It's the daily Talk Show Episode 870 guys What is going on?
0:14
Ah yeah July Christmas also known as TJ Christmas in July
0:21
Yeah, we got the Christmas rolling
0:26
we've currently auger little half assed What do you call it like outfeed on I've gone Oh jesus christ look I've got from the garage. I've quickly wrapped around my head. The Christmas lights. Hmm, I may get electrocuted. I don't know. But all I know is that I can change it up. I can really go tell is just you know, I can go yellow. Yeah, there's a bit of, you know, when you hold your power, you know, you know when you have a laptop on your lap and you kind of feel it in the testicles. Slightly just sorry. I don't have time with with you.
1:04
I feel it all the time.
1:07
But it feels funny. This feels funny around my head. I think I can feel maybe just little bits of heat on each of the globe. But either way Happy Christmas in July gronk.
1:17
Should we talk about the poor guy in the room? You can talk about the poor
1:24
folks in the room. Oh, thank you to Australian Polk and in particular Andrews choice who kindly delivered us all 3.5 kilo pokes
1:35
and so out to the pork of TJ TJ what's been a bit of pork talk just to get started. Yeah.
1:47
roving reporting about the pork here get a guy's well I can report from Blaine is that we have a 3.5 kilogramme pork in the oven. As you can see, it's the light is not in the best position. So it is kind of blowing at the shots. It is very hot. It's to it was at 240. Now it's down to 180. And it's got about an hour and 45 to go the crackling looks great. And, you know, it's gonna be a happy time here the jackets may even take some leftovers over to the teams, and then over the other next and the neighbours, and so yeah, we've we've all got, you know, different different hats on. I feel like I've got the the pavao one.
2:27
It could be it could be from st Patty's Day,
2:30
but uh, sure, JB Well, you dropped it off to me, thank you for doing that. I'm not even you know, so anymore. So there's no real reason for I guess. One of the four reasons doesn't include Christmas hats. But
2:43
work Josh, this is work.
2:50
You did still make me wait outside your door. Yes.
2:56
Yeah, and, Jess, how are you feeling in regards to To Christmas in July. Have you ever done it before?
3:04
I did it when I lived in London. It was a big thing over there. Yeah.
3:08
So that summer time. I mean, I feel like it's nice in Australia because just you know, July is winter. I've had a wreck and we had an impromptu family get together in July that was I don't think was cemented as Christmas in July. But on the die, I think we'll like it's July. This is our Christmas in July. It was the best. Maybe it was it was the best get together of my family I've ever had. There was something about it. And it was just that there wasn't the pressure of Christmas. And it was like, Well, if you don't get it, right, doesn't matter. It's July. And I don't know it was I've had fond memories of Christmases in July. So anyway. Yeah, I've got bees.
3:52
I've got it. I've got a little gin and tonic. Exciting.
3:56
Jason's got a fishbowl.
4:01
That's something else. Nice.
4:03
Nice red wine glass.
4:05
Can we get around glass? Can we just talk about the woodwork? Jess, I know we're talking visual. So make sure you jump on and watch it on YouTube if you're if you're listening to this. Tell us about that piece behind you, Jess.
4:19
Do you want the phallic paste the story or the actual story behind
4:22
the whole? straight straight to the cock and balls if you want but
4:28
I'm
4:29
sorry. I made it as far as I don't know. These are old floorboards that I picked up at a recycled timber place. And this is a nice piece of timber as well. Also recycled and yeah, made it and it's really um, that magnet is quite
4:48
hot. Yeah, that's true. Sorry. It's for industrial methods, obviously locks locks doors. Yeah, you did get a mention you did mention this. And the reason you would work was because you thought you could pick out I would work.
5:03
I also wanted to make something but that was another reason a secondary reason I suppose,
5:09
Mike a
5:11
nice guy.
5:12
You can find a nice guy. It would be nice. I'll tell you what. Yeah.
5:17
A nice guy or gal has sent us a card because it is a i f 800. Guys. Would you like me to read the card? Yeah, definitely. It says it says do not open until 800.
5:34
So this was this was this was left at our office. And I couldn't get on the security camera exactly who it was. It was a big toll figure that and so it's it's a it's a card described on the side. So that is nice. Bright. It's got
5:55
beautiful balloons. All right, I'm going to open it up. Oh, it's nice. It's this writing on the left. And the ride but I think what they've done is gone Japanese and gone backwards.
