the daily Talk Show Episode 681 tap into guys what's going on? What are you wearing?
0:14
I look like a junkie in Abbotsford or something just prepped for Friday night drinks, you know just try on a few different outfits. Now I found these on on the desk. Amy was on a zoom call last night and she had them on for some reason. But I'll put those down now. But just on the junkie thing, man, I'm living with a junkie. I
0:33
the chocolate stuff with Bodhi right.
0:36
Bodhi is a janky it's, it's scary. It's absolutely scary. But he woke up this morning. downstairs, I just hear this pitter patter and I'm like it's never a good so it's either a good song because they've gone to bed or it's a it's a bad sign because they're up tonight. Good. And then he Candice was owner and said, Can I have $1? No, I came downstairs. He'd gone outside he got two chairs, put them together got up onto the top of the fridge which I thought was high enough and at the back to get him away from the chocolate and he's smashed for eggs. This bigger than like a picture like a large egg that you'd buy from the supermarket like a real leg that size for the absolute junkie. How could I
1:24
be doing this like it seems not questioning your parenting but if he gets a chance to get the two chairs stand up doing that sort of thing.
1:35
Yeah, a junkie can sniff out you know the the drug anyway, it's full on it's full
1:44
on there's a time
1:46
Yeah, how much time between Do you think he's actually spending trying to to get them? Not a great deal could be a few minutes. He squeaked by even went outside. went outside toyed
1:58
What about little ridges. That's it. Big thing.
2:01
You get locks
2:02
locks off. Yeah. 100
2:05
bridges. I mean, for me once Shame on you fool me twice. What's that? You know, fool me twice. Shame on you. You're about 25 times.
2:12
Yeah.
2:13
Yeah, the joke is on me now, but I've now just put it in a cupboard that he can't get to. But
2:17
that's not what you just said about the free Jedi.
2:20
Yeah, that's, that's why I'm saying I put it at the top like he could climb in the pantry. He's he's a little unit, bro. He's an absolute
2:28
jerk. anism It's impossible. Now you don't reckon he'll get them?
2:33
Nah, I never say never. You know, I've done some big missions to go and get some substance in the past. And I thought I couldn't do it, but I did it.
2:43
So are you saying that you're a little unit? Like are you giving him a little bit of praise or what happens when he gets on?
2:51
Absolutely not. I had him upside down hanging one at one leg. He had an eye and I took him into his room and dropped does he think? Do you think he thinks it's fine? He's not laughing. He's not laughing timeout hates it hates timeout.
3:03
Does he mean Walker later?
3:07
Yeah, they really mean. So it's the ultimate not my problem. It's he's at daycare at the moment. But I tell you what, he's my problem getting a little cold. I've got a little cold boys. No good. Whose fault is that? Well, it's not blame Monday, so I can't really blame but if it is
3:25
your sponsor by Wednesday
3:30
bowties I mean, Jordan Peterson says raise a child raised. You don't want to hate your child. I'm not saying I hate my child. But you
3:38
know, it's annoying the fuck out of you.
3:44
Yeah, and I love it. I feel like I grew up with my mom saying that a lot. I used to like I think that my parenting it's very easy not being a parent. I know. By thinking that my parents my mums and dads parenting style. I think was very much like, tell Josh why he's a bit of a shit kid. But I think maybe it was because I was so over the top hyperactive where I feel like potentially George, you look like you're the result of never having a bad thing said to
4:17
100% correct?
4:19
Yeah, just like nice, timid whereas I'm like I'm ready just to tell everyone to fuck off and maybe that's because that's where I grew up with.
4:27
Yeah, no, you did right. I was well in my family I was the youngest. So, you know, my brother and sister always getting into fights, but then also at school. I feel like everyone just kind of locked me
4:44
locked into how annoying your mic levels if I'm honest,
4:49
yeah, that's not likeable.
4:52
And so TJ, I think like the locks would be fun. I think there's a ways you could go, you could go the locks or there is also the The Mad magnetic smart door solutions. It's just like a little. It's just like a magnet. And when it gets sort of separated, you'll get notified. So like an alarm system.
5:11
Yeah, I mean that will shock colour. I'm tending towards the shock collar. Good work. Yeah. So I think it's soon and in the comments he's saying, I hope you guys are watching the comments. Yeah, brother rely, man, what do you think we should do? What should TJ do with these parenting? Yeah, my son is just getting into the chocolate, and he's sniffing it out finding it out. But I mean, he had options this morning though, guys, because I mean, baked all these cupcakes for workplace. And now we're on the bench. And so if he got into the cupcakes, it would have been, you know, quite, it would have been really fucking annoying.
