Show Episode 323. What's going on? I just sniffed before we started. I think it's fun. I think it we missed it. How are you feeling? Just the two of us at the desk
0:16
today, right? This feels like it's been forever, but it hasn't. Two days ago. Monday we did our own episode. But I think as much as I love people coming onto the show, I do enjoy a bit of banter between you and I
0:29
just chillin out.
0:31
I mean, what if what does everyone think hard the daily talk show.com is our email it let us know what you've been what you've been thinking about the amount of guests we've had. or hang on guys got a message from my mom. I asked if we can go to have a dinner
0:46
way as in May as well. What do we
0:48
do? You're not coming right? I have another baby. There I go and attend two in the afternoon. That's my son. And then my wife and I look after that child
0:57
and so what?
0:58
Seven and I look after you, Mom said Yeah, that'd be lovely. What time What do you think you'll have? Or you know, it's pretty safe. It's pretty safe bet sort of just guessing what will happen mom and dad's because
1:11
it's either if it was my mom and dad would not chose to go to for
1:18
I think it's a go to bed. He got me
1:21
well with the I think now nachos a nice and easy
1:24
he's doubling down. What do you say that? like chicken schnitzel rolls, some form of meat. Really nice salad grated up beetroot and lots of different stuff. So yeah,
1:37
she's always ready for the idea that you might come to
1:42
look their place. Their fridge is stocked better than mine. And so there is always food at the table, which is lovely. It's
1:48
always been the way we're doing Molly spoon soon. That's good. I mean, it's already pretty easy facts The reason I know is because breeze already put in the calendar cancel Molly spoon.
1:58
What from the free trial? Yeah. Yeah.
2:01
Is it true? Was it you? That was friends of mine? Yeah. basically doing like the 50% off on. What's the other one?
2:12
You can go to fresh, fresh. Hello Fresh. Yep. That was good. I think we've got it. We've got such a good rhythm now of prepping on Sundays. And having so much frozen stuff that you end up just when you can't be bothered for a week. You've actually got all your frozen stuff prepped. Anyway, only get away from photo. I was always thinking we so we just that wasn't a brand we did live. Yeah. Yeah.
2:34
Why do you do it like that? He just sort of he had his fingers on because I was trying to elaborate. It looks really awkward. If you're watching Mr. 97. disappointed if you my hand. My high five. We do have a YouTube channel where all of our videos go. Because this podcast is also everyone listens. We get a lot of listeners. Yeah, but it'd be nice to get some more YouTube views. Yes, we would.
2:55
We just officially signed the lease.
2:58
Stamp bang.
3:00
Belize is on the list to the new building. We were paid the deposit. Which
3:04
Did you I'm about to reveal something it's a slightly unprofessional. Yeah, the real estate agent said now you read the lace? Yes. I said yes. This is Dawn you reading it? Are you
3:16
ready? My it is a big problem. The amount of emails that come through that I'm also a part of but you just don't rate
3:25
allow the negativity and
3:28
activity that's bonding is for two years plus the extension of potentially three more My thing is
3:36
isn't that a good trust exercise? I'm like, if you're cool with it, I'm cool with it.
3:39
Actually, it's empowering in terms of going well, if I am going to be the only one writing this I need to be safe in and certainly myself that I've that we've done the right thing. And I always get my old man to look over here.
3:55
Old man, like the real estate agent said all Was there anything that you weren't sure run with the lice and I just your upstairs, Tommy, Tommy, a bit of that.
