It's the daily Talk Show Episode 502 what's happening guys? We've got in the middle basil. Hello,
0:13
Mike. We're actually on a plane right now. Yeah. Yeah.
0:18
This is comfortable actually. Well, you're not on the fly. We're on the plane. You sitting right next to us, okay. You're not on the plane with us. Right? Yeah, it's it's more letting people know that currently we're on our way to Los Angeles. Yes, but physically right now we're recording today's episode. Yeah. The fact that thing is the plane goes down. It's our last episode guys. It's been amazing. We got to 500
0:45
It's so morbid when you think about I was about to start doing goodbyes my walk
0:51
down. Wow. Great newspaper article though. Well, yeah, photos have been on the front page. Absolutely. Yeah. No one
1:00
Why not? Why not?
1:02
We've been through this thing. We know the answer, because we spent a good 10 minutes just having some back and forth about it. 14 hour flight to LA basil.
1:13
There's a high wind tomorrow, which I mean, we're on the flight. So technically it took off. Okay, yeah, but high wind. So there's a potential that it will be sort of delayed. And then we got into a conversation of how much fuel Do you reckon now have and how much fuel does a commercial flight need to have in reserves? So 14 hour flight? I thought, definitely, like 16 hours worth of flight time. Like you'd want to our buffer? Yeah, yeah, definitely. So what would you say I want to give you, you kind of take my answer. What's your answer? Each part of me thinks that you should have double ride but
1:52
that's way too much.
2:00
The 24 hour slot to one guy but I've just been holding,
2:04
hearing you guys all thinking that we've got you on as an aviation expert you.
2:10
You You did an amazing job for us for Episode 500 going around filming or behind the scenes content. You're a filmmaker based just around the corner just around the corner and fellow video guys want to make it clear because if people
2:27
is this guy,
2:29
so yeah, what's what's
2:33
more than the 14 the question, of course, okay, it's an extra 45 minutes. That's it? Yes, that's scary. So
2:47
Sam, I think as I walked at a guy down the street before I thought about it quite a bit. I was like, okay, so obviously they don't get to get more than half why, and then turn around to go back to Melbourne. They always
3:00
have to have no bezel logic you want to be able to get
3:05
back Yeah, these gronk up the backs been causing trouble wake
3:12
up thinking they always probably have to have somewhere where they're going to veer off to within the time or something. Yeah, the storeys of them landing at military bases and things like that. It's a what I don't want is to fucking land in the water. I mean, it doesn't end well. Yeah. Oh, I've turned into a great fucking movie. Well, one bloke, Tom Hanks, who got paid a bunch of cash and
3:36
had to go through it and landed on the Hudson River. I mean, this is all pretty. I was a girl that I know. I did that Hollywood immersive. You know that trip that I won to learn how to be a presenter in Hollywood.
3:51
I did a trip
3:52
2012 best year, one of the best years in America. You were there. We have a business 2012 great years like Paris.
4:00
I think 2013 Yeah, I mean no 20 Yeah, no, I was 2012 Yeah, yeah. What we doing? Just Just partying a lot. Really? Yes. All of what sort of party? Ah, a lot. I found myself at midnight at the Princeton University in the middle of the football oval, because we were friends with the soccer president. He had the case that was very good. That was That sounds like a body kind of thing. Not, not not cloud stuff. Or there was a little
4:32
No, no, I was thinking, that's actually a best. Like, that's a better storey than I went to the club, which I love my university because that's what that's what partying is. The coolest thing I ever did partying was when I was at the radio station. At Rod Laver arena. They we got to see a live performance of matchbox 20. Doing that crate, it's already there was only
4:58
there was only 15 of us.
5:00
Watching a full dress rehearsal with all the cameras and everything Rob Thomas would come up and singing their faces a dude he came into the studio once and he's he's just stack of CDs he just been really
5:15
raspy voice anyway the girl who I follow that's annoying Hey sorry to it that was just panic for a second thing is mine yeah but now you happy that was Josh his computer
5:27
or anyway but that's not my fault that's your fault This girl is
5:35
like if you hear loud that wasn't the head it wasn't too bad if you're blind and you're already freaking out because you've just found out there's only an extra 45 minutes. Now you really pissed off Do you reckon I wonder if I finish the storey chiffon is doing she's my flight attendants and I can be a flight attendant for one of the Arab airlines. But they're doing all their training. I think it's Abu Dhabi and
6:00
Doing the travel Dubai it was from Dubai Emirates I think it's Emirates the airline anyway anyway yeah, they've got like a full simulation with fuck off Mr. Nice. Get out Get out now had enough
6:15
Josh What am I doing? We were talking about your head is just looking over to us and I seven sorry to be here for this sorry here for this man. We were laughing when you lift the other day, fuck his neck must be sore. And then my son said yeah I know I've noticed him just constantly looking at me pitching about me.
