It's the daily Talk Show Episode 669.

What's happening guys? What's going on for this? 99th day of the year? little formula for you?
0:14
Yeah. Yeah, that's a good fact.
0:16
Well, I was just looking at what the day is. We missed national beat day yesterday. I mentioned that it was the World Health Organisation day, but that fell flat. Trump didn't get around this. He's cut some kind of funding to them or something like that. I really Trump but yeah, today 99th day of the year. Not bad.
0:35
What about the Trump thing is on something you just read on? What's up? I think like a bad time for it.
0:41
Well, it's because there's, I read all these headlines. World Health Organisation has zero credibility moving forward, just like they're getting slammed, absolutely slammed.
0:54
I've been avoiding a lot of the use of flight.
0:57
Really, like actively just not pursuing news.com Today you all are New York Times is your go to.
1:05
Yeah, but I just feel like yeah, I don't know what I'm getting out of it if I watch it now. So well I'm trying to enjoy stuff and brain I watched 30 rock I last night, you know, just sort of just chill out.
1:17
The it definitely feels like there is a slight it depends on where you're consuming stuff but even on the like driving listening to the radio, it's, it's it's all slightly shifting away from sort of doom and gloom in Australia as much and more talk of economic you know, what are the economic issues and all of that stuff? It's it's very fucking unclear. Everything is unclear.
1:42
Yeah. How's your family?
1:46
Yeah, I mean, we're, we're pretty good. I mean, I'm spending a lot of time downstairs. So I mean, I usually
1:53
I'm only seeing them in the last few days. Just at dinner. That's
1:58
I really felt like There was a priming question is there Do we know something? Josh? Is there some intel you've got? No,
2:05
no. You asked me just on FaceTime this morning. Just have my family. I'm slack and I joked I haven't seen them. Well, so I guess this stems from their
2:16
stuff he says just curious.
2:17
Well, the funny thing is I, you know, as you say that I sent stuff and this morning when I spoke to Serbs, he couldn't stop smiling on FaceTime. And I was like,
2:29
that's the new normal I don't know there's a pandemic guy on but the boys rosy red and smiling from you know, ear, but I
2:36
was trying to work it out. I was like, what's what's going on? You right and there's nothing going on. He's got Pippin he steps on.
2:43
This is what that is. Look at it. Right. I was cooking eggs before. And this is how silly I am. Next to it. We have like these olive oil sprites awesome. And I grabbed the bottle next to me and sprayed onto the pan and it was it was cleaning agent. Oh no. And my eggs in the pan? No. Luckily I spray it on the right hand side and as soon as it hit the pan it went steamed out because it's liquidy but it is a natural it's not like bleach or something. Yeah, it's somehow I still I know I had them throw off a few bits of bacon. And it didn't it didn't taste too bad. I mean, this way pretty pissed off but then I'm just laughing at like, the stupidity like the I do stupid shit like that. I'm completely thinking about something else. And you just like a robot and you've just fact it actually a robot probably wouldn't Fuck it. Right human. The human is issue in this in this moment. But just quickly remember how a while ago we were talking about I think I I tried it was like an ISO hack that I wanted to try. And it was it was to test if underarm hair contributes to Bad perspiration or bad Mir BR and sorry last night after a few glasses of red Oh Jesus Christ.
4:10
Oh yeah, you've gone completely Wow.
4:15
But I've only done one side. Oh so
4:17
my taste it.
4:18
I've done yeah I've done one side I tested one side and I was like now this is gonna be fine it won't hurt and I you know a few glasses of red is kind of a painkiller but geez when someone doesn't know how to wax it's painful so used while you wax Amy bought a new wax pot or how cuz he can't beauty beauty policy closed, closed down and so you can't go and get a wax and so Amy's bought this device and it heats up and then you just like and anyway she waxed my underarm and it bled. That's how coarse my underarm hair is. You can say basically, basically fingers I've actually created titled 30,000 fingers onto my entourage, but I'll be able to do a who's doing the smell test actually, I think so sad to come to
5:12
you window says, Let me ramble ramble can do it
5:18
but yeah so I'm just gonna test it to see if it is at all advantageous to have less underarm hair as as a male like a lot of females have no wonder I'm here actually in saying that there's a lot more females now with underarm hair, especially around quarantine. Well we I say like, I mean hipsters. It's a there's a real movement on underarm hair. North side
5:43
where I have no side. Yeah,
5:46
yeah, definitely. Definitely. It's, I think maybe you will know about it because there's a probably a bit of pushback. And I get I get it. It's like push backing, pushing back on societal norms. And so the reason I say I've seen it because I'm I think there's people like, you know, actively showing that it's like here I am Harry is can be.
6:07
Well, it seems like there's also people at the moment who are pushing back on the social isolation stuff and still deciding to put makeup on or wearing high heels in the house, things like that.
6:19
That's just the way I feel for women that wear high heels anyway. I get the I get the dressing up though. Like I've got jeans and a jacket on my nice Gant t shirt.
