It's the daily Talk Show Episode 797. Ryan, john. Well,
0:11
good to see you. You've. You're wearing emerge.
0:14
Yeah. Where am I daily talk show Woody and I've got I've got beef. First of all, Tommy, what are you wearing? The Daily talk show hoodie. Josh?
0:21
The hoodie and Yeah, you've got it. You've got some mints. Some some beef.
0:27
Yeah. George really wearing.
0:28
I've got the crewneck on.
0:30
Yeah. 97 I've got the gronk squad t shirt on. You better than that.
0:36
Everyone's wearing the daily talk show stuff except you
0:42
a part of the outside. So
0:45
I say you mean he's just not wearing his uniform. Yeah, exactly.
0:49
That's my first piece of beef. My second piece of beef is George. Okay. Yeah. Do you know what that's about?
0:54
Now? What is it you What did you When did you call me? I did. I called you last night. What you say Well, I mean, we'll get to record a hump day replay. Yeah, but what happened? Just I needed to do a few more things. He bogs me
1:12
down and for legal purposes let's say pre Wednesday I drive down from the country to do Hump Day replay. I was at a servo in ballin, which is about halfway, he calls and guys busy actually
1:25
on on Tommy and I was like, What
1:27
am I doing? You're talking shit because you were coming down to do some errands. Am I right?
1:32
I was making the most of my trip while I was down here.
1:37
Appreciate you going out of your way to come down here that we will have another time. Hopefully the content I prepared is still relevant.
1:45
So Amy, gonna bring something to you guys. We've had a blow up many times, but not this bad. Now, not this consistent. This one has been a debate or an argument in the past. Haha, Eric in once a week so he and a grey car yep Tucson you know small size SUV.
2:07
So is this pay without this say without pay
2:10
gas when you get a great product you don't pay again. That's not that's not true anyway so you know in the car it's like a 2016 model
2:20
three long long yeah those
2:21
cars you can leave the lights on all the time when you turn the car off nice you just lock it and the lights go off. Mine's the same.
2:28
I've never turn my lights off ever.
2:30
Yeah, so I don't do that. I don't turn my lights off ever. Yeah, but Amy's like your lights are on when we're driving in the daytime. I'm like, doesn't matter. I don't think about it. But she's like no, you have to show last night we're driving on the highway. lights are on. And I was like this wouldn't have happened if you let me leave my lights on the whole time. So your lights on all the time guy.
2:51
Yeah, not only does it save you from that problem, but if your lights are on during the day, apparently you're statistically less likely to be run into because you're more vicious. Even though it's daylight really makes others more aware of you when the lights are on,
3:04
JJ I'm I always have the lights on. Yeah, doesn't matter what time of day
3:08
I change it. I gotta go back to the light, light and well in the car because I mean she drives a shared vehicle. She turns the lights all the way off.
3:17
Why isn't that? I
3:20
don't know. She thinks it's something to do with power. I tell you what, it's like it's war. I'm worried about the power. I'm like, right? It's like fuel transfer.
3:27
battery charges itself and
3:29
it's got a transformer from the fuel that has the better wheels going around. So you gotta drive anyway. Yeah, drive and it spins the wheels which spins a transformer that then charges the battery. How the fuck do you think the battery charges? That's interesting.
3:44
I didn't know that. I would say that joke. That's how regenerative braking is, you know,
3:48
he's dad's a car guy. You guys don't have a bone in this fight? Because you don't draw. Yeah, that's right design. I think 2016 Yeah. All right. So
3:57
I've looked when I was in here, I took a look at the financials. A big meeting. I'm predicting you guys will get a new car soon. The business the business will get a car or personally you tell the taxman whatever you need to tell him to write it off. Wait, what I'm getting models for automatic so Bridget and I have the same car we both drive Volkswagen Golf. Volkswagen Golf. Yeah, but hers is two years newer, and the lights automatically turn themselves on at night. Yeah, so she doesn't have to touch them either. So
4:24
we have an auto setting. Yep, you can either just have always on that shuts off anyway, when you lock the car auto setting which does go through tunnel lights go on. It's just recognised. I hope so because I get like you think that you're getting flashed by some troll, dude, they're just going under a tonne. Yeah, and I'm ready to blow up on the road. So let's fucking go.
4:47
Yeah, does that to you guys. Do you think out of the three of us that Tommy would be the angriest driver?
