Ep 983
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:00] Very low barrier to get into the ground spot.
Josh Janssen: [00:00:07] We've committed to do the daily talk show for 10 years. I had guys
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:11] on the calendar just like to
Josh Janssen: [00:00:13] check the temperature in the room. I
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:15] told you my squeegee story
Josh Janssen: [00:00:20] listeners. It's the daily talk show episode 983
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:24] Friday. Well, it's going on, Georgie boys over at the, uh, control station. No camera, but can I, George? Oh, good. I guys. Um, good intro, Joe. Thank you today. We're doing this. He's like the epitome of a fat Friday. I go in order our food it's dominoes. Very
Josh Janssen: [00:00:41] confusing because the Domino's packaging is not a standard pizza box.
It has come in a bag, a bag. I've bagged it
Tommy Jackett: [00:00:49] up. From dominant. There's a lot to choose from that menu. Like heaps of sides that you can just build out where eating thousands of calories today for 16 bucks, that's value. That's a fat Friday when I ordered the food and I then while waiting for the food to cook, I went and checked out a new GM.
Josh Janssen: [00:01:10] Oh, really real fat Friday.
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:12] What is the, um, the gym absolute MMA. Yeah. It's awesome. Did a tour. Um, the guy working there. Do you want to know
Josh Janssen: [00:01:20] the Domino's stock
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:21] price right now? Yeah. I'd love to love to. So have a look, but, um, did, but I was like, almost had to rush the guy, made me wrap up your tour. Cause I need to get back to do fat Fridays, but it's a bit ironic now.
Okay. But it's a gym. I'm at a gym, you
know,
Josh Janssen: [00:01:36] $95 and 74 cents is the current stock price. It was at its highest on February 16, 20, 21 or the 17th of February. And $110 and 85 cents. That's a, that's a decent, uh, drop there.
Tommy Jackett: [00:01:53] That's a big Domino's. There you go. That's yours right there. Thank you. And here's your, thank you, Pepsi.
Max, do you, max, did you know, Domino's does chips and this is not brought, this is not brought to you by it. I didn't. What do you think of the look of those soggy? I'll be the judge seasoning looks good though. It does.
Josh Janssen: [00:02:16] Wow. They're good.
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:18] It up. Okay. I'm going to try
Josh Janssen: [00:02:20] salt. Here we go. Alrighty. Okay. Uh,
Tommy Jackett: [00:02:24] let's try.
Anyway. So I got something like, I, I was just wondering, you know, what I was trying to do, George, I was really praying, hoping that today's date March 19 was the day that one of the big, fast food chains was invented like back in history. So as I imagine if it was like today was like when MCAS was invented and then we can eat Mackers, I've got a date fact for you.
Well, I can give you the one that was a failed date facts. I was hoping, and I looked it up. You can actually find a list of when all the fast food chains were invented, where one day off March, 2020 was when. Uh, KFC was invented. Oh, so we're a day off and on. We don't do a weekend show. So, uh, next, next thing you get Nando's it's, it's been not Domino's Domino's
Josh Janssen: [00:03:13] it's not, um, they're not soggy, but they are burnt out.
Have you tasted that? They actually tastes burnt.
Tommy Jackett: [00:03:20] Like it. I said, look at this, look at this. This is today a, um, Uh, Peter pocket what's inside is a pepperoni pizza, basically. So it's like a pizza that has been morphed into a pocket. Oh, it looks good. Pepperoni pocket. Okay. Here we go. I don't know if that's the right name for it.
Let me tell you exactly what it's called. The foil was sort of
Josh Janssen: [00:03:42] weird. Don't you think? Yeah. Pepperoni pocket.
Tommy Jackett: [00:03:45] Okay, here we go. Hmm. And then George, I want to hear your fact date facts, right? I'm going to go, right? You guys say that. So. 19th of March my brother's birthday today. Nah, that'd be better. Um, but this is a fact that I know the Sydney Harbor bridge was, uh, I think finalized on the 19th of March.
Great fact. I'll have to look it up to double check, but I'm pretty sure that's that's right. Okay. 39, nothing like a unconfirmed fact on the show. We liked those,
Josh Janssen: [00:04:20] uh, three-day deals, podcast, the process. But he said that, um, some Patrick's dye was on the 17th.
Tommy Jackett: [00:04:27] Is that true? It's been, I just happened. It's always Western Patrick's.
