It's the daily Talk Show Episode 706 what's happening guys? We've got Shannon in Queensland we've got you boys. You're still in Port Melbourne surely we're
0:20
driving through South Bank.
0:24
Yeah, we're not far off from my son's daycare. I'm just gonna go Can you drop the key drop the merge off to Robert or you don't have it in the car because Robertson? That's fine. I mean, Shannon, you excited about Georgia boys Hump Day?
0:42
I mean, Wednesday is my second favourite day off Friday.
0:51
How's stuff going? what's what's so what does it take to be a polities instructor?
0:57
Um, gosh, I don't know. to revise a script pretty well, I mean, we're doing we're doing around 150 exercises just this week and you have to teach every single one of them and then also be taught every single exercise by a couple of different people as well. So
1:17
yeah, it's a lot of repetition. But
1:21
yeah, it should be good eventually.
1:24
Yeah, if you got a favourite polities moves.
1:28
I'm a reformer girl. So I really like I don't I don't particularly like not work. I would prefer to be on the reforma. So anything on the reforma? I really like apps on their phone
1:41
and maybe triceps and unify stuff.
1:47
And to take as well yeah,
1:49
TJ just say no, I've muted us but just wave if you want to talk, just talk go.
1:54
I was just gonna say this is what a dive would go like using your script. People would be thinking, well who are those other guys in the car?
2:03
And
2:06
so you haven't actually set out why Sam's and I are even
2:12
just doing the rounds because Shannon and I have a nice combo.
2:18
A great combo, but I think you're just missing it.
2:22
I don't know. I think maybe because you're in the car you think it's all about you but Shannon and I are having a great time. Do you have a reformer Shannon do you actually have one.
2:32
So I went to buy one at the start of sort of between the start of the year and like the end of summer and all the performance in Australia a test that disk on to students was shot down and, and the period just before James was shot down where Corona was sort of starting to affect borders and things like that. That is Completely got snapped up. So that's pretty annoying, but I actually found a website that has heard us from getting a website recently that has like a full detailed list and plan and actual plans to build your own reforma. So, obviously you have to be pretty handy on the tools but my partner's going to give it a go for me. So I'm currently ordering all the parts for it, and he's gonna be with me one, so that's great. Yeah,
3:31
yeah, I mean, now, TJ,
3:35
before we get to that, have you ever done polities?
3:38
I know I've never used a reformer bed.
3:43
But I've done exercises that are probably from polities but not bloody specific, is asking Shannon I need something for my lower back. I need help. And it makes
3:55
no progress prescribing. It's actually really funny because by on I have been lifting weights for like exclusively lifting weights for a couple of years now. I used to enjoy running race to get just really sore hips and must have been terrible technique. And so I turned to weightlifting to really strengthen all my leg muscles and things like that. And I thought jumping on a reformer 18 months ago for the first time I thought I sort of thought you know, I can throw around pretty heavy weight. And I'm pretty good at weightlifting. I jumped on a reformer about a year and a half ago and I saw where it is just it's something else I don't like it's hard to comprehend how I can you know, deadlift 100 kilos say and then struggle so much on, you know, on a specific resistance on a reformer. It's just, it really targets like really deep and detailed muscles in your body that you just, you just wouldn't use any other time. It's crazy.
4:58
I really if I was to do that. I feel like a reformer takes up a lot of space in a house. I feel like you got to really
5:04
be committed.
5:06
Yeah, yeah.
5:08
Going machine once Josh Yeah. Josh? Yeah.
5:18
Yeah.
5:19
Where are you gonna drive to? I
5:22
went to the wrong one.
5:24
there so the annoying thing is Yeah, I mean, I'm definitely not that guy to go to the wrong one to be clear. I've got everything dialled in, but I am
5:32
we we went to the wrong computer store.
5:35
Yeah, it's the annoying thing about Google Maps, is you type in the thing. There's two things and you go to one thing, it's not the thing. But the annoying thing is I waited 10 minutes to get a POC at the wrong one. So that's why I was even more light because waiting for God to move. And so anyway, take a giant step serves what's what's the lightest How did you go?
