that has a cylinder that then you spray with a fly straight. And then you, you turn the, put the, um, put the end on it, screw it on. And it's got a little spark. And there's a orange jammed down the front pipe and then the pressure of it exploding sends the orange straight out the front.
Very good.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:05] Yeah. Yeah. But fun. Did
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:06] you have one Josh?
Josh Janssen: [00:11:07] No. A friend did.
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:09] Yeah. Always.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:10] There's always one noisy friend,
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:12] but it's always better to have. I didn't want to make it. Yeah. I didn't want death on my hand. Oh, definitely.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:17] You know,
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:19] that was great. What
Josh Janssen: [00:11:20] about guns? Did anyone have a Spud gun growing up?
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:24] No, no.
So
Josh Janssen: [00:11:26] a SPAD gun was, it would take it's actually really lame, but, um, I got right into it. A Spud gun was like, you'd take a potato. And, um, you would, uh, Pierce the potato with the, the end of the gun and it would hold a bit of the potato and then you'd shoot it out.
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:45] Um, I'm just looking at these. So BB guns were big when we were young, Josh.
Um, and there's something new. Did you get, did you ever, ever have a BB gun? It was always like, could you go to Chinatown and find some dodgy joint? That's got important.
Josh Janssen: [00:12:02] I was very scared of that stuff. The closest thing I had was a, um, Cap gun, but I had some of the good, so there was the, there were the two types of caps.
There were the ones where it was, um, so like a circular round where it's like red or whatever. And they had a sort of, um, the gum powder or whatever it is in the little holes. But then there was another one, which was like a paper style where it would feed through the back. Of the, the gun and it would, that one was really, that was more of the, um, what you would see it like little athletics or whatever those guns were.
Great. I enjoyed them.
Tommy Jackett: [00:12:39] There is something going on at the moment. They're, um, they're called gel blasters and this, and th they've banned these gel blasters because they look, you can literally get a assault rifle looking plastic. Gun that shoots these gel balls and they've banned them in, um, Victoria and a bunch of other States, but Queensland of course, and Adelaide, you can go to town, but it's huge.
I've been like, I. The problem is you watch one video. Cause I saw a guy as a surgeon, an Australian guy, who's got a, quite a big Instagram holding this huge fucking machine gun. I was like, is this fucking guy for real? Like, is he found some, someone's got a machine gun in Australia and he's actually parsing a photo with it or a video with it.
And at the end he goes, guys, don't worry. This is a gel blaster. And I was like, Oh, hang on. Okay. What's a gels, like a paint gun. So it is not as hard as the paint ball gun. So it doesn't leave the marks. You've done paint ball.
Josh Janssen: [00:13:41] No, I've had many people, many people at the cell shopping center try and sell me and fast.
Tommy Jackett: [00:13:48] It's dumb because it's painful. And it's not that not as, not, not that fun. It's. I mean, I've done because
Mason Lauder: [00:13:55] you get massive bruises on you. Like your lakes and stuff like messy, like,
Josh Janssen: [00:13:59] so we wouldn't do it yourself. I'd organize. If I'd, if I'd gone to Xapo. And I potentially bought a whole team bonding exercise that cost me a lot of money.
Would you guys still go?
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:09] What I would say is firstly, you've fucked up because what you pay for you end up paying double at the center really?
Josh Janssen: [00:14:15] Oh, because you have to pay the ones and stuff.
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:17] Want more emo, you want more emo, you want more, you have done it. You have done it.
Josh Janssen: [00:14:24] Uh, I haven't, Jess just needs, she's just like messaged.
She needs to get a charger. That's fine. She's had a big
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:29] for the computer
Josh Janssen: [00:14:29] for a computer. So it doesn't
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:31] I'm talking guns. That's all right.
Josh Janssen: [00:14:33] Don't put the mindset on that.
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:37] Give me a sec
Josh Janssen: [00:14:38] where she go?
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:40] Yeah. Oh my God. Where's all that noise floor gone. Not it's computer going off. It's probably your fan saying I'm on my last legs.