4:52
Yeah, I've seen it. Heavy. Oh yeah, you blow up. When we were driving back from from venture I pay You guys were fighting the hallway in the car.
5:03
That's that
5:07
dad fighting in the front who was driving that stage I was driving. And then we did the whole piece on on it. It was like okay with this run this pass, right? Okay, if you're coming on to so say you, you're in the suburbs, and you want to jump onto the Monash freeway. Yep. And so you've read onto the sort of inlet bit to the highway who gives way the person who's just entered the highway or the person on the highway? I think it's the person on the highways responsibility to get the fuck out of the way of the person coming in. Thank you. That's what I said
5:40
probably not legally but ethically and morally they
5:42
don't you think that the so? Yeah, the thing was that TJ was Jesus No, but the answer Tell me what I'm just trying to work out what what you think so because he's moving to the middle of the show really raping
5:54
me, you're just not in the middle. So I think that the way I think that If you're trying to merge onto the freeway, you have to expect that the car going 100 Ks an hour is is the person to look out for it like so are you trying to join a good person on the highway will know that there's an on ramp and leave room either by speeding up or moving in or you move like that's not a dat but the question was, what's what's the rule? And so because it's giving way to the freeway, the person entering the freeway has to give way to the hundred technically the car
6:31
technically Yes, technically, morally ethically not. And if you drive a real car instead of a handout, you could have just flown past them anyway,
6:38
I was trying to work out why did we what was the argument? Were you trying to? You weren't letting someone in?
6:45
I think what happened was tell me you were driving, and you just stayed in the left lane and you floored it. And I think the person was coming to merge on and Josh got angry because you should have moved over.
6:57
Oh, yeah. And so my point is that it's too dangerous. to suddenly break it. 100 kilometres. Oh, yeah, yeah. Which would have been to you? Oh,
7:04
yeah, that was coming.
7:06
Yeah. But so but what are they meant to be thinking? Well, so no the thing they know that you know.
7:12
So to your point, if it's dangerous to suddenly slow down, don't you think that you should also be considerate when you're on the freeway around? Are there is someone going to be entering? Am I giving them enough room? Are they going to have to do some sort of crazy manoeuvre,
7:29
they don't have to do a crazy manoeuvre because they know that they are entering a freeway and you have to be very cautious and give why the rule is give way too,
7:38
but you were driving to the point where they get to the end of their line, and they're gonna have to slow below 100 but if it's, they're not looking, and everyone should be looking.
7:50
I was looking. I just knew it was
7:53
nice when you were saying mom and dad were fighting is this Well, yeah,
7:56
definitely wasn't that extreme. It wasn't that extreme. Like, it wasn't Getting getting a feel for a big screen where they're about to hit a brick wall and if I don't
8:03
move on, if it was Yeah, but I don't know why like,
8:07
saving
8:09
grace. I heard her saying that your front sight driver
8:13
Ah, yeah now my real friends a
8:15
very guy they
8:17
just drive in the middle line. Don't drive in the left line don't drive on the on ramp line. I mean that's what people coming onto the freeway stay in the middle one
8:26
a lot. That's a great that's a great idea. Yeah,
8:27
you know? Well, it because then the middle line is always just jumping into the fast line if you need jump back into the middle.
8:34
Want to happen so but it was a two lane freeway
8:37
that wasn't it's a three lane freeway, the monitor freeway. I think the fight came from Josh, you were like, you could have moved over then. Why did you know so Tommy said I don't have to.
8:48
I just appreciate George's Yeah, George has he's the pink. The arc that you got very aggressive. So just quickly.
8:57
The three lane freeway the Monash freeway, The hallway or all the way
9:03
down into Rancho is it is Aiden rise on the entry. Not sure about am wrong. This is not a Hang on. Can you look up the nary warrant like Belgrave Hallam? I've a feeling that it's a it's your house in the middle line. Yeah,
9:19
which is the left line
9:20
because it was only two line at that point. So the on ramps should have given way if there's only two lanes, there's no middle lane.
9:27
Right, cool. I wonder what a driving instructor driving instructor would say, obviously, it's like rod or whatever, but it's like the person who's learning is explained. You need to give why these people are going to be going fast. So you need to come on to the highway. Like it's in films like young drivers too scared to get on. And so in America in LA, it's like five lines and it's like, too scary because everyone flying at 120 and so it's a it's a scary thing I filed my
9:58
drive is my for my patient.
10:01
Once or more once and then got it
10:03
successfully the next day. What do you What? How?