Then if you're Irish, it is, I had a, a beer with Ryan who came to surprise. Amy. This week went down, um, had a beer, got told it was St. Patrick's day. And then the bar owner came up with a whiskey shot. That's like it's a bit early, but you did it. I did. I had to be here. one for him, one for Ryan one for me at that point.
I couldn't say that. So nice. Real nice. Shout
Josh Janssen: [00:05:02] out, Adam. So this reminds me of taking a pizza and folding it in half.
Tommy Jackett: [00:05:09] Yeah. Yeah. Do you think it's not what they've done though? Like it, it looks the shape of a pocket, like a purposeful pocket. Hm. Hm. What do you think? Yeah, it's not, it's a bit hard to talk and eat.
It's like really stays in your mouth for a long time. Doesn't it? Yeah. Yeah. The dome. Yeah. 19th of March. It opened the Sydney Harbor bridge, 1932 first, um, first, uh, power Panter across 1930, two long time. I mean, how long did it build for this is the, one of the biggest bridges I've ever seen in my life.
Like this thing, if you're not Australian or haven't been to Sydney, Uh, you can see the bridge from so far away Paramatta, which is like, it's very far out in the birds of Sydney. We were up in, uh, or filming a project. Um, and we water new South Wales has their head office in Paramatta and we were in their big building.
And you could see the Sydney Harbor bridge from Paramatta. It's phenomenal. How, how far away it is and how big that thing is to have a guest, how long you reckon it took? Um, Oh, I reckon like 20 years. Yeah, 20 really? Okay. No for, uh, construction start 1923. So and 91, nine years, 28th of July, 1923, construction end 1932.
So yeah. Yeah. Interesting. Hey, speak dude. That's a lot of effort. What about the West gate bridge? I remember my mom would tell me when I was young. Cause West gate bridge was the biggest bridge in Melbourne and then the Balti bridge was built when I was young. Do you remember the
Josh Janssen: [00:06:45] first? No. I just know that the West gate bridge.
They had their 50th anniversary of collapsing. So
Tommy Jackett: [00:06:52] that was in the construction phase. Um, because it wasn't, it wasn't a bridge that just fell out a wall, but a lot of people passed away. Mum told me that she's like, we could hear it in the city. She was working in the CBD. It's so good.
Josh Janssen: [00:07:07] I got a gift from Jess, got into the office and she said, I got you a gift.
And so I was thinking when I think of gifts, You, um, you'd like to bring in like food or whatever when it comes to gifts. If you've got some LaCroix, is that a new brand value? Getting you giving gifts, managing
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:26] your moods. Now I actually like it. Cause you would actually joy giving you gifts, which seems weird because you actually love it.
Like if you know something that you love, that's I say like it's not even one of my values give giving of my
Josh Janssen: [00:07:44] I'm giving it to my love language. Do you like it?
Tommy Jackett: [00:07:48] I think I, uh, you definitely like people being thoughtful or thinking about stuff because that's how you look to me.
Josh Janssen: [00:07:56] It's basically what you're describing is describing, but Jess did give me a gift and it is, um, I was thinking maybe some chocolate or whatever.
I'm like, I don't really want to eat it today, but you know, it's nice, but she got me a NeuroCom for stress nervous tension and mild anxiety. Metagenics
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:17] Oh, anxiety. She said, I heard her say the other day you need Metagenics. You need to go see an Astro Medicat Metagenics. Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:08:23] And so she, she got me, you don't
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:25] hear pedal saying you need Xanax.
You need to go to a doctor and get Xanax.
Josh Janssen: [00:08:29] That mean it's very lovely though. Isn't it getting a drug as a gift?
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:33] Natural. This isn't something you need to necessarily get checked out for, to before you start taking it, they sell it over the counter. You'd
Josh Janssen: [00:08:41] need to, you need to be prescribed. And just prescribed you for Jess has been prescribed it.
You need,
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:48] um, you need a prescription to get that,
Josh Janssen: [00:08:54] but, uh, it needs to be referred from a naturopath.
Tommy Jackett: [00:08:58] Yeah, but it's, it's natural.
filled out a form and said, Josh is in allergic to anything.
Josh Janssen: [00:09:06] So you did that with my, um, cold sore stuff, which I would have loved to be involved in it.