I'm on my last legs
Jess Lucas: [00:14:52] turned red. I was like,
Josh Janssen: [00:14:54] fuck you, your FA your CA is that a computer? Um, charger. It's very, ah, yeah.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:01] Anyway, you usually have to buy a shitload more ammo than what they pay that they give you. And so by that time, you're like spending, spending big on emo because you want, you don't want to run out in the field.
It's very annoying, but these gel blast is a half the pain and. They don't require the gas cylinders, like. The pipe guns, they are electronic. And so you can, but anyway, it was interesting cause this guy's like pointing out that it is a gel blast. And then I went on this rabbit hole and now I can't stop getting ads pushed to me of this guy at a gel blaster shop in Queensland.
Talking about them and they have to talk like you can see them behind us. I can't say what they are because YouTube will take our ad down. Ah, interesting. We have our spot here in Queensland. You can come in and see all our or range, which is behind us. Like it's the gel,
Mason Lauder: [00:15:52] the gel balls look like caviar.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:55] Yeah. They're um, more biodegradable than they just disappear. It's just water. And they just like, say the shit that's left after those paint ball. Things bright. Interesting. It's everywhere. Anyway.
Josh Janssen: [00:16:10] Nice. Where do you think we should go for our Christmas party? I was speaking about it on Thursday.
Tommy Jackett: [00:16:15] Um,
Josh Janssen: [00:16:19] Oh
Tommy Jackett: [00:16:19] yeah, look,
Mason Lauder: [00:16:21] it's, it's hard. Like,
Josh Janssen: [00:16:22] I mean, that's positive because like I, so the thing is you and I, we can tend to go, I don't want this. I don't want that. What put out some positive stuff. What are some things that you would really like.
Mason Lauder: [00:16:35] Well, I mean, something like, um, I think, I mean, it's very niche, but I think the, you know, the surfing place, uh, TJ, that artificial surfing place, like it's, it's very slightly, cause I don't think the whole team will like it, but I think that'd be interesting.
Tommy Jackett: [00:16:50] That would be the other one
Mason Lauder: [00:16:51] is, and I think everyone would enjoy it. We could do like an arcade, 10 pin bowling, one. I think that would be, yeah, that would be something that everyone would enjoy. Get your tickets,
Tommy Jackett: [00:17:00] get your, yeah.
Mason Lauder: [00:17:01] And we get you at the party food in a bit of laser tag.
Tommy Jackett: [00:17:06] Yeah. Crank crown. Yeah.
Crown. Crown's got it as well. Yeah. They've got striking then it is really fun. I would just wonder about the, um, what they're trying to do with COVID because it takes a photo every time you bowl. And so you end up getting the team to come down close to the end and they, and you jump. Into the photo. And so someone's bowling looking back in the photos being taken.
It's so fun. We did it with a big pack of like 15 of us. And I had as my profile pic for awhile, but it was awesome. So you're like, got someone doing this big over-exaggerated ball and then everyone's like, John, so you could, you could do some fun team stuff at that point.
Josh Janssen: [00:17:47] And he could have been a tutor.
Is it too much to do a two day thing? Where it's like we do. Yeah. Like we do somewhere. Like you say, if we were to do somewhere, like, I mean, it's, it's pretty, we've only got what, like less than, uh, less than a month, uh, or just, just under four weeks. Um, imagine we could do something. I like the idea of doing something healthy on the, on one of the days.
So for instance, like a big team hike in the Grampians or something. And then
Jess Lucas: [00:18:17] we go to a winery and then a winery
Josh Janssen: [00:18:18] or something. Yeah. The second day. Okay.
Mason Lauder: [00:18:20] So you want a bit more upper in dark zone or?
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:24] Well, yeah,
Josh Janssen: [00:18:26] I just think that I'm just imagining the it's, as TJ said, it's going to be a bit tricky with the COVID staff.
Okay. But I don't know, like a, vineyard's just going to be hectic. Is everyone going to have this idea?
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:40] I mean, everyone's got the idea if we want to do a Christmas party cause it's Victoria and it's been held for eight months and it was already,
Jess Lucas: [00:18:49] sorry. I was gonna say, at least with wineries is open air and we can go, we can walk down the.
The actual vineyard things. Um, but if we go to glottic circus, it's going to be people everywhere.