5:49
How could you create a lesson like how could this become a bit of a lesson? What about if you were to switch out the chocolate for something else or to or Even wrap the use the foil and put vegetables and fruit and put it all
6:06
in the fridge. A plant I should do that sentimental camera I don't know if it's because then what you're doing is setting him up so you're going do the behaviour but then on the other side it has to be what if I put real eggs like real eggs wrap wrap real eggs boiled hot so hard boiled so it doesn't know let me show you how to do this tomorrow definitely what about these
6:31
when I with my cat my my cat? And what we would do is you fill up a water bottle and just spray like if he's dying to go to the fridge or spray the water on him.
6:42
Yeah, that was a thing I we had that for our dog too. But I mean I wonder what just is like a human rights like it doesn't have
6:52
any easter eggs in the morning.
6:56
Can you can you put like a bit hot but could you Do you like to scare him when he goes to if you see a hand on the like in the bar on top of the fridge or whatever, he's not really looking at what's going on there. Could you have like a? I don't like a little toy snake or something that pops out and scares the shit out. I love that.
7:15
So you just want to really build some fear into the kids.
7:18
Why not? Why the other stuff working?
7:21
Yeah, we had this we had this is interesting. Okay, sorry, Philippe in the comments. Sorry, pay pal. Fish in Brazil. When the kids want to eat something bad, so bad. We give them a lot till they hate it so they won't ask for it again, which
7:38
gave him a pack last week is he
7:42
now he's just doing
7:47
big cigars. Nothing they could visit. There's a lot of fun in him. I think a horns would be fun. I think there's definitely a solution. That's just If you want to go cheap, which I know you do, you could just get like a speaker system that that just attaches in the fridge. And that you've got a remote too. But I guess what? Yeah, I think that Harry says a mousetrap.
8:18
Yes. Yeah looking scare tactics
8:20
will only work so much. It's like raising your voice. It only works so much before it just like it crumbles. They just it's too much for them, you know?
8:29
And so what's what's what's your fear about it becoming too much? Isn't isn't not okay. Too much.
8:35
No, I think I think it's what you've laid out is tactics that scare you so bad that you don't want to ever do it again. Yeah, and so, but also
8:44
led you to crumble him and then build him back up based on
8:48
it, but does he doesn't have to know he's a Navy SEAL?
8:53
No, I think that it's okay. Like if he's clearly got too much confidence right now, but he thinks it's okay. And so if you just feel Like, you know what, like, it's life or death right now and you need to settle the fact down. And this is my house and this is what we're going to do for a bit and you're going to follow Yeah. And you know what you're going to spend all day in timeout you're hungry I don't give a fuck. Here's my mom used to do this all the time. He called the place column should give you the police scared to call the police. And in the grand scheme of things, he's got fucking hot water. He's got all these great facilities. I think he boy Yeah, he's a lucky boy. And so the thing is at the moment, lucky boy is based on eggs. Let's get back to necessities. A bed to sleep on, you know, a roof over his head. And the way that you got to do that is to break him.
9:45
Alright, I don't mind the egg thing. I reckon I could boil the eggs. Break
9:51
the night he gets a nice egg to your belly
9:53
but when you think if you wanted if you wanted chocolate, would you go look someone's boyfriend Nago late late the egg now.
10:03
I would probably ate it. Yeah.
10:06
virus is a really dark piece of chocolate. That's a good idea. That's
10:11
a good idea. I said the hot mustard
10:12
and I got to an age where I started enjoying the hot mustard when I would swear and I'd put hot mustard. So I couldn't I couldn't be used anymore.
10:22
But yeah, I love the dye chop it
10:24
make it spicy. Spicy is good.
10:26
Yeah, he so even he calls things that are spicy, prickly. And he calls my prickly beard sparkly. So he's gonna change the words he's got he's got it mixed up. So he's gonna think that it's prickly or you're gonna give him some spicy food prickly
10:43
Do you think he gets a sense with the chocolate stuff that there are consequences if he hates them?
10:49
I mean, I think just making sure you follow through but I put him in timeout is a solid white, solid white like
10:56
he has the full me once for me twice for me seven times like, yeah, is he learning?
11:06
I mean, you're doing a Michael bungay stanier. Like, setting me up for the answer that, you know, no, he's not learning. But I mean, this is what the lengths he go to for chocolate, but I, I've just been eating chocolate
11:20
thing like, I don't think like, I can add chocolate.