You can't get rid of them, but when we went to the pharmacist for that, you really took control. They said, have you taken this before? You're like, yes, I'm just sort of standing behind with my bank card Bangla. It's the same way that I'm paying for your. No
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:27] cults, Ahmed, Ima sugar, daddy,
Josh Janssen: [00:09:29] maybe
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:31] Neurocam lovely.
Yeah. There's I mean, even
Josh Janssen: [00:09:36] magnesium, there's certain strengths of magnesium that you need a prescription for,
Tommy Jackett: [00:09:42] which is weird because you can, it's like getting something of a lesser dose and just buying lots of packets of them. Like, there's something silly that people can be about high dose capsules or something.
So what do you think? I mean,
Josh Janssen: [00:09:57] so I've taken one. I gave one to George. Did you have a George? Yep. Feeling calm. I feel great. Do you think it actually has helped?
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:04] Yeah. All right. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to did how much is placebo and that stuff?
Josh Janssen: [00:10:10] Yeah, not sure. Does it matter though?
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:11] Does it? Nope. Well, as long as it works, plus everything, I tell you what doesn't work is a placebo.
'cause it's it's it's interesting. Cause the, I guess he called it so Bodhi gets bitten by mosquitoes at daycare. I've got a mosquito problem, something shocking. It's the trees that they've got there, that there must be some moisture. They fucking live in these trees. Dude. It's so bad.
Josh Janssen: [00:10:35] And the poor kid, is it on a Lake?
Tommy Jackett: [00:10:37] You'd think so. You'd think so. Um, but he scratches at them and I was like, Oh, do you guys have. Um, like a while ago, do you have repellent and like, yeah. Yeah. And then I see it and it's like natural, like citronella, like people would probably say it works, but I'm telling you, they put it on him. It doesn't work.
And it's, and I looked at the one we have at home and, and it's not that it's not what they have. So they've got the, it's like a low strength. I want the, and, but the thing is they can't apply one unless it's given to them, they can't buy the strong one. But so I mean more natural repellent isn't working, but I wonder if there could be a placebo effect, but, so it's an external
Josh Janssen: [00:11:24] thing.
You're watching me eat my pizza pocket and trying to buy me time, which is funny. Cause I took a bite. And it seems rude to chew. So I've just been taking a bite and swallowing, like not doing any of it. So
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:36] what's the self-awareness that has come out of nowhere what's happened.
Josh Janssen: [00:11:41] Nobody told you off? No, like as in, I just, I just saw myself doing it then where I wasn't chewing, like I just swallowed a
Tommy Jackett: [00:11:48] large pace.
Yeah. But the thing on the placebo, I wonder because mozzies are external. Um, and taking a tablet and changing something like your anxiety level is an internal process versus controlling of Mazi that flies onto your skin and bites you. I wonder how placebo effect, um, something of a spray application that is reading off mozzies.
I don't think it might work the same way. Do you, um,
Josh Janssen: [00:12:16] do you know what vocal fry is?
Tommy Jackett: [00:12:19] Vocal fry is something to do with it's something a singer would get from frying, their voice, vocal fry. I don't know some kind of like range. Like virbrato, it's something that people do with their voice. It's
Josh Janssen: [00:12:34] sound, something like read about maybe four years ago and ever since hearing about it and writing about it.
I hear it all the time. And it's one of those things where it's very hard to address, because it sounds like you're just being a prick, but vocal fry is when people will talk like this. So it's a very like, um, like if you're explaining a story might be a bit uncomfortable. And so you end up like doing this thing with your voice.
Really? Yeah. Yeah. What have you heard
Tommy Jackett: [00:13:10] people do that? Definitely. Have you, you know, Steve-O. As Steve from Jack hasn't. He did this little he's. He actually does great videos. He's a reformed drug addict. It was wild as hell. And he, um, talks openly about the amount of drugs he talk in the dark place. He was in the amount of like Nang, nitrous, oxide, little capsules that he was like, hundreds of these die, just like nonstop.
Off his head. And he thinks that that all inf affected his voice because he has such a weird speech. He does, and he thought, man, there's something wrong. So he's like doing this video where he goes and gets his, um, sees a specialist, the best, the person that does all the celebrity singers, the singers and the celebrity.