5:59
What's up We went down to the DHL depot and, and yeah, so we, we got in and we had all our parcels and we had to scan them in into their system one by one. So we had we had to put on all the labels and everything was through there. And it was it was sort of good because I had a had a room that was your only that one person in the room.
6:27
This is exciting. Shannon's got the de Chao demo,
6:31
I can confirm
6:33
the SMS and the emails are going out to the details provided.
6:38
I tell you what the service
6:41
never had when
6:45
they were packing everything.
6:49
It was It was great. It was very good.
6:54
Really, I was caught off. I didn't know. Yeah. Did you say yes to the Snickers?
7:00
Yeah, yeah, we said yes, yeah.
7:01
When you told me that I couldn't come in What did my face what was my face like?
7:10
You? I can't even describe the emotion because
7:16
well, I said so. So I can't do anything then. And you just walked out. Well, I couldn't wait. I gave you the cards because I'd written all the cards for everyone and then I was like, I was just trying to reconcile everything that happened. I was like, I think being rude or nice right now. I couldn't tell you happy you're sad or I couldn't read the room. I was like waves Tommy and I looked over and Tommy sitting on the couch and it was very confusing.
7:43
And I mean, that's, that's that's the best service I've ever gotten for like that.
7:49
Really? So they were nice. They mentioned me Did they say what's wrong with you made
7:55
did have a bit of a bit of banter about you going to the wrong facility. They loved
8:01
really did they say that it happens
8:04
to happen a lot
8:08
in office Yeah.
8:08
Good.
8:14
All right anyway. If TJ spewing that we didn't get to his date DHL story quick enough George must be absolutely fuming that the reformat and DHL has taken over what is normally he's episode.
8:35
It's been great. I've been loving it. And you can Yeah. Put off the put off the hump day replay a bit longer.
8:42
I think we'll do it. Now. The people have the comments. Do you want to see today's Hump Day? replay? Casey says can you turn up sibs audio, please, JJ? No, seriously? Just gonna have to talk louder.
8:55
Okay. I could
8:56
just I could probably bring up your
8:58
nice okay. I can Talk louder. It's so good. are you covering
9:01
the mic by any chance?
9:03
No, no.
9:04
Okay. It just doesn't talk as loud as me.
9:07
Yeah. Okay. Everyone wants it real Enkidu says says Of course. Gimme gimme, gimme, says Jim grey says yes.
Oliver says saves his demo cute, which is nice. And anyway, on that note hyped up, you're hyped up. Any any sort of final words, George before we play them? Yeah.
9:30
Well, I need to do my Prosecco thing. Okay, so I'll do that. It's actually Okay, so today, I'll be drinking the same as last week. zonin familia Prosecco. I got a three pack today for 10 bucks.
9:45
Well, that's good. That gives you a few. what's what's just happened here. Hang on. How have you guys
9:49
swapped just outside?
9:52
Yeah. Okay.
9:54
Okay. Sorry, Joe. That's okay. So I can have the other two on Friday night.
10:01
And it sounded like
10:04
Tommy and mice were trying to get sponsorship from DHL because they were just saying how good their service was. I've done four episodes of my show now, and I've got an ad. So keep your eyes peeled. I've got a sponsor.
10:19
Okay, here we go. This is the hump day replay. By George, here we go.
10:32
This week we celebrated 700 Episode Episode
10:36
700.
10:38
And never do that kind of an intro again.
10:40
The week started with a classic prank on Mr. 97.
10:52
Just burnt nice and
10:55
heavy having an influence on the show.
10:57
Grace, we just had to get the
10:59
product Latest purchase under $100. That's giving you the most value. Yeah,
11:04
the past paper. It's, it's amazing. I don't know why I haven't had got one before. To get
11:10
Stobo faster. You can definitely pass the machine, a couple of eggs, a bit of flour a few hours. And don't forget that love. You've got yourself a delicious homemade pasta bellissima. It's so versatile
11:21
and lightweight. I can even company in my bag and take it to my friend's house. It's just so quick and easy to use just a few hours out of my night for tasting midweek meal spaghetti bolognese Caballero fettuccine. It's also easy with the Napoli pasta maker.