6:34
Anyway
6:35
so good data fighting. It's interesting same these Instagram storeys come out of this training which I didn't even know that you couldn't do that but it's like fully saying that the raft come out and they're like sliding down so they don't training for if we go down in the water interesting yeah, that they're able to actually like Instagram at the I just think about if I'm running out of petrol. The feeling that I get
7:00
Yeah
7:06
no i did.
7:10
So you you've created a one minute video, which was far from Episode 500 and so like you film this fun thing you should come on the show will watch it for the first time yes it's scary. Yeah scary for too scary because I just I smashed it together I knew you guys would be on a plane right now. So I wanted to make sure you saw it before it could be the last thing you ever saw. Yeah, she's
7:36
really digging date with that. said this is the video from Episode 500. Would you shoot it on for the geeks playing and GH five. What lens sigma series.
7:50
Yeah, but then with the crop I don't know what it turns out to. Obviously not good at Mass. On a double gas show 4k
7:59
4k
8:00
are
8:02
two sides Yeah, it's a love and this could it could have shot it s that would have been nicer at nighttime could have shot at any other camera that doesn't have as much grain as a band factory. But yeah. Okay.
8:16
The emotions there. Yeah. All right. All right.
8:29
The Daily Talk Show Episode 579 you go to understand 500 episodes, it has been a lot of hard work, doing a podcast that is completely optional. And we are actually able to create stuff that we're really proud of. Because if we do that if we just be ourselves and then you guys come here tonight, that's awesome because it means like you might actually like
9:01
Really big insecure babies. Oh, you're thinking whether or not this is a thing. 500
9:12
been a great show. Thanks for coming, everyone, and we'll see you next time. Bye, guys.
9:19
Bye.
9:20
Oh my god, I
9:35
don't know where to go for me. That was amazing. Oh my god. I feel like I've been Yeah, you guys did it. Congrats.
9:45
You didn't get to St. 97
9:49
Yeah, I'm pumped up as well. Yeah.
9:54
You're pumped out
9:57
can we call this episode
10:01
It's um, he's got everyone smiling and laughing cheering and having a great time. He didn't have to fake it. Everyone was where'd you get that audio from? Your show? I sent you
10:13
know, singing it. That's a good sign. I stole it from the chocolate. Oh, sorry. Lately ripping your shirt
10:23
that I loved that I made so um, you've done these types of things before? Yeah, what what sort of projects do you like doing in 2019? What's your favourite stuff to do? And how's your laptop? I do. I do like these kind of stuff I love I love into interview based stuff. So that's why this is like an event video because I like you guys. I'll do that. But I generally do. Stick away from this event. Yeah, like no weddings for me. Thank you. Yeah. How many weddings have you done? Not not that many but enough to like not do it. So when I was in Canada, maybe like, maybe like eight I was like second shooter.
11:00
I was she did you have any horror storeys yet, yet? Oh, yeah. Okay, so a final one that happened last year in the States. This was for my friends. My friends, brothers like, third wedding just off the bat day. Yeah, it was really like it was a hillbilly wedding. You're sorry what your brother's friend was my friends. So I was going along I was like staying with my friend and she's like, Oh, it's my brother's wedding this weekend. I was like, Oh, you should told me she's like, Oh, it's pretty low key. It's fine. Like, just come along and I was like off really bad. I'm like, oh, I've got my camera like, Oh, I can shoot some video if you want. And so the bride looks up and she walks past me down the aisle and she reeks of booze. I was like, oh, and so like, the ceremony and stuff was like, was it in a church? It was
11:48
like it was like, that's not Yeah, that was a bond. Yeah, and I say like it could be swamp
11:55
of the US deep Michigan. Okay, great. Yeah. So
12:00
ceremonial that's pretty pretty. Okay, it's it's nice and then the favourite part and when I stopped filming was when the the bride played her like first dance song on the stereo and the newlywed husband wasn't there so she took a full bottle of jack daniels and smashed on the middle of the dance floor and stormed off on the side coming back from that yes
12:27
there was that coming back together still but there was no coming back for the kind of really great video that's the thing that's the thing and that's what it like it kind of broke my heart because I I cut this cut this video together and and one of the like, the ankle was like, Oh my God, if this looks so amazing, and I was like I think this is where I've gotta I gotta finish it. No, no, just the bottle smash and then it just it just like bottle Smash.