4:05
It's a baby act. It's fine. It's fine. But no, we've signed it. And it's already did. And I feel like we've got such a great opportunity. But I was thinking and I mentioned this to Craig hopper saying
4:21
as we are the School of Seth Godin reading all these books and you know, understand these principles and stuff, the thought of being picked and picking yourself we've talked about Tyler silly on the show, but I had a moment the other day when we did pay the lease pay the deposit and the feeling of we're doing this and I'm driving home I got some good music on and I'm feeling fucking I'm rushing
4:46
was not the
4:48
one that is my song
4:50
50 cent don't get taught you live is
4:53
it gives me tingles. I think it's from cheaper by the dozen the movie I just remember like I just imagine being in the car. And when that song zone I just imagined a drone shot following me. It was 50 cent on the man
5:05
says very different. Mr. 97 nights that's that. He's more of my camp. I'm a man. I'm the I'm the man. I'm the man
5:15
because it's a little bit more Sergio friend. Hi. Little bit more fan features in it's a more team.
5:21
What psycho to do with anything Chris is in it's a there's two people seeing you on the song. It's kinda, it's good. Anyway, with us, man. Anyway, I was thinking back to Chris Brown. That's what you're saying? I you know, CRISPR Definitely not. But that moment where we've decided we've picked ourselves a pretty hefty lace
5:43
for the next five years, or you did
5:46
you're a guarantor on a second. I did
5:49
hear that.
5:52
But what's the worst what's the worst that could happen?
5:54
We go bankrupt missing only seven be counting takes a lot to get bank. Of course, nothing made. We're in a good place. It's all good. The moment and as I've said, The, that moment of we've picked ourselves to do this. And it's a big responsibility. So there's no fucking saying you you can't say you're a banker for saying is because it's, we've actually got a lot more pressure now. That's, that's what you say people were taking from me saying, We've got this is like, that is the lease. And all of this is actually just more pressure that we're ready to take. So
6:24
it's like when someone buys a house or whatever. It's like, you could be like, I might congratulate, you know, congratulations, you bought a house or you're committed to paying your
6:32
mortgage. But I think we're committing to our vision. Anyway, the feeling that I got from that which is picking itself. I was thinking about a time where I've been picked, like I won that competition to go and live in LA for a couple of weeks in that house.
6:44
living out I don't know if I say okay, I didn't live in LA when you went on a fucking holiday. I was living
6:51
a second email. I
6:54
went Hey, said living in LA for two weeks. Yeah, he doesn't
6:58
read a fucking tract for a five year lease. But he picks apart my fucking words. All right.
7:05
It was funny, though, because I remember that was a big thing when Hey, mission. So we went to New York. So planning on going for like six weeks, the same time brain I were in Europe. And the media would like it was literally like they had said like, we're just going over there for a little bit. But when they came home, the way that the articles are written was like, they come back home as if they were like,
7:27
okay, so I went over their first day of safer f3 in a bit weeks. Okay. The point being, I remember the feeling when I got that phone call. I was in the gym. And this person calls me and says, Hello, Tommy. I said hello. She said it's a blah blah blah from what's that talent management side that big one standout status Boucher from now it was a competition through star now to when the trip to LA, all expenses paid. Tiff is a major update your style now? Definitely,
8:01
definitely. I think there's a delayed
8:05
direction I could get a star now.
8:06
I've got a lifetime membership. It was a part of the competition. I want a lifetime membership you to pay for that shit. Anyway.
8:14
She says maybe how would you like a joint? Now, like married people have Facebook account? We can do that? Can you read the contract have absolutely no terms and conditions. So we probably won't get it.
8:25
But I just remember her telling me now. I need to let you know that you've won. And I just remember the feeling of that. And I was
8:37
I'm a man, I'm a man. I'm a man. I'm a not a good man.
8:40
It's definitely not that that's not how that song goes. I'm the man. I'm
8:45
the man and the man.
8:47
Anyway, and if I bring those two feelings out of my thought, you know, thinking back on both of those feelings, yeah. I've realized that picking yourself and being picked, have the same feeling when they happen. Yeah. But one, you're in a lot more control. So if you're vying to be picked, you can get the same feeling that you'll get by doing it yourself as well. The fact wouldn't you put the control back in your hand.
9:14
Well, there is something cool about like, there's a little bit more chance maybe missing it seven. Have you had any phone calls that you remember where it's like, where it's been intense. You've won so you
9:26
never never won anything?
