It's the daily Talk Show Episode 472. How are you guys happy a
0:14
punch weekend to kick things I quit gotcha.
0:17
First day of October, good pinch around a
0:19
little bit shy.
0:22
Was my pinches old. I don't know if I even landed with the punch with a
0:28
very solid.
0:28
You landed the pinch. And good on you, Toba one.
0:33
October 1 2019.
0:35
It is it's that day. And I mean, you were mentioning this day last week when our social media accounts.
0:42
Yeah, I like to get into the socials do a bit of hype. And what happened this day? October 197. Was it some interesting
0:52
anything significant? Well, I don't know if it's not
0:56
1863 five Russian warships. Welcome to New York City. Just welcome straight through
1:03
into the Hudson. That'd be a fucking sight to see
1:07
in in 1890. Congress established you semi National Park. Ah,
1:13
on this day.
1:14
Gemini, California. Yeah, that's all part of the world.
1:18
Anything else? rounded off
1:20
nice. A nice seven Plaza Hotel. Fifth Avenue and 59th Street New York opens. Huh?
1:28
He's gone very heavy on.
1:31
Is it just that there's a lot of cool shit happening over in the East Coast? Yeah. Anything happened? In my West Coast. Any more West Coast stuff. October one? Surely not. There's another New York Giants. Is baseball. Back off with? Yeah, we're too far east. Anyway, what Josh did put out on social media was that would make an announcement today. Yeah. first of October come in strong. 30. Well, yeah.
2:01
And so the this is the thing when you're doing an announcement, what I hate is when people announce too far in advance.
2:09
How fast too far in advance?
2:10
I guess it depends what it is. I think, in this case, potentially if it was more than a month, yeah, you sort of
2:18
would lose interest. So here's the thing. Sometimes you don't even know that that far. Because we only work this out last week. And then the second day after you put up the
2:28
western announcement. Exactly. So what we are doing is on November 120 19, we aren't doing a two
2:39
to
2:40
America, Los Angeles, California,
2:45
which is very annoying about all the New York mentions we were beginning to
2:49
and when you say to her it is to California, the one state we will be there we
2:54
are touring Los Angeles. It's a big, big, big city. My I'm sorry, fucking sorry. Did you know when you
3:02
decide that you're gonna go on a holiday? Yeah. And you just you so set. And if you're not watching, we have American flags right there. And right now?
3:11
I 58. Whether
3:13
I dollar 58. Yeah, yeah. Good tax write off. Yeah.
3:16
And the show. And so the plan is we are going to be doing 21 episodes. Over 10 days from the first to the 10th. Yeah. And so we'll roll them out live as were happening. And then when we get home, they'll still be happening. So
3:33
every week, three weeks of the daily talk show from the US of A and you've last year,
3:39
the flag slipped off
3:41
its mind slipping off to
3:42
that's fine. I mean, it's a silky sort of material. very silky. Have you been to America before? 97 that never been before
3:48
man You haven't even spoken to you I literally was demonstrate before we joined us it just mostly actually know that we're going to the states why sort of said to him Have I have you told your mom and dad yet? I want to say this. I told them, you know?
4:03
Maybe I should just leave until mommy's hears it tonight.
4:07
That's a good idea. Can you
4:09
say what mom says first of November also your birthday?
4:12
Yep. So we'll get started. Yeah. Holy shit. Yeah. So that means that we're flying out. He's
4:19
gonna get to birthday.
4:22
American birthday,
4:23
it's a shame that you're turning 20 and not 21.
4:26
Dude, you know, I checked out filing system a table for your birthdays. And I read it the wrong way. I read a 10th of something. So I was like, I'm sorry. happy because I The reason I checked it, which was like, is that? Do we have Mr. 97th birthday while we're away? And then we get sick. So I'll be will most likely fly out the morning. So you'll probably just get to kiss me on the cheek and say
4:55
happy birthday.
4:56
Thanks. And don't know what you're saying. What are you excited about?
5:01
Oh, just going to the US. That'll be that'll be awesome. never been there before. That's gonna be so cool.