Josh Janssen: [00:19:01] The other thing to consider is they're not going to be able to allow heaps of people
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:05] now.
Josh Janssen: [00:19:06] So actually be less busy. There'll be less busy than normal in regards to like the vineyards, because they're going to have to don't you think.
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:16] Well, there'll be less busy because they have to do time slots like jeans, but it doesn't mean that there's not people touching everything and being, you know, doing what you do with her a game center. I mean, every time I've done a games center as an adult, I've felt like it's a bit comical because organism is children everywhere, like right.
Did he, 21st at, at a, one of the bits was going laser tag, but then you've got all these cute. I'm just. Slaying kids. I'm just fucking, absolutely destroying all these miners in that joint with my laser. Got well,
Josh Janssen: [00:19:52] so I've done it for what? You just, you have the whole it's. If you have enough people say if there's nine or 10 of us or whatever, like I said, if there's 10, there's like five minutes.
And so then it's two teams of five.
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:05] Yeah, it is good. I S I was sweating a lot, mate. It's very sweaty in those joints and you go, Oh, I hadn't even thought about putting on that. All that attire that drapes over you. I mean, not the business you want to be in necessarily at this point, but horseback, a winery tour, you can do that, Danny and down the peninsula, not driving.
They, you get a horse and take you between,
Josh Janssen: [00:20:30] Oh, really?
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:30] What happened?
Jess Lucas: [00:20:33] I thank you for asking, um, it was traumatizing. No, I, I went to, we have this thing called ironbark and Bendigo, and I went on one of the trail rides and cause your horses are back to back and mine just went skits and like, it didn't fall off or anything.
It was just really scary and they're just, they've got their own mind, you know, and they can do whatever the fuck they want. And that's what I don't like about them. Cause it. These big buses,
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:55] that's a power play between you and the horse. They've got more power than you. So you don't like the status. They just,
Jess Lucas: [00:21:03] you know, They do random shit.
Josh Janssen: [00:21:06] It sounds like you're describing us facets together. I'm on that random shit. And I'm like, it
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:13] sounds predictable shitting everywhere.
Josh Janssen: [00:21:16] The horses. Um, yeah. Okay. Well, yeah, we need to work it. We can talk about it off offline.
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:22] I do like
Jess Lucas: [00:21:23] the idea though, of doing yeah. Like some sort of hat bucket thing picking out, and then we'll see.
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:29] Sure. A mini all you need is a mini bus and then can take us to a few destinations and there's three benches.
Mason Lauder: [00:21:37] Do you want it to be spontaneous thing where everything gets thrown into a hat and it's spontaneous? What would you like a bit more
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:43] bite knowing are we doing, um, we'd wait
Josh Janssen: [00:21:47] anywhere.
Mason Lauder: [00:21:49] 10 places,
Josh Janssen: [00:21:51] book places, and don't rock up at one.
Jess Lucas: [00:21:54] What about, what about a scavenger hunt?
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:58] Yeah. I don't mind walking an
Mason Lauder: [00:22:00] amazing day and amazing race and amazing race through the city.
Tommy Jackett: [00:22:04] We did that during school, but this drinking, this drinking, Jason, I've got Camelbacks full of Woodstock bourbon.
Jess Lucas: [00:22:12] And what are the other boys got?
Tommy Jackett: [00:22:14] Um, Josh has Bacardi breezes and sh saves heads, Smirnoff, double blacks.
Josh. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Negroni's now he's good. Oh my
Josh Janssen: [00:22:27] God.
Tommy Jackett: [00:22:28] It's yeah,
Josh Janssen: [00:22:31] we could do some sort of world, like we could, um, I've been thinking about like an idea of like a travel, like, um, a theme where you like it's a country or whatever. Hmm.
Oh, yeah, like it's
Tommy Jackett: [00:22:46] all relating to food at that point.
Josh Janssen: [00:22:50] there's a great, um, a travel journalist named Rick Steves. Look. What do you think? Nice. And
Mason Lauder: [00:22:58] I don't think the whole, team's going to be super thrilled about watching travel documentaries. That would be aired on SBS.
Josh Janssen: [00:23:09] You don't like it when we do that, Mason.