10:05
How did you know?
10:06
So you know, when you're coming up to a mosque, it's a red light but like an orange light and you get to that situation and you're like, Am I doing it?
10:15
Everyone did it? I did.
10:16
Yeah, I did it and the thing is that we probably all do it every day. But in a test probably you shouldn't
10:24
I thought that would have respected that. Well, that's what I thought I was like, do you
10:27
want me to slow down? Because I'm in a test situation or do you want me to get a slice of what my everyday things gonna be like?
10:33
I feel like you should know the rule. very specifically concerned by red lights. And it was coming up to her ambilight orange
10:42
while going red before before.
10:47
All right. So I said on my phone ran a red light and it was technically speeding because when it's red, the speed limit is zero. So I was in theory about the limit. Oh my god.
10:57
I don't know if that's cheating, right?
11:00
Fine you don't get a speeding salmon. Double so
11:04
there's a FedEx break of a lot it does double but it's
11:07
not it's not based on the speed limit being zero. Never
11:11
know, like above 6040
11:13
I would have thought that we would have like you know finish the test and then you get the thing and you pass off as soon as I do that he's like, he can just pull over here to the left and I was like, oh what am I just here like there's no straight just pull over and then he's like, get out. And then the driving instructor drivers back would talk
11:29
Yeah, I think I'm sorry.
11:32
By the way, it's a it's a train line just on really straight
11:36
straight line of code not
11:37
yet three lines and then plus the on on race another country, right.
11:42
amber light means stop unless you check. No,
11:47
no, go Okay. I'll just go along the
11:50
ambilight means I thought a lot men have cracks on now. It means stop unless unsafe to do so I'm pretty sure that we went While I told the police it was Amber, pretty sure it was red when I was young was in a car accident. But yeah, no good stop unless unsafe to do so. But then there's the admin if you have that argument, but it was fucking unsafe to do so I had a bloody heavy load in the back. Kids were fighting. Yeah, and I just had to have to
12:20
have a dad arguing about how many lines in the morning
12:23
Yeah, he's at eight and riser is it?
12:28
No, shout out to child venture I pay as well venture I pay if you need web hosting if you use the promo code. What's a DTS you today as you'll get 50% off shared hosting fee first year to great use the code Ryan john Yeah, to get
12:43
56% you can
12:47
see all their widescreen monitors that they got the other night. No, they probably got like 50 widescreen Lj monitors. Yeah,
12:53
maybe get one.
12:54
We need that. What are you saying Charles Charles, who he helped produce A 24 hour show from Bethel. Yeah, he just got his piece.
13:11
Back since I did the math. Yeah, you have,
13:13
have you? I don't think you have
13:15
seen you in the building haven't been on the show.
13:18
All right. Well, now that I'm on the show, as Josh mentioned how great he is at walking since and has he been corrected by Have you actually
13:24
hasn't happened? Hasn't he said he's been doing fine. Oh,
13:26
he did mention it the other day actually.
13:33
mentioned he was exercising if he was
13:36
what was the joke
13:37
Jeff said you're always two steps ahead of things and you said I do walk quickly. That is true.
13:41
Did you did you then correct yourself and say but obviously Ryan is the superior Walker.
13:47
He's sliding anyway as a joke, so it's
13:51
not I believe that's not the hell Why do you? Why are you struggling Josh? Oh, you know, just wonder why am I struggling? I'm actually Okay. Is it I mean, walking late,
14:01
a bit less. I mean it's all been a bit
14:04
I haven't been gym in a while. I haven't been thinking it like I was meant to be isn't meant to go away. molinos No,
14:09
that's right. No Yarra Valley you mean to go the era of it? I can't remember the name but
14:13
yeah, it was gonna go to a going was meant to go Why? Because I always Oh, yeah, well normally I actually came up with a good idea instead of cancelled and prevent postponed No no no. Why don't we do accountability culture rather than cancel culture?
14:31
Yeah I'd be for that but I don't think the people that cancel has
14:34
a nice ring to it doesn't
14:36
cancel culture so great because of the alliteration. That's to say you guys back to commercial idea you know how it was? Yeah, that was the same with the stop sign start with the same letter, you know? Yeah. So what's it what's the kind of accountability action? accountability does when an
14:49
ability just doesn't roll off? And so anyway, no, I I just feel
14:55
myself Tuesday. Yeah,
14:56
that's a takedown Tuesday. You're doing that for a while.