5:06
The way of we're going to be hanging out with Matt de valour a bunch. Yeah, it'll be great. We've got we've been chatting the last week, the conversations that we've already had in regards to guess people were talking about Sydney, and they were excited about Sydney.
5:19
Yeah, had a lovely message you're saying? Now the guests
5:22
in CD. I mean, everything is very, it's one of those things where I feel like we can't take credit. It's just like the guests will be super generous.
5:30
Yes. And yes. I mean, the generosity in the guests themselves, even allowing the gronk to interact with them. And so yeah, I think this is 30 days, until we go. We've got lots of time. There's already a bunch of Kool Aid legends locked in race, Mitchell, my homie, you have a smile, who I haven't seen in ages, because he lives in LA now. I can't wait to see him. The same.
5:54
I think that during what I was also, I don't know if I brought this up with you. 97. But it's going to be a month of firsts. And so in October, like leading up to it now, before we go away, I want to do some form of our first ever giveaway.
6:11
Yeah. Yeah. Well, it has to be something relating to the US of A something to realise that so
6:18
I think maybe two weeks out two weeks out from going to LA Yeah, we will organise a competition where you could win something interesting. I think the babies need to be fearless can be because we got the 500th that's, that's on the 27th 29th 29th Tuesday the 29th and so Tuesday the 29th and then Friday the first of November we had 31 days we got yeah 30 days have September, April, June and November. Yes.
6:48
Although Yeah, so we've got 31 so after today we got 30 until we're hitting on to that point so now we need to be because it's the you know the big the big 500 and we've got flying and straight on the on the ground. We need to be fearless can be I mean it's good ran a good you know 30 more days ahead of us. Yeah, is a good you know, it's a solid number to be able to just pick up a habit and solid habit. Health habit. What are you get to put your hand up for?
7:19
I'm going to
7:23
run every second day. I'm going to walk on the odd days. I am going to go to the gym twice a week. And
7:35
I just want to one good the second day running things great. Don't need a as he looks at me with his eye Twitch.
7:41
Just try the gym membership. No, let's go no go away. It's maybe not just in case I injured myself. You can do a bit
7:48
I think I think you'd probably be better off doing like whites and stuff and running.
7:52
What about just moving and chit fucking getting out there? Yo Yo, what
7:55
about a dance? You know, hot Josh does these wins them win? wins, wins. Hey, what do we think about me doing something like that?
8:02
If you wanna if you want to make I'm supportive of anything I
8:07
yeah, I just want to pick it up. Just Swimming. Swimming would be great.
8:11
I swimming would be good.
8:12
I had a la trip that I I got this. I got the thickest in the massive list I've ever been for this trip. And did I put on? I reckon so like it's not fast but I put on 10 kilos by the time I got back for one is like I did because I was eating really lean in my body probably wasn't holding too much crap. And as soon as I just hit the ground just donuts Mr. 97 I mean, we'd like to keep you dialled in check while we're in the States, but it is a place that has an offer some really fucking cheap food. Yeah, that is
8:47
really good. But then there's also LA. No la, la. He's got like some you can pay, you know, $20 for a nice vegan smoothie or something. Yeah.
9:01
That's ridiculous. What? 20 bucks
9:03
20 bucks for a swim. So
9:05
here's the reality. Here's the reality. We did view SI, one year ago. A little bit over it like tiny bit over a year ago. So it's great. It's almost like it could be
9:19
a year ago right now.
9:20
Yeah, a year ago right now that we had shows coming out from the US. Maybe this is our US time. Yeah, we get in just before
9:26
that's a good time. Like we were back. Yeah, in end of November or whatever for Australia. And summer is gonna be nice. La is beautiful all year round. Yeah,
9:36
it's ridiculous. Mr. Nice to meet you love it. The reality is, when we did that first trip, we had the littlest audience, it made no sense. And that's what I love about these trips.