Mason Lauder: [00:23:11] No, I do. I think it's, I think it's very funny, but I reckon.
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:15] After an hour, it's like the president you've got him. Josh. It's silly.
Josh Janssen: [00:23:19] Very funny
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:21] on loving the documentary. Mason thinks it's funny. I
Josh Janssen: [00:23:24] said, we're moving. Maybe we could do it. I thought it could be fun. Like imagine it's like, okay, wait, going to, um, we're going to watch a Rick Steves documentary of Germany.
And then we get some German food delivered and we have some German alcohol and we sit and watch them documentary. I understand my brother go. What, what do they, what is, um, what sort of hard liquor did the Germans do?
Mason Lauder: [00:23:47] Chin and Germany.
Josh Janssen: [00:23:49] Wait a minute. Virgin different
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:51] a German company, a boutique 2020 company that's come out of Germany.
That
Josh Janssen: [00:23:56] makes it then gin. Oh, no. Ah, yes, this there's. No, that's not, that's not it.
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:01] Oh, mean going to a distillery, having a tasting, all this shit is
Jess Lucas: [00:24:07] fun. That'd be fun.
Josh Janssen: [00:24:10] That's the big thing. Isn't it? Because it's like this stuff's going to get booked. So who's going to be in charge.
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:16] Well, yeah, I mean, you're the admin guy now based on Jess's mentorship.
And
Josh Janssen: [00:24:22] so, I mean, I've never in my life. I don't know if it's a good idea.
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:27] No, I know it literally needs, you need the decision of what it is, and then that's the risk
Jess Lucas: [00:24:32] because if it's,
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:33] if it's a winery,
Josh Janssen: [00:24:35] did you mention actually, TJ? I was, I was looking at stuff. Did you mention the cocoa? That could be a fun thing.
It could be a bad advice,
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:44] Coco,
Josh Janssen: [00:24:44] but he's real Bogan.
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:46] It's. Yeah, but that's the
Josh Janssen: [00:24:48] beauty, that's the fun? Like what are you something like if we were to have a bit of a, a Bogan weekend?
Jess Lucas: [00:24:54] Well, we'll do one of those donuts down the Yarra,
Josh Janssen: [00:24:58] like the Jimmy gallons.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:00] No. And what about the water?
Mason Lauder: [00:25:02] You know,
Josh Janssen: [00:25:03] you're on the water.
Mason Lauder: [00:25:04] I was thinking, yeah. I mean, a bit of it's a bit more Primo, but you can get one of those go boats.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:09] Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:25:09] Yeah. I mean,
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:11] I don't mind that I wrote down. I mean, I've got my license a bit loose
Josh Janssen: [00:25:15] stop.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:17] If we want to go bigger, I'll get something
Josh Janssen: [00:25:19] bigger. It could be awesome. Or it could just.
Mason Lauder: [00:25:24] Crash, bring the business down.
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:26] Oh, what about
Jess Lucas: [00:25:29] liability comes in
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:31] the donut thing? There's ones in, in the dock lands where they are the shape of a donut and they do have you drive them, but they've got a barbecue on them. And so you sit around this, have you it's the five, six years of my life.
Jess Lucas: [00:25:45] It was fun because of the group that I had.
But because what happens is
Josh Janssen: [00:25:52] Yeah.
Jess Lucas: [00:25:52] Yeah. The actual don't you drive from here to like, it's like 20 meters. You have to dock yourself into like this, um, boy, that's already there. It's windy as shit. The barbecue barely works. You feed her in water. Yeah.
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:07] Oh no. Oh
Josh Janssen: [00:26:08] God. This almost feels like you're part of some sort of survival thing, you know, like 300 days at sea.
Jess Lucas: [00:26:15] It felt like that I was like, get me off this piece of
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:17] shit. I'd rather do the one that Tali smart did some promos for, uh, out on the Yarra, on an electric boat. Have yeah. I'd rather that. Yeah. The other complication
Josh Janssen: [00:26:31] of that shit, Jess, can you tell us, so you, you had, uh, an episode with Tali and. Uh, drew. So drew was, uh, on big brother with tally.