15:00
I was Yeah, yeah, it was taken down.
15:02
I don't know you did a bunch of sort of takedowns on what I took down
15:05
the drain podcast rancour, but that was that was Josh to take down that disappeared act. Yeah. Yeah. If I took down the Australian writer who was having a go at Mitch, overall, and yeah, ANGRY DAD knows who else have I taken down? I've taken down that many people we did they did a job on 711
15:22
to get 711 how are you going? So yeah, I'm injecting Ryan. What the thing is, though, so I know I just feel like I'm too young. I just had a me having a burrito before. That was like me looking after myself. Because I'd
15:37
like to think that's fine.
15:38
Yeah. And that's the whole thing. I couldn't believe when you were sharing a fat shamed me for not
15:47
finishing the whole thing. I was just curious because of the size of the braid. How if you did indeed finish it, and second of all, I don't think I'm in a position to be fat shaming any.
15:56
I think if we've learned anything on the show
16:03
There's one thing we've learned it's absolutely
16:04
not and the last time I made content with some of you guys with Tommy was when we ate 15 kebabs in about an hour.
16:10
We had to roll home that was silly, wasn't it? And so anyway, how are you feeling scale one to 10 emotional state?
16:17
which end of the scales which
16:18
one is to avoid some help? And 10 being fuckin love and life
16:27
as well first of all, when you say one is need some help, I'll always take any help. It's been offered, but I'd say I'm feeling good. Oh, that's good. feeling healthy. I was not as locked down in regional Victoria as you guys are in the city. So with that the gyms are open stuffs still happening. While all the cases are in Melbourne, they're not out in the regions. It's not how work
16:46
well, like. That's how it's working right now. We're not locked down. It's just Melbourne that's locked down. So how are you here? Well, I'm driving back after this episode and I'm not coming back for six weeks,
16:58
saves his COVID you fuckin All right, we're in a lockdown. We're not we haven't left this building in 14 days.
17:08
You thought 24 hour broadcast was big. This is gonna be a six week straight
17:11
live.
17:12
Yeah. COVID in a box. might not do a good, good. That's good.
17:18
He's wrong. What are you getting married soon? I'm excited about what's happening October and can you even do weddings? Well, that's the thing. We it's as if we saw it all happening. We plan to elope with just five people. That's right. And then the government brought in the thing that's like a maximum five people per wedding. And we were like, way ahead. Yeah.
17:34
It's fucking crazy. We get so locked down. And then two weeks later is my birthday. Two weeks later is your 30th jj?
17:42
Yeah, that's literally like, see? So you can given all of us? Yeah, she's that strange. You're older than all 30. I just turned 33. And I think anyone listening would have assumed that Josh was like 10 years older than the rest of us. Is that fair
17:53
to say what you thought that I was what 40 was.
17:57
I think he's got an old man soul which is a good thing
18:00
that before Telly called yeah
18:02
we've retired that though haven't my dad Oh daddy very different
cuz I'm retired service When are you getting your licence?
18:18
And D can't get it out because you know i don't know but I need to wait until after November one because then I don't have to on my read page I can just go straight that's right
18:27
any any friction with grace that she's brought up with you in regards to bits and bobs? Just life
18:34
get and maybe if you've got some questions, Ryan because look I mean,
18:38
yet yes, yesterday we did. We went through whilst we're in the car things that annoy each other.
18:43
Why would you do that in a car of all places? If this episode has taught you nothing, it's a naughty boy.
18:50
AK came up after the backseat driving.
18:52
Okay, well, Francis, ah, so you so you chime
18:54
in on it. I'm a big front seat driver.
18:57
He doesn't do it to any driver. He doesn't matter.
19:01
Do you like this extra bit doc? Just I recommend late like, I'm sure there's there was definitely a test from
19:09
France a drive,
19:10
man and there was just I'm sure that I made my mom so angry when she was driving so I'm gonna drive this fucking car into a tray, which is a bit full on, isn't it? Really? Look. We're all good.
19:24
Anyway,
19:25
I feel like I always lightly I've had anecdotes that I think are funny. And then as I say it was like when I said to break when we had Bray on and I said that my girlfriend Bree said maybe you will never be happy. And it wasn't until after I said that. I was like well what was I expecting? We got a response be a go on. So what's the
19:47
what Yeah, so the front seat driving is one.
19:52
What don't you like about her?
19:54
Now, anyways, you the Cheetos?