11:23
He's not going. He's not going down getting, you know, looking for his wheat bigs. Like it's a real challenge. It's off the back of last weekend. The real challenge is in beating your kid, you know what I mean? Like that's a real challenge for parents. But you don't like the child resorting to flapping ovaries bombed to make it sound like I was smacking these bombs. And all that did was hurt my hands because I clap so hard. I didn't even slap these bombs. I was like, that pays me off even more. So what does he
11:53
say if you like, if you're quoting for something, let's let's let's make it a business analogy. If you're If you're quoting something for a client, and you say, you know, we've got, it's gonna cost 10 grand, and then they say we've only got seven, then what normally happens is you remove something from the quote because they can pay seven grand, but they're getting less. It feels like do you have that structure where it's like it is obvious things like if you do that there, see this? The the the iPad, the iPads no more.
12:29
Yeah.
12:31
Well, I think it's chocolate. I go to you not having chocolate again for months.
12:35
That's the full release scare him because he's just fucking like to want you to forget what chocolate tastes like that sounds
12:45
like jakka willing any virus yet?
12:48
Or is he tall? Now he gets embarrassed. It's funny because he gets out. He says, Oh, I don't want to go to daycare. I'm shy. Mate. You're not shy. I don't know where he's got that from. He's a main yack the people in the streets knowing next door neighbour said that there was people walking past saying, where's that Bodi kid? How do they know him? I don't know these people that are walking past. He goes up to me. I'm Bodie. Hello? I'm Bodie. It's cute.
13:14
It's a supermarket. As a kid when I was in the supermarket and we will be naughty mum would just say, I'll just lie down. I'm gonna lie down in the middle of the aisle.
13:23
If mom would do that,
13:25
yeah, without such respectively Taz I love it.
13:33
Well, I don't think we should have did it because we just stopped because it's too embarrassing. how old he would just be like, don't donate the chocolate or I'm gonna go pick you up from daycare in my undies or something.
13:46
I would actually go to die.
13:50
Surely
13:52
I see that unity. I mean, because I know that I'm not living it and so it's, I'm sure there's parents yelling right now saying Josh. You have no idea what you're talking About Yeah, no, I say this to kids like Vegemite.
14:07
Yeah, I mean when it's got butter, butter and veggie mark. Okay,
14:11
you know, so you couldn't just give him a spoonful of veggie?
14:14
Oh, I don't think you'd like that. No, no, this is so that's the point animal like that.
14:19
Yeah. What do you think serves? I feel like you're like if TJ Is this the soft one? I'm the hard one. George. I don't know where it sits. And then I feel like you're you're quite the sort of the good in between what do you think should happen?
14:39
Yeah, I mean, you could put there I guess there's like, two ways you could either make it the I guess the punishment sort of thing come from you. Or you can set up a mousetrap or something like that. And then it's like, you know, I wasn't down there. It's not me. So you could go like those two routes where it's just like, that's what happens. You know, I didn't set that
14:58
up, but he said like a comma. So Just sort of teaching him about Yeah,
15:01
yeah. What's
15:03
that? What's that show the nanny vibe? Not the nanny, but that um,
15:08
yeah, super nanny. It's not. It's not possible.
15:14
Like she doesn't put up with shit. Yeah, super uncle,
15:18
this sort of, to be honest. There's a part of me that would absolutely thrive. Like if you were to give me permission to be the hated one of your mates from bowties perspective. I would be happy to be the super uncle to go in and be like, Look, things are changing. I think there's something really fun in that there's something really, in just a way that on the other side, he won't be like an art like, aren't you worried that if you are a pushover and you don't do anything that he will end up being a little asshole when he grows up?
15:51
Look, I think a pushover wouldn't hold him upside down by his foot and put him into his bed more than twice. Like I did it multiple times this morning. You're right it is
16:01
this morning.
16:03
The the, you definitely are thinking long game. When when your apparent like, you gotta, you gotta face up to it today tomorrow. It's, it's a constant grind so I empathise with the suggestions based on you don't have to think about this for the rest of your day because you're the only one stealing your own chocolate.
16:25
And so you're like worried so you're worried that if you do it that you're going to have to live live that life you're gonna have
16:32
to, like not forcing discipline is a tricky is a tricky thing. Like, when do you guys need a discipline someone other than yourself? You know? It's It's a weird thing. Okay. I mean, enforcing discipline on your own self to stick it something is hard enough.
16:49
It's hard to disciplining myself and I couldn't I'm very comfortable with disciplining other people. I think that's why, yeah, it's
16:56
the giving advice versus get taking the advice that you giving out and acting on it. That's I think we the challenge we all have right?
17:04
Shannon says ha ha ha ha ha your parenting advice makes me laugh, JJ. It's truly entertaining. Haha. I think I've hit a nerve with Shannon. What do we think he has.