12:55
Wow. No, I didn't know I actually I wasn't Oh, we will all
13:00
kind of waiting for this first dance to happen. And I think like the husband was just being nice. Someone was leaving. So he was like saying goodbye. Thanks for coming. Yeah. And then she just got sick of waiting. So she threw a tantrum. Oh my gosh, yeah, it was pretty raw. I mean, that's, I mean, that's the worst the worst and that wasn't even like an official, you know, like, it wasn't official wedding. I don't mean like, I wasn't getting paid as a videographer to do and I you know, I get away with words I fuck up my my wording of things quite often, which can make me seem rude. And it's only in hindsight that I sort of realised I may have been
13:33
Tash, who is the person who I shot. It's the first and only wedding video that I've ever made. And I use that same term when I saw her just recently, she gave me a nice compliment at the podcast. And then she said, I have to tell you, we watch back the video you made so often, like we haven't even really looked at the photos and we watched the video and I put a lot of work into it. And I said, Yeah, it's the it was the first last final
14:00
ever made. And it was I got what I've, which is why I usually put my foot and what I meant was, yeah, I put a lot into that one. I love making your one. But that's my
14:11
I'm not going to do any more of those. It was nice to do one that I love tell you because I don't want to get fully
14:18
realised and I and I'm sorry if you're listening. That's not what I meant. It was a great winning, and I really enjoyed shooting it and editing it. But I don't do weddings. So it's a different beast. I can get very good at changing a certain style and all that sort of thing. You get trapped in that stuff though. Definitely. Yes. And I tell you why because you have to book so far in advance. And I was talking to a friend of mine, Justin and he shoots weddings or he did shoot weddings event ago. And he was telling me the other week it broke my heart. He went through a divorce himself and so then he's rocking up every Saturday and Sunday and he's shooting weddings he's booked out 18 months in advance.
15:00
So he decided that he's like I don't kind of necessarily believe in the institution anymore this is I'm finding it very hard to you know rock up and be excited all days because you as a as a photo or video guy go you spend your whole day is so close to the couple and the family and all of that. So he was just like, Oh, I'm going through some shit right now. So that broke my heart when I heard that and he's he's still done them. But yeah, he was saying he got out of it. And this is a few years back and stuff now he's very happy boy, but I was like, Oh, that must have been so hard. Yeah, there's nothing most sickening when you're going through heartbreak than love. Or totally, or do some people watch, like, love storeys, and when they going through a breakup to feel, you know, like you sometimes wallowing in your own fucking emotion is sometimes Oh yeah, it's bad, but it's kind of not Yeah, I'm upset. You know, it's like, there's a lot to be upset about, but sometimes it's just like basking in that shit.
15:56
Good. We do it.
15:59
Enjoy it.
16:00
We're just on the high now after watching that video, I'm feeling fucking great. Yeah.
16:08
Mr. Nice Evan was thinking to himself is that what Josh saying? That probably can get away with it if we don't mention it again.
16:17
Yeah, yeah, I was. Yeah, we don't want to beat a dead horse.
16:22
The I remember doing a couple of
16:26
weddings like when I was really young like 16 and it's so depressing where they put you to wait. Oh my god. Yes. Like it's like in next to the industrial kitchen or whatever. You're not really and it's like, the photographer and the videographer would sort of be secret like almost like a small. Yeah. Genki table. What's so rude. So what was your observation of the experience of RM 500? Because we had then the hosts experience which I think is this disconnected a saying to my wife last night. The crowd was a
17:00
It was FOG To start with, because I'm like so in my head, so I can't interact with accounting guys because I lose track of what I'm doing which I was doing great job. Tommy a little bit. Yeah, my heart was going and so there's that nerves, the fog, it kind of lifts you can start to sort of engage with think about what you think you know, think about your words what you're saying interacting and so it sort of lifts but then it's a surreal experience for us. What was what what was yours? What was your view of the whole evening because it you've got a you've got it sort of zoomed out you know being behind the camera with a cropped 35
17:38
am I right?
17:40
Yeah, it was nice. I mean, I was there and I felt like in this like proud uncle position you know, like I don't have I haven't done anything full like my niece or nephew success, yoga success, but I was just like, I feel a part of it. This is great. So just on the side and in the video. It's like I was watching you guys was probably watching the crowd. A lot more.
18:00
I already knew that you were getting recorded so getting a lot of the the crowd stuff was was nice and wasn't as hard because what was lots of laughs and smile so yeah I think testament to you guys was the the actual gronk that turned out like everyone was so nice I was talking to people at the start and I was like I'm sorry being also I gotta go film some stuff out for chat yeah and I was wearing like a yes theory shirt and a lot of people like oh you like yes yes I didn't even notice yeah
18:31
yeah I didn't you didn't even remember the show afterwards. I was just like the right show you talk about I remember it Who am I
18:41
like this I'm a time he walked past me during not.
18:46
nerves are an interesting thing because I didn't feel nervous. I felt this like jazz energy.
18:58
It was just a sort of energy where
19:00
yc I've got footage of you before and you're pacing up and down and at that point my heart was racing real hard because we're waiting to come out and I just took a few deep breaths and
19:12
found some relief in your nerves which I saw which was
19:16
to me it's it was
19:19
it was less nerves and more like this excited AG that I'm packing right like, this is what we're doing because if you think like when I think about nerves there was no sense like I felt like I was completely in control of my voice like I feel like the first thing back in the day to go would be like, like your voice sort of that you heard it
19:44
No, I think I actually think not saying I think I definitely noticed his voice a little bit of a shift just just
19:54
you know when you get what you really just ride at New happy to do you know, yeah, but I thought that was interesting.