6:33
actually reminds me when I was exercising yesterday, Brady said the words are joint exercise in your good tracksuit pants. I didn't realise that I had that much. I only had one pair, tracksuit pants and apparently, they're the good tracksuit pants now. Yeah, why
6:53
don't you wearing your Lulu lemon stuff?
6:56
Yeah, sorry. I changed into my shorts. That's what Brady says. Just then, you know, I was talking about being a little bit self conscious watching my gut or whatever Breathe in. I was showing her the livestream back. So Oh my god, and I hadn't
7:11
as a negative.
7:12
Yeah Oh my god not not not for the same reason because I'd been so obsessed with my mantids and stuff. I hadn't looked at my shorts and she's like you can completely see it just up and down up and down. Yeah, I saw and I another reason to join the livestream but your little purple shorts need to go there.
7:37
I got nice legs, but um, I did think it's not
7:40
a problem.
7:43
Who says JJ can't do thirst traps?
7:46
Was it a thirst trap? I don't know. Linden got in touch with you.
7:53
Oh, yeah. So I yes, I think yesterday I sent out an email with my second life. Which was around first aid. And it's an app from the Red Cross that tells you a bunch of things to do in all the different emergency scenarios. So, you know, it goes through, like if you've got a stroke, do this. And then it also does a test. So you can say, but I just I just found it helpful when I was just looking at, I guess how to get better at like all the first aid in emergency stuff. But I got a I got a reply from Linden, and it says, Hi, 97 Thanks for the life hack. I just wanted to take a minute to apologise for what crack came across as a condensing message that aired in 60 666. Regarding the life hack club, the message was intended to be read with sarcasm, but clearly that's difficult to communicate over text. Sorry for what seemed to be a personal and direct hit on you. It was certainly not intended that way. I
8:57
suddenly just point Linden texted me privately. I didn't sense any sarcasm. I think Linden is feeling a little bit bad. But Linden brought forward a complaint to me about how the life hack club has been managed. Ah,
9:13
yeah, I mean, sarcasm is there's so many things to sarcasm like facial expression tone that help get across sarcasm some people don't do sarcasm well at all. It's like now you you just you just being an asshole at this point.
9:29
Yeah, so are you sarcastic? You were sarcastic guy?
9:33
I think so. Yeah. They come across
9:40
universes? Yes. I mean, in some times, I think what we're trying to point out like some people, my mates dad has a really dry sense of humour. And so it's easy to define the humour that he has, like yours is quite self deprecating. You could if you were to put a label to it like
9:59
mine or
10:00
Right. Yeah, you're not afraid to make yourself look silly. And, yeah, what's his? I mean?
10:14
I feel like I've definitely taken a mix from both of you.
10:20
So what do you think TJ is then? Yeah, if I if I, if I'm self deprecating
10:28
now it has to relate to the human element. I don't want to feed your words, but I could.
10:36
risky, risky. Jason.
10:41
I mean, it's a tiny bit risky. No
10:43
savings is actually risky. Some of these funniest stuff cannot be said on this show. And it's
10:48
trying to think of what you said. Like,
10:51
even even the stuff that like he sayings he has with his mates. I don't know maybe we laughed at him. Maybe we're laughing at him more than he's trying to make us laugh. But the coconut correct like he's just a funny guy. This these existence is quite funny. Yeah, that's
11:11
true. It's the serious nature of selves that makes him funny. But what's and what's the reality? How what's your humour then TJ you throw words off.
11:20
No, I did it cheeky, cheeky a part of humour like you can be funny, cheeky. cheeky is like, like you said, it's not not not completely like daring or what was the word you use? Like? risky? risky. It's risky, cheeky?
11:41
risky, risky. You're in step by a risky risky a
11:45
human taught risky cheeky? I don't mind risky cheeky because then you can it can be playful in like the cheekiness is almost like the young nature within you. And then the risk is you know, yeah. It's it's cancelable is highly high chance of being cancelled when you do the risky meeting there too. But yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah. Just
12:14
to finish off the rest of that email. Yeah. Linden says I started listening to the show in December after finding the gronk squad from Matt D Avella. I always enjoy tuning into listen to what I think is hilarious banter. The show leaves me laughing and always in great spirits in the midst of the Coronavirus situation. I appreciate you, Josh and Tommy bringing us two episodes a day during the week. You really doubled down on the production. The quality is always superb and the guests are always a great addition. The community community that you are building through the show is extremely impressive, and it's only growing stronger. The work you do is admirable and the team will certainly continue to be successful. Thanks so much for pumping out great content and bringing the gronk squad fresh banter every day. Cheers. Linden
13:00
well Linden really did feel bad didn't
13:06
accept I'm accepting your apology
13:12
last night I was sort of on the bandwagon of thinking about being fit. You can feel a bit sluggish being at home even to your three red wine, so definitely, definitely. But I mean I did that's it that made me feel good if anything, but I was then just thinking about a time when I when I was a lot fitter than I am and then I saw Chris Hemsworth talking on Instagram and I saw his triceps and I thought wow, they're good isn't it?
