It's a daily talk show and we're in Los Angeles we're at in and out which is right next to the airport. It is the final show of our La Tour and it's a ritual we did this last time last time it was Episode 200
0:18
that we so yeah, we were sitting where was that? Where is it?
0:24
Yeah, we went videoing at that point that
0:27
video camera ring, as Larrabee angle says at that point, so now we actually get the full experience so you get the full experience if you're watching on YouTube, you can see these ginormous jets. I mean, most people wouldn't think to do a podcast to based on the noise but we would like to find out
0:44
most favourite gronk and given it out lie trip of firsts. We we did the edibles first time 97 and I got drunk. Yeah the first time Why go waste the
0:59
other first So there thanks Kelly any Did you I mean you
1:03
probably tried 40 different foods for the first time yes first time we're going to i hope i mean you and I Josh have been here a few times now.
1:11
I've never I'd never done edibles before we can't really know why that it wasn't
1:20
I just cooked it night so anyway this in and out if you're in Los Angeles, you gotta come here it's right next to La XT perfect. Oh, you got the hat? You have to ask.
1:33
So the first day we got here we go given these hats and then I got a bit dirty I stood on the mice and stood on them I got let's put on
1:46
there we go.
1:49
So these are like shifts hats that the internet stuff where
1:52
they'll great.
1:54
Looks really good. Can you see internet can you turn it to the fight unit can you see in and out on the front of my house.
2:01
Am I good? Thanks for joining
2:05
us has a severe coffee stain. Yeah, no, that's fine. That's so annoying.
2:11
It's karma for stepping on the other one.
2:13
Sorry in and out. We actually went here on our first day in LA. I had the vegetarian option. Yeah, yeah.
2:20
You did, which was a salad sandwich is
2:25
a sad salad salad sandwich. I mean, Kroger pointed that out. Anyway, it has been a really good month, over a month of May. eating vegetarian
2:36
nights a solid effort you watch the documentary
2:39
game changes on
2:40
Was it the day after? Or was it
2:42
doing the day off? 97 is tearing the bag like an animal animal.
2:48
It's gone full animals.
2:50
So they said you know as proud to support local schools, charities that help strengthen the communities we serve. That's To be honest,
2:56
I've never read anything on the packages of internet Because I've just been ravenous
3:01
What time? What year? Was 1922? No. 1948
3:10
was born in 1948. Right? Yeah. Okay, so what I've done, and the reason you're talking about the vegetarian stuff is because
3:17
fast forward to the end of our trip, different vibe that you feeling
3:23
well, so the reason why I did it was mainly for health, but also just to try to try it to give it a go. We've got a bunch of friends that are vegetarian. And I just wanted to do it as a bit of a challenge.
3:36
But right now I'm handing you over. This is Andy, you're directed Yeah. So I'm going to be
3:43
let's see. So we were here. We've had 25 plus meals while where we've been here. I haven't had one piece of meat. You were saying? I think he should just keep going with this. I've decided my mom text messaging me saying, hey, mate, I love you. She doesn't. She doesn't ask how I am. Oh, she says is a mate. And so here we go. This is it's been, it's been a while. I hope I'm not triggering triggering any anyone. I understand what so what I've learned from this holiday. What have you learned? I've learned that I'm gonna eat less meat. I'm not gonna have meat with every single meal. Yeah,
4:24
maybe three times a week. Yeah.
4:29
Exactly. So now, here we go. This is cheese. Cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. Right. This is a double double from in and out.
4:38
What a way to go. What do I
4:47
have to put my mic down?
4:50
No, that's fine. I just had my burger upside down. I wanted to get the double double the front here. But it says I mean the thing about the branding of Chain like in an app? For some reason, it feels like its iconic. But what has made it iconic? Has the brand itself become iconic? Or is it the time of the brands on like the branding is that because you know, it's like started I want to make a dive bar. The dive bar has to be there for 30 years before it looks like it's a dive bar, or can you just design it to be a dive bar? What do you think?
5:30
Oh, put my phone
5:35
directly I'm going to shoot my parents on the fly
5:38
will be the opposite.
5:43
I mean, brand. Brand doesn't happen overnight.