20:00
I'm, I don't necessarily think like Bray was saying RUP was a few pills that are you nervous or whatever, you seem sort of different. And it is that thing of Yeah, there's overwhelming, excited feeling. I think I'd feel nervous if I had to read membership. Yeah, if I had to remember names
20:20
it would have been a nightmare. That's why the raffle works so well. So number letter in terms of what's what's brought my nerves to the forefront. That's probably the one thing in the last month or two. What about you? I want to go basil recognised.
20:38
Cool, bad feels right. I mean, I already get it. So from an FPS Yeah, I mean,
20:45
from gronk Yeah, that's good. I like it. Yeah. Uncle.
20:50
Uncle, which is Uncle Trey. You can have more than one I think about Yeah, we have a side of the family.
20:57
Not like not i'm not separating myself from
21:00
So maybe we can be on the same side brothers
21:08
Yeah, so
21:10
what's what's made you nervous in the past sort of month? Keep it keep it okay. I did a big job with cricket Australia so that was that was like very anti same thing though. It's like nerve excitement. I wasn't I wasn't nervous about like, our ability to do it wasn't kind of like nervous if things like fucked up or whatever because they always do and you know, we were doing something very much in our wheelhouse you know, like a like a kind of like a sit down kind of like interview thing with the plays and now we're having fun and I knew I was editing it so I felt safe that like I could cover up any fuck ups.
21:50
But still, it's like a it's a big thing. It's like before like, was when kwacha walks in the room. I'm just like, he's coming in. But it's it's also one of those things where you have to
22:00
So much to think about, you kind of can't dwell on. You can't dwell on it. Yeah, well, that the stuff to think about rips you into the moment because you don't sit in the moment live in the moment, it you won't be able to do it you want to be the other thing too, is I reckon I was more the feeling I had was more about being in a social setting
22:22
where everyone knew who I was. And so I there was that sense of everyone is a talking opportunity, everyone. Whereas normally if I go to a party or whatever, you know, I've sussed out these are the people who know me. Like if I'm at the shopping centre, and I see someone that I know, depending on the mood, there's definitely a high chance that I could pretend I didn't see them and you don't have to talk to everyone else. Then it's like the panic sets in because when you haven't addressed it, then you're playing this game of I'm trying to predict what I all they're going to be in. So then you're trying to do all that and then yeah, but you can create a get you can create a whole storey
23:00
You had which can be quite destructive. Yeah. I was just gonna say it's your party though. That's the thing. You invited everyone. So you have to kind of feel like you have to talk. Yeah, you know, and I never have parties. There was the feeling I had was like we you can do what you want when you're in a party. And that's what I kind of felt I was just running around with the camera and like Spain, silly thing. Like break him up to me. And she said, You've got to go speak to people.
23:26
And which I appreciate. Yeah. Which I appreciate it. And then I started doing it. And I was sort of enjoying it all. It was all fine. What if it wasn't there? Do you think?
23:36
Well, you had said we had said beforehand that we were going to hide? Yeah. Which I'm glad we did. Yeah, I know. Because he realised bored Actually, yeah.
23:45
But I wonder what the energy would I think but part of it was it's like this overwhelm of face name. This that sort of thing of like this.
23:56
Who's it like context switching even talk about it. Did you notice the
24:00
The almost ginormous fuck up that was made Yeah. Okay good show but it was moments before we're about to go on stage actually the the 20 seconds the video Josh edited for like the pre walk out yet halfway through nearly to the end and I said to Josh if they buttoned on every press record on the mixer, which is taking the audio feed the cameras were rolling we knew that that enrolling Friday was the that was the one of the few times where we didn't have redundancy. Not like we plug in from the mixer to the camera but it was such a long distance between the camera and the mixer that we didn't run an XLR cable which we've learned now will always have redundancy so that is still a hard thing for us to set up but we have a photo that Campbell talk of Mr. 97 with his hands on he's he is like this can we put the photo up now you can get the other video was it he basically panicked because of
25:00
We asked him, Hey, have you press record? And he hadn't so as the 20 seconds before we came on, he went up, did you I was worried that you would have gotten in the way of the projector? No, no, because I came from the side where the lights and the speakers were so I snuck through there and hit recording. Was Derek like, ah, lucky. Oh, he was just
25:23
he was in the video. Yeah.
25:26
I didn't think he realised that I hit record. So I told him like afterwards and he isn't sure you heard him say it might be too bad to come up.
25:37
For that, I think I appreciate that. 97% sorry. Excuse me. I think I've ever had that before.
25:45
Next Level type of tied back Yeah, I'm glad I'm glad we sorted that out. So we bought done what should we do for the next event? Any feedback on or thoughts will try to work out do we do Episode 600 think that was February. I know February 20.