13:44
Ah, definitely, yeah, his triceps are like before lunch. It was that him pushing the sled on that
13:48
night. This was him just talking in an interview sitting there and he moved his arm from, you know, like a right angle in his elbow to strike and then the tricep just popped and I thought I'm useless. That's really the most annoying thing is JJ be like if you've got super fat again and then you're like, this is fucking nuts I
14:07
haven't dreamed that no it's happened no but think about me
14:11
on that version because I was a lot fitter than I have been and so you're you're fat is what you're saying. Well I'm that same feeling that you could that you could identify with. It's like I said reason really skinny again. Yeah, cuz he's put on a bit of muscle. You'd be like, we've all been there. I've been there you know. But yeah, and even you know, Dave Ellis is struggling with the exercise stuff. But I, I spoke a spoke on Insta to my mate Brad Cunningham opens who owns fit shop, which is a studio that isn't, isn't running at the moment based on you know, isn't running business as usual because of what's going on, but he's keen to jump on a Insta live and do session for the gronk. So I'll start the feed. I'll invite him in. And then he'll run us through a session. And so will you guys join and that Josh is doing dancing so you don't Well, if you don't want to,
15:12
I love the idea of you would you be able to curate every day? Either yourself doing it or bringing someone and we could actually have like, say if I did 12 o'clock to one o'clock my dance session, so people that enjoy sort of the Zumba resk style. Yeah, I had a moment of thinking. Wouldn't it be crazy if I got really healthy and feeling great just through dancing? Like I feel like Yeah, all of a sudden, I'm the guy on you know the today show or sunrise guy now this guy, like the guy that just ate potatoes and lost a bunch of weight who wants to come on the podcast?
15:52
For you?
15:52
Yeah, because for you.
15:55
He actually
15:57
like look my that was my whole childhood.
16:00
tytos Better yet, how do you feel about doing a daily thing where we, I do 12 to one, and then you do one to two or two to three,
16:12
I reckon, like three days a week. I just know myself. Like, I wasn't training every single day anyway. And so it's a big thing to try and every single day, especially getting back, I used to train five or six days a week, and I never had breaks, like never had long stints. And I just know how hard it is like it's more likely to just pull the pin, but if I can do like a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, that would be sick. Oh, that's a good idea. Yeah. Monday, Wednesday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, feel good movie into Friday night drinks after having done a session in a shower. And then we jump on the live at 4pm for drinks. It's feels less naughty, right?
16:55
Yeah, there's something so addictive I reckon after doing the podcast and doing it daily and then move To twice a day, I love the daily thing. Like this is like Bree and I were talking this this morning as we were walking around trying to find opportunities for photos she's getting. Yeah, I posted them. I actually had a there was a mod blow up with the guy. It's all been pretty good. But I there was a spot where there was like, it was like a facility where people get concrete, like the big concrete trucks. Were getting the concrete like,
17:30
you know, it's on hotle straight, just yeah. into your street. Yeah.
17:35
And so there was a fence and like a gate and with the gate, there was a hole where you could where there's sort of like a latch where you could open and close and I saw through that hole, three workmen looking the other way and it was just their backs. I'm like, Ah, this is a good photo op. And so I am I went through the hole, and I was snapping in my one day He's very loud. It's what they used to photograph the Olympics. And so yeah, and I, yeah, I haven't heard photography. Yeah. And so I I took a few and obviously the guy turned around straightaway This is private property. But the great thing was the photo that I had from a focus perspective that locked on the fence and so the photo was the fence with just there like a blurry backgrounds like make the photo is not our view on taking art photos. I showed him his art.
18:31
He came over
18:33
Yeah, yeah, he came through that he rushed. Yeah, yeah, he thought that I guess that. Ya know, there's always this happens. This is my big criticism. When I used to film when I was a kid, I filmed 18th and 21st birthdays. And there's always one person who really wants to be on camera. I've mentioned this before. They really want to be on camera. But what they want to projectors that the last thing they want is to be on camera and what they stand in front of the camera and say, Do not film me and I'm like, if you if you just weren't in front of the fucking camera, I wouldn't film you right? Yeah. Yeah. And so yeah, there was a bit of pushback, but it was it was all fine. But I was thinking photos every single day braided start asking, asking, Are we doing it every weekend as well? Yeah. And to break, but yeah, we can. Yeah.
19:29
You were just touching back on the daily thing twice daily. You Do Is it bookings? The day right? The show and so you should have prepping the bit before the show. And then, you know, to the end of the day, or as for Sam's case, it's like, midnight, starts at 6:30am. And it's not but it is it does bring some routine. I mean, this is where you're seeing a lot of people do content online. How many lines fades out that Matt was saying, yesterday I, I saw. I've never seen so many people streaming. You know, things to say? I mean, how do you think about content in these times of being drowned out, Josh?