5:49
Yeah, so I think take 67 years. takes a long time. What did you say?
5:53
61 years? Think? 19
5:57
I thought you'd finally revealed that you live Something from six months in the marketing course.
6:05
Is
6:06
is the you know this stuff about like, you need. I don't know how many of these you need six references or moments where someone interacts with your brand before it sticks before they memorised. Did you know any of these stats? Maybe we can remember this kind of stuff now? I don't remember any of that.
6:25
But it sounds familiar. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, no.
6:30
Or it's not. Or it's just one one time. What do you think 97 of internet does it live up to the hype? I'm
6:42
not probably not.
6:43
It doesn't know. I don't
6:50
know. I mean, everyone from Australia, like everyone's obsessed with it. Like you think it's just the best he that it's like the best thing in Well, but it's
7:02
I don't know, it's sort of like
7:04
Betty's Vegas
7:07
yeah Britney Spears better. Yeah, I enjoyed Betty Betty's bag is probably more than this but, but then what about brands like supreme? Is it really that great? Yeah. Worth lining up we saw supreme line on Fairfax in West Hollywood. That was like 200 metres and thick like you I was thinking you if you're in that line you are you have cash to spend Otherwise, why would you wait in the line? But this is supreme that great.
7:38
So we're live. Oh, hi. Yeah, it's so hot. So maybe. Is it okay to be Oh,
7:43
yes, I people are buying
7:47
the trip. We've had a bunch of guest chats. Do you have any standout moments through the trip?
7:55
I really loved meeting. Me, me and Alex icon. It's
8:06
just like that one pass.
8:08
No, but I love meeting them. The way a lot of these chats have come about is on the ground. And I mean hustling. It's it's, I don't think we call ourselves hustlers. But now we also do like to make sure it happens. So we have some Yeah, you want to Alex on and I thought that's awesome. And so you took care of the sort of DMZ stuff.
8:31
And so thing was initially I was like, I want to be great to have Alex and maybe on Alex is like our nickname is gonna be available. Anyway. We rock up to their where they're staying. Maybe Mei Mei opens a door and she looks very confused. We have all of our camera equipment,
8:48
always behind you and I saw her confused face. And then I saw used to come in and I couldn't see your hand reaching out to shake your hand. I thought you were trying to rush the door.
9:01
So I sugar, sugar and confused by steel style. Yeah. And Alex was on the phone. So he couldn't sort of explain to her what was going on. And then so we explained it. I know we're doing a podcast and she was nice enough to come on the show. Yeah, it was fun because I also love that all the people we might who, who live in LA, people like your primary school, best mountain race. But then you've also got the people who like tally, or even Alex MMA who don't live in LA and just so happens with caught them at the time. Brian Shelton the same thing.
9:37
Yeah, there's something special about connecting with people when you're all out of your habits and rituals and you know, you safe setting. Yeah, because it opens people up a bit more, I think. And so that's the beauty of doing a trip like this. Yeah, we're all open to experience and that's half of them have been love the chat, but it's just a part of the storey. We now have with them yeah and so from with Matt de Avella we did couple of episodes with him and but we also spent time with him and shot a video with him so it's
10:10
Yeah, it's been so so good. What's the first storey? You're going to tell your mom when you get home 97
10:16
edibles? Yeah, yeah. All right. Yeah right reckon that see the most interesting one? That was a big one.
10:26
Big one big one.
10:28
Edit edibles
10:31
then probably getting drunk,
10:34
geez a lot of around substance
10:40
and then probably just escapism.
10:43
And then probably just talking about all the people the awesome people that we had on. There's so much fun.
10:48
Yeah. Has it made you think about your next holiday when you travel? what's the what's missing 90 sevens Travel Guide. Now that you've, you know, travel hacks
11:01
Well, I mean the first one was I was stressing on the plane when we came over here because up my cologne didn't have the lid on it and it's one of those press down on the top of the bottles. I didn't even know you walk alone. Occasionally,
11:15
you know, I didn't really smell I
11:16
haven't nice nice nice. Nice nice not that strong.
11:19
So do you wear Yeah, little bit. What's the point of it if you can't smell it?