6:05
This is generated. I'll write it out. All right,
6:09
Josh, Tommy, and all the team
6:12
congratulate for while you're talking to you.
6:16
Congratulations on reaching your 800th episode. Look forward to listening to many many more. Love the show and all the content best. Oh no. I don't know if I can read it. Haha Harry Haley. like
6:38
Harry, Harry.
6:41
Thanks, Harry. Oh, Oregon.
6:44
Yeah, I
6:46
don't know. I'm gonna say multiple Harry's. Hang on
6:50
Javi This is a fault that way. gronk
6:55
if you need an extra pair of hands to help out, we'd love to Get involved or if you need a British voice to mix things up. I would also love to help out cheese. Harry. I think it's Harry. He's written Harry. Harry launch.
7:14
Yes, a British Harry loach.
7:16
Well, Harry Lodge is the voice over King.
7:19
Do an accent he's Australian and Harry. Harry Roth is not England on that he's from Oregon. Oh, this is started Spencer's Harry
7:27
says Casey in the chat. Yeah, we I think we've worked ascertain that we won't get too bogged down.
7:34
He's put his mobile number here so we can we can give him a buzz right now actually call it now.
7:42
Frank gotta walk ever since I gave out my number, the one to bring up I want to bring a higher production value to the show. And so I asked George to create a new background for us.
8:00
Really launching today Episode 800 This is great. I mean, so
8:05
I mean, I think it was the whole premise of it was, you know, Christmas in July. Let's, let's celebrate let's, let's design something nice increase the production value. Okay, here we go.
8:16
So I'll switch over, get ready guys. Let's count it down and we'll put the new background on okay
8:23
100 raise
8:26
white.
8:28
Hang on.
8:33
It's just a black background.
8:35
There we go. There we go format did you send its
8:38
JPEG, JPEG data you put a picture on before now you
8:43
know, well I don't think we're not going to be able to do background Look what I'll do is I'll just show you what it looks like here we go without it being on the so this is the Christmas This is the Christmas background. You have to watch the video if you just cancel We asked for de la
9:02
times background but with a few a few little things on it like a few little What do you call it Christmassy looking giveth
9:12
is a bit underwhelming.
9:14
Oh, sorry, Harry is in the chat right now on YouTube. Harry. Harry. Harry Johnson. Thank you for the car buddy. Mike. Thank you, Harry. Sorry. Thank you, Harry Johnson you can read properly. So generating lessons as a kid. You've
9:31
been spending some time doing something. Did you want to did you want to throw to that?
9:35
Yeah, sure. So
9:38
Well, yeah, I've been taking a little trip down memory lane for the last 800 episodes. And I've cut together a little video which it just is so much fun. And the stuff that we do here is
9:52
so much fun. So this is a highlights package you've put together over the last 800 episodes. Here we go.
10:00
We're going live three.
10:03
This is not gonna be
10:08
a talk show. I'm Josh, the other guys, Tommy, if you're listening now, you are one of the early people to listen to the show consistency builds momentum.
10:18
In the long term, you've done a crazy goal by chipping away
10:22
three at the moment. I really believe you're doing good work today, this week and this out and that other shit would take care of
10:27
itself. It's about growth over a long period of time, rather than hockey stick
10:32
doing it when it's a mad
10:34
idea. And slowly building equity is awesome.
10:38
Would you do this job if at the end of it, you're not famous and rich, this is a true sign of whether you really want to do something or not absolutely,
10:43
you got to push you got to sharlee just keep doing the work to get to the next spot. And this is the first vomit that we've had. Is it too much pressure not to take a hashtag sit down too much momentum.
10:56
Well the last time we spoke I was sort of saying those Getting a bit of a man flew. Daily Talk Show Episode 300 500.
11:08
guys what's going on,
11:09
man? pretty sharp The closer to six.
11:13
Josh is about to embark on a full month trip. Where are you now? I'm currently in Florence, the island of ska.
11:21
Nice about to head over to Turkey.
11:23
And why the hell are we at the creek?
11:25
Because I've pushed for it really pushed for
11:27
it. I just think on camera. I thought you weren't gonna mention that we're legitimately going all in on filming every episode.