20:17
Well, I think that the even though there's more content, there's more people consuming it. And so I think that if you've, it's probably harder now to build a tribe from scratch. But if you've got an existing tribe that you can then provide content to, like with with us with the gronk squad, there was a group of people who know us who were friends with who it becomes very easy like Friday night, virtual drinks would have been really hard. If we were doing it for the first time and we just we didn't have anything previous.
20:52
Because you want to jump that gap. You want to you know, get to that side, instantly. Which is it's why people Have the pod FIDE they do a podcast for 10. And then they're like, no one's listened. No one's actually
21:06
listened at all on the the YouTube. Live Chat. We do live stream all the podcasts. You can watch it at the daily talk show.com forward slash live. Thank you 97 for embedding the chat into the page that's on there. Yeah,
21:21
I know. I didn't think so. Oh, you did you push it. Because I took I took it off because it wasn't format. It wasn't formatted correctly. So when you resize when you resize the page, it overlaps with other stuff on there. So we'll work on that. Grace's add push back to the list of words for Friday night drinks drinking game.
21:41
Yeah. So whenever we say put we've obviously been saying push back along
21:45
the ice. Just about 40 seconds ago, I think. Well, I think
21:50
it pushed back for people. Let's just explore push back, push back. In in someone's Casey, is it the it's like the internal response you have to something. So for people tick tock is like Yak instantly. So there's heaps of pushback on it. But I think do you think pushback is from a place of it makes someone uncomfortable? Or it's, or it could be sort of it says there's pushback, say more about someone else than it does about the thing that they're pushing back on. I think that pushback shows that you are clear on your own values and what you
22:31
Yeah, what you value, I think,
22:33
Well, I mean, he says his pushback on life, and that's why he's,
22:38
what do you think he's pushing, but
22:39
I just got the guy that has the, the one word or the phrase for the year of leaning is obviously identifying that there is a lot of stuff coming out when it comes to trying things, trying new things getting uncomfortable. And so that's where it's like, is it to your point, Josh, values is the person who gives pushback in line with their values or they're not there. They're not worth it. They're not willing to get uncomfortable.
23:12
No. Well, I think part of it is ownership. So for the case of Sam's, he's he's pushed back on some stuff. He's because he's not in control of it, or like we're pushing it onto him. So he's pushing back on that, maybe?
23:27
Well, I think there's, there's probably two types of pushback, there's intentional and then there's probably like a rational pushback. And so the irrational one is where it's, I guess it's what you're talking about. Tell me what you just like, yeah. Not like I don't want to be uncomfortable at all. And then, you know, intentional pushback is one that is aligning with all your values and be like, No, I'm clear on who I am. What I want to do and so,
23:50
you push back. I think it's most people, I would say, it's quite generalised. Rock Solid on the values in the sense of being able to reel them off to you right now. And so that's where I'm just it is the dance of like, the thing you need to do, you're not comfortable doing and so there's pushback on that. Whether it be for Korea moving you forward, getting in front of a camera, studying podcast, making videos, taking photos, the feeling, you know, of other people's response, all that stuff, the internal dance with that feeling. It's, I don't know, it's just an interesting one to explore because I, I push back on shit, you know, like, in my mind, and I'm like, if there's too, too, within reason, and I don't think this is for everybody leaning into the stuff you are feeling like you're pushing back on it could be really valuable. And not to say to be totally misaligned because if it next minute I'm, you know, doing top off photos just because I don't I'm thinking guys who do that backwards. You know, there's like, I get it. There's an extent to which you will lean into the stuff you're pushing back on. But Tick tock, I think for a lot of people, I mean, I think I think I'm Bay Mac, the daily talk shows hype man. I mean, he's, he's gonna lose that title unless he pulls his head in.
25:16
Well, I realised that he had completely forgotten that when we had him on with Kel, he had mentioned Tick Tock. And so in the Facebook group, I'm like, Guys, I'm doing a tick tock. He acid you an acid cow. And then said something. I was like, I don't understand. I understand you're in joke. Well, so I didn't know I could. It was the one comment. I didn't lie. And then we came back.
25:39
We had a with the snippet. I did. He
25:42
posted it. Yeah, yeah. And what? underneath it, it was just a bit talking about Tick tock, but as soon as I saw him in the context of the show, I was like, Okay, I mean on this.
25:53
So he said something about, we push back on Tick Tock. Oh, you did, Josh. Is that the idea?
25:58
I think? I think there was A little bit of pushback, but I think that and this is the interesting thing. Flexibility is part of like, are you flexible or inflexible?
26:09
And homies, like,
26:10
Oh, just just mess All right. Like, I think one thing like say if you're in a bad mood, also, if you're having an argument with someone, you could choose in that moment to say, you know what, I'm sorry. And then it would all be good. But then there's the pushback in us is like, now fuck it, like I'm gonna enter into this. I'm going to like really enjoy.
26:39
You know, like,
26:41
how often do you are you silent with Amy? Like how often like, Have you recently had a stage where it's like, you know what, I'm just not going to talk for a bit.