9:50
So for people who don't know, I reached out to Seth Godin, Tommy sent me the challenge, reach out to Seth Godin try and get him on the podcast by email, Seth, and said, Hi, Seth, of the time, I was in Europe. And so I had embarked on a three month trip with my girlfriend Bry. And so if four days a week, so what we did before you went away, Tommy and I recorded, it was like 16 episodes or something like that of guests. And the idea was that we would release them every Friday the guest episodes. And then what we said at the time, was on Monday, we would record two episodes. And Wednesday, we would record two episodes. So I was only ever taking two days out of my trip each week. And it sounded like you were in a tunnel them but you're just drinking water. What do you may know me to tell you Okay, you and I live from a long mosques tunnel in LA magic, or Yeah, we're live in the tunnel right now. This is the first time I'm doing a bit of audio again. That would be so what
10:54
do we think that will be so open up? I think they're a bit bigger than that. It could be the best soundproof because he in the Tesla in the tunnel.
11:03
But anyway, so we we did a bunch of shows. We ended up doing the four episodes over four different days, just so it was it actually worked out easier that way. Waking up each morning and doing one rather than waking up and doing two Yeah, no, I loved it. And so we did that remotely. We did about 100 episodes remote while I was in Europe. And then it was I was actually in Positano when I got the email back from Seth, where he said, there was a little bit of back and forth. He said, all we can do it over Skype. And I said, I will be in New York City. How about we just do it in person? And I said to TJ Hey, could you do these dates? If Seth was to say yes, you said yes. Seth came back and said, Okay, sure. And so, I finished my Europe trip, there was probably another month and a half left. Then I got a onto a plane, from Greece to Turkey and Turkey, to New York. And whilst that was happening, you were getting on a plane. A Qantas plane from Melbourne, was to LA
12:12
Melbourne to LA LA to New York City.
12:15
And then we met up we had an Airbnb at a Friday right me what's the storey? What's the coffee shop? That's great. The blue stone stone yet blue stone. They've actually started doing their own take away like iced coffees by now
12:30
Lombardi's pizza store was across the road. Yeah, there was something Yeah.
12:34
And so we did that. We did New York, we had Seth Godin, we chatted to Brad blanks we had Chase Jarvis on we had Eddie Buckingham last we have on we did a few shows. Josh Peterman Josh Peter mainly from the park we did one from
12:51
the gardens the Central Park on on the ward and then we got in the robots.
12:56
I was sick. Yeah. And so then we went on to LA and in LA.
13:01
We hung out with Matt Dave Allah we were on his podcast ground up show if you type in imposter syndrome, ground up into YouTube. You can watch that whole video. You'll see how tanned
13:13
I was. Are you so tender your legs?
13:15
Your shiny? Yeah, just so much tan. I came over just white boy. Fresh out of just fresh out a winter in the spring. So yeah, we did have we had heaps of we had a bunch of guests in LA. The thing is I want to get more women on the podcast this time around because I feel like last minute was fucking scrambling and then we looked at me like I was just had a bunch of dudes.
13:37
Yeah, we had Candace Thompson comedian. Yeah, we got so many. We've got time. And we're going to plan it out. And so this is 2.0 Yeah. of our USA adventures.
13:48
97. Did you ever look at what episode range of people want to go? And watch or sorry, listen, so that was an audio on like, this is before we introduced video. Yeah. Joshua film mill,
13:59
Joshua fields meal burn, if you want to find that one that was sort of smack bang in the middle. Yeah.
14:02
185 to 295 to
14:05
215 episodes. That sounds about right. And so
14:09
she's nearly 300 episodes ago. And
14:11
so in LA, we will, we'll be doing a bunch of experiences, will be filming heaps of it. We don't feel
14:19
we didn't film any episodes last time because we weren't a video podcast. You
14:23
were exhausted as as fact as well.
14:26
Yeah, I was fact. Yeah,
14:28
we would argue about the silliest things. Remember?
14:32
Well, I think there is something about a tied team. And if a team is Todd or if one person's taught like it is, it is a fact. And so the good thing is right, the the Melbourne to LA LA to New York is a long stint, and then on the ground there, we've got no excuse as a team. And we're on the same playing field because we haven't been away you haven't been away for three months in Europe without working and so now it's all of us going there will be fitting healthy, and we'll be hitting the ground running.