11:23
Tonight? Yeah, maybe if the a cause
11:26
carcinogenic like Wouldn't it be like
11:29
this one's This one's
11:30
all organic?
11:34
Yeah, no, but I mean, that was it. I thought it was going to Lake on the way here. So I mean, the first travel tip is to make sure it's got a little cap on it so it doesn't come
11:44
out and zip lock it in a bag. That's a good travel hack yet.
11:49
In terms of other things, I reckon.
11:53
Go Go hard or go
11:58
go hot on on the cuisine and all the
12:06
cultural stuff that's there. I think we were we were we were smashing a bunch of Whole Foods. And there's smoothies which are great and their dinners which are awesome. But I enjoyed I enjoyed all the Mexican
12:18
places that we went so you would have done more Mexican, potentially.
12:20
Yeah, I mean more. Not specifically Mexican, but
12:24
just all the different off that's gonna that's fine flying away. All the different.
12:29
Yeah, cuz cuz nothing. I mean,
12:31
you know, it was I mean, the US in the US, there is so many Mexican restaurants, and they're all amazing. And so it's definitely one of my favourite things about coming to specifically California. Yes, the Mexican food.
12:47
Yeah. Also, with spending this close time connecting with people who are doing great stuff is like it's more clear, even though I knew it was clean before that everyone's on their own journey. And everyone's success looks so different. And so you can take bits of what people are doing and say, I'd really love to have that in my life or I really like that's not for me. And so I'm as how you work out what's for you ride by seeing what other people are doing and thinking about how if you if that was your situation, would it work?
13:25
yourself? Zach sang is a great example. It's like, he just built this sort of life for himself in the studio. Yes. Like, it was such a interesting world that we're entering, which is sort of radio completely re thought, yeah. That was really cool. Behind us, is a promise that you made at the start. Yeah, you're confused. Well, I was.
13:49
I was thinking, you looking at applying.
13:54
I finished the Seth Godin book now.
13:56
Would you imagine? Well, the promise I made it was just something I really want. to do is ride one of the scooters, the electric scooters which are everywhere around Los Angeles. Yeah. And I wanted to ride it and specifically I wanted to ride it with you. Right and recreate Titanic Sade
14:14
so how do you want to do it? Do you want to have a ride first on your own and the AMA on the back
14:21
okay we were using bird
14:23
the bird on by
14:26
not a nice move I'm gonna show his arm but but there was there was one just around the corner that are ran off to grab his baby at me the whole time carrying it back.
14:35
So why why was it why
14:39
why was a baby mess
14:41
up because if that's the alarm system,
14:43
why was you didn't
14:45
pay for it? No, I picked it up and brought it over here.
14:49
Because it's not paying for it. Yeah.
14:53
Well, cuz I didn't want to pay
14:55
what so yeah, so you rather than just getting it and then having that rubbish smell Oh, Cuz you're getting
15:02
dragged, right? So not because because it last year you pay per minute. So every every minute we're sitting here. I don't want to pay.
15:11
No, I appreciate that. Alright, so. So we're using your app by the way, who's paying for this? Yeah. Sorry about.
15:20
It's on the INJ. So it's all good.
15:24
If we say the screwed is right there. Yeah. If you want to go up to it, yeah, I've just hit ride. So if you scan it with, it's got like it. It's got a QR on the handlebars. So just go up and scan it. And it should just enable if we this $10 credit me Kairos
15:42
All right, here we go, guys. Alright, so Tommy is just getting up right now. He's approached he's on the scooter. He's He's scanning the QR it's made a vape sound.
15:52
So So the way that you do it is you have to put pressure yet not put pressure on
15:58
the actual thing. And now All right. Theory guys. All right, he's wearing he's in and out and he's reversing right here we go. And there we go. He's off. He's off.
16:12
He's doing it. It doesn't have much speed not not much on the uphill it's got some serious downhill spade once you know I gotta get on that as well hang on standby. Oh my god.
16:25
Common tech 97
16:26
Okay. It Tommy's literally just going around in circles. Oh, here comes. So you gotta you gotta do the Titanic. So here's here's so Josh is so Josh is on the front, right and Tommy's controlling. I see you. Okay. Okay.