26:51
And in a discussion or if she's telling me just need
26:54
it like so I'll have moments say with I'm trying to think when it was like a week. yard. Yeah, where it was, I can't remember what happened
27:04
twice in context on some
27:07
sort of argument. But it was, I'm sure it was really dumb. It had something to do with the kitchen. And, and I'm just like, you know what? Like, I'm checking out, I'm going to bed. And I'm done for the day. And so that was a bit by the end of it what by the time I woke it, like halfway through the night you wake up, you're like, Okay, it was I think it was the first day of doing slow carb. And we'll just like sugars, low blood sugars low.
27:36
Yeah, exactly. It's snappy. There's so many. There's so many. So many things. I was thinking about meditation, and observing your mind. And I was like, Is it like a for someone who thinks they have their shit together? Or like if you were to just be like, I'm no good. Or maybe a thinking about like the illusion of thinking that you have Have you sit together? is like the same
28:04
version of you thinking you're good at dating?
28:08
Well, it's definitely a disillusion in the current current state because Toby says, does push back equal a Yo, I think that's a good point. I think there's a lot that's wrapped up in ego. Well, you're trying to protect your ego. So if it is something, we're talking Tick tock, if it is looking stupid on a tick tock that is, you could say its values, but it's also like, the ego hurts when someone calls you out or laughs You know, laughs at you. But yeah, so I guess my thought isn't, I can't quite see my thought
28:43
of us.
28:45
Being at home, with your own mind for a lot of us. Do you think it's highlighting mental health or and or it's forcing us to be more Observe and on the internal than ever before. Like then being caught up in the rat race or being caught up in life, which is up drive to school, go to, you know, go to work, go get your coffee, it's like the routines and the disruption of routine is making us like, look a bit inwards
29:19
drinking, but I also think that ritual is a coping mechanism or is a system that we've created to get past our anxieties and things like that. So if we stopped doing it, for me, it's as simple as like walking to work, the process of me going and walking to work. That like 35 minute walk was the thing that would de stress me make me feel great. If I for whatever reason got dropped off, I wouldn't feel good. And that's why I was like, You know what, I need to go out and take these photos, do 10,000 steps, just because I know that if I do that I feel way better. And so I think especially in the early stage, stages of all of you know the the lockdown sort of stuff is we were in a situation where it's like the the the gym or these or the sauna or or all these things that are normally the coping mechanism that we have is no longer available to us.
30:18
Yeah, so what you're saying like, I think we all need coping mechanisms, which is then you could say that everybody is suffering at some level with their own mind. But some choose who have their shit together to dial it in or whatever it be to fight you know, to stick at things that level out their mind level, not being sane level, just being a less intense version of themselves in their mind. And, and so yeah, I was sort of thinking on this walk. I was like, I think we're all really crazy. Like, I think everybody's crazy in their own right, right. It's like the mind having 60,000 thoughts a day is mind blowing in itself that, like this morning, I'm doing meditation. And I had a memory from so long ago, and I remembered it and then I just forgot it right then. And then I had another one bit like, isn't that like, and then I got a bit honi cooking. I just then I started thinking sexual. I'm like, stop this is a bit like that. When you when you observe your own mind, you realise how fucking outrageously crazy and, and and fast it is. And so, yeah, one of the thoughts is like, a good good on Sam Harris's app is these two people who very, very educated researchers and doctors were looking into people who suffer. Suffer mental illness as a result of meditation. So it's a thing like you think meditation makes us healthier and our mind. For some people, it undoes them. For some people it's like, too introspective, and you realise, you see the sort of Cliff you could step off into. Everything means nothing. And so it is. Yeah, I mean, what do you think? joshy maybe I'm just fucking one of the people who's suffering with mental health for meditation.
32:21
Now, Jim, she says, Hi, cutie friends. I completely agree that everyone is suffering to varying extents. Yeah, I reckon. I mean, I think that the other thing too, is, everything is so personal as well. So it's, it can be very tempting to give prescriptive advice. So for me, if someone was like, I'm not feeling good, I would say you know what, you should go out you should walk. You should go take some photos, you should dance at midday. All of that all of these things because they good for me. But everyone is completely different. Like so. for February she loves she's identified that she actually loves talking to people and all of that sort of thing. So getting on her zoom call or whatever in the morning with all our workmates is an important part. Whereas I'm sure if we did that be fine just to not you know,
33:23
to not do the zone goal
33:24
Yeah. Like I'm really happy to and maybe part of it is the show maybe like for me, the show fills my cup or whatever you want to say to the point where I don't need anything else. But then I think that for a lot of people why is that funny serves
33:41
no I mean, I guess it fills my cup is
33:45
filling a lot of time we were
33:46
to put it's a weird way to put it isn't fills it fills the cup.
33:50
What fields the cups is
33:53
now where do you how do you feel you captives
33:57
definitely a bit of exercise. Yet doing the show? And then yeah, I think it's just talking to people and experiencing new things.