17:19
We did it like that. It sounded like really some passive laughing. Haha.
17:28
No, I know everyone's doing their best, but we can all do more.
17:32
Hey, Ilya Brown has mentioned that she's in New 12 and she says she's been at school for two hours and I've already received more than 50 notifications came to you guys for a break. Today kids are going back to school in Victoria at least a lot of them are doing the homeschooling thing and I've seen a few parents on Instagram post. Wish me luck. And you know, like Michelle Laurie comedian. She's posted something about Like, you know, going, she's so pumped that kids going back to school like, because teaching kids at home doing the homeschooling things really hard. I mean, it's probably not on your radar guys, but thinking about thinking about this new world we live in with the homeschooling stuff. It's, it's, yeah, I mean, what if it's so it's full on?
18:23
What about me becoming the I, we could do a show called the proxy parent? So I could because I've got opinions on this too, like, you know, we could I could put together curriculum in half an hour.
18:34
Well, it is, from what I've heard 90 minutes is about the contact time so I was listening to Sam Harris's podcast. And over in the States, they're doing the homeschooling thing But literally, it's a daycare service for grown children. like think about yours socialising at lunch and play lunch or recess and you know, within the classes how much Active Time Are you putting pen to paper or like, you know, the teacher delivering the information? It think about it, like if you condense it down, I think that's what we're finding. The condensing down is meaning that you're seeing the real time that a class or day is taking from a curriculum perspective. And then all that other time is just, you know, just trying to go to the toilet or you know, saying you're sick and going to the sickbay to have a sleep. That's what I did.
19:26
Like, what do you think would do if we if we had sort of a show, kid? So say, if we had a kid that was a shy kid,
19:34
yeah, shared kid, like a lot of sharing.
19:36
Yeah, Olivia. Can we have Shannon's keep?
19:39
No. Austin's
19:42
too young, Shannon's actually saying. Also, please note that you can't discipline a toddler the way you would an older child slash teenagers slash adult. Their brains are that of a toddler and infant even. Even the concept of discipline to toddlers is foreign, teaching them He's had enough lead lightning forcing it. So I think essence too hard. But 11 at 11 years old, I think that's a good age. If we were to sort of CO parent the four of us, and you, Bob, let's give it let's 11 year old female her name do we want a boy or a girl?
20:20
I mean, boy, George can choose. Okay,
20:23
boy, good boy. Yeah, right. Yep. And now name. Any suggestions of names?
20:33
I feel like George would call these son George.
20:38
You mean Joe senior would call him?
20:44
Definitely. Yeah.
20:47
Yes, stripe, stripe.
20:51
PayPal sort of.
20:53
Can we call him? Let's call him Rona. That's right now.
20:57
Yeah. Oh, Ron. Did you hear there was actually Right is that these twins, these twins that got born in, I think India or something and the parents called them COVID and Corona.
21:07
Yeah. Can we just talk about why, like, you know, it's
21:12
bogans in India, it's it's, yeah,
21:14
is it you know how people are saying COVID-19 versus Coronavirus? I've heard a few news anchors correct themselves. Oh COVID-19 is this ISIS and I is Coronavirus is like there's been Coronavirus for forever so if you type it like I was watching a video that was like over a year old talking about Coronavirus, which is just as a type so COVID-19
21:40
that's like the Coronavirus is the is like the base virus right and the COVID-19 is a strain of Coronavirus, SAS savvy to another person
21:49
and what I'm saying
21:50
like I'm, I'm trying to work out are they are they trying to you know how there was like the issue with ISIS using the brand They didn't want to give it that, you know? COVID-19 is the disease names. It's great. Yeah. But is it a? Like, I'm just trying to work out why people are sensitive to it?
22:10
Well, because there's going to be more Corona viruses in existence. And so I guess you need to identify the exact disease.
22:19
Great. I wasn't sure if it was just like people aren't we can present it if we don't want to, you know, we want to sort of give it the less impactful name COVID-19. Sounds less, just more confused at that point.
22:31
And so what so what are we calling acute
22:34
rehab? What do you think, Ryan? What do you think about Elliot?
22:40
Elliot's good. No, I don't I don't really like Elliot. Why, Tim?
22:45
Tim is my dad's name. Tim. James is nighttime is yours, isn't it, George?
22:51
Ben, not mine's Thomas. Thomas is right.
22:54
You have one of my names you had my first
22:57
and my son's Michael Thomas as well, as well. Yeah, we
22:59
call it me. Right, says Sally Tom co v two is the virus that causes COVID-19. We need to get grace back on talking about diseases and also my disease and ticks.