Now he seems like Justin Bieber. Now they said that he's just not using his voice correctly. Really
Josh Janssen: [00:14:04] talk properly, stop
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:05] mumbling. And so he's working with a voice coach. But you see how it's like the next,
Josh Janssen: [00:14:11] but check with them. What's his name is Steven Stefan. But imagine
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:16] imagining that people that talk get in a habit of like doing what you're saying.
Yeah. He could actually become their, their voice that they use, but that's the way, like, I'd never even think about how I use my
Josh Janssen: [00:14:27] voice Bray. Does it when she's telling like a stressful story, like if something's happening, she'll be like, yeah. And then it's the worst time for me. Like, I haven't done it. But it's like, are you, um, doing vocal?
Like you've got to be the vocal fry.
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:40] What's the, what's the problem with vocal fry?
Josh Janssen: [00:14:43] Well, I think it's just great. Um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:46] you, how much a garlic bread, a week combo garlic bread and two Pepsi maxes are, um, six
Josh Janssen: [00:14:52] 95 for all. Three. Are
Tommy Jackett: [00:14:55] you cooked? Have a guest. It's a combo, a combo, a garlic bread into Pepsi max. Have a guess how much?
Eight bucks. Five. And I guess how much two pips he maxes out by themselves? Five, five
Josh Janssen: [00:15:09] garlic bread is geez. That's a, if I knew this earlier in life, every, every, uh, two Coke, every, uh, two Pepsi max, one garlic bread.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:21] Why, why do you need it? Why should one person
Josh Janssen: [00:15:23] stop? All right. So here's what I did. He's a thing.
Um, Bri, uh, bite to nails when she's stressed.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:31] Not, not often not to the
Josh Janssen: [00:15:33] yeah, like her pretty like cuticles and stuff. Like, so just like pressing her finger into a T tape. I reckon I've seen her do it. Yeah. And so I side do I I'll stop pointing it out. Yes or no good idea to do that or no.
Tommy Jackett: [00:15:49] So Amy's got one, which is really because we're pieces of shit.
Yeah. But I just have a podcast that can talk about our partners in this way, without them having a response
Josh Janssen: [00:15:57] to the ones that are making them stressed.
Tommy Jackett: [00:16:01] It's all of alpha Amy scratches like this she's like scratches back just like hand over there. Like not even doing much, but just like. And I'm just like, Hey, because I know she's stressed and I'm like, she's in the middle of something.
She's not aware of. Which, I mean, George
Josh Janssen: [00:16:20] I'm from Hannah. Is there anything that does, I'm trying to think actually,
Tommy Jackett: [00:16:24] Can't think of anything that she does when she's stressed, that stands out. But, um, she always points out to me that whenever I talk on the phone, I just pace. Um, I mean, I'm, I'm in absolutely shit if I was to point out my things.
Well, so you
Josh Janssen: [00:16:39] do this, the breathing out thing. Um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:16:43] you, um,
Josh Janssen: [00:16:45] like depending, I, it's funny how you and I trigger each other like yesterday. Um, if I'm, if I'm in a, not in a great mood, It's probably easier for me to bully. Like it seems funny. People would probably laugh at the idea of Josh bullying, Tommy. But there's but, but you yesterday gone to the aha.
This is funny. Isn't it making Tommy look dumb? Yeah. This is what Josh, this is what Josh does. And then, cause George was laughing at me, laughing at you. Hey, dummy. And George was laughing and then you said, George, it's going to be you tomorrow. And I'll be laughing at you being done because this is what Josh does.
He makes people feel dumb. No, it's easy.
Tommy Jackett: [00:17:27] Cause I, what I have stayed in the past that you do it in a bunch of it's like the gang up thing. It's a kid's trait. Like kids do it in primary school. It's a semi on people though. Um, no. Probably at times, but it's like stacks on you're the, you're the kid that takes it too far.
Like your brother would probably even say, yes, that's exactly. I think he has told me, he's like, Hey Matt, you were spot
Josh Janssen: [00:17:51] on with that. It sounds like you're going to a pub on a Friday night talking about me, but in,
Tommy Jackett: [00:17:55] I drink, we drink hard or we bitch Patrick stuff. That'd be good. Jake and I hosting the podcast.