34:10
And you thought about what fills your cup outside of that moment, just then. Have you ever thought about that said?
34:17
Um, I mean, I've so I've thought about it a little bit. It's probably more of coming from the angle of what, what gives you energy as opposed to what fills you up, but I guess it's the same thing.
34:29
But what gives you energy?
34:33
differently? I mean, being creative. So like getting in that flow get like when I am Yeah, getting into a state of flow through some creative activity, where you where you feel is a real reward to that. And what does flow mean? I think it's, that's probably everyone has their own version of that where it might be a hyper Focus on an activity like for me, it's, I'm you know, I've been pretty sort of over the years and when I was younger restless and so when I found editing and and making videos I would for restless guy be sitting there for hours on end doing a task, which seems counter to the thing that I felt like I was right. And so that that feeling when you have something that you love, that's that's the exercise of course, like, going for a run run up a hill and oh my god, my, like, you feel a bit euphoric.
35:37
That's like my dancing. That's Yeah, afterwards. I'm like, especially that like fake skipping thing. Yeah, it becomes like this addictive thing like you. Yes, I think it's the accomplishment. Like the funny thing is for me, personally, I'm like, this is what people are doing all the time. This is the first time I've actually like, like exercise until this start point and the good thing is That I'm able to do it because it's not some PT telling me if a PT told me to do it. Absolutely not like I just what you just made up a time. Like I'm not fucking skipping for a minute you just made up a minute. There's no rationale to that. Whereas if Taylor Swift's shake it off song goes for three minutes 30 I will skip for three minutes 30 I say the rationale on that.
36:25
Yeah, sure. I get it like I quite like it is it's that's where I put music on just do that exact thing. Just do the whole song and then stop. But I mean, that's not his progress. There's exercise where you can see what I'm just defending paydays. If you if you're doing a progressive training regime where it's slowly like you're either you need to manage something. So it could be three rounds of three minutes. And then the next day, you could do four rounds of three minutes. And so you Saying I understand that level but it is yeah so exercise meditation definitely. It does definitely increases a sense of just just fucking it just makes me feel better. So this is a poor thing for me.
37:18
How do you think you would go as a housemate?
37:22
Um Yeah, I mean it'd be interesting because I wouldn't I wouldn't be that except like, like workouts or whatever like it wouldn't I wouldn't be that great during those
37:36
What do you think what's expected of a housemate that you would they would care?
37:41
Well, I mean, I guess you I don't know I've never had a house bite before but I don't know. It could be fun just like chatting over lunch or something like that if if schedules and stuff line up. But I would just be like, I guess like not available until like, six o'clock. Oh, Whatever so you're worried that you wouldn't be
38:02
able to your house might sort of play time.
38:06
Yeah, it's not that's not what you sign up for service when you sign the lease. It doesn't mean your marriage bro. It's just I live in this room you live in that room and if any of you leave your shit around I'll be pissed. At depends how much you like
38:19
your house might buy even, like even if I was if I was hanging out with like Jason 100 then I also want to be able to chat to them during the day or whatever, like you don't want to be fully blocked out.
38:33
housemates like EDIS. If you don't have to have one Josh, I think you should have dodged the bullet there saves. I mean, you've just got your family. I've lived in a bunch of houses George.
38:45
You'd be a great
38:46
housemates. So I reckon you would say because you're not that hard. Other than like, you might get a bit annoying actually. Now you'd be really annoying because that you don't say you all day because you're both working. But then the time that you are Home, your bloody meal prepping, you'd get out you'd pick me off in the kitchen. Like I show you cook cookies back and disgusting.
39:08
You know, like 5am Blender would get me
39:14
Well, I think because what I was doing saves was I was like, I love you, you're easy to be around but then I was thinking about the friction points in households and it's usually to do with cooking cleaning. You know, just your your routine in the morning and evening, which is where you're pretty solid on I think you're still young, you still can adapt. Like he's still he's
39:35
not to adapt to it because he he ended up getting annoyed with me when I was playing my audio books in Los Angeles.
39:43
Oh, yeah, no, that's not that. Yeah. That I mean, that was just annoying.
39:47
It surely you can't just if someone else did that I could 100% just get behind it's fine. Like whatever. Like
39:54
I'm gonna stop it. It's it but that's just put on your your air pods.
39:58
Ah, like to people who have travelled with the individual jet nice and speaking of it, Josh I, I found it a bit unusual. I went into it. When we were in Sydney Joshua was sleeping on bunk beds and I was like I remember Austin kleon steal like an artist or
40:20
ego was Ryan Hall.
40:22
Hang on. We're listening to stillness is the key is that what we all wish
40:26
we could have been listening to egos enemy you were still going? Yeah,
40:30
I'm trying to get out. He's got his little routine. He gets the he gets him into his room. He gets a go
40:37
on my playbook on you guys.