23:11
Yeah, great.
23:12
We could well maybe we could give us some stuff so she can dust up on specific info that we need. So we're not just throwing down you know the first 20 elements, Grace because I didn't hydrogen boron,
23:26
hydrogen, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon and hydrogen, helium and lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon everywhere. Nitrogen all through the air. There's oxygen so you can breathe them for I
23:36
don't know. hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, neon, sodium, magnesium, silicon, phosphorus, false sulphur. Cool. I'm potassium.
23:45
I liked my science teachers.
23:48
I really wanted to embrace you hot and heavy right now. Now that's Yeah, this is a crisis. This is hot.
24:02
And so Okay, so alius or we're not calling him Elliot what a final name. TJ
24:10
what's wrong Joe? Joe, Joe, Joe.
24:12
Joe for Joey. It's the Year of Joe.
24:14
Yeah, that's good. I like that.
24:15
Yeah. I like Joe. Joe.
24:18
Yeah. Joe and what about Joey? Joey like Joe, Joe, Joe Joe. He goes like Joe exotic Joey. And so, Joey, he's 11 years old. Going back to school today, but he's, he's taking turns at our different homes. What's what should we see?
24:40
Is that guy beat?
24:41
Yes, I think Yeah.
24:44
I think that's a killer guy, baby like gay couples baby guy.
24:48
Have you heard that before? are we are we are you guys divorced and you're now Tommy, you're with me, Mason.
24:58
Yes, yeah, that's good. I think Yeah, and so wait, so from a past so TJ and I were in a marriage and how will it yeah we
25:09
had a falling out.
25:09
Yeah broken up.
25:11
Definitely. Yeah I feel like for both of us, like George you're very much the new partner vibe for Tommy, you know.
25:21
I'm jumping ahead a bit can we build in the surrogate mother? Like, is Shannon the surrogate? Is she she birth the child gave it to Josh and I and now
25:30
probably judging it right.
25:37
I don't think we need to work out the surrogacy situation. gronk is definitely George's
25:50
knows happy Harry's
25:56
and so, so Joey. So Joey's the 11 years old What? What grade is he in? It'd be in grade.
26:06
Seven grade six
26:08
grade I turned 12. Is he just turned, turning turning 26
26:12
so he's turning 12 so he's in grade six final grade
26:16
top dog like your top of the top of the I mean if he just went to a primary school where it finished at six primary schools do but not within you know, some of them go on to your seven eight so you the kings, the kings and queens of the school. Yeah, that edge.
26:32
And so I think To be honest, I think that's where our parenting is gonna differ. I think that you you're gonna bring up a Donald Trump you know, just King to the to the euro. Like it's just settle down you know, you know King, you're at the you're at the bottom of the food chain. For a lot
26:47
of people I'm saying you think it you think it I thought it was you know, grade grade prep, or grade one. You saw the grade sixes in Lightwave. Look how big those people are. But then you get there and you get to use And you realise that you just a little bit because there's the twelves. And so it's, I'm just saying the cycle the kids mentality. I think they're the oldest that Sean
27:09
says, right. Sup fellas, I've been trained by the premise of the daily talk show since the beginning. He thinks we should be more specific with our content. Shawn, how can we get more specific? We have a child that's 11 years old. Joe Joe what what more do we can we nation into just pair of
27:31
eyes? Yeah.
27:33
And so okay. So curriculum wise, what are we all pushing? What are we teaching?
27:42
sport? sport. Joe.
27:48
Joe is ageing. He's got a day to day. Joe is Joey is a little pocket rocket. Okay, so he needs to be he needs to be run, run. It needs to be put on
27:59
I think Can I trust sibs looking after stem?
28:04
stem? What Really?
28:06
The science maths, it's all that sort of life science tech. Engineering math.
28:11
So look, I yeah, I mean I get I can do basic maths that's I can do that. Yeah, I can look up the stem.
28:18
You are the smartest out of his parents. What do you say? Can I just I'm brought in to be honest. I'll bring out outdoor activity to the table. George, what are you bringing as a parent to the table? What do you want to take on Joey
28:34
has hospitality? Cooking? Oh, yeah, that'd be great. stuff. Yeah.
28:40
All day. Oh, this is interesting because he's gonna go between house to house and he's gonna say that Mason's the better cook. It's gonna be kinda, you know, so. Yeah, I'll do that I'll do cooking.
28:53
Shawn says every show should be about this Joe character. You may Okay, and so now the sport thing, the adventure stuff that makes sense. What are you doing JJ? I look i think
29:07
i would love Larisa. She can be the dance teacher Josh.