It's just, Oh yeah. Bitching about.
speech about bro. Um, now, I mean, Jess said I sniff,
Josh Janssen: [00:18:15] Oh yeah, you have no, um, like it makes me feel sick. My mom hated it when growing, like hearing kids fucking,
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:26] and you were three,
Josh Janssen: [00:18:29] like, um, yeah, it's sort of, uh, It's disgusting. Cause it's all going into your throat, but it's
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:35] the, I remember kids that would do it and block your ears right now, if you don't like the sound of it, but the real pullback, like, ah, that was discussed that's V like that's, that's no good.
What I'm saying is that's not me. I'm a version of it, but you do
Josh Janssen: [00:18:50] a bit of
Tommy Jackett: [00:18:50] that. Sniffing in. Yeah. Yeah. I get a bit congested in the morning. There's nothing worse. I feel like I'm around my mum and it's not just because Jess is a female, but Jess addressed me the other morning saying like I walked in and I must've just gone.
You sick. And I would always hate it. If my mom asked if I was sick, for some reason, I'm not, I had a few beers last night. I'm fucking a bit rough. Like if I drink, it's not even if I'm hung over. If I just have beers, my brother gets it too. Something a bit of a congestion easily after a night at
Josh Janssen: [00:19:22] the, um, I went to a Thai restaurant last night and they had a glass of Coke, zero for $3 50 or a can for four 50.
Does it come with garlic bread? And it didn't, but can you, what, what am I meant to do with that info?
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:36] So one's more is wanting, got more. So three,
Josh Janssen: [00:19:39] $3 50 for a glass
three 50 for a glass, four 50 for a can.
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:49] It's all about the size. What are
Josh Janssen: [00:19:50] we talking? But there's no details
Tommy Jackett: [00:19:52] on that. I got canned cans. Gotta be bigger because I don't like water down. The amount of places I've ordered a car I could call out. That shit's syrup, but
Josh Janssen: [00:20:05] I, I don't, I don't mind. No, it's not syrupy enough.
I think would be your argument
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:13] which actually you can fuck the combination, whereas it can
Josh Janssen: [00:20:17] guys like the idea of having a DC in our big cups. With a bunch of ice and a straw really gets me going, I haven't done it yet, but, um, we would need a sort of a sodas system, like no soda stream. I would love to actually have, Oh, that's something like, we talked about the arcade thing.
What about our house?
But
Tommy Jackett: [00:20:38] yeah, managing your house. Um, I know, I know. Um, I think Hamish Blake used to have a beer tap in his house in his old house. And I sit, measure it. Like I asked my brothers, I'm still got that. He's like, nah, it doesn't use it too annoying. You have to put a keg in it, you to clean it.
And so I think w I don't know if I'm, unless your. Stacked. And you have someone who works at the bar in your house, everybody on alcoholic. Um, well you can get many kegs these days where you actually been the keg once you've used it. What about, um, Richard Wilkins? Didn't ha did he
Josh Janssen: [00:21:13] tap you? He was more of a spirits guy.
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:16] Like you next. If you've got a tap of wine in your house, like a wine tap, it's a new, like Pinot grayish, but a Rose. You want the chilled wines coming out there?
If
Josh Janssen: [00:21:27] I, if I was to, um, if there was an afterlife I'd like to come back as Richard Wilkins,
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:33] he's seen a bit. Yeah, he's done a bit. Just, you know, hasn't
Josh Janssen: [00:21:37] slept in 16, but just this morning and just the tan and the, the shirt open, not the
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:46] house that he had, because that was fucking
Josh Janssen: [00:21:48] next level.
I guess that's where he's living. But it's just the whole thing. Just the whole, um, the bar set up, it's just, um, it's just comfy, isn't it? One of the
Tommy Jackett: [00:21:59] first, uh, celebs in Australia to get coronavirus in beta. That's right. Wasn't it? Yeah, it was like, there was people going to camera crews at his door, celebrity that also just like flies under the radar as well.
You know, like he's just been around. Everyone knows him as, but he's been around for so long. He's he's phone would be filled up with celebs. Like he knows everybody, he's a mover
Josh Janssen: [00:22:26] and shaker just to close the loop on the, um, the cup versus the cam. I decided, I just wouldn't say which one and just say what they brought good guy.
So I said, could I get kg, zero plays? And she said, he found with diet Coke. I said, yes. She brings out a can. And the glass, so the can goes into the glass. So you get multiple glasses out of the can. Okay. So that's why there's the discrepancy. Yep. We also asked for one coconut rice and they brought us to pay for one and pay for two.