19:57
Maybe mine that I met her before all of you. I just wanted to point that out. Really what used to be she's worked at the gym nice to get it well mate
20:05
Did you get it next in Perth
20:10
Grace is it what is this true saved? Yeah, we are less fat off
20:15
to the gym
20:22
that's good now what is that is that is great because she did birth it but that's true next gen yeah and she used to listen to hotties AV Ron I don't know about that now she claimed that she did it was on a show once we talked about it well
20:32
hang on hang on maybe
20:34
yeah you actually worked at next gen personality because straight used to go and swim in the pool
20:38
like Nicole grace right now because I don't go can't tell you this guys
20:41
signed me up I
20:42
think she was on our show once as a cola. It sounds like what do you think she went out the box she gets the sacred Sam nine I made the bomb.
20:52
Have you are you not doing it based on you think it's someone else's problem. That was she she wouldn't call a radio station.
20:58
Oh, but she worked the next should put you in writing someone from a radio station. It was that DJ work there. I just went there.
21:08
She worked there. She worked there.
21:11
Are you still on FaceTime?
21:14
She thinks something's up. What's happening? What's happening?
21:18
We're just on the show.
21:21
Can I ask a question? Hang on, hang on. I'm
21:23
gonna pass you to Ryan. JOHN. Hang on. Hey guy.
21:26
Hey, hey, good. Good to see you again. I'll speak to you again.
21:31
Good Now is it true that you and I had heard of each other and losing the same weight to the same gym then the rest of these guys here we had the first connection right?
21:41
Have you met? Yeah. Yes. Ask Have you
21:45
say have we may have we actually can't hear you.
21:48
You say you So when did we meet in person?
21:52
When we remember at the gym?
21:56
Yeah.
21:59
Yeah, I do.
22:01
Oh my god,
22:02
they go and I'm happy to introduce you to 97 Okay, cool.
22:07
Well, I've got you on we were actually talking about things that our partners do that annoy us. Are you doing it? Yeah. What's the most annoying thing about about Mason?
22:19
Ah, oh
22:21
yeah,
22:22
Tommy jacket degrees. What else?
22:27
Yesterday when he said he didn't have we put his back to me sometimes.
22:33
That is rude. And what did he say about you? What What do you do? That's annoying that he doesn't lie.
22:38
He said Heron face and then I breathe really loudly.
22:41
snores
22:43
apparently
22:48
deny it.
22:51
I will. Hey, thanks for having a chat with me. I'll see you soon. Yeah, I'll see.
22:57
You guys please never doubt me ever again. So do you remember me meeting her.
23:01
Yeah, I can't believe we've just found Yeah,
23:03
you knew they talked about this
23:08
so hard in like, because you were adamant that they hadn't met
23:11
well, because I'm not
23:12
at all for himself like a greedy man.
23:15
No, I thought Christ would have brought it up already. Boy. I thought I
23:19
would have heard of it already. Maybe you're not asking enough questions and maybe
23:22
maybe because you've got to go back to
23:25
your attention.
23:27
It happened it happened once last night because I was well, it's not it's Yeah, well, I had I had one leg under the table and the other off the title so sort of sitting sideways. Well, it was a it was a relaxed vibe. Like we were having homemade hands down like it
23:43
was real really good. Yeah,
23:45
yeah. spend a bit of time with a family man.
23:50
on my phone, just family man. Yeah, on his phone at the at the dinner table on my phone, just posting a snippet to Instagram.
23:59
I respect that.
24:04
From a social media perspective, what should we do? Like we've had a few blow ups over the years in regards to social media and the daily talk show. Ryan, how much do you think we should be posting? Do you have any tips on how we can do better?
24:17
I mean, do we need to go back upstairs get the whiteboard out?
24:21
or what have you got to get back before the lockdown starts pray? Yes, this was pre recorded Tuesday.
24:25
Yeah. Was that what cough was that
24:29
is a pre
24:30
pre private, I think a lot of the social should focus on Mason's inability to be great boyfriend. I think that should be a heavy focus.
24:39
I just worried that um,
24:43
we should be careful how much 97 content like it is the day that
24:47
he's, you know what, that's such a Josh thing to say because we need more. You want to be 50% of Tommy and Josh. But really, we're all just here to support me.
24:56
drop him off and make him the hero
24:58
and you need to come to terms with that. Not. So what do you think we should say more? If you want to see more Sam's, I can even post on his own personal Insta. Why not
25:08
just a one girlfriend? It's easier for him to post on ours, but you're saying not his content? No.