15:03
And so if you've got any suggestions of people that you might want to hear from people you know, or like if you know any interesting people obviously al with a network where you have a lot of people in media entertainment,
15:16
but other bit like if you just have a family friend who lives there works their
15:22
lunch you're seeing people who are from Australia to who are doing cool shit in LA that will be great.
15:27
I'm going to for that first day. Leverage Mr. 97th birthday. It is that you know when you
15:34
got it. I'm actually more comfortable with that nowadays.
15:37
I want to I want him to wear it's my birthday t shirt. I would
15:41
say this is the opportunity. I miss Blake does this the best whenever he does. He's boys like trips. He always shows me photos of the fuck the memorabilia, like the merge the Yeah, yeah, screen printing. I feel like there's an opportunity for us to just go Yeah, a bit crazy. full blown.
16:04
Yeah, I actually thought the daily talk show the talk how it's all blue. Could be the American flag. Yeah.
16:12
And so I think that would be quite easy. There's any limitations and I seven legally on doing look
16:16
that up. Can you use the American flag? So it's not the same as writing on money? I don't think you know, it's just like taking a photo
16:23
or using like the Aboriginal fat flag or something. It's a bit it's insensitive. And so I mean, yeah, but you make the Danny Josh show great again. Yeah, that was the one to get done when you're not keen on that. No. Okay. Now, what's your idea? For a hat? Or any idea? You can shoot them down?
16:45
America with a gun, but you can't come up with a single ideas?
16:49
No, I like Tommy's idea. I like the idea of putting a flag What about your own fucking?
16:54
My Yeah, get away from mine. Yeah,
16:56
that's mine. Thanks for the validation. It's just a
16:59
classic ally, not willing to
17:02
enter into his own war. Okay. This is it. We've got so Tommy as America. My Michael Bang, bang, guys. Sonia. Sonia. Inspired, amazing facilitator, coach. Let's get these ideas out quick. Mr. 97. You got 60 seconds just real enough. Doesn't matter what they're just real real.
17:18
Well, the first the first thing that came to my mind was a T shirt. But after that a pair of shorts. What else cool.
17:25
What a
17:30
headband
17:31
without? wristband. What if I didn't have up with clothing? Oh.
17:38
IDs in the US?
17:41
Like when I was doing maths at school? What six times six? Is that what you said?
17:47
We start we start off with merge and then
17:49
your ideas around on our trip. Okay. Yeah. Not policy changes for them just more generally, what we could do.
17:58
creatively this year, video, anything you think comes along?
18:03
No, I like the idea of more vlog content. That'd be interesting.
18:09
And my idea good.
18:14
You got this.
18:17
What do you want to do
18:18
what you stink to? I mean, technical nightmare. But it'd be interesting to do a live stream.
18:22
Yeah, it's not it's not a nightmare. That's going to deliver
18:25
a good time the quickest.
18:28
You know what we could do? And we could potentially do? Seven, show seven shows, live streaming, something like that. That could be fun. Do maybe, if we do so we're going to do. We're doing 1010 days, we can do 21 episodes in 10 days. say if we like optimised for seven where we do three shows a day. We would do two guests one of us each day. Do you think that's why?
18:57
They definitely it's a nice update one of us each day, which you mean could roll it? Yeah.
19:00
So what's on trying to work out it probably you probably want to go ask guests ask guests us guest. So maybe what we could do is do three live streams over like a Monday or Wednesday and Friday or something. Can I
19:16
do one at the Santa Monica Pier? No. And nighttime.
19:20
on the bed? Yeah, I have it in the back. Are you googling? I just couldn't remember what it was called. It was nice. Yeah.
19:28
Question for you. Your hair. Can we go? He's an idea.
19:34
Jesus. Yes.
19:37
What were you What are you doing? Could we
19:39
get right right for today? He's fucking amazing at doing like a flag. Now. She does like shit like, you know.
19:51
The US flag. Really?