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:04] Yeah. I see. You had tie
Josh Janssen: [00:23:07] tie in. You didn't get a ticket. Yeah. Yeah. That's why I went down. Um, it was funny actually. Uh, Uh, going down chapel straight. I just remembered this. I, uh, uh, saw someone that I knew made eye contact. They were looking great that like leaned out or whatever. It's like, I almost didn't recognize them.
Um, you know, walking really tall and eyes caught and I was sort of feeling like a bit of a slob, you know, I've got my, my beard and all that sort of thing. And, um, it'd been a while since I'd seen them. And we made eye contact. What do you normally do in that situation?
Tommy Jackett: [00:23:52] And so
Josh Janssen: [00:23:52] like, I've got headphones, I've got headphones on.
So I make eye contact. He makes eye contact my eyes go big. Like I got it. And then it hits him. Oh, that's Josh. He's eyes go big. We're still moving. Oh, no. We sort of do a like, Oh, like it was going to be a, just a howdy and then just keep going. And then for whatever reason, I started to slow and take my headphones out.
Yeah. And then he's probably two meters behind me. I turn around and he sort of smiles, puts his hand up and say, God, sorry, I had this case walking.
And so I just put my headphones on. I had knocking boots.
you know who you
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:50] were?
Josh Janssen: [00:24:50] Yeah, it was a, but it was like a real smile. Like, you know what, like I can't talk.
Tommy Jackett: [00:24:57] Can you text me the person's name? And I just don't want to say it cause I want to, I think there's something if you know the person too, like, I wouldn't be surprised if you would the dude doing that.
Like if I have that Josh, that makes sense. So
Josh Janssen: [00:25:11] I have, and I was thinking about it and thinking it's a bit of an anxious guy. Oh my God. Nearly messaged him.
Richard Jimmy's name.
That's not ideal. Oh. And you know what it was. So it was,
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:28] he said his name and then just fill out with great
Josh Janssen: [00:25:30] to see you. It was so, um, it made me feel so sad and just, um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:25:37] uh,
Josh Janssen: [00:25:38] Inferior. Literally, I CA I caught up with Bree before Ty, as we're going in, just like, Oh, I just bumped into blah, blah. And I had a coffee stand.
I felt like a pig. It's like, I didn't, we didn't talk about it. She's like, did you bump into anyone? I was just like, nah, I couldn't. I just couldn't bring myself to relive the mother's story. And then I was like, you know what? Like then I was starting to think maybe. Maybe I should have in that moment, because is it a power move if it, not that it's all about, you know, power moves and sort of doing that.
Yeah. But if I, if I said my you're looking great and that was it and kept walking,
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:24] would that have done anything? Yeah, he would definitely have thought about it. I wonder if he's thought about the exchange since? Yeah.
Josh Janssen: [00:26:33] The funny thing was I was like, I don't have Instagram on my phone. I've got on Safari and I did just check my messages.
I thought it was so horrendous, the interaction that was expecting like mate. So, and I did look at the time and it was six 30, two. I was like, you know what? I had a six 30 meeting. He's 10 minutes late. That's why he's
Tommy Jackett: [00:26:55] stressed or he didn't want to stop.
Josh Janssen: [00:26:58] But then I realized, so I had this feeling about it, where I was like, I don't even feel that good about it, but you know, this, these things happen.
But then I do remember, uh, on a morning walk, seeing someone that I knew I'd seen them awake earlier. And then it turns out that I worked out that if I went to work at a certain time, I was going to bump into them. And sure enough, they were walking by, they went to stop and I did a bit of a, but I at least said, uh, Oh, I'm just on the phone.
Probably saying the phone thing is easy, but the one where it's like, He wasn't even on his phone and to fight, which is a really like really nice smile. He looked like he had new teeth or something to that. He was looking crazy. Like you piece of shit, just you go. I just wanted to scream out. I wear the air buds because they're better sound, you know, it's just, I look like I was fucking like from 2004 walking along, like it looked like I'd fucking cool.
Everything. Yeah, I've got a feed. I've got a fucking, why it headphones. He must have thought I was, I fucking, you know,
Tommy Jackett: [00:28:09] I've once bumped into this guy and I was so blown away by the exchange. It was just really weird. He like, he's like, like was doing this weird shit and I'm like, ah, anxiety. He's like, no worries.