26:00
I'm pretty sure Friday Valentine's I mean
26:05
Bernie's birthday Yeah. week after I think it was like the seventh or something seventh right. Anyway Yeah. What should we What should we do? What should we do one every hundred or does that same to every three months? I mean you do I can you could do something he's just something you know something to celebrate it something something different it's one a quarter if you look at it like that, how do we get this?
26:30
You know, like the reason to do a highlights package. Yeah.
26:35
regardless
26:37
how often directing is a good amount of time. You've been a fan of a bunch of podcasts and you you worked with Jake and Amir when they were in Australia doing a lot of this type of content filming all this sort of stuff. Yeah. What is some of the what some of the feedback or thoughts on what we could do for future?
26:54
I feel like that that reliving what has happened in the last couple of months is
27:00
is an awesome exercise regardless of whether whether you could actually throw an event or not. But the the events super nice, right? Yeah. Different do we do you think that the content that we did on stage versus what we do here? Was it different or the same? Ah, I think it was, I think it was a little different. But I think you guys are a little different every day, which is, which is the fun thing. You know, supportive uncle. Yes. What a supportive uncle would say. Yeah. It has to get has to be different, though. A different because because you're going for the laughs like, you know what I mean, like the way you always go for the light to be because I heard Tommy saying, Yeah, yeah, he was. Yeah, yeah. He was like, he's grade six self. Yeah. Yeah. I was like, what are we talking? It was just Rob, talking about the event. Okay, this is Rob board from quad lock. Yeah. The guy with for Google homes at least. At least more? Yeah. How many did you have you were there. I mean, I saw four but that's
28:00
Just on the ground floor.
28:05
Yeah, no. So what was the Do you think that we're reaching for too many? No, no, no because you're trying to entertain you're trying to entertain the people that have come along and so you're you're doing some crowd work which just makes sense. You got it. You you were doing some polling hands up hands up Amanda
28:27
which was also equal yourself out afterwards as well. Yeah. Yeah. But you enjoyed the those jokes. Like Yeah, I love it. Oh, I love the Save as well.
28:39
You like you like oh, that's, that's, that's what I got. That's what I deserved. And I was like, oh, solid
28:45
instant self awareness, which you've you've spent quite a bit of time in the states it seemed. Yes. Yeah. What? I know we've been doing la fact, the day yes. anything fun that you know, I couldn't even be an uncle bears fact. Like it doesn't have to be his technique.
29:00
But
29:01
this all fell into some swamp la God now I'm so that also that with this what do you
29:10
do in LA if you go to well I guess
29:14
I just this LA and New York all the thing about America I love is is just when they're a parody of themselves when you meet someone that just show LA or something happens to you in New York there's just like so New York, you know what I mean? It's like someone like a piece of pizza gets pissed off and I'm like, slap a pizza against the window and his slides down. You're like, this is a movie I'm walking in. You know what I mean? It's like that's that's just the real life but you like this is this is the movies like the diner stuff. More coffee, more coffee, coffee. Yeah. It's just pouring and then you start speaking up in your head. All right, Josh. Yeah, it's fun. It's actually
29:53
it's nice just to be able to sit on the plainness. It's also nice to address everyone in the room. Nevermind
30:00
Guy contact with you gotta
30:03
we stare at each other. When you're looking at guys, I don't can you actually even see him through the camera? No, seriously, what we're looking at? Yeah, I mean, it's just the Rio de mean I don't know what the headlines like I only know my perspective. I know it would be arrogant to say on you yours. I don't think it's arrogance or awkward. But the coffee thing what else is then show? What can we what can we look out for?
30:26
When they give him a name right so he has to actually physically move he's home. He's home fucking body. Yeah, anything anything? Yeah, anything like to show a lie that we can look out for? I think, why like what I liked and this stance, I hate this already in my head. But I like what I like is being a creator and being that because people pump up your ties. And I'm not saying that. That doesn't happen in Australia. And I'm not saying that doesn't happen in the community like you guys have started because it's very positive. But when when you when you get to LA and you're like, this is what I do. People are pumped about it and then people pumped
31:00
Like when you when you start to talk about it and you don't feel kind of trash talking about it, you know, like that top tall poppy thing. I do think that that's a real thing. It's like when you have friends who are like, you've been pretty heavy on Instagram lately. I'm like, motherfucker. That's what I do.