29:10
Yeah, I would do dance. No, I think there's also something in poetry. I'd love to do. A lot of what because I think saves your writing your creative writing
29:22
journalism, just Yeah, that'd be my writing.
29:26
I've got a book called How to Read. How to Read. poems are really so I think that would probably go through that how to read poems. Yeah, how to write a poem.
29:42
You just write.
29:43
This is right.
29:46
This is sad. Don't get mad. Sometimes I just don't get at all.
29:53
But that's why it's all holidays and stuff. If you don't get the poem. That's the pounds problem.
29:59
Yeah, I'm not gonna Sorry guys, man,
30:00
you guys are ignorant. This is smell right? Oh,
30:03
no, I want to I just saw this stuff on the blinds next to my setup here. Don't sniff it and it looked like water has already touched it. I've been. It's look at this Can you see that stickiness? Oh my
30:15
god.
30:18
That time runs out.
30:22
No, it's um, she didn't smell that bad. It's Oh, oh my god. The junkies been down here with a junkie. Along with chocolate. I went into his bed last night. He'd got up on the top of his. He's like chest of drawers. It's quite high dude. It's like double the size of him. He climbed up and he got down the panadol and the panadol must have been a bit open. And he's got into the panadol and now the panadol splashed on here somehow. Oh my god. Okay, guys, so
30:57
there's no good Oh, Joe is To be honest, this is a friction like if way co parenting the friction is that he goes to your place and just can run an absolute mark. And then he tries to pull the show back at
31:11
our place in wages.
31:12
Yeah having none I mean, who who does he want to go away with
31:16
what he wants? Right Emily this definitely
31:21
sorry night. Joey's grandparents live in Byron Bay. We're able to go up to the bar and get good coffee from the Brewster of the bookshop. I take him on a run we sometimes see Chris Hemsworth don't we George? We do
31:37
we have a great
31:38
What do you hear? What do you guys say? What are your holidays me Joey
31:42
Joey Joey's busy learning about valence electrons. Yeah.
31:47
Loving rockin buzz kill
31:50
it seriously. Yeah, we're going to take we go to New Zealand, but we get when I get to New Zealand.
31:59
We got acquainted.
32:00
Hey Joey, have you seen this little app? It's called Old trails.
32:05
It's actually fun.
32:07
I imagine hat Dalton Joey would be with those apps. Like we've spent so much time finding all the right apps and he can just inherit all of them. What? Yeah, he's
32:17
an outdoors kid for us. Hey, Max fyz he hunts gathers that sort of thing. He doesn't need electronics. Joey
32:28
I don't believe it because Tommy, I can imagine Tommy get getting around screen time with Joey. But we don't allow it in our house. But on the on the curriculum stuff. So there's your poetry writing? I think language language not really self expression. Okay, great. So we would have basically a no but I also think, listening skills. What else says What else? We want to teach him listening skills.
33:04
Yeah, yeah, listening is good.
33:08
I think it'd be I think it'd be great. Getting him around dancing and music soon and you just asked how we know each other so soon and Tommy and I were married now. Husband and 97 Wait, wait,
33:22
wait, wait, wait, are we ready?
33:26
We met on that flight back from Toronto. Yeah.
33:32
No, I was having a fling with dill
33:37
Sudan. We're talking shit. I'm sure we've explained the last
33:40
few other episodes Lara that's that's Yeah, definitely some Seneca some, I mean, TJ, you haven't done the obvious one, but meditation.
33:50
I feel like you're on the beach here on the beach up in Byron,
33:54
what about IRA would you get mom teaching a bit of Catholicism
34:01
As in my mother, my my mother. Yes. Yeah. Now just clarify call me mommy. Mom. So but he went to Bob colleges as well so sorry yeah I mean yeah definitely
34:18
pay pounds can in Portuguese that epic made yeah great bilingual child
34:24
for both Yeah, definitely.
34:26
Definitely right if you a couple of languages, English, Spanish
34:33
today this I heard today that people who practice a religion so not the doctor in office but just a daily practice of it happier than those who died. It's interesting
34:46
yeah I'd like to do a thing on world religions in general for Joey not sort of just I think that every year he could read one sort of religious text.
34:57
Yeah, interesting. Whatever Getting wood it arrives my roof. Sorry. Sorry.
35:15
What age can he try marijuana George?
35:19
16 Okay, yes. 16 Okay.
35:25
This is great. Are you getting it for him? Oh wait is where's he getting it from?