16:44
Josh is hopping on the scooter. Do you I use it.
16:48
He's, he may not have a helmet on but he does have an end.
16:51
enough protection hat
16:53
that will save most of his life. Or the patty that he just died. Yeah, right.
16:59
Okay. He's
17:02
right here. Yeah.
17:03
He says that he can't do this kind of stuff. he's a he's
17:07
a he's a natural he's a
17:09
real natural. Anyway so I wanted to recreate the same way. And this is the thing I need to be
17:16
careful son
17:20
are probably we will drive will drive
17:24
to do this.
17:25
So where are you going to do it? You're going to go by what
17:27
I'm going to do is I want to go from down here. I want to go out there and I want to come up the hill together. Okay, so we need to run up. So are you able to just commentate?
17:37
Yeah. Okay. All right.
17:43
We're about to hop on the student now. Tommy's I can. You just gonna walk after him, Josh. Tommy's just going down the concrete path. Josh is about to hop on the scooter. Tommy
18:03
All right, here we go. Josh is on the front. hands out Josh hands out.
18:09
Oh, here we go. This is cute.
18:13
There's not enough Jason. This is a nightmare.
18:18
This is an absolute nightmare. You're gonna have to do it on the concrete.
18:25
Yeah, yeah, we'll have to do a video afterwards. Oh, that was a nightmare. We nearly lost the chips as well.
18:31
Tommy nearly hit some kids. Yeah.
18:34
Yeah, hang on. I'm putting my headphones.
18:37
Okay, that was fun.
18:42
And now we'll leave it on its isn't it five minutes $5 for 30 minutes is wrong.
18:50
Sorry about that. Sometimes it doesn't all go to plan.
18:53
It was like I just needed more juice.
18:57
Do you think Can you imagine people using these in
19:02
Yeah definitely around St Kilda area like the beach instead of bikes yeah
19:06
definitely it's easy like you think about a buckets are annoying to park a big
19:12
bit clumsy. these are these are nice like I mean we wrote one at our at 500 and that's like these shorts that was great. It was very fun things go so far. And so I don't know I think they're they're becoming cooler than they once were like scooters I can't remember it's like that phase of razor scooters. That went really hard. And that way my rise but just scooter itself and now the ones with you put the metal
19:43
down and you have the stocks coming out the back.
19:45
No
19:47
scooters, they had brake on the end of the scooter and drag along the concrete and so you can Spock's out when you fall right
19:57
sorry, this is this is the end. It's been Great trip. I feel like if personal growth for everyone Yeah, I think, I think learning to collaborate learning to get used to the idea of listening to everyone and what sort of stuff?
20:20
Yeah, for, for some reason I was
20:25
I was thinking to myself, I was
20:31
thinking, I haven't even verbalise this, but I was like, I'm gonna go and see a psychologist. Yeah. Like I was thinking was speaking to quite a few people that have someone that they speak to about staff Ryan Shelton Reese Mitchell. And I'm sure most of the other people who spoke to the Americans, anyone who's in America, they have a good therapist. But I yeah, I for some reason, I feel like I that's, I think Cold to do it not cold that just know I'm supposed to do it
21:03
yeah
21:05
that's that's the pace of growth out of out of this for me
21:09
Yeah. Is it going to change anything in regards to daily habits that you're going to take on from you know the posture of being in the US and the lifestyle and then bring it will disrupt your current pattern and then you feel like anything is possible I could throw in this in the morning
21:27
Yeah, then I do have the understanding that it's
21:31
all the other stimulus pulls you back to way, way you found yourself before but it doesn't have to be like that, like a routine for a kid or you know, routine in the morning going to work. Yeah, I think for me, I really want to create the business in the world that I really love being a part of. And so, you know, the inspiring lifestyle that a bunch of people Matt de Villa know, me, me and Alex Just Just to name a few of them, they living life on their terms, but never really worked out what life on their terms looks like. Yeah,
22:09
it's like fully designing their lifestyle. Yeah, but also adding a lot to the world and having a purpose.
22:16
Exactly. So it's not just a thing.
22:18
It's all about sitting on a beach.
22:20
Not doing the stuff that you love every day.