And then he messages me like a couple of hours later. He's like, dude, sorry. I just had the biggest line of cocaine and I couldn't talk, I was
Josh Janssen: [00:28:32] at a party or something
Tommy Jackett: [00:28:33] fucking five o'clock on a Friday afternoon in St. Kilda. I'm just walking past and I'm like, Oh, I don't know, man. And he was
Josh Janssen: [00:28:39] just, could
Tommy Jackett: [00:28:41] you imagine, thanks for the honesty dude, like sure.
Josh Janssen: [00:28:45] How fucked up I am on no drugs. Imagine if I like took illicit substances, like you'd need to create a whole. System. I was even thinking, Oh, it will find a reminder for everyone ambulance cover. I haven't yet. And I thought about it. I'm like, you know what? I'm having a lot of these swallowing issues
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:05] recently.
I think there's like, actually I shouldn't tell you that. I don't want
Josh Janssen: [00:29:11] to be honest. I feel like the swallowing thing started. After the ambulance cover lapsed. So cell phone today I'll do it literally takes 30 seconds. I came to it.
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:22] Can we do it before the end of the show? And, uh, George and I can just take us out.
No, no, that's fine. I would,
Josh Janssen: [00:29:28] yes, George. Um, yeah, show me last time. It's not happening again. Um, on that note, uh, I'll stay. Thank you. Yeah, thanks for the offer. That's all good. Um, but I will do the ambulance cover. So you taught and I'm joking.
Um,
Josh Janssen: [00:29:49] Is that the end of the
Tommy Jackett: [00:29:50] ambulance? No, we really want you to stop and do your ambulance color.
Josh Janssen: [00:29:55] It's definitely worthwhile admin. Have you done any recent admin, any admin wins? Um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:02] nothing, no need. Haven't not, not needing to do any admin. The ATM,
Josh Janssen: [00:30:08] you got a discount on all trails.
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:10] Yeah, we should finish the shot.
Josh Janssen: [00:30:14] George, if you had any yet,
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:16] uh, yeah, last weekend I paid off my tax bill, which was,
Josh Janssen: [00:30:22] um, thank you.
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:25] That's annoying. But it was, yeah. Had to be done.
Josh Janssen: [00:30:28] I was listening to she's on the money. Fantastic podcast. BPAY is a sponsor. It's a very funny sponsor.
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:35] Well, Yeah. Think about BPAY as a business. I didn't even know.
I thought BPAY was a thing that just was like a part of bank. Yeah, it's a business.
Josh Janssen: [00:30:45] It sounds like the equivalent of like, Use money or
Tommy Jackett: [00:30:49] by using money, just trends, moving money from one account to another. That was the weird thing because when I paid my tax,
Josh Janssen: [00:30:58] I go like, do you want to sit here and tell them?
I
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:02] found it interesting because I have a limit on how much I can pay out of my bank. And my tax was more than that. Yep. And so it wasn't, it wasn't working, but then with BPAY, just you pay and it goes all the way through. There's a limit to BPAY as well. I think you can change your limits. Yeah, no, but I couldn't get high enough without going into a branch.
That's that big chase and cross that's a big bill. Yeah. Six figure bill. It was 10
Josh Janssen: [00:31:26] years of how much cash have you had at one time? Um,
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:35] Uh, no, I
Josh Janssen: [00:31:37] wasn't paying that mate that you bumped into.
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:40] Yeah, no, he gave me a heap of cash. No, no, no. It was. I mean how much cash if I had in my hand at once 20 grand, I reckon. Oh, but that was not around the bank rec and the bank thing.
Josh Janssen: [00:31:54] When would you be around it, but what does that mean? Like in
Tommy Jackett: [00:31:56] taking money out to go buy a car or a
Josh Janssen: [00:31:58] guy with a thousand dollars at the Oz, post paying all these
Tommy Jackett: [00:32:01] bills, heaps, it, men heaps of people.
Do you know why? No, because they're old and they don't want to set up net bank and they don't want it. Like it's it was crazy. My Nan still gets the little, like. She like statements on paper or something or whatever, take
Josh Janssen: [00:32:17] them down to you, George. He literally, all of your utilities are paper aren't they?
Tommy Jackett: [00:32:22] Yeah. That's true. Is that, that trust email? Well, they haven't gone into NetBank and started it up there. It's there's another way guys. And it doesn't involve waiting in a fucking annoying line at a post office. But then you need a computer. I think about, imagine trying to get started on net bank, just from your phone.