11:37
Definitely, with the 700th Episode chemic huge announcement
11:40
put it in your calendars 7am on Friday, we will be starting our 24 hour stream by the motion graphics
11:56
a reply every week.
11:57
A bit of an issue with a nice
12:00
To be honest, George,
12:02
at least 24 hours of non stop, maybe we could do 24 hour shows 24 hours every four hours total and awake within that 24 hour period. Lots of drunks that came to get involved, including Ryan Jones. He is the life that I live across the street from on Friday. I'm going to be doing 12 laps equals a marathon, which means out of the daily talk show host and the gronk squad. I will be the superior walk out of the group every time
12:30
I sit out to do a million steps in a month. Yes, absolutely.
12:34
All right, well,
12:38
obviously Ryan,
12:40
I can test that you are the better Walker but if it's a bit of gear and you want to play into I'm happy to do a bit of gear for you. 24 hour stream is gonna need a full squad effort.
12:49
Casey had the great idea
12:50
of selling merge and scooted Derek has been instrumental in getting that rolling. Derek says get me graphics by tonight we decided on a T shirt. And a crewneck jumper. Just so you know, we hadn't discussed any of that before that show. Yes. And since we've sold a shitload of marriage, our web designer copped
13:11
it to pro said you need to apologise to blog and the update is that there will be completed by tomorrow morning. We'll be looking at
13:20
the DOM. Dom, the dom dom,
13:23
it's been a milestone week for the daily talk show. We want to thank all the guests who've been a part of it. As always, we love having Gemma watts on the show.
13:30
We've got it out first drunk couple has happened through the show. And that's a beautiful thing.
13:35
Mr. 97 better half price. He definitely provided some level of chocolate. I think
13:40
I would do that.
13:41
I guess it's just things right. We were inspired by Phoebe Simmons. We always speak about
13:48
being a community and a place where women can feel lifted up. It's important to me that my team also to do the diet really supported in everything that I
13:57
do, and it was awesome to catch up with new mom An old friend, Stacy j can just put on a song and we danced in the lounge room. And I get teary thinking about it. Because that's my life. That's the moments. That's what I wanted. That's the things that are incredible. And also a massive thanks to all the groups that got involved this week with suggestions for the 24 hour show. Brian Johnson coming up with a challenge and scooted Derek Dionne and while you sleep organising old
14:25
get drunk. Yeah,
14:27
that's it for me. I've been dodgy George. Good night Australia. Love me.
14:36
He's done it again.
14:43
The past a major ad. I mean, if you're listening to the audio, you've got to go see that? What is what is Hannah and Chloe think when you say when you you know, ask them to do this shit. They'll straightaway like
14:57
Yeah, let's do it. That didn't really Get it.
15:02
Now they didn't question
15:03
you have to explain the idea. I'm happy about that.
15:06
Yeah, kinda. Yeah, I did. I said, uh, you know, Grace loves hip hop stomach, which is another reason why Hannah loves Christ. Because she loves that pasta mica as well. Oh, really? Do you actually use it Jordan? Well, not really.
15:25
What do you use more of the pie maker or the pasta maker?
15:29
Yeah, he's probably the pie maker. More actually. I went I actually went to get flour to make pasta the other day. I was gonna film and stuff. And there's no flour in coals at all. Like everyone like not even a single type of flour. I think that's like the names because it
15:45
is a baking.
15:48
baking bread. You mentioned that early in the way Josh and also Shannon probably used up most of it yesterday on that cake she was making.
15:54
It was an impressive you. How did you learn to make cake Shannon? Like how do you because it's Pretty Pretty much
16:02
yeah, it was a originally it was just a like a creative thing just a
16:09
bit of a stress reliever really I love to bake and I like to go to the gym and to counteract each other quite well which is nice. Quite a creative person so and I also like seeing an end result I'm very driven by like a visual something that I can sort of have in front of me. So you know I like the process from start to finish now at the having the creative control over things like that I only do it for friends and family. I've had a few people ask me they can like pay for me to make cakes and things like that but it's a purely from a sort of love for the love for the craft.
16:55
Thank you thing that
16:57
I just really enjoy doing.