11:34
July. We're studying seven days a week. Happy birthday. Happy New Year, a Christmas Christmas could be a real lonely time for some people. It's not if you're listening. Yeah.
11:44
What does it mean to be gronk thing and gronk means not always being right. You've taught the wrong way. But a willingness to improve cannot be one. Yeah.
11:56
You reveal that you're wrong. I think you'll live a more wholesome life. Do you know what the squeegee has to do with this? Yes,
12:04
you gotta be kidding me. It's just everything you could have done. I said what was your into school? Yeah 9797 if Mr. 97 goes on a date, it is extremely important that the board is made aware.
12:16
Come on. He's such a catch. Look at him. Oh my god, no prayer. We are in Los Angeles. Yeah, this is Hollywood. I think I'm allergic to mosquitoes.
12:28
This is the first time I met everyone something other than the T shirt.
12:35
I can't wait to
12:37
meet you is gonna be our last interview.
12:41
Doing this is the drain.
12:44
Really good. I am just saying that I am just saying that a bunch of stuff is about to change and he's already changing. I think there's a lot of opportunity to have two different types of guests.
12:56
It's called Georgie boys Hump Day replay. Welcome to the daily Talk Show formal. This is a beautiful sight to be seen Episode 700. Put it in your calendar. I'm so sorry to interrupt your announcement. Oh, my goodness.
13:14
I've got a big bottle of Prosecco
13:16
24 hour stream.
13:20
Michelle, Welcome. Welcome. Laura
13:23
has a girlfriend she's based in her
13:25
here is just a hot dog agar
13:28
is involved in that kind of thing. She's looking at
13:30
Rice. He's moving to Melbourne.
13:36
This show of being the platform for the next generation of you guys. And it could well be massive. You just got to go on the journey to get the epiphany. Was that worth the time?
13:47
That's the one thing we're not
13:54
going to buy. Hey,
13:59
Good night. I love it you. Well done.
14:03
It brings the it actually like it makes me emotional, I think. Yeah, yeah. tingling. Yeah. No, I mean, just like, Yeah, fuck, we've done a lot in a period of time. I'd also like today,
14:17
Josh, Josh, if I watched a video like that when I was about to get started, I think I would have said, that seems a bit too much. There's too much ahead of us to have to do. But that's why you don't if you knew, like, you don't want to know. Like it's all legit like that is encapsulating the journey for us. And I thank you, George for spending the time there's no one else I think could do it other than you because you have such a great eye for you know, listening and seeing what we're up to, and how you want to share it. So I don't think we could do anything like that. And so thank you Georgie boy. Pretty sure thanks. I appreciate it now as it was so much fun, but yeah, you guys are just the best And being here, like I've only been working solidly on the daily talk show for about six months, but like, the stuff I've learned, and it's just the most fun. So I'm super proud of that. And I'm so proud to be part of this team.
15:16
Thanks. Thanks, Jamie. I think
15:20
I don't know how serious I can take you when I look down to the bottom right of the screen.
15:27
polecam
15:31
take a look at the bottom of the screen on
15:36
the screen.
15:42
Right if I was to, what if I'd actually thought it through we've got sort of a grid set up for people who are listening and what would have been great is if I had a pork butt underneath me and I lifted it from but we but we can't do that now. But yeah, I think like the The thing that's even more exciting is the other stuff too. For me it's the the development of the team I think it's like looking at what you've done but I don't know why
16:14
you've had red wine.
16:15
Yeah.
16:18
off my face
16:22
Yeah, I just think it's it's um yeah it's got my you
16:40
know, my eyes are watering now as well yeah.
16:50
Now that just like the amount of in you and tell me the amount of work you put into the people around you and making them develop and encouraging them to, you know, be the best But they can be it's super inspiring. And I've never been around people that have been so incredibly motivating and and like the leaving their, their crew as much as you guys do.
17:15
Yeah, I mean, like you got you guys talk about building that team of people around you in that support network and I think every, every every person that's involved comes as a result of everything that you've put in you both are put into it. And so I think yeah, I mean, there's just a massive congrats to you guys for putting all the work in.
17:36
Thanks, buddy. Yeah,
17:37
my son, my son, my
17:41
oldest son like she's watching YouTube.