9:30
I don't
9:30
know that I can remember you when you look at yourself in the mirror. Do you see yourself as the guy who wins stuff? Now? Do you see yourself as a guy that doesn't win stuff? Is that how you identify? Now it's water? I think I don't put myself in a position to win stuff
9:45
like I do. I just go and do it. You say you pick. Yeah. Yeah.
9:50
Okay. I had a big win.
9:56
Virgin Australia, they velocity program. 2011. Yeah, that'll doing you know, I've been obsessed with frequent flyer points. Yeah, though, doing double status. So status you only get for people who haven't gotten into the frequent flyer game. You have points. And then you have status credits. You only get status credits when you fly. Status credit. So the only way that can contribute to getting to when you hear people saying I'm gold or platinum. They're doing that through status credit. You can't do that through buying shit up calls. You can flybys, you can get 10, but it's not going to
10:32
move there. Yeah, so if you had a shitload of
10:35
points, because status, it just would mean you never fly. You will somehow Yeah, exactly. You should have
10:40
set up a credit card or whatever. And so I'd gotten the, the, they were doing double status credits. So I had that and I had some trips to Brisbane and what so thing managed to get gold. And then through doing flying as gold, you get like 100% extra points. Yeah, that makes sense. And so before you knew it, I had like, over 50,000 points. And there was a competition where they basically said,
11:12
you can you can you can buy stuff on the virgin on the velocity website through the website. You can buy through money, or you can buy things through points. Yeah. People never buy like you'd hear this. You never buy anything with points because it's like, the toaster that you can buy. You could also just get like a flight to LA with it. I know one day actually no Sunday,
11:33
my wife really. She buys all cuz she's never flying. And she doesn't end she had a card connected to something that got her.
11:41
She's really like backup. Guess what I want? It's like you think you're in LA? Got a two piece toaster?
11:49
No, she got a steamer. Government steamer. What the fuck are you using? Yeah, because I haven't gotten out of the box yet. There will be some way I don't even take it at once. And now it's
11:58
you think about it. Let's one of those things that in the commercial realm yet that you really wanted
12:04
us back in. You'll be eating your words when she buys us a waffle machine for the office.
12:09
From our How much would a waffle machine lt cost
12:11
30 bucks.
12:13
Free through the points there. But the thing is, if you got like a credit card or whatever, in Australia, you probably paying 125 bucks for the fucking annual fee.
12:22
So I had, but I read the terms and conditions. Yeah. And what the terms and conditions said is $1 equals one entry into the competition to win potentially, one person would win a million points. Yeah, five people would win 100,000 points, right. So it's $1 one entry. And so if you bought something for say, you could buy a pair of shoes or whatever for a couple hundred dollars. Yeah, that would give you 200 entries. That's pretty good. But this is what I did. Yeah, you couldn't It was also one point using one point equals one entry. And so what I did is I use my 50,000 points. And I subscribed to make this as 2011 I subscribe to magazines like desktop magazine at Macworld
13:09
with magazine. Interesting, so
13:11
I spent $50,000 on like the side of 50,000 points. Yeah. 50,000 points. So Dawn's
13:16
Yeah. 30,000 points. How many dollars Do you think it would have made me like 50,000 points? So
13:20
probably. I probably spent maybe it's hard to tell because it would have been like credit cards and stuff. Maybe let's just say it would be worth it. If I was to cash that in for a voucher. Yes. On virgin. I think it would have been like $700 right. And so I spend all of my money on the subscriptions. Anyway, I got a phone call from Virginia. I couldn't believe it. I had beat the system. I get a call and they're like, I Josh just like you know, you've won 100,000 points. Amazing. And so anything that they did they lead with that today. Yeah, it was it was very casual. Fucking set. Right. I just like straightaway went into I knew it. And I told him I liked it. The whole thing. I said everyone's been doing this and this is what I did. So I was really proud.
14:04
Did they respect it? Or without like, fact we're gonna stop that. That's it.