31:16
A lot. That makes sense. So, my best friend, Reese Mitchell, he's over in LA. We're gonna have him on the show. Yeah, an actor. He was an upper middle Bogan, and many other shows, but he was saying one of the things and he's like, I'm not coming back. I love it over there so much. And he said, the people are so supportive. Yeah. And I think he's, he will probably tell us this, but the the feeling of like, what the industry is like, in Australia versus everyone's in that town, to, to make it and so just and so, but I know he made that vibe of Americans celebrating success, and then the creative community, which then enhances that vibe of you doing that. Yeah, you're doing that amazing. Let's all do this. So you said maybe
32:00
Like Josh pointed out that I'm the you know call them people opportunity opportunity opportunity. Yeah sealed
32:07
locked locked in directly if we code like if I got on the blow up and just or even went into shops and like hey guys we're from Australia you know this is that before you did that with suck on that jaws work dude I got into the back back entrance point and shoot camera I said it was an online TV show and he like got like free like winery to winery tours accommodation. It was fucking ridiculous. And that was just putting myself out there. Maybe there's the putting myself out there with the understanding that we actually have now something back then I had nothing to build a website but had no real videos to show. Do you think that would like the the American the pay the people they would be receptive to capital of gronk he's what we're doing. He's how long we're here.
33:00
any opportunity at Hell yeah, I think I think it's like a double edged sword though. It's it's like they'll be super pumped for you and then they'll potentially just not give a shit because everyone's doing it. It's like It's like everyone's your podcast bro. Yeah Jeremy that's the bro Do you have the only seven day week podcast and video show in Australia? So this is what I'm trying to just real out
33:24
in the
33:26
numbers again, is your food or drink that we need to have while we're in the States? And have you done in and out like yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, we did Episode 200 from In and Out Burger. I don't think there's anything like super sneaky that you that you can't get here anymore. I think the sushi burrito was like the one thing but then he got up in Sydney and stuff. So he on the, you know, the vaping to the Grammys.
33:52
We want to Yeah, we're not going to go
34:00
cherries and stuff. I had a MD like asthma.
34:04
That's what that should bring that
34:06
there was a time where and I was wondering, I was doing all this walking. I wasn't losing any weight. And it was like on this trip and I was having Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Mountain Dew it was just like that combination. I was just like high on sugar.
34:23
Francisco just like I did like I did 40,700 a day that's I would have been having like a night yeah, it's quite crazy. So I do have those things going to CVS going to a pharmacy. Yeah. And buying a bunch of crazy chocolates and stuff with is like all the sugar free right and that's like the bad foods they're bad for you to start with with the sugar but then the sugar free stuff even worse, but they have like the more rain that the greater range of sugar free products that are just peanut butter m&ms. Why? You can't give it ministry. You can but you can't they say
35:00
There's don't sell them. No so you can get the like any any of these things you can get the sky you can get from Costco. So I went to conspiracy Jimmy went to his house and his wife got a bag. But there were there were bags inside of bags. There's like mini packets inside of a big packet are going to meet who works at Mars who said this specifically something in the formula that's illegal in Australia. So I wonder what the deal is. Maybe there's something around importing remember that they don't sell it yet. They don't sell it on like they don't stock it.
35:35
sort of thing. Classic right, but get you 70 days I remember when grey imports were like a big deal like it so the
35:43
kids and Michael's cameras so like, they just couldn't compete with all the overseas stuff. I remember buying like a man Frodo. It's called the magic arm or whatever.
35:56
Those things are remember like 400 bucks or something in Australia.
36:00
Yeah, and you could get it like, delivered here. 200. If you went Yeah, I've received Oh, yeah, I remember like you, you run the you'd run the math. And you're like, what? It'll be $200 to ship it to Australia, but then it's still going to be Jaffa you like, does that make any sense? So they ended up changing like in the early like nobody's there was a huge discrepancy between, you know, all of the prices in Australia. And overseas, it was because the distributor was charging. The camera stores more and so they couldn't be competitive. So then there was a big push against Brian ports. That's when they'll talking a lot about like warranties and things like that. But now, they've lowered the prices. So because they know that you can just get it shipped, but now they're just like, Okay, well include tax to all that sort of thing. You should be better off getting it in Australia. And we did. I think Kogan used to do some grey imports there. Yeah, it's not like illegal what is the term grain but what is important is getting product from a different region.
37:00
Like so different distribution, so I bought some airports for Bry
37:05
I got them from office works. No JBJB Yeah, the job was Yeah. And they
37:11
I opened it up and it was it had a manual for like Malaysia. So you know, you don't get the same warranties and shoot I think with the Apple is because they're an international company. You pretty good. Yeah, but it is a little bit dodgy because what they do it like this against sort of playing the game of currency conversion or so thanks for saying okay, we can actually there's actually a way if you type in an article 97 it was done a while ago. It's like what an iPhone costs in different countries. And so I think it was seven you bought an iPhone outright? iPhone 11 Yeah. How much 750 but that was because you guys $500 voucher. Oh, no. Yeah, so so because I'm locked in on a Telstra plan. It was you
38:00
Well the thing is that if you type that in it used to be big with the iPad, you can basically see see in all different parts of the world, what the taxes and all that sort of thing so you could actually say okay, is the cheapest in Indonesia to buy an iPhone? Or 2012 for the days when someone when a friends would say, can you buy me something from America? Now tell them to get Yeah.