16:59
So good. Oh Friends and family
17:07
probably couldn't make something up here in Queensland and send it down but what
17:16
is it gonna be?
17:18
What do you think he could do?
17:24
Well, we we saw them they open every single parcel they have to go through every single parcel, but the guy had someone there and he was like cutting open like a facemask box to look inside to see what was in there. Like they've already made friends like if you added any of them on Instagram or anything TJ Oh no, we're catching up next week.
17:48
But a good banter what so what is the banter like you'll be making fun of me sound like
17:52
he was drugs in the united in the package is Banta? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
18:00
Well, I told him that I cuz I said he said Oh, it doesn't doesn't always poster this. I said yeah, I say my drugstores post
18:09
and he loved
18:13
it was good. It was great. He was a
18:19
part of the hump day replay with all the merge stuff was awesome. The passive gear was good, but
18:26
really cool. It was really good to see you guys hustle and get it done. Oh,
18:33
it's done. The hustle.
18:35
Yeah, go on. Yeah, you've also been hustling. Can you run us through your cocktail menu for Friday night? Yeah, you worked on?
18:43
Yeah, of course. So we've got the 3d Productions. So I thought I'd do like a vodka based one and tequila based one and then like you're stressing about it. So again, you vodka in there and then Also follow up but so we've got the first one is the cut through cosmopolitan. Thanks 97 for the help on naming That one goes by Dr. Fame, but they saw this particular podcast and for the marathon this Friday, so we've got cut through cosmopolitan, the 24 hour marathon moderator that seemed to kill a moderator. And then would that
19:28
be I see, just sort of do I need to crush eyes for that one, Shannon?
19:32
I mean, it's it's optional. You can always make like a slushy style Margarita, but the classic one No, the classic one. You'll have ice cubes in your tumbler to cool it down before you serve it.
19:48
Saves the night that you said I could date grace. We were at a Mexican restaurant and we had Margarita
19:58
What did I say? What did I say?
20:02
I was following
20:05
by grace, but he
20:09
said I could digress as in he could that grace. Oh. Did you understand Sims?
20:20
No, I got it. But it does sound a little funny but I was with you.
20:27
And so anyway, we read Marga Raiders, but we were slightly upset because they didn't they they didn't have sort of the slushy content we were expecting a slushy consistency. And so I feel like it would be nice to be able to try and get a little bit of slush. And so maybe I need to
20:43
get lately Yeah. And so.
20:47
Have you got like a ninja bullet or a Vitamix or a blender of some description at home?
20:54
Yeah, yeah, I've got a what's the thing called that? I have
21:01
Use your bullet perfect. That's fine. Yeah. Oh, damn with the extra details for making your little icy slushy. And then the last one was exclusive from the banner espresso martinis.
21:14
Oh, sorry, hang on I can I can do the pen tell us about the espresso martinis.
21:21
Some of these regular martinis, your classic vodka cola espresso shot and then garnish with I got on with the coffee days like you would get in a bar or pub but you don't have to do that. I have an espresso machine so I do just little espresso shots in that you definitely don't need to have cafe coffee but if you do happen to go get a coffee on Friday morning. Definitely grab just to and you wanted to make the espresso martinis grabbed extra espresso or takeaway and poked in the fridge and Really? Oh, that's
22:03
I love that I yeah,
22:04
I do that oh, do I?
22:09
What do I know you want a single espresso shot depending on how many you want. So if you want just one espresso Martini, just get one single espresso shot, if you were gonna have to get a double, and then Harvard when you go to make your first
22:21
one.
22:22
So we need to be slightly careful because after the Friday night drinks, we're going to have to still do a bunch of content.
22:33
I don't expect you to have all of them you can just choose one and literally just like one cocktail if you wanted to get involved. So Gemma
22:40
was I think, ah, yeah, I think that's a good idea. But Jim said, Hey, well, Jim actually said how you've got to just saying you know, you won't be able to get all the booze at once. So Jamberry will have to go and separate trips to Dan Murphy's. She's already worked out the loophole so I can get all the booze at my place.
23:02
Quick question is Cointreau is that a triple?
23:08
Yeah On the contrary is like a premium contrast of premium triple set. Yeah.