17:47
It's great. It's the head of this tool is that you will be super ungrateful. I think I've had such an ungrateful attitude today. And it's because it's it's it's fat because it doesn't slow Down, everything keeps going. And it compiles and you get more and more and, and as the team's going out and so it's like this whole journey has been such a fucking workshop for mental health for me that it does like what you think it will be like is never what it is and so it's like how do you and I think you forget that just in everyday life and so it's like what I love about this is the accountability to make myself think about what I'm going through and how it's going to affect the team and then you know my life my marriage in my you know, with my son and just makes me stop to think about how I'm feeling and how it will impact everyone around me. So that's my two cents. I love you guys. Love you.
18:51
Let's cut let's let's cut to the pork shot.
18:56
To cover up the fact up thing about the pork is I actually So I've I've really ruin the timing which is unlike me, but I I took the sold stuff I did the the all the stuff that you needed to do so Craig I got into our Instagram and he said, Hey, if you want to create a perfect roast pork, you need to let it sit overnight in the fridge don't try and make it yourself. No but I am. So put it in the fridge, let it dry out, add salt to it all this sort of thing he said it should look like snow. And so I did all of that but I left it very late to actually put in the oven. And what I didn't say before maybe this is why I'm getting teary is because the apartment filled with smoke what I've done because the park is so big. I didn't realise but I'd actually left. I the pork was heating the roof of the house. So I didn't rip brace like is it meant to be? Because I'd obviously followed the instructions. And we never really use the oven. I normally use the barbecue. But I haven't replaced the gas in three day deal was here. So I'm worried that I have enough gas. And so yeah, Bree was like is it meant to be doing this? I said, Yeah, it's fine, just like we just need to leave it. Like if we Oh, and then I also said, we can't open the oven because it will ruin the whole thing. And we don't have a light on the oven. And so but she ended up working out that the pork was completely basically grilling on the oven element on this. And so we've got it off in time before the fire started, but the apartment filled with smoke. So I'll be having my pork in two hours. That's how long it's
20:47
Yeah, well, I've got about 15 to 20 minutes left with my pork and Amy and I'm there as you can see, I've had my eye on the whole time so sorry that you guys didn't know hammers on euro can we at least get someone a taste test there? Yeah, I've brought my work in because I cooked it this morning. This is my Christmas, Christmas lunch
21:14
Christmas lunch in a container I was rushing to get the the artwork done for the background so I didn't have time
21:22
but so I've hated it up in the mark five. I did have the crackling this morning. It was beautiful. It was very crunchy. Whatever correctly.
21:32
So now it's just
21:34
just a bit of poke. cried
21:37
this is this is what Christmas is all about. This is Christmas watching you mates eight and saying
21:44
like that. What do you think? Tell me about
21:46
Did you hate it? I know.
21:49
Yeah, hate it up in the microwave. That's I think that's what I try to do.
21:55
support, support. I'll see farmers everyone.
21:59
Support But as he promised, that's the library that we have to do.
22:05
We're gonna have to
22:09
George, I don't don't listen to what they say is 10 out of 10? Yeah, actually, I would, I would be interested to know if Australian Polk. How much did this cost? Because we were under the task of getting $800 worth of food. I reckon we'd be close. Already. That's about 500
22:23
because what the snags with is, yeah, there's a lot of bring
22:27
snacks. It looks great.
22:28
Yeah, I'm very generous. Andrew, his choice. The Butcher. Very, very generous. Thank you. Thank you, Andrew.
22:34
Have you ever seen the lightest soda shades as well? JB I've got some blitzball. So
22:43
George, I'm just on that video. I was gonna ask you to count the amount of people in in there, which I thought was probably a bit too much work. But what do you reckon? How many clips how many episodes did you actually get into that? montage that you did? No idea.
22:58
I don't know. I
23:01
couldn't be tonight drinking you could stay back in
23:06
my project file is such a mess.
23:10
Not and I have any episodes of other fit few lots from back in the audio only days.
23:18
But it's a little like Barrow live america and i mean you guys watched it you know
23:23
what stands out to you like looking looking back or even thinking about outside of the video stuff What? What's been the highlight?
23:31
Ah well, I mean I guess the I mean, the first thing is like that video that video is so amazing because it's a reminder of everything that we've done. And so I think over the past couple of months, I've been caught up a lot in those little tasks and getting everything done. And so
23:48
yeah, I'm grateful babies over here, but
23:52
I know that's what you say. Exactly. Being able to take.