19:58
Like to celebrate your birthday? What is that? Like? Because we land so we fly at 9am? We get there like whatever. Nine a sec. Maybe? Not the morning. Yeah. So you rock in? like seven or eight? Yeah, it's like 600 on your birthday. So we actually get mostly birthday
20:13
there. And what do you want to do?
20:15
What do you do, baby?
20:18
I mean, I'd like to go see the pier. Maybe that's when we do the live stream from the pier. Okay.
20:22
Yeah, we could do that. Yeah, right. Straight from the airport. Right from the airport to the pier.
20:27
Because it's not so really like early morning, you think?
20:30
Is it morning or nighttime? Or we flying very early can you
20:33
get there's a good app, I'm trying to remember the name, but it's an app or website. Sorry, website could pick up web app. It's it. You can put in a time, time and date within a specific country. And then you can work out what the other one is called, like over time or something I can't remember. But what I'm curious about is you could dial in right now 6am in LA, oh, sorry. Say nine I am in LA. Know, if we if we get in like 655 630 or whatever it is. Then you allow like an hour and a half of fucking around. By the time you get out of the airport. So to say like 830 that are? Can we play sort out the licences and make sure car rentals?
21:22
We actually Uber I think it's everywhere. Yeah, I think we Uber everywhere. Okay, paying stress and driving crashes.
21:29
I actually it's funny. I thought Uber and then I changed my mind. Like, just then I was like, how are we getting there? Yeah, so we can Uber to Santa Monica. And then set up like a livestreaming do that. That'd be cool.
21:41
Yeah, very cool.
21:44
Does your mom have a say about whether you go or not? Is she gonna say so? 97 she's actually started calling it Mr.
21:51
Na? Nana think so Mr. 9797 nine said you haven't got that yet?
21:57
Yeah. What about from the rest of the family? A dog the dog?
22:04
What we going to say? It felt like you felt like you were gonna say something.
22:08
Are you allowed to go? No.
22:10
No, well, yeah, it'll be fine. But Mom Mom will lose two kids cuz Sam's in China and I'll be in
22:15
LA. Now Sam finding China. Wife is either
22:20
do not much of a pain in the ass it is doing so WeChat
22:23
we on your phone? Ah,
22:25
what do you mean? It's horrendous. You need someone who's been on the app for like, three months or something to verify you. I'm sure we could hook you up. It's it's already happened.
22:33
You're done? Yeah, turn would be Karen would be.
22:37
I had to message home from school
22:39
system school.
22:40
Actually, mom went through one of our family friends who got their daughter to message her friend and her friends account was suspended. So she got her friend to verify
22:49
is it. China or what?
22:52
Yeah. So if you live in China, you can just download Yeah, you can bang
22:56
and you Only you only get like 12 yet like 12 things a year or something like that. So you can only 12 messages he told people you can only add into the app. You've got one a month. That's horrendous
23:08
WeChat I'm pretty sure I'm on WeChat it's it's a I would
23:11
have thought they would want as many people on there as possible. Now. Think about how much the government wants to collect data, right?
23:19
So I want to connect it back to people so the thing is that you would actually be connected. You're probably like six degrees of separation from a Chinese citizen. So you all of a sudden start spying or doing some shit. They can be like whoever your friends friends friends who's from China. They could be like you
23:40
Yeah, it's amazing that they've locked it down like it's it's so full on try get into it until you've got it now
23:45
I've got it now I've spoken to Sam or no
23:48
no, well actually mums logged into my account.
23:51
This is a weird thing about your family love sharing accounts. Yeah.
23:58
The thing is I mom hasn't got our own because she tried to get a verified but it didn't work. So we had to do my account instead
24:04
or the other sign up. I'm literally saying a wise man asking me that over Facebook. And then you sent it you had this conversation? It turns out it wasn't your mom wasn't it?
24:14
Are you know, because James, he lost his phone at rolling again stolen. And so he put he's using mum's old phone but I've still got her old phone in my phone numbers her phone. So she's got her new phone and her old phone in my contact details.
24:27
I mean, I'm still trying to think about that connection for the Wi Fi now but then there's a friend of a friend on that.