23:14
So you can get higher
23:17
Yeah, no, you can get cheap ones in cheek this triple sec. I think you can get for like 15 or 20 bucks like Yeah, super affordable. You can get like remember the ball you can be okay. Sort of. Yeah look cute, and they're all pretty cheap and they do a triple sec of that one. I know at least it Dan Murphy's later. Okay.
23:45
Perfect. I can't decide. I saw a service for the first time in a while in real life. TJ Do you think he's looking older?
23:54
Well, he's confidence is there
23:58
it's completely changed.
24:01
He's older than I thought he was. He's been he's been
24:04
honestly had the same thought as well, Josh. Yeah. What did you think? Was it? Exactly the same? Like it? Seemed like, yeah, you're older and you're like,
24:14
because it is it the facial hair because I haven't
24:16
I haven't shaved in like a pep in his step. I don't know I appreciate that you wore tracksuit pants to the office
24:25
Yeah, I put James on.
24:27
He hasn't been out much have you? He said to me he's like God. He was like pointing out like people interacting like he I feel like you you haven't seen the real world he's come out he went went into isolation. Charles come out of
24:44
crisis trolling you about you're in quotation marks facial. We can't see it on the I guess we have to where is it? We Yeah.
25:00
You've got to Le male Tick Tock vibe. A little bit of you know those ones that
25:14
Nick Talon says saves calls that facial hair which doesn't say a bad thing about anyone but that sounds like it sounds like a slight troll. bit up yeah maybe a little bit yeah just a bit of bravado as well you know, just sort of walking around the office like
25:35
everybody needs
25:37
to see that little bit of attitude lately. So yeah, be stepping into
25:43
notice the attitude, Shannon. Yeah. What's the what's the attitude?
25:56
I know we're all shocked. He won't like it.
26:00
We're shocked shocked amused and delighted delighted breed onyx seven.
26:10
Josh when did when was the first episode that Mr. 97 was on? Three bed? wetters Was that it? Yeah.
26:17
Yeah. Was it really then? It was definitely. So the first you'll have to look it up. Because we nearly called you Mayo because that used to be unique. Mayo 23 or whatever.
26:30
God he would he actually wouldn't be with grace right now.
26:35
I think that a GPS with a Mayo 23. George, what was your Hotmail growing up? Did you have a hotmail?
26:46
Yeah, still got it for my Facebook. Chicken underscore drumsticks. eight@hotmail.com
26:54
Yes.
26:56
Shannon what was yours? I feel like
26:58
this is the funny thing, Shannon still rocking. I mean Queensland not to not to slam Queensland but you guys still use hotmail in Queens. Yeah.
27:09
To be fair, I thought about that when you quickly called me this afternoon about being on the show. Yeah, just just send it send the link through to the email and then I thought
27:23
pushback.
27:27
No, no, I just feel like it would be a little bit classier
27:36
for a business and like any business sort of stuff that we do for my partner's engineering consultancy firm but
27:47
more casual stuff. Yeah.
27:52
Very, very basic Ah, ha hotmail address when I was growing up, and this actually reminded me the other day when you were talking About should you buy bowtie jacket calm, not that my mom bought me a car. My mom when I was I'm trying to think maybe 10 or 11 or whenever it is you sort of need to start having an email account for subscriptions or whatever. She actually just got me Shannon tony@hotmail.com. And I was like, that's so basic like all my friends. Now, thank god
28:22
we're not just Medicare index funds, but you can hop mail and it's
28:28
really handy.
28:32
Log into it now it's outlook. It's Microsoft. And I had my Hotmail account connected to my Skype, and I had to I had the wrong backup number. It was a nightmare to get back into it. But I always wanted to know who has I am at symbol hotmail I am a hotmail that was Yeah, can you eat can Can you just email them right now say, Who are you this? Yeah.
29:06
It would go to spam at a company email address, so you
29:10
know, I'm sure you'll fuck it up with some sort of autoresponder that will bring down the whole G Suite. But Shannon on the dennistoun. I mean, the hotmail stuff has the nostalgia vibe. I this morning I was watching all the old Tony Hawk Pro skateboarders as I was getting all the DHL stuff ready? What were the games? What were you playing? When you were younger?