40:42
Did you wake up a bit funny? No. No, I it's I it was a bit weird, but I was I was like, I this is interesting. Very outside of what I've ever done in my life. I was like, Oh, yeah, I think you'd get annoying. If it was every day, Larissa.
40:59
When I first moved out. I became very aware very quickly, of all of my flaws. It was a big slap in the face. It really helped me learn and grow to be a better person.
41:10
That's good. I like that. Like I think it's true it is. Your routine becomes your normal until someone's observing in your, your normal or your routines on show or is directly affecting someone else's environment. That's when you're like, ah, dude, do that shit. Why? But I think it's hard to answer like even asking Matt D Avella yesterday about what does that find annoying. I'm sure if I asked Matt, what do you find annoying about Matt. It'd be easy. Because I could have asked what do you find annoying about Nat? Because Amy's got a lot about me. I know.
41:44
I'll go I think I'll go get Brian and we can find out like I What do you think before I get Bray? What do you think she would say? is annoying about me?
41:54
It saves. Just think about the office. It's it's the bag just dropped anywhere. It's Maybe some socks just on the ground in the middle of there
42:03
I reckon I don't think it would be that because I think Bray loves a bit of that like I think she goes and relaxes by cleaning all of it up
42:14
that's a dangerous thing decisive
42:17
because I've said that
42:19
enjoy cleaning she does she vacuums now apartments fucking tiny. I think we're on afford four times a day vacuum which is a stress reliever which is Yeah, so you know,
42:33
but yeah the cook Cooking maybe just that sort of like the key things the bag the bag on the ground I'll just I'll go with one so serves leaving stuff my wife on the ground
42:47
actually I'm gonna go while you say
42:48
your your your one eye maybe the other one would be attention. You when he's when he's focused on tech stuff, you're not getting through to it and you just won't pay attention to anything else.
43:00
Yeah, he's home but he's not home.
43:03
Yeah, bit of that.
43:05
Definitely. All right. Can we nail these two? If she's being generous? Because it is hard to wrap on your partner like I? Yes, you're angry. That's true. If Josh has made a bad boy, then maybe she will just lean into it.
43:22
Here we go. Leah says. dangerous territory St. Bree loves cleaning up up the
43:27
yard animal. Meissen. I pray how I good. Hi. Yeah, good. So we've got here today to discuss Josh in the sheet you don't like about his habits and rituals around the house. And we've guest two of them. And so it could be the annoying things that Josh does around the house. And feel free to lean into it. And just stuff that really? Yeah, we're talking about housemates instead of like the paper you know, you always have something you're a bit annoyed about with the partner or housemate. What is it for Josh
44:00
Um, he oh there's a lot of things and I'm just gonna
44:07
go for awesome that's great
44:08
you get Can you do too because I guessed one and my son gets one and we want to see if you can if they are the ones that you go to at least one
44:16
he leaves he's playing around a lot like even like on the table or next to the sink. The dishwasher will be clean and He'll open it and looking at when he goes to put a dirty plate and doesn't unpack it instead we'll just he laid his hands on the floor and close quite often after he showers he I don't know what else he does. I mean they're the most sort of annoying things.
44:45
Get that saves did I get one of those is just leaving stuff on the ground cuz I picked up his undies in LA. I'm not a printer. Y'all had to pick up the sound decent socks.
44:54
I really
44:56
didn't know what else um I mean cuz he doesn't really do his chores necessarily around the house that much he sometimes does washing. But not all the time and he cooked breakfast this morning. Um,
45:10
by the way, just quickly on the breakfast stuff we haven't gotten an update on slow carb meals insert can two days
45:16
a day morning. I didn't do I haven't done this morning. I haven't had time to play it.
45:23
I will do it though. I promise. I
45:24
want one more sort of away from those sort of areas of the cooking cleaning leaving shit around. There's one. Yeah, that we want to sort of save Mr. 97 can land his guess? Right.
45:35
He goes on. He's finally got
45:37
the guys that's pretty much Yes.
45:41
To like scrolling like social media like scrolling as way like walking along.
45:44
What about getting through to him while he's working?
45:48
Oh, yeah. Oh, he can just be really focused. I think maybe that's what could be different. If he's really focused on something. He can't do anything else. So it's like I can't even ask him a question or any of that sort of, oh, he can't be interrupted by the rules. Apply just for him but if the same is on my side it's only just come on to the easy just being conniving that but what he's mostly great days he literally asked me for the negative things yeah
46:12
and you delivered because I think we were pretty close on both of those Mason's was what was it What was your one you picked? Oh yeah just when it's like focusing and stuff it's it's hard to get him to
46:23
talk to you he goes
46:24
down rabbit holes like nice and I have quite often I was only just saying this to Josh the other night they met the office quite late on a Friday because Josh has gone down some rabbit hole on some tech thing that he wants to fix and mace and I'm like oh let's go for dinner let's go do something I mean nice enjoys very easygoing interest but no, no, I just need to finish this thing and I need to finish this thing now. But that thing could also wait sometimes.