35:29
His praise it got me a coffee. Oh, thank you. Oh, this is great. Cheese everyone. Oh yeah. And so a couple of languages says Olivia. He's 11 almost 12 Yeah, I mean, the thing is that it's a lot easier to do this shit when they're young. By the time you're 18 No offence, Olivia but you've got no capacity to learn new shit.
35:51
But a gallon fluent. I was fluent in Italian by the time I went to seven. I'm not even joking. And I forgot
35:57
what
35:58
really made me happy. other day we asked you Is there something you'd like to tell us that nobody knows? I forgot about that is an
36:06
app. Could you say something? I can't even I did the whole point. That course that Falcon the FBI uses I've forgotten at all.
36:14
Yeah, because the
36:17
the school I went to Lyons primary school was half, it was bilingual. So it's half Italian, half English really, and the halt so for half the day the teachers would only speak Italian, not even a word English and so he
36:31
says OMG George I can speak Italian too. This is this has become some sort of weird Friday. Who I actually actually can't anymore.
36:43
Georgia. When you got that little dirty sanchez of yours is that when you got that dusting underneath your
36:50
nose when I was about 12 having
36:57
did you learn a language
37:00
I did fridge in primary school and then you know what to gain nine in high school, but I went to New Caledonia for like it was that was a French excursion, but I'm hopeless. I can't remember anything.
37:14
Grice's that is Spanish Mason. Okay, sorry. Jesus to to see disgrace ever call you 90 cents or is that sort of is it all just nice I'm really not.
37:27
Yes Not really. 97
37:30
Yeah, she's she's. She's not the the fucker. Phone Guy. passport number place. Yeah on the passport number.
37:44
No, the, the the thing with the passport. My passport expires in November. And I was planning on getting it renewed in fed because you can't you can't fly using a passport. That's got less than six months on it but I feel like I should just wait now like there's no point getting a passport right now
38:06
if you've got the cash I think the emails will get it done.
38:10
Like now I was thinking I got like 10 years if I can actually just put like safe we're not going to be able to do international travel for say 10 months or whatever safe I'm not gonna go over season till Jan next year 2021 might as well renew at the very latest point so then I get a full 10 years.
38:29
There's nothing worse rushing to get a passport, nothing worse, like the pressure. Yeah, I did. I had to get one before I went and did my stripping adventure in New Zealand. Okay, I had it rushed through cost more money. It was it was a nightmare. And Josh, I know you got because you'd have to carry both. Because the US visa because if you want to get your visa put into that one, you have to go through the process again. So you could carry to the knowing
38:59
and so we're For an excursion point of view for Joey we all we got to as couples, we got to pick on one excursion. Ah, George and TJ Where are you taking Joey? Well,
39:12
we're if we're in Byron half as nimbin
39:18
nimbin
39:19
was the pot smoking capital of Australia? Is it yeah
39:26
so this is what I worry this is like I guess I don't I don't have one choice my Yeah, I feel the exact same way. What is not an experiment in? No TJ you think it's all fun and games? What we're just getting into it but he's fucking brain is developing. He doesn't need that shit.
39:48
I George is the one that said 16 that he can have it.
39:51
The 16 is gonna live right now.
39:55
Mike, do you know when I smoked weed for the first time and while I'm guessing about five on the way you're acting You
40:01
know, it's no good grade five. I tell young whitey Yeah, Chase.
40:08
Yeah. Anyway, so where are you taking him?
40:12
Well, I mean,
40:15
George, how do you feel about
40:18
where to go? Yeah, we have that we have that Wait, no, we have disposable income who stashed up? Well, George George's George got a loan from his mom.
40:32
Why do you think Tommy married me?
40:36
Wasn't Yes.
40:42
Those what you do with with these toes?
40:49
Yes, I will go to Europe. All right.
40:52
Yeah, maybe that time to be honest. says What do you like excursion wise, I don't think we need to go. Silly to be honest.
41:02
Well, this way the responsible if whether responsible parents and we're building up a nest egg for him I don't think we can blow all the cash on excursion.
41:12
Did you guys have dolemite, by the way?
41:14
Yeah, we will get to that.
41:16
Yeah, yeah. You probably bank isn't it?
41:19
Yeah, I'd fuck all in dolemite.
41:22
Yeah, cuz I had I
41:25
had to complain to comm bank recently about some weird money going missing. And I called what was what was like 70 bucks bought on Amazon, which I just didn't do. So, um, so I called them I said, Ah, there's been a weird transaction. And she answered, she's like, Ah, thank you so much for being with con bank for 26 years. I've been a loyal customer. Geez. So I've been there since I was born.