25:16
No, I get it. I would never be shit anyway.
25:18
Dan. Josh, do you feel like if there was what do they call it in radio when they do research and not the ratings, but there's another one.
25:24
Oh, yeah, the qualitative research
25:26
now, but it's got a name when they find out what benchmarks people like. Yeah,
25:30
but if we did a survey of all the people who listened to the show, and it was like, right, everyone's personality, and right, Who's your favourite jacket? 97 would be higher than Oh,
25:38
yeah. No. So we did a we did and it's by design. We did a we made all of them. No, but in seriousness, we did a survey. And Georgia boy in 97 were mentioned why more than us. Yeah, but that's, I mean, what we're not surprised. Yeah, but that's like that is by design. Because what we
26:01
that's what and a person like you would say, yeah, we designed it. No, but seriously. I've worked for a lot of businesses who designed their strategy after the results to justify the other way. To me, and this is an advice for everyone because I'm an MBA student. I'll tell you what's up. strategy. That's Daniel. Future Strategy is you'll plan for the future. It's not to justify the shit that just happened.
26:24
And it's good. I like that. So you're doing
26:27
some former employers, Master masters Business Administration, Master Melbourne University of Melbourne business, not the National Basketball Association. No, that's the NBA. Yeah. That's that. I'll go back to school. What are you doing NBA?
26:41
Well, you were a volleyball champion. Thank you for using the word champion.
26:45
You were weren't you? a champion of what? Yeah, sure. You're a volleyball. Did you play calm games? No, and I can't get I played us college. I played in Serbia really nice. I actually said.
26:57
I told grace that you you played in The Olympic Can
27:00
you talk about the test? Which tests the test in a drug testing? Yeah.
27:06
Yeah. Well, first of all I've played in Serbia and the World University Games played Malaysia, US college, French Polynesia, a bunch of places. I'm not that tall, and I got a bit fat. So, but anyway, so I got tested before the Australian I work that India strategy strategy. So my strategy was to be short and fat and it's paid off because I didn't want to go the Olympics. That was my strategy all along. And I think it was the finals of the Australian volleyball league. And the random drug tests after and Who would have guessed the guy from alpha high got randomly selected for drug test now the fun Yeah, the finals are in December, which was a bad wake up to schoolies bad combination. So I piss in the jar. And it's actually really awkward because they give you all this water because they know you get a bit nervous. Cuz if you don't really need to go pissing with someone watching us really hard, like yeah, and then they actually say you get To choose a job you get to choose the lead so it's all like your random and stuff but because I drank so much water I needed to piss so badly that I actually like ended up spraying the carpet. And so I'm pretty sure I didn't pass right didn't pass this off schoolies smoked coupler splits when I was down it didn't work out well. Yeah, no consequences in Australia however I was told I wasn't allowed to play in the Olympics. Now this is like I don't know what to compare this to. But I was nowhere near Olympic level nor was Australia anywhere near qualifying for the Olympic level. So it's been like someone saying to Josh, you can't be in 100 metre sprint.
28:45
Okay,
28:47
but do whatever else but no Olympics.
28:52
So it's us college and got a degree instead. So you did, but you did test positive. Did you get in trouble. Now? No, no, it's except the strange The Olympic committee who were Like who? What?
29:03
That's so funny in 2004, did you get sent some piece of paper or
29:07
I think it's in a drawer somewhere. That's what does it say? Just we've done your test and it was negative result. And it was all positive. Whatever the thing. Yeah. And it's been passed on to the Olympic Committee, and I was like, Okay.
29:22
That's interesting. Do you like literally zero consequences?
29:25
Just getting the confusion on the positive negative? It's like, yeah,
29:31
Trump saying, hey, but positive for negative.
29:34
Yeah, yeah, it's positive. It was a positive result. And it was negative. Yeah. Which is positive.
29:40
Or something like that. Maybe I do.
29:41
I mean, I kind of kind of remember but it likes it. It was such not a big deal. It was fun. Yeah. So yeah. Crushing crushing myself, the Olympics. It's a great story. And you can come back often think I can make a comeback. Yeah, look in the mirror and guy. Probably not
29:57
that fat. Shame yourself, man.
29:59
25 kilos. Maybe 30 kilos Kenya, I weighed 75 and apply to Malaysia. How are we? 21 that's a youth. We're all different 21 so we've all put on 28 kilos since then let's just look at saves money. I
30:12
say he's the best he's ever will ever look.