22:24
And,
22:25
and so yeah, I don't know what that looks like, specifically. But I definitely want to spend some time thinking about that writing stuff out.
22:34
Now when we get on the flight. What's everyone's strategy going to be going to watch movies, you're going to listen to something going to go to sleep?
22:42
Yeah, I'm going to stay up for a little bit, have dinner, watch, watch the movies and then just try and sleep the rest of the way. Because we arrived quite early. Yeah,
22:52
yeah. Early one. One thing with Travelling is you end up with all this admin. Everyone's got their passports.
22:58
Yep. Okay, good. The cast has gone missing.
23:02
Yeah, that's how I do I'm not going. But one of the bits of admin that can come with Travelling is souvenirs. I got a few I've never been a souvenir guy. Well I just got edible
23:15
to have those we're gonna throw those out we need to do something with him. I'm sure we can give him to someone maybe TSI or something that would love them.
23:23
So I got
23:25
I bought these on the work card and the rest of that personal but these are for you, which
23:31
are great. Thanks, guys for you. I appreciate that. I just got a bunch of stuff. These are Justin's dark chocolate
23:36
I just got a bunch of stuff from my wife it's not what she wanted but I couldn't find the stuff why wouldn't you want you wanted cookies and cream kisses I'm sure we can find them at to stop to stores CVS and then a supermarket and we haven't been to supermarkets other than Whole Foods here. And this supermarket had absolutely every didn't have the flavours that
23:56
she wanted to do. So we still got a rental car and it's Nearly four o'clock
24:02
at the petrol station Oh yeah.
24:05
Hershey's gold kisses be like white chocolate milk style. I am naughty, very naughty. Well one thing that we do have is Belinda gronk. Belinda says to bring back a souvenir a souvenir. Yeah, yeah. And so what are the classic souvenirs what could we potentially bring back and it says wearing it that the coffee stains in and out. Yeah, or your T shirt. What what could we, I guess we can go to a service station we can go to La AX, maybe a fridge magnet.
24:40
It's the last minute thing you do with LIX
24:44
I mean, Bray doesn't even allow magnets on the fridge. But maybe we could. Maybe we need to get bulk souvenirs. So that if we see gronk in the next few weeks, if they come up to us, if we say them, we can give them a so Yeah, I UK rings.
25:03
Well I think if we go to one of the big stores
25:05
just get out. What do you feel? Because you were talking about? We said I'll let some let's get a bunch of snacks and bring them back. What do you think about like Lacroix in check bags? I just have it doesn't blow up that's what I was wondering. Get a whole because we've got enough room to bring a whole bag of something. Could we just get fucking boxes of Lacroix
25:30
you could probably nothing would probably happen I mean they've got they've got
25:36
cans of drinking the plane but then it's cabin pressure like pressurise so maybe the underneath area I know the underneath area has to be
25:45
different section tissues section.
25:47
Yeah, well what before when we're at the airport, on the way here we saw all these dogs
25:52
getting pulled onto the plane has fallen. It's getting very chilly.
26:02
Thank you to everyone for following along for encouraging us for all your storeys thank you to all the guests that we've had
26:14
tried to make happen, make happen again. I think that's the thing that
26:17
what people don't realise is the gronk have to do a lot of admin and logistics to try and fill our time with with a mouse. You know,
26:29
it's all that stuff.
26:30
I just noticed it like a look like a little tornado.
26:33
It looks like a storm is coming. There is a stone coming. Okay. All right. Well, it's a daily talk show. If you've got any ideas of where we should go next in the world, where should the daily talk show? do a bit of a stint? Los Angeles is obviously a bunch of fun. Could be good to do something in Europe. But yeah, I the daily talk show.com is the email address if you want to send us an email if you have a favourite guest. Make sure that you share on Instagram and Instagram storeys and tagged them up as well because we're all human and we like to know that we're doing all right. And so when you try to get seagulls gronk move just absolutely not. Anyway. And on the bird Do you want to
27:15
take this ride off together? Guys may as well we'll see you tomorrow
27:19
to Delhi talk Shanghai, the toe to toe comments email address, and we'll say tomorrow
27:23
he was in Australia.