38:25
Yeah, but the other thing too is there wasn't like the supporters and stuff like that like the makeup shit so Bray would always have this fucking long list of love to go in and ask for NAS any like traditional when you're travelling do you bring home something's there. Now I started town
38:42
now I tried still like to send postcards when I'm away. That's really nice even send like a couple to like my housemate which is really myself, you know, in the long run, like what do I want to say? I'm like, Oh, I like that.
38:54
So yeah, but I don't know. I don't have like a like, I'll bring something
39:00
My nephew's I still try and bring something for them. Yeah, there's three of them three little little gronk
39:06
But yeah, no nothing. No, no, they might get the whole article and they might get Yeah, I look out for him
39:15
but no magnets or I liked I do like that stuff. I think that that's that's cool to be doing it all the time. What about travelling comfy so I've got solid, something I've worked out you're not gonna bring a neck pillow? Yeah, if you
39:30
can bring the neck pillow it's one flight. multiple sites is annoying. And I'd rather have the neck pillow there then not have it. The other thing I'm bringing songs. So because I like the pillow is so big. It's so hot. It's not that big. This one. I think it's so hot. So my my travel company now is our lip balm.
39:52
And if I want to spend the money go and get eyedrops to keep me hydrated the eyeballs hydrated toothbrush songs.
40:00
And then it colour What about what's your solid? I used to wear like compression like underwear this yeah yeah yeah especially on those long ones yeah
40:11
just as in like the the full pot things
40:16
yeah yeah
40:19
yeah yeah but like the cheap version yeah I did I definitely saw I saw a big
40:26
like New Zealand up but those these huge married boys and they were just rocking the skins with short shorts with with the thongs with with singlet the neck pillows and I was like these guys do it instal and it makes sense they huge I know so it's like they've got a you know, you're gonna have you're gonna have been the comfort zone for 48 hours. I was like, I'm gonna rock skins and it's also it's like it's good for it's good for blood. deep vein thrombosis. Yeah, yeah, no, I like that. I like that. I mean, you give me a little pod. definitely bring a pair of tracksuit pants. I mean
41:00
Seven you'll probably see us in most under travelled. Yeah. member of the gronk squad in this room
41:07
in a thing that you would like, you don't know what you don't know, I guess.
41:11
I mean, I was bringing a passport and bring Yeah. Where is your passport right now? It's in my bedroom on my shelf. You can remember it Yeah, I mean it'd be not may not have no no yeah
41:25
I was thinking about it a pillow. It's a blow up on so you don't have to worry about I do it not worth it. Blow up my trash. Yeah. Trash, Trash Trash Trash. Trash. Trash Trash had to be in case of that.
41:39
I wouldn't, I wouldn't have thought of bringing a toothbrush on the plane.
41:43
So I don't know.
41:46
To be honest, I didn't bring anything
41:50
at all. The only thing we could say I was gonna say have you been thought respectively after a fight fight that would have been nice to have a new pair of underwear because I
42:00
Nothing is not like the that's a
42:04
yeah so some people like going up and get into the bathroom and do all that sort of stuff not like DC once that fucking controlling yeah bloody back is going down yeah I just realised engage I will have my white comfort headphones the Bose headphones noise cancelling yeah that and I'll have them on and that's that's really playing something or you just put it off put on an audio book I'll probably download
42:33
there's a good album by Kimber g boom boom bap erase Mitchell did the artwork for that out at all down paint the cinematography. Yeah, so I feel like yeah, I'm very low maintenance. I don't even drink too much water.
42:52
I don't want to have to get up.
42:56
Don't take a leaf out of
42:59
New York.
43:00
You will
43:01
think, think about this. Anytime you ever hear me say that when we were when we were in New York. Yeah. You were fact this is not me having to go around saying in regards to the experience or who
43:19
was three months and then I met him, and I was absolutely routed from the 20 hour flight. And I came from Europe. Yeah, three months you'd be travelling. He been travelling your acclimatised to the good life. And I can drink.
43:36
He couldn't get five bottles of wine, basil, Matthew struggling a little bit with 100% because I got off and hadn't been walking and then we did 15 k die. Why didn't you use the design? Why isn't there's an app called time shifter. And it gets you into the time zone of the country before you go night. We're leaving tomorrow. When do I bring this up. I'm going to I'm going to bed to
44:00
Night at eight o'clock waking up at three o'clock. Wow, mom's got like melatonin spray. She like
44:07
that he's just revealing that. Yeah, this is that sandbagging I spoke about
44:13
Seriously? Yeah, no, no, but it's it sends you send you notifications when I'm on the plane up at three. Maybe I'll do this while miking up at three o'clock 19
44:24
yeah
44:29
it says four o'clock
44:31
four o'clock this morning. I think it is. And then I've got to get brought light exposure from four till 2pm at solarium
44:42
from for.