They sort of had a fling. You did the episode and it comes out on Tuesday, too much. Tally every Tuesday. What was the vibe like? Can you give us an exclusive,
Jess Lucas: [00:26:54] um, tell me this era. It was so funny. Wasn't it? Tommy? I can start laughing again.
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:00] It was
Jess Lucas: [00:27:01] into these laughing
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:02] holes. It was lost in the desert vibes.
You know,
Josh Janssen: [00:27:06] Thursday,
Jess Lucas: [00:27:09] is it
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:11] delusional?
Josh Janssen: [00:27:11] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was just like, cause I asked Jess, I said, how did it go? And she said, I couldn't stop laughing.
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:18] Um, Jess was on fire.
Josh Janssen: [00:27:20] It was great.
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:21] What was she saying? I mean, best on ground. Um,
Josh Janssen: [00:27:26] what sort of things
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:28] you just going to have to
Jess Lucas: [00:27:29] remember the first time, what we were even laughing?
I can remember the second time,
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:34] but just, um, appropriate amounts of inappropriateness, if that makes sense.
Jess Lucas: [00:27:42] Thanks for being inappropriate
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:44] on the line, which is all just so fucking
Jess Lucas: [00:27:46] hard in real life
Josh Janssen: [00:27:48] in real life.
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:51] Yeah.
Jess Lucas: [00:27:51] Um, one of the grumps, uh, messaged me overnight
Tommy Jackett: [00:27:55] female
Jess Lucas: [00:27:57] and asked me about it. She said, how'd you go?
Josh Janssen: [00:28:00] I was like, I
Jess Lucas: [00:28:01] can't even talk about it. I'm in love. And then she goes, He's so dreamy. I remember being sorry into Drolly on big brother.
I said, Oh my God. Saying how funny you should love next week's episode. Then it was funny and we'll make extra video content for this one too. Like Winky face.
Josh Janssen: [00:28:20] He felt like, I couldn't imagine being in the situation where I had people ogling over me or sort of giving that vibe, but what was the TJ looking at it with?
Did he just have a swagger to it? Was he like it? Nice. Was it like, what was the, what was the vibe. I mean,
Tommy Jackett: [00:28:36] you're talking to a stripper extra who had that. Um, it's
Josh Janssen: [00:28:44] it's so you felt like Jess was treating him like a stripper?
Tommy Jackett: [00:28:48] Absolutely.
The similarities between that episode and me being a stripper is they're talking about you and you're fucking right in front of them.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:07] Look at his ass,
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:08] look at these beautiful face, man. I'm right here. All right. But there's something that you ended up leaning into it and that's all ego at that point.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:16] You're
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:17] like, Oh yeah, this is feels fucking good, but it is it's
Jess Lucas: [00:29:20] it's as well.
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:22] Exactly. That's why I think it's. It's not negative. You just deal with it. And I think he doesn't mind it. Like it's not, it doesn't come across as awkward at any point in that way. It's um, it's fun. It was fun. And you were fun.
Jesse was so cheeky and fun, which, yeah, this
Jess Lucas: [00:29:39] is what happens when I drink us.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:43] Amazing. What's happening in your life? What's news. Um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:49] on
Mason Lauder: [00:29:50] our way, we're going to a wine bar tonight.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:52] Oh, really?
Mason Lauder: [00:29:53] Which will be, which will be great. Uh, Oh, I can't remember what it's called. I think it's in, um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:01] it starts
Mason Lauder: [00:30:01] with Al
Josh Janssen: [00:30:07] Are you going to have wine? I think
Mason Lauder: [00:30:10] I probably should fits in Fitzroy gracious. Mrs. Fitzroy
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:15] have one.
Mason Lauder: [00:30:17] So that'll be very exciting.
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:18] Um, you're
Josh Janssen: [00:30:19] going to have Y so red Rosa,
Mason Lauder: [00:30:23] uh, Red's too strong. I don't like the flavor of white either. So. I don't know. What is the roadside test like?
Josh Janssen: [00:30:33] Is that a bit like sparkling?
Mason Lauder: [00:30:35] Is it a bit of sparkling water with a bit of like raspberry flavor in it?