29:35
I was definitely a kid. Like PC Sims. Yeah, I was a like a Nintendo 64 kid. So like your Donkey Kong, new curtains. That sort of, yeah, that sort of stuff. Oh, and then then you know you you sort of handheld switches or You know, whatever they used to be back in the day to those trying to think Yeah, Donkey Kong were like
30:10
where are all these games everyone's talking about?
30:13
Does it grow?
30:16
Have you watched them king of Kong? The the documentary of the guys that have it out for Donkey Kong? It's a great doctor. It's got everything. I don't think it's on Netflix.
30:30
It's people who can clock the game, isn't it? They?
30:33
Yeah. It was back in the day where it was like, you'd go to the arcade machines. And so there's like, guys in there, you know, late 30s or whatever. It's getting late loses unless this. Yeah. There's so many. I mean, there's so many examples of that right where it's like you're a loser until a doctor comes out about you.
30:55
Yeah, the murder wasn't worth it until you got it.
31:00
I have all the targeting stuff like that would have it without a doc. Oh, no, I don't know if it would have been as big a thing. But I mean, Shannon,
31:12
around Steve Jobs, sorry to interrupt you as much rah rah or Steve Jobs as you know, pre pre movie like,
31:22
yeah, I mean.
31:26
Yeah, I mean, I don't even remember the Steve Jobs movie. I mean, I think that it was it was when he died. It was a big deal. Like, it was always the I'd wake up in the morning like at 3am and watch the keynotes and stuff. Like that was a big
31:45
Yeah. Yeah, there's been less stuff about Tim Cook. I reckon. Everybody knows that name.
31:51
Yeah. Well, Donald Trump called him Tim Apple accidentally. Press Conference, a good troll. It's an accent. And I think I don't think he even meant it. But Shannon to outsource George's very bit George How you feeling by the way because you've got a lot of work in the next week and a half
32:09
Yeah, feeling pretty under the pump that um yeah, it's up right.
32:16
And so can we outsource some work Shannon What do you think are some highlights in that because you've been you were what's happing me When was the first time you started listening to the show? Do you remember
32:30
that because I first started listening when Stacey was first on the show because I was a very big Stacey June Christmas. I think a girl's fan back in the day. So and I went back to actually find the date and it was August 2018. When she was supposed on with you guys. I think it was Episode 153. Josh, you like must have heard I went back and listened to that exact episode as well. Before Stace came on yesterday, you must have had lucky sounded so See, either? Or. Really, really young? Yeah, go back and listen you almost if I hadn't just heard that with no context, I wouldn't have even thought it was you.
33:11
Were just watching. You're watching the evolution that was boys becoming men. When are you gonna become a man George?
33:19
And I never. I was thinking maybe that that could have been the time when you were recording like, seven shows a day or whatever before you went overseas.
33:27
I reckon.
33:29
I was remote. I reckon I lost my
33:33
remote and Stacy was in the studio with Tommy.
33:36
Yeah, I think that it could have been the week that I was in Krakow, in Poland. That's when I got really sick to remember that. Yeah, my voice was funny. It was a nightmare. And then I
33:51
voice when in New York, it was, yeah, payback. Yeah, that was laughing so hard at your voice,
33:56
but so Shannon, to give George a bit of slacking he might even be able to edit this into save some time for him to what have been some of your highlights from the daily talk show.
34:09
Since I've been listening,
34:10
yes.
34:14
is a long time and
34:16
I understand it's sort of saying what's what's your favourite thing about me? Good go with it.
34:23
Okay with that
34:27
I'm gonna say that
34:33
who was definitely all of these episodes just because I just, I just love everything that she puts out and I've just learned so much from her. I really enjoyed like recent recent times. I really enjoyed Shane Jacobson. I've never blocked the me but I had never ever seen Kenny. I don't know for whatever reason I went back and watched it up an episode. I know how on Australia. Oh my goodness. I went back and watched it after that. I was in tears I was just like oh my god this is this is the best how Has anybody let me live to 29 years old and I've never seen any
35:08
I can't remember what were you crying about what was the actual the tip what was the
35:15
no no not just more
35:20
just an overall after having listened to the episode earlier during the day I was like this moon is an absolute national treasure like
35:30
he's crying
35:31
I really enjoy the perspective into the media industry and when you guys do go deep and talk about radio so you Craig Bruce's you know those sorts of episodes where it's like a little peek behind the curtain and we kind of get to see what you guys worked through and you know, just how just how it all works and it's it's really interesting just for general content to sort of yeah He's here here at home station. I mean, the podcast rancour was an absolute highlight. I mean, just thank you. Really? Yeah.