46:46
Yeah, yeah, it's it's Josh is I'll be one minute but it's always 10
46:50
Yeah. It's like he gets obsessed, which actually is also a nice quality of his the the negatives are always the positive to
46:58
Yeah, you know, like, he's you graded cookies. Granted, he's very focused at cooking the meal that he's cooking. So they're always great. Like he's you know, he's breakfasts are always tip top because he's putting so much focus on.
47:13
Yeah. Okay, well, I'm gonna go back to work now and find some tips that I've lost.
47:17
Oh no.
47:20
Say yeah,
47:21
wherever say Yeah.
47:23
Google Drive or wherever
47:26
I'll close it. Oh hang on can you say?
47:29
Yeah
47:31
yeah, we definitely know. I think we spent it I gotta wrap it up because I said to her that she said that she'd lost this footage so don't help her find it if she would just come on so I'm gonna go do it. Right Good. All right, good.
47:43
I think we need to To be fair, we need to get Amy on to do the same. And then we need to also get Mr. Mom on.
It's the house might think it's Yeah, sure. Let's be Get James z. Or shaman money advocate. Yeah. Can we get on to blockchain and chase? That'd be great. Chairman Rick, Mr. 97th. dad
48:15
wasn't too bad, right? Like, they're all pretty standard issues.
48:19
Yeah, everyone's doing that.
48:21
A lot of people are doing that. And the thing is that I go through stages of actually being good with them. I just feel like we've heard about them, but just exercising the thing with exercising is you go through more clouds. You go through more showers, you end up like, yeah. And so all of that, like it's very hard to track all the leaks, I'm changing. HP says, can't do two things at once is a man thing they cannot focus on. George says, Josh is regretting this. Now. I don't mind talking about my flaws. I'd like to get better at them. And so the thing is that by bringing up all things Go and remember these things because the other thing is what annoys me is the dishwasher is so easy like all these things. She's mentioning it easy, and that's why I don't do them come like they're easy. But I'll do them if it's a big deal. Yeah, apparently it is. It's a daily talk show. We got an email that came in since.
49:20
Yeah, we got an email from a and he said it's been a while so I thought it was time to email you guys. At the risk of being labelled as sock. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you guys not only pushing on with the daily talk show, but increasing it to two EPS a day. I'm guessing your production company big media company is doing it tough like loads of other companies. So for you to commit to two episodes a day where that doesn't produce any income is huge. Really appreciate the commitment. I'm one of the lucky ones who still has a job and I'm able to work from home. So now my day is organised around 11am till 4pm I don't always get to listen live, but I always Catch up loving the content loving the guests.
50:03
I mean Speak for yourself, hey, we can't get the job okay because we have revenues over 50 million
50:10
and I didn't want to mention I retired
50:14
but you were stupid stupid enough to do two shows a day. mistake.
50:19
I'm absolutely spot on.
50:21
absolutely spot on tonight in a I also wanted to say he's loving Friday night drinks. It's a great idea. I find myself looking forward to 4pm on Friday about midweek isolation is tough at the best of times, but I believe most of us are trying to do the right thing by isolating being able to connect with you guys and a whole heap of other people I've never met before. It's awesome. And you can let Josh know that I've upgraded my internet just for our Friday night drinks.
50:49
Oh yes and famously had to connect a whole chicken farm out the bad chicken shooting Internet
51:01
cheating. It sounded like you were speaking to a catfish like someone who is catfishing you.
51:07
Yeah, it seemed seemed very remote
51:10
that we love you too in Mike thank you for supporting the gronk you're at 500 you you took three day deal in and you gave him a Ozzy barbecue you're talking bike riding. That's another stanza legend literally and he's I am I an iron man he and I get I was looking at his Insta stuff doing a workout handstand stuff. This dude he's rockin rock solid.
51:34
Yeah, he also said PS might be a good time for Tommy to get as Michelle neighbour Michelle Tim's on. She's a trailblazer and women's basketball and an absolute legend of the sport. I'll show her story would be amazing and might be a welcome distraction from the corona slash isolation chat. p p. s. Josh, I think you should dig dig deeper with the questions snag a burger, ketchup or barbecue sauce chicken. Beef inside dining or outside dining hotel or camping?
52:05
I get the inside or outside dining is is a very interesting one. A fresh guy. Yeah. What would you if you're in a cafe in Toronto, what would you do?
52:15
It totally depends whether it's summer or winter. I really like sitting outside in the winter when there's heaters, like I love that. That's I love that when you actually warm but it's cold so you feel the sort of nip in the air, but it's also nice.
52:42
So
52:45
all right, gronk
52:47
Greg, yeah, it's a daily talk show at 4pm Melbourne time, where we're live streaming the second episode of the day and also Joe joined by George has a new segment that he's going to be doing so he's created a video that we will premiere here. So 4pm please join us otherwise, see you later on. Have a good one.
53:11
Say today later on. I was gonna say tomorrow
53:16
well that's an always
53:22
one more time.
53:24
Oh that's nice
53:33
bye guys