23:56
Exactly, exactly. Exactly.
24:00
Being able to take that step back. And just watch that video. Yeah, that was amazing. I mean, a highlight has to be gross. Well, yeah, that's pretty amazing. But yeah, not just just the personal development and the growth. I think that the time that you both put into everyone around you, I yeah, it's it's, it's crazy to think, I guess how much maturity I've gotten and how much I've learned about everything. It's not only like all the work stuff, but just being mates with everyone on the team. You actually yet develop I think, why more than you do. And it's sort of like what tiny tiny luxury was talking about, like with the with the radio team with Jason page, like, you're spending so much time with everyone in the team. And so, you're just developing these close knit friendships that you're just like, you're never going to develop anywhere else. So I think, yeah, the friendships and the people around you are probably the most amazing things that that's come from it.
24:59
I just had a A moment where it was like a flash to a scene where Mr. 97 when he first started working with us he's in the middle of Josh and I just having an absolute blow up. Yeah, and we just throw it to him. What do you think man?
25:18
It was definitely Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree with both
25:25
roof density
25:30
and so the I mean Christmas in December when it's actually Christmas. I wonder what that's gonna look like from an ISO perspective if we're all in Victoria were at harm. Have you guys had a thought around like, like, Christmas and New Year's is gonna like New Year's what's new year's gonna look like? Boring.
25:54
json Yo, the, you know, one party
25:57
town.
26:00
Out of all of us, what are you? What are you? What are you thinking?
26:04
I mean, it really depends on how many people we can have open together but are we going to spend Nisa? Oh, not Christmas but New Year's together?
26:12
Oh yeah, yeah.
26:15
That'd be fun. Yeah.
26:19
Um, yeah, because it could be maybe these just a gronk Christmas because I mean, I've got Yeah, we could have. I usually go to Sydney. And I think this is pencilled. Well penned every year. Every second year is Amy's every year every second. So we go we rotate between Sydney and Melbourne. So this year is Sydney. But I don't know what that looks like. I'm not sure if we'll be able to go it
26:45
might just be a year and family kind of Christmas this year.
26:49
Yeah, yeah, we could do a nice communion Christmas. Oh, yeah. That five Kate.
26:55
mean, that wasn't meant to be
26:58
offensive to anyone. I didn't know Just my parents
27:01
are out of the state
27:05
to someone else.
27:12
We need to work out who makes the best race because they're gonna be responsible for the actual Christmas first.
27:17
So put your hand up if you think that you did the best pork. Yeah, well, I mean, literally.
27:25
So JB,
27:26
they are very I'm, I'm not combines on this way.
27:30
Mine's on its way apparently.
27:31
So we put in the
27:34
barbecue. And Sam said you'd say it was outside. Touch it grace and Sam did it. And Sam said that he'll bring it down halfway through the episode or when it's done so.
27:47
I might try some. And we were talking about like Jess has been constantly talking about trimmings. It has everything. always been about trimming. Yeah, Jess, what have you got planned for trimmings?
28:01
I've got potatoes obviously roasted potatoes, pumpkin. I'm gonna do cheesy cauliflower with the the special sauce. And
28:13
it's like cheese, just like a cheesy sauce. You know what it is? They're eating like,
28:17
what do you leave? How do you make lasagna? Oh, yeah.
28:23
Yeah, watch. Yeah.
28:25
So have you actually got the grit? what it what are you gonna put in to make a better male sauce?
28:29
Well, you it's there's techniques involved right? So, but a flower and you make it into like this paste and then you start adding the milk and then once that kind of curdles and makes a nice paste again. You put cheese in well,
28:47
and you're gonna do that today.
28:49
Yeah, I'm gonna do it tonight. Once we get off here
28:54
the case making wrap up
28:57
really what's gotten her up?
29:02
I was waiting for Texas to
29:05
go in the gym a lot on cue. I've got my turn to that. Yeah. You just open your windows. I think it'd be nice. TJ isn't your eyes hurting with it? How close that light is to your eye? Yeah, it's like a pacing
29:22
gone. That's actually that feels a lot better. Good.
29:27
Jason. So JB, what is what's your trimmings look like? Yeah, no trimmings for me today. I've actually
29:34
all of eight and today's pork which
29:37
I don't like I had
29:38
one of the fork.