36:14
This is why we love you.
36:17
Yeah, the the rank is a bit of a Yeah. It's a bit of a joke at the moment. But the, I mean, you're a fan of ash Williams, what do you think about in the bin?
36:33
I mean, I used to
36:37
walk into a degree because I was like this guy's crap.
36:43
And you know what? I stopped listening to his podcast just because sometimes I'm like, Well, I feel dumber for having listened to me.
36:55
Stupid, but I do have to admit I do. enjoy listening to From time to time we're in just tears shreds off in like, just excellent entirety. Oh they're so funny when
37:10
we get back going. I really enjoy that but
37:19
no get down should bloke but
37:24
slightly
37:27
too good for you guys.
37:30
Like people that like me and say ash if you want to like me Yeah,
37:38
unconditional friendship. Oh there is one condition. Yeah.
37:42
Yeah, I think that's fair. No.
37:47
Did you think about the cutting off thing we talked about this morning we talked about cutting friends just cutting people out What do you think?
37:54
I can swing both ways I can be so brutal and just say to somebody That was absolutely rubbish what you did and now we're not friends get out of my life and my body. Or I can also go to people and just fade them out. If it's not as a severe sort of situation if it's just a distant, like, you know, sort of people growing apart and that's okay. I think that's fine. I think I'm pretty cliche, but the whole reason season lifetime, some people are there for a short amount of time, some people there for a little bit longer than other people in your life forever. And I really try and adopt that where I can in my life because I just started talking. That's the thing that I realised as I get older, I mean, I'm only 29 but I'm like, I don't have time for like time wasters. Like I just need to be serious about the people that are in my life, because life's too short. And we all know that and it's like, I just want to be surrounded by people that love me and support me and want the best for me And if that's not you, then But that's it like either fade away or you know if something goes down you just have the tough conversation and hit the nail on the head so everybody knows where they stand and like that's it
39:15
if you got a response from ash within g code
39:21
not Did you even message says I feel like you would have pussied out?
39:25
No, no, I did message. Oh,
39:29
he didn't. He didn't reply to my previous text saw. Yeah, so it's um, it wasn't looking.
39:36
Yeah, yeah, I like
39:38
going to ignore the first one and then you never have to get right back to another one because they exist. Now I remember my mom saying because a guy named Robert called my house once and we had caller ID I love to call. Did you Shannon when you were a kid? Did you have caller ID? Really, it's so good. So when we got caller ID I remember Robert called me. It was weird because when I answered it, it was locklin's number phone number. Anyway. Oh my god. Hey, Robert. It's like, Oh, hey, hey, game like, Yeah, good. What are you up to? He's like on not much. He's like, what do you think of Laughlin?
40:20
Was I hang on?
40:22
I know what's going on here. lockland on the other line, and he's trying to get and so I hung up. And I told him what happened. And then they call back. That was a big mistake, they call back. And mom picked up. And she says, she said, if you want to be his friend, be his friend. Otherwise stop calling. And so I feel like that's a bit of a nice sort of story. Why freely?
40:52
Why would they try to catch you out? I hadn't thought about it in this way. Why do they think you're gonna rag on Laughlin?
40:59
Well, because Laughlin I had a love hate relationship. He's the one who tried to make me fat by feeding me soft drink while he was drinking water at his house. I was chubby and he lost a bunch of
41:11
boys where they feed. Yeah, paddy fields Virginia George say, protein bars the pedelec
41:19
not definitely.
41:23
Friend, Josh Janssen and Tommy jacket relationship.
41:32
And my son was in on that.