Josh Janssen: [00:30:39] Is that all right? sparkling. Is it
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:43] pushed through on the Pino? Pushed through with some light? Just say what's the lightest red that you have and they'll give you something. What about
Josh Janssen: [00:30:50] paint out for a hot day?
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:52] It's weird because I used to drink cab serve as an 18 year old, 19 year old.
It wasn't about it's optics at that point. I mean, you're pretty sophisticated if you're 18 loving a fucking cab Sev next to the fire, like joining the flavor, it's a red, it's pretty heavy though. And so nice
Josh Janssen: [00:31:13] about like the, I think it was something in the, like having a steak or having some sort of like hearty meal and then having a Shiraz.
That combo. I really liked.
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:23] There's a one though. Cause I wanted to like wine. I didn't necessarily hate it. I just wasn't it wasn't it wasn't sitting perfectly with me. Like it somehow you just get older and you're like, Hmm, this is fucking heaven. I don't know what's going on in my mouth, but it's. Yeah. So that's where you gotta to lean in.
Says you're doing that though, but you go into a bloody wine bar. Well done. Good work.
Mason Lauder: [00:31:49] Is that a thing?
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:53] Is it catch cheese and wine, but is it
Josh Janssen: [00:31:55] more dinner beforehand or what's the
Mason Lauder: [00:31:58] no, no, no, no. You have dinner there surely. Okay.
Josh Janssen: [00:32:00] Oh, okay. Well I think so. Okay.
Mason Lauder: [00:32:03] You're sure you just not having changing tables.
Josh Janssen: [00:32:05] I'm actually, I don't know enough. Like I've w I guess you, you would sort of have like platters and things like that, or the wine bottle
Mason Lauder: [00:32:14] steak at a wine bar. You can get a stack. Surely it's like a pub. Like dude
Jess Lucas: [00:32:19] kind of wind
Josh Janssen: [00:32:20] by a owl. Is it online?
Mason Lauder: [00:32:25] I can actually get the, um, hang on.
Tommy Jackett: [00:32:27] Yeah. So Jesse, have you been to, have you been to the two rack wine bar?
Jess Lucas: [00:32:31] Chuck wine sellers
Tommy Jackett: [00:32:32] too. Yeah. Terrific wine. So let's, have you been there
Jess Lucas: [00:32:35] bloody
Tommy Jackett: [00:32:35] love that I haven't been there, but what if in terms of that being a it's in there? Ah, yeah. Well, if
Josh Janssen: [00:32:40] you're going, if, if they count Napier quarter as a wine bar, I didn't realize that that was considered a wine bar. Yeah. You'll definitely be able to eat.
Like, um, Napier quarter, which is, um, in Fitzroy. Where do you know where you're going? If you're going Napier quarter. That's awesome. But it's with an owl, you said? Yeah. Is it bar Liberty?
Mason Lauder: [00:33:01] I have no idea. What
Josh Janssen: [00:33:02] did you find out?
Mason Lauder: [00:33:04] Sure. You'll be able to have like, yeah, I'm sure they'll have like proper foods in there and just like.
Josh Janssen: [00:33:11] Yeah. I'm actually surprised at how much fruit, like I'm just looking at some wine bars here, but even stuff that's not necessarily that sophisticated. Like I think I can say a Mac and cheese.
Mason Lauder: [00:33:22] I would say I w like I would assume that you'd be able to have like some passer or Knocky or
Josh Janssen: [00:33:28] yum, you know,
Tommy Jackett: [00:33:30] someone's like, I'm hungry.
I need to go cook some food right now,
Josh Janssen: [00:33:36] talking to hubs. All right. Great. Well, uh, you'll have to report back service. Yeah on how you go. Great. Okay. They'll FaceTime
Tommy Jackett: [00:33:47] or ask the waiter.
Mason Lauder: [00:33:50] Yeah, that'd probably
Tommy Jackett: [00:33:52] personalize approach. Right guys.
Josh Janssen: [00:33:55] What is your approach? Jess is the one with the highest percentage.
Jess Lucas: [00:34:00] Exactly.
Josh Janssen: [00:34:03] All right. It's a deli. Tosha. Have a good one guys.
Say tomorrow, say
guys.