44:46
Yeah, exactly. So you're gonna have I mean, you'd love it. You just have to find your face. Well, this is the main this is the thing. Like I just sleep on the plane. So my whole approach which is perfect, is like a lot of people will say okay, you know
45:00
Stay up for the first half, then fall asleep. And so then you wake up for breakfast. What's wrong with that thinking? Because that's know that sounds worse. But from a personal point of view, I can sleep anytime. So I'll sleep at the start. And I'll sleep at the end. I'll just say, yeah, I'll just, I'll literally,
45:15
I'll have my headphones in. I'll be playing audio book. When I'm awake. I'll listen to it when I'm asleep. I want so you just go through the motions, wake up, go in and out, in and out, in and out. So you had a mediocre Like I said, I think the thinking would be stay up, try and actually get some solid sleep. So you get into your REM sleep or whatever, you know, you get into that state, and then you wake up you like ahead lyst but I've had a solid amount, because I've done that. I've done that one. And I've tried to do the stay at one. Tomorrow's a flight during the day for a lot of it. Yeah. Which would make sense. I mean, I just don't think it's a good idea me changing my approach. Yeah, cuz I don't do what you do, what you do what you do. I think you can have all the plants in the world and then it can still be using us up
46:00
Yeah and I daresay it'll take you it takes you a couple of days through the shift anyway and I wouldn't I wouldn't say don't do it was fucking jet lagged for Sydney
46:12
so you gotta you gotta figure out what what works for you but then just know that the universe is gonna is gonna fuck it was gonna delay you a couple of hours are you gonna have like you're gonna be through I was one surrounded by full babies on a 15 hour flight and I was just like, this is just comical and you have the law and I was like I have noise cancelling headphones but the people around me done and they're just heightened live uncle be Yeah, I'll be surrounded by two bad couple and that'll be surrounded by
46:40
arrangements. Yeah, I don't want the middle is Yeah, I think so if i whoever's in the middle or I can we could sort of do a rotation I know Josh might like that be missing. I seven. Actually I'm finding the middle of the hallway. It doesn't. Wow. I mean, the generous stand up got the thing is
47:00
That I slayed
47:02
serial killer
47:05
like Ben Affleck in that movie
47:09
it
47:11
does on the plane yeah well yeah
47:14
it's just got mental itself that's a very formidable isn't a mosquito
47:19
that's I mean, it doesn't have to be solid me. Let's just celebrate like I'd be pissed if I was in the middle
47:25
but I deal with it. I was in the middle to Singapore and it was fun but I mean
47:31
I it's funny I think that I've built a I think part of my storey is that I'm low maintenance when it comes to travel. I can sleep anywhere. I don't need it, like even things like noise. Doesn't bother me. I've never been super
47:51
tall gronk Pete Shepherd was saying, caught up with him on Monday morning he said he had to go and tell off his neighbours because they will make
48:00
noise at 1030 and
48:03
I don't like that sort of stuff I'm pretty I'm pretty good with like it's it doesn't it can take a fair bit maybe like physically pushing me is one like when it when that's a bit of noxious I just hope we get a three to the side so there's 343 so hopefully get three we can just close it up you know the gronk we just speed the light on each other you know one of the things like you close your eyes yeah and like that's what Yeah, so you do what do you think basil? I love it. I yeah, I I'd love to be a passenger beside you guys. record on the plane by the way will recall me with some Bob's
48:41
the we need to speak about that. So I was thinking we should be doing two wins two storeys each an hour for the daily talk show.
48:48
Six now 16 hours, 16 hours across the 24 hour period or Yeah, so we're gonna have to rotate sleeping.
48:56
jokes on that last bit, but I think that if we did a sort of
49:00
12 to 14 hours a day waking hours to Instagram storeys and that's that's doable I mean to do that even if we hit three quarters of that it's imagine that we can dial it in so we can say do a poll to a photo do a video to a questionnaire poll the photo video question time Paul video what you want How about this do what you want just gonna get the two out? Yeah, that's a good
49:29
thing I know I'm giving 97 a bit of a structure because I know he likes he's probably already got a skin to grab.
49:36
We
49:37
Yeah.
49:41
Way collective whatever goes collective. You know that the
49:45
slightly risky of basil uncle basil, thank you for coming on the show. Go and watch that video again. He
49:54
literally we were in a meeting this morning and
49:59
just pulled
50:00
That and just said, Hey guys, watch this video Episode 500 the highlight video and yeah, he did got it up. Well, yeah, it was a good time. While the guys even said is that j mu? Yeah. Which were? Yeah, it was it was. So they go to daily talk show I will say tomorrow so Tomorrow is Friday in Australia Thursday in LA. And we'll be streaming we're going to live stream from about 6pm
50:31
in LA, which I think will be about that to our Instagram, eastern shores every two hours. I mean, you know, every hour. You've got plenty of laid out on announcements.
50:44
Perfect. Thank you. We've got some emails, but we can do that. When we're in LA. I will see you tomorrow guys catch a lie. Thanks, basil. Bye