24:33
It's interesting, isn't it? Maybe we could do that if we ever had some form of gronk squad type of thing like it something more official
24:42
if the ads you have to add your mate into it or
24:44
no, I think yeah, if you want like you need to know someone almost like a golf membership. You need to have someone sign you. Yeah. So if I
24:53
actually I can't say you can't use this
24:56
as a say,
24:56
yeah, someone who's a member, someone has to put you forward. Okay. So
25:03
maybe I sign up now. You want to resign. It
25:06
could be funny. It could be funny. I'm gonna pay. You know, it could be funny to see if within the 10 years of this show, you actually land the membership.
25:15
Is it solid, or as a 16 years? That's
25:17
not it just took me 17 years it took my brother longer. So just like it's about some of the oldies have to die, like they can't give more memberships. They just literally just move on to see allocation of seats. So it is well if every MCC member went there because it's like yeah, yeah. Yeah. Anyway, I'm pumped. Yep. It's there's something energising about locking something in just
25:43
the way you should?
25:44
Yep, yep, not nice pump.
25:46
It just it's just the same pump. I feel like a main to 97 of it made him
25:52
your guy. I mean, he stole your idea about
25:56
wanting to be creative. Yes, I know. You've got the ideas and you just it's actually bit rude.
26:01
What about like, what comes to mind when you think of America Mr. Nice ever.
26:08
I like hot dogs and stuff. Yeah, great. We'll get some of those. What I mean, but I feel like that's more New York.
26:14
You know what, if you want to go to New York, you can find another podcast? Why you say
26:20
New Yorker? When you ask willing and challenged and safe that I'll take you like a path of some ungrateful little.
26:29
Where else do you want to go?
26:33
Can you imagine this guy? What he's gonna be like with sunscreen?
26:36
Neither UV is actually okay over there.
26:41
Because they don't have a hole in the
26:41
ocean. Yeah, anywhere else. Come on.
26:45
Live rather than LA. If you had to pick somewhere. If we couldn't go to LA we had to pick somewhere else. Where would you go?
26:54
I mean, Washington looks CZ so ungrateful.
27:01
We're not going to
27:05
go, yeah. You just stepped into the Washington,
27:08
Washington. You don't really look at the
27:10
USA like when's the US elections by the way?
27:14
Great. Can you just write a great time for make the daily talk show graphic?
27:23
2020. Yeah, there's something else happening. Maybe what's it called the same in terms of elections? Yeah.
27:30
Did they? Did they start campaigning? I mean, they became banning Now, a lot of them?
27:35
Well, because I think they were saying isn't that the whole thing? Donald Trump won't go and go to war with Iran for the next three months because he's trying to do business.
27:46
But don't know what I'm talking about boss.
27:48
What do you do in that season? diamond or whatever?
27:51
What's happening on the impeachment ship? Yeah,
27:54
now I'm pretty sure. It's not definitely not mid term.
27:58
I maybe it's some sort of of the have no idea decides to make Danny like
28:03
sidestepping when I know maybe
28:05
it is the midterms, the 2019, United States elections will be held in a large part on November 5 2019.
28:13
We're gonna be there for that.
28:16
Yeah, that'd be great. But I'm confused about it. Can you get some clarity?
28:21
around what what they actually do know around the fact that you said it was 2020? Now you saying it's 2019?
28:27
Oh, hang on. So yeah, cuz you see, Trump is like, make America great again. 2020, maybe it's like, you're getting normed for that. Because in 2020, there will be a new growth mode saying, I'm saying I'm saying and I'm sure he's not saying that.
28:44
Anything money serves.
28:46
state elections happened 2019. There's also some federal.