I mean, not bank, you do it all on your phone actually. So quick.
Josh Janssen: [00:32:42] Can, um, can I tell people that if, if they've been interested in the stuff that I've been talking about with stocks, self wealth is a great app and I'm going to put my affiliate link and you get five free trades.
Tommy Jackett: [00:32:57] I'll put my bit Nance. What's that?
That's your. Finance does my crypto wallet. So I'll put my bananas
Josh Janssen: [00:33:06] and I'll put myself wealth. So if you want stocks, click on the self wealth. Yeah. Five free stocks, if you want. Can I try it? Can I
Tommy Jackett: [00:33:14] pay for five stocks? What did I say? Try it. You, but it doesn't make any sense. Five free stocks
Josh Janssen: [00:33:22] and five free.
So it's like in the U S they have like, ah, yeah, you can get a star, like a free stock. That's all trash. Um, nine 95 normally is self wealth. Um, transaction transaction fee, you get five free transactions, so you could buy a stock and you don't have to pay the nine 95. And so could I buy Bitcoin on brand?
Tommy Jackett: [00:33:46] Yeah, but certainly the recommends. No. Why? Because it's at $70,000. And so,
Josh Janssen: [00:33:51] but if you think it's going to, if you think it's going to the moon.
Tommy Jackett: [00:33:55] Yeah. But it's still, how much are you willing to pay? Because 1% of $74,000. Is so little, like, you're not like to get a one, like even if Bitcoin goes to a million dollars, if you buy 1% of one of these, it's going to be still small.
So it's like, my point is you're that, unless you think, unless you have the cash
Josh Janssen: [00:34:20] bought one, Sarah teaching rhymes with peachy, um, she's a YouTuber. She, uh, used her crypto or used her, um, Bitcoin. She basically locked in and said, okay, if it goes over $37,000 or whatever Sal, right. And this was like a couple of months ago when it was, you know, trading it 20 or whatever it was hit it, she sold a sold it or whatever, use the money, bought a Tesla.
So that's
Tommy Jackett: [00:34:52] a fine, how much did she pay for the Bitcoin though? 4,000.
Josh Janssen: [00:34:55] She, she bought it like, that's
Tommy Jackett: [00:34:57] great. But the other thing is still spit dropping 4k on a Bitcoin. But the thing is that it has them all. It doesn't buy them anymore.
Josh Janssen: [00:35:05] Well, I thought the interesting, the interesting thing was she said, said she bought the, the
Tommy Jackett: [00:35:11] Tesla has now
Josh Janssen: [00:35:15] bought more crypto and bought more Bitcoin at that price, which is like at the high price now
Tommy Jackett: [00:35:21] because I had spare money.
I would buy a couple, a couple of Bitcoin and hold them for $140,000. Yeah. But if I had spare money, you don't buy a Bitcoin if you don't have, but who's buying beyond 74,000.
Josh Janssen: [00:35:35] So two, two by two you're banking on it, going to the moon. That's what people say. I'm
Tommy Jackett: [00:35:43] just going to write that in the comments.
Josh Janssen: [00:35:46] What's a Twitter thing. I think Elon Musk says to the moon. Yeah. We're going to the moon.
Tommy Jackett: [00:35:52] Yeah. And they call it pump, pump, pump, pump, and dump. But if you had $74,000 and you had lots of other money and that wouldn't affect you whatsoever, if you lost it all, surely there's more fun things too saying they're going to go to a million.
George are you
Josh Janssen: [00:36:10] into any of this
Tommy Jackett: [00:36:11] stuff? Uh, I haven't got any, but I am quite fascinated by it gets you a bit now, but I'm going to get on.
Josh Janssen: [00:36:16] Yeah, Tommy's going to
Tommy Jackett: [00:36:19] get himself wealth as well. Right. Josh already texted it to me. So yeah, that's an inmate.
Josh Janssen: [00:36:23] I did it individually. I did individual texts. I
Tommy Jackett: [00:36:26] felt like
Josh Janssen: [00:36:27] the moon.
Did I probably do. I know you to the moon. All right. Enjoy your fat Fridays, everyone. And we'll see you on Monday.
Tommy Jackett: [00:36:34] Have a good one guys.