41:34
It was good. If it's good content, it's fine. Yeah, a
41:39
lot. Yeah, he might have been recording it might might have been. I went back in the day used to be able to record on the old Nikes you could record conversations like now. You need another rap. But back in the day used to beep every 30 seconds. Yeah, I think there's like a way that they were you know, got around by people knowing And I was on this conversation with this guy, and it's pretty heated. And, and he just said halfway through is
42:07
what the fuck he sent me.
42:10
He was so angry. I don't hear it. But I got exactly what I wanted.
42:15
Well, I had an issue before where I said to Siri, hey Colin, I was trying to organise Jase Hawkins through the 24 hour stream. And so I told Siri Hey, Colin, and the thing is, though, you can't you can't hang out without touching your phone that you can't tell Siri to turn it, turn it off. And so I was driving, it went to voicemail. And then a cup was next to me. And so I'm like, hey, mate, I can't actually touch my phone right now. It's JJ. But you can hang up. I'll finish this when I can. But Hope you have a bad day and it probably went for about two minutes.
42:54
That's right.
42:56
Anyway, I'm gonna go into I'm at the front of my son's daycare. I've got to run in and get the little
43:01
guy. All right.
43:03
Any any final words? Anyone? George, what's any? Any? Any thoughts in your in your head?
43:10
No, not really. Um, thanks for those ideas. Yeah,
43:17
tomorrow is gonna be the day I'm gonna be putting together the weekend shows.
43:21
I'll send some old furniture I was actually going through going through my Instagram highlights recently to look at some old baking stuff that I had, and had done and I actually found maybe a year ago, I did a full day of just screenshotting the podcasts that I usually listen to and putting them on my Insta stories just since I always get heaps of friends asking me Who Who do I listen to throughout the day and I'll have to send you a DM Josh of what I wrote about you guys, I can't even remember I think it was just like, just two random guys talking absolutely smashed.
44:00
Fantastic. Like a year ago.
44:03
You always had Tommy's back. You're always getting the DMZ but you thought I was being mean to Tommy. Do you remember that?
44:10
Sometimes you need to know JJ sometimes you need to
44:15
go in on people.
44:19
Yeah, but yeah, so you
44:23
Yeah. Do you say have you ever seen
44:27
Have you pulled up TJ?
44:30
Um, no, because I'm
44:36
pretty self aware. Tommy, I think especially the last, especially the last year, I'm trying to think of times where
44:45
you don't think I'm self aware. I'm fucking self aware. I know.
44:50
I understand you are self aware to an extent, but I think it's a
44:59
reflection thing. Later on go back. Ah, yes might be, I think, very,
45:07
very good at amazing situations
45:15
we wouldn't have survived
45:17
good blow ups.
45:18
I wish we recorded my favourite blob up very quickly before you go was the one where we were having a yelling match at the front of a there was a garage door.
45:29
And we didn't realise that on the
45:30
other side of the garage door there was a whole office like a bunch of pit and so on, just banged on it and said move on. And it's very hard when you get told off by someone else. When you're mid argument that very quickly, you'll love this tj. Sarah has just said in the comments, Ash better call you or I'm cancelling my Patreon and said look, we don't want to be losing money. We don't want him to be losing money. That's definitely not the plan. But Sarah we've got a bank
45:59
I think this morning, Dr. k this morning said we should report ash to the IRS.
46:10
I'm sure the 80 or across him to be honest, I don't think.
46:14
Yeah. Yeah.
46:18
Yeah, I think you have to. Anyway, it's a daily talk show. I thank you, Shannon for coming on the show. We're looking forward to the cocktails. We're gonna get all around. And good job George on the hump day. Thank you, everyone. We'll see you tomorrow at 11am. is crystal Andrews on in the morning. So
46:45
crystals on
46:47
yesterday for me. Yes. I don't think there'll be a hump day next week. Just
46:55
you know, the shows are going to be different this week. Okay, now that's fine.
46:59
Yeah, it's fine. Hey,
47:03
what's gonna be George? Oh, let me awake. It's gonna be Jojo away from
47:08
Saturday to Sunday so
47:10
maybe we should do that so the following week we should do a hump day on you. Okay? But it sounds like too much work I'm already bought them if
47:21
you guys haven't gone Steli talk show