28:52
It's an interesting,
28:52
I don't know anything about politics. But the only thing that I heard, you know how there's the popular vote,
29:00
when we're,
29:01
so there's 97, our need you to look up this, why the popular vote doesn't win election. Okay, so the popular vote, a bunch of presidents have won the popular vote, and the popular vote is based on everyone that is voted within the country. That person one, right. And so, in the case of Donald Trump versus Hillary Clinton, I believe Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. However, I was watching on some podcasts or whatever this is like, this is gronk education right now, because there's huge gaps. But the reason why a bunch of the states have a higher sway on the election. So they've got like, they hold more states, you know, swing swing states, states that could go Democrat or Republican. Right. So swing state could be our we don't know which one it's going to land on, I think. But my understanding is that what happened was, you know, how those like the I don't know, I'm talking about but basically, there was the Texas and all that sort of thing. We're almost like their own countries or whatever. And when they all became sort of United, there was the rule around those states would actually get more power in regards to voting. I don't know if that's true. Can you find that is that's a that's a big thing for him to decipher. And there's there's a massive core article. It's literally like three pages. Its massive. Can you find out the crux of it? Yeah.
30:49
Should be a button decipher place anyway, when
30:52
you don't think they said like the slave states or whatever. So the places where there was like all the slavering shit going on. They I'm trying to remember what that was in. But that just blew my mind. And I want to know more about that. The reason I'm telling you this is so you email me email in and you tell me what I'm meant to be saying.
31:10
Yeah. is present the proper present the damn problem, and then someone solves it. So when I last was going years ago, 2012 great time has been a great year to be travelling to the US. Very good. Yeah. Fuck with $1 the moment by the way, and looked at that.
31:27
Probably 50 cents, man. What would it be? 73 cents. 971. Yeah. What is it? 6868. Yeah, that's gonna that's gonna
31:38
sting. Sting. Good evening. We'll go
31:42
light in the merge. Merge will be fine. Yeah, we just get it in Australia.
31:46
Yeah, good. Okay. So I didn't really like research I wanted to it was like when I was into making little videos never made this video. But I remember researching this is the cookie sheet you can find it wouldn't fly in today's age. But there was a part like a they call them I like the dive bars are like the sports bars over there. They don't. It's not like pubs here. There'll be different. But I wanted to go this one where they did turtle racing on Wednesday nights.
32:13
You know, I think they'll do that. Now.
32:14
I don't know if that dude, racing small little animal.
32:17
We need to find all the novelty things. There's places like Obviously, we've been to the best convenience store in the world. Yeah. But there is. I know there's a guy who's obsessed with sodas, and he's got every type of soda in the world in this one big store where you know when we fire somewhere in the US, right? Yeah.
32:39
So the point being is missing I seven, putting putting your producer hat on America? It's Land of the great they say but it's all it is. The population in Los Angeles is ridiculous. How many hundred couple hundred million in the state of California?
32:57
No, no, no. Is it? I like the I thought the population of
33:03
255 million in the US. Yeah. 200 million. So the state of California How many?
33:09
parking right
33:10
80 million in California. And then you bring it in already. So for you then you go to the the Los Angeles Los Angeles for male.
33:18
So that's about the same as
33:20
Melbourne, three about the state of California has double the point almost I think
33:25
we're almost five mil here,
33:27
almost double the population. Either way, but I think the this the mass population within the country drives this kind of quirky nature of it, too.
33:36
There's something also funny about us just like educate like, we don't know about anything. Yeah, like teaching the gronk everything they need to know about California. Oh, that's a good way. We should go set like we'll do LA. We're not far from San Diego. I'll do a quick draw. Like we could get a car for a short period of time and do some sort of drive drive late at night. See miss that bumper to bumper traffic?
34:03
Tara? You drive it? Yeah, it's hot. I mean, it's just always traffic in LA.
34:09
I don't mind a bit of traffic.
34:10
Yeah, but it's still time that we don't we can't be Polka.
34:13
What are you finding? 97? What do you
34:16
know, I'm just looking up like a San Fran.
34:20
I think he wants you want to go to San Fran,
34:22
you want to go to LA? We got in Los Angeles, you know where the other thing that I was looking at was the underground tunnels in LA,
34:28
as in the most boring. There's actually like
34:34
tunnels that were built for corrupt city officials.
34:37
I caught maybe something to do with the what's the alcohol? You know, not not having alcohol. What's it called? Yeah, I think
34:45
that's the name of it. Before the prohibition prohibition. Yeah,
34:49
maybe. Maybe there's something 97 where
34:52
he'll come back and say, I just want to do Runyon Canyon.