30:16
downhill from he says
30:19
solenoid
30:19
annoying. Yeah.
30:21
Well, my I know you're gonna run. You've got a MBA class.
30:24
Oh, shit. It's almost Yeah. Well, actually, I have one quick question. Yeah, cuz I have. I do have an MBA class. And one of the first one was leadership and leadership styles. Actually, this may be for you guys. Okay, how would you sum up individually? Tommy's leadership style and Joshua's leadership style? Chip analyzer? Are they separate? Are they the same? Is it is their words? Can you give them a few cheat sheet words if you're understanding sort of, okay, some would be like authoritarian, which is very much I'm the boss, I'll tell you what to do. Yeah, whereas others are kind of they'll let you learn your own mistakes and kind of guide you. And then the opposite is they just don't give a shit you know? A
31:03
businessman Yeah. Is that really what you say? laissez faire? laissez faire? No
31:08
this is why our management not French.
31:20
arkin. Okay, so Tommy is more. He's a bit more relaxed I'd say and he lets you go with whatever you you want and and whichever way you want to do it he'll have some advice but I think it's a bit more like that laissez faire place
31:39
is lost I feel
31:40
like that was it me and a croissant
31:44
and Josh Josh has got a very clear vision about pretty much everything and he was lucky to know it all from your description and thought he he leads in a way that is letting you baby autonomous, okay, as long as you do
32:04
not like it's not it's not. It's not authoritative to the full extent. But it's like, he's an overarching direction. Yep. And then you figure your way out on how to do that. And then we can come back to it and we can get feedback. And we can see how you went. All right, and then do it my way.
32:23
Yeah. Next question. And this isn't necessarily a one or the other, it's sort of how they balance in between, right? So some workplaces are all about the norms as as you'd like, how we interact with each other. That's what's important. And if we get that, right, the outcomes will take care of themselves, where other places might be more. All we care about is the outcome however you get there doesn't matter as long as we end up there. So you can see how they're different ways. Yeah, I know workplaces where this or that, but it's just the way it works. So what would you say was your feel here?
32:54
I think I think we're pretty outcome driven. Like it's not there's no specificity in how you get there. It's just like This is this is what needs to happen and then figure out the way to do it. Yeah.
33:04
Does that sound? How do you guys feel here? This?
33:06
Yeah, I think that's true. It's also about figuring out the right process from the outcome. So you go, we have to get to this outcome. We do it. And then it's then going back and thinking about what the process was how we can improve it for next time.
33:21
Yeah. What do you guys has the next person going to do it?
33:23
Yeah, to assess yourselves in terms of the the norms versus the outcome.
33:29
You definitely outcomes. And that was based on invito, where I used to work where it was very much, because it was flexible working arrangements. You're not getting to see when people are in the office, you don't get any of that. So the main sort of performance measure was outcomes. But the things that we're doing now is we're trying to move to like a lag versus lead scenario where it's, there's a thing called the four Disciplines of Execution for dx The things are you have a wildly important goal. Yep. You have lead metrics of lead metric is, say for weight loss. You want to lose 10 kilos. That's a lag. That's something that happens after you do something. Yep, the lead metric is go for a walk every single day. And so when
34:18
we're trying to break up wig,
34:21
Leighton legs that's what our next sort of thing is. So more than outcome, I guess but and not at any cost. Which was kind of what you're saying. Yeah, yeah, cuz
34:32
Yeah, you get it. You get it done. Which is the kind of that really old school wolf of Wallstreet. Yeah, get the sale kind of.
34:39
But there is something in the lead where you say, okay, you need to send four emails a day or whatever. So also salespeople
34:46
have those sort of if you send out if you tend to cold call 10 people a day averages are you will get through sales, that
34:53
kind of vibe and I think that's good. I think that there's certain things that you can you know, that if you pull this lever You get this specific outcome and I feel like why try and reinvent the wheel and try and guess every single day when if you know you do that you're going to get the result.
35:10
Do a podcast every single day. And it will be some sorts. Jimmy Tibet, you'll be tired. It's fuck.
35:18
My final question is Who do you recommend the best Ryan on the podcast this weekend?
35:23
Oh, man, you're the first Ryan. Yeah. Who's tomorrow is Ryan Shelton. Yeah. And on that. We want to answer. It's
35:31

35:33