41:53
Yeah, I've had an assignment account that I've had my same account with common bank for years. I've still got it there. I somehow I think they do. So this has actually happened
42:02
after you die as well. Na na na na
42:04
na this dude at the at the Commonwealth Bank is fancied me and we got along quite well. And he gave me free free account no no fee. I couldn't believe it. I was like can you wait for that fate is that yeah, that's like swipe
42:25
the body at all no jelly
42:33
yeah we'll get Joey's Joey's got the iron Jays got the splurge save he's got he's actually got up and run up world digital. Yeah. He's gonna save is dialled in, he's got automatic transactions when he gets his wage coming in. He's why he's old. He's talented, he's actually invest he's got an index funds and he's just but he's not spoiled. He's not spoiled. Shannon says. I just renewed mine. This is about passports because I was supposed to be going to Vegas my 30th this December Alas, I don't think it's international travel will be open by then. Fact. Surely there's an opportunity for us to do a Vegas themed party for Shannon in December. Yeah. What How could we do it show? What What would a Vegas party look like?
43:18
What's a Friday night drinks dedicated to Shannon?
43:21
Yeah. And so what is that? What Yeah, so what do we need pokey? We do
43:24
spin now Vegas theme you could hire your hire dealers and stuff in a and tables and set up a whole walk around and play like games. That'd be Yeah,
43:33
yeah, it was all virtual. What can we do if it was all virtual?
43:39
We get some form of gambling, some betting on something. Don't know what it is and it might not be real money. Could be gronk coin at that point. And
43:47
Bobby Shawn from the UK will have the gronk coin ready by then and we could use gronk coin that
43:53
has a good idea.
43:54
Yeah.
43:55
Yeah, like that. today guys just sidetracking because I think we'll We'll explore as as who said suggested to us that we focus on one topic per day. Think that was another guy Sean. Yeah. Another guy Sean. Yay. As he said, This podcast is now all about bringing up Joey. That's all we're gonna do for the next 10 years pretty much I could get around. We'll check in to see how Joe is going over the over the years. over the months, today,
44:27
Joey's gonna have his own when's he getting social media by the way?
44:31
Well, with social media account, he's gonna be able to stop. He can post with a knock at the moment. Yeah, but it has to have died in a
44:52
real hurry. Anyway, we'll settle this in the courts Josh. And so now a few things going on. Today, just after lunch guys, ramble Campbell is going to be dropping another video that is helping us work out by the end of the day. What we're going to be doing for our dress up Friday night drinks. That's
45:15
cheese that's controversial.
45:17
Oh, well, we need to get it done because it's actually not a smooth video. It doesn't go on the show, George. It's just on Instagram and our social media. And and then later in the day, George, you're gonna be dropping something pretty special again, actually, Matt.
45:33
I am so we're deciding on the
45:37
on the same now. We need to decide. Yeah,
45:39
end of the day. End of the day,
45:41
George. Do I need it?
45:44
Oh, we haven't worked it out. Okay, that was why Well, I mean, wait, this is the first time here this George.
45:50
Mo i thought i thought i think i think Larry left very light. I have tried to not be invoked. I've tried not to rescue this because I'm not what am
45:58
i People don't have that much on Let's be honest. It's gonna be around the house. It's so what's right.
46:04
So the video right I love ramble. I love all the videos he does but what's what's the video?
46:09
It's helping us work out what we are going to be wearing. And so the end of the day, this is what the video is gonna be the end of the day we're gonna say it's just a part of the promotion Josh let it let it ride out a bit baby. It's into the day. We're gonna lock in the exact cost you
46:30
can you send it to George freeze prior How much?
46:32
Yeah, yeah, because George
46:35
George's only okay.
46:37
That's perfect. Yeah, that's
46:40
right. To daily talk show 4pm george will be presenting his Hump Day. Any any teasers? George? What can you tell us?
46:52
It's, it's it feels a little bit like second album. Those that kind of vibe. Yeah, say You know, just lower your expectations a little bit.
47:04
Yeah, but look, people think second albums sometimes bad, but if you're a true fan, you love every album.
47:10
Yeah. I think you guys love it. Like it's
47:13
about a cry.
47:14
Now when we love you, George Bobby Jones. I love you. I love you guys. And we love Joey.
47:19
Thanks so much everyone. Shannon says let go of control for a second, JJ. It's all good. Yeah, we got this. I think I hit a nerve. Shannon. Just trying to proxy parent
47:32
right man just pop Rain Man popped in at the end and he's saying what if I missed who's Joey? Yeah,
47:38
Joey's got a lot to catch up. Yeah, he's acted. Yeah. Well, Kelly told Joey see at 4pm guys have a good one. Say yes.