34:56
Good. We should do that. Yeah, we'll do running. I think this is something we could do every day for the next month. 97 you need to teach us something about Los Angeles. Okay.
35:11
And it's really good fact. Can't be about New York, and it can't be. Okay. It has his today is in 1947 the first helicopter ML and express service happened on this day in LA in La YS, di di Yeah, as in October
35:29
1. And so when we when you were doing the fact that the kitchen went by year, and it started like 1600 so just took me a while. nothing was happening in the West Coast that I
35:41
hang out. You've got a list that just tells you by year something Yeah, in every in every country, so I just had to find this. I can give you in 1891 Stanford University opened. Wow,
35:55
we should do it. Go to a university UCLA. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, go on.
36:01
We should definitely say Spencer from ubiquity is
36:05
Casey nice that Yeah, in Santa Monica. So we're us. We live down the border half
36:12
1948 California Supreme Court void state statute banning interracial marriages. They banned state statute banning interracial marriages so it was you couldn't interracial marriage or they reckon none and I reckon they made a decision that went against the banning of interracial marriages, which is good. Let's get some fucking
36:37
Yeah, one other thing.
36:40
Last one, get it a bit more. Get it closer to
36:42
sort of that's literally the lighting 87
36:45
Yeah. 87 idea. Like the only 90
36:47
days Why don't we do one for a wife and 19 it's not gonna be in LA.
36:53
Well, what happened on November 1 in 1988? in Lhasa and November, October, November Sorry, I mean, October the day that we're going
37:07
November I see what november november one Okay.
37:10
What you did you want my birthday in 1988 19? Anything special? Maybe there's some cool Hollywood shit happening.
37:20
Doing 1990
37:21
After all, should we do I am an episode. We could just hire a camera person with an E movie to do by walking walking down. Hollywood Boulevard. That's good fun. That'd be cool. Just someone want to segue? A movie operator on a Segway? A movie offer on it now because it can be going backwards. You need to operate the movie.
37:44
I wonder what it would cost for us to do one of those things legit?
37:48
Yeah, I mean, I cost us a couple hundred bucks to get a movie operator with a CD but they're not going to be able to walk. We say we'll miss 97 will likely have his back and just like slowly slowly walk it's you just kind of mosey on down
38:01
for 30 minutes night.
38:04
You've seen how hard some of those people work in Los Angeles for federal money
38:09
i think that i think it would be fun to do a fast paced walk rose something mounted on something else a bike even Anyway, I've had the What about we get the unicycle
38:19
now but then we
38:20
have the Avella know we use the unicycle you can't
38:23
ride you suck as you know I can
38:25
What do you mean what does that actually mean? Oh no no he's fact it
38:31
sorry my I can ride a unicycle.
38:34
One of it one of three Can Can you ride one? Yeah, Josh. You say me? Bullshit. No. Yes.
38:39
Very only for a few second now. Looks like he's gonna hurt himself.
38:45
Yeah, there's nothing interesting.
38:47
What is it called? What am I try cycle?
38:49
No, no, no, try school. No. tandem bike. tandem bike? I think the tandem bike thing would be a fun episode.
38:59
Or the year again two minutes ago.
39:01
No, I was against a uni sock on gronk
39:06
so trice What's it called?
39:09
No, I not a tricycle.
39:10
Yeah. I don't think it's a try cycle as well. I think it's a try for sure. icicle and we'll try school on the big ones. Yeah, but not a try.
39:20
Nana it's got two wheels at the back and one of the
39:23
penny farthing Bach. Yeah.
39:25
You just cooked it all.
39:26
The way we'll do one on a bike, potentially. Penny farthing would be great to have the
39:32
guy that rides around. It's so big. Is it a noisy thing? No. It'd be it'd be 10 foot to the top of this guy's wheel. He's up so high. It looks so
39:43
dangerous. Really?
39:45
I mean, what I'd be worried if I was his father.
39:49
I think what other things anyway, if you got any ideas like hi at the daily talk show.com or the fear of Ryan?