14:09
Now there's like there's bargain, which is big. I'm sure I was back when was around. Yeah, but I was bargain. Where you can have deals. That'd be a lot of sort of prize pigs that have worked. Yeah,
14:18
all of these. There is legit prize beats that stay at home trying to work at competitions. Did you? So in terms of that feeling you've got? Have you experienced that? In the times that you've really picked yourself? You know, you've done? I've done this? Yeah,
14:32
I'm sure. I like I feel it with the office, you know? Yeah, I'm walking around the office getting excited.
14:37
How do you feel Mr. 97? About the office? Yeah, it's exciting. I mean, I haven't been in it yet. But yeah, yeah. Yeah,
14:43
we've seen the video. And you've been holding down the fort while we're out. But I think that I get it with I get real jittery when it comes to buying things when being a bit silly with money. Yeah. So the problem is that picking myself winning things, making good decision. Yeah, really bad decisions, or give me the same sort of tingle. So sometimes say with the office, I get that little tingle. All this is. And so the hard thing is it's like this is either really good or really bad. Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah, it's like buying a car or something. If
15:18
you feel good, I mean, we're excited about more responsibility would you say which is why when I identify the feeling of winning something for nothing? Is the same it's like it The feeling is the same so it's like where it's just what has it has that work internally like it's just a release with found a gateway to turn on some sort of rush of endorphins?
15:42
So to explain this officer there's three if you missed it we spoke about on a previous episode. Tommy describes it as three floors, which you've now Yeah, I've got another one of the bottom is the garage ground floor the garage the middle floor? Yeah, he's the studio so it's just going to have we're going to have like a wall not too dissimilar to the last cam wall which yet By the way, you took me on a bit of a journey on the way home
16:10
I took you on a good old fashioned palette hand which is what I did for this when I built this I was searching high and low around the suburbs, saying you know like factories and stuff and asking guys at the front line night would I be able to take one of these pallets show my no problem so I got all of this for free
16:28
I didn't pay for us into that world well so we were going you were sending me on sort of a different route. Yeah, and then a couple of guys stopped us and said Oh, there's no through road here you can access
16:39
the walkway does your heart start racing when I said are you good I
16:42
now I was fine because they were wearing there was something that looked like a franchise business. People with logos don't seem as scary
16:49
people in uniform Yeah, do we need uniform to lower the anxiety level of passive boss isn't
16:55
like light it was a light blue uniform sort of look like they could be selling like spy like filters
17:02
here. Pool filters Yeah, you're a
17:05
bit of that vibe.
17:06
Well, I I think they looked like not not rough around the edges like some traders can come across but they look like people who use their hands but also could go to a business lunch on the same in the same attire.
17:20
They had off about four Utah with decals on him a big business so we Tommy asked, Can we have some pallets we're building this sort of thing. And they said are you can have any of those new looking ones which are ugly. And then you said what about those blue ones? And they said no, that's last cam ship. So yeah, and they said and you're like oh, we can't have them they said no, if you actually take them it's $150,000 fine from last camp. Which I mean 150 300
17:55
we can't afford this fucking building got about a million dollars worth of fines on the wall
18:01
no chance you can fucking just sit this rule out and have it nowhere online and just Chinese whispers we could
18:09
literally put something I could put my phone on the ground and we could say the $150,000 fine if you take my phone
18:16
yeah and then we just seek legal action yeah hard on this enjoying it so did that deter you? What are we now I like it I like it. I didn't think we need to go as hard as we have with the sort of big thick lows cam ones and no go around here now we can no no pain I say on this podcast. Yeah. But yeah, I reckon someone at the company's told somebody else and it kind of just like Chinese was going around and it's an it's just now these guys who we see that didn't really back it up with like, well it's official in the site that it says this Bo
18:51
Messina looking on your phone
18:53
just look up $150,000 in
18:55
sales. Can you say anything about that?
18:58
I can't find anything about 150 thousand dollars but there's a compensation rate of $26 50
19:03
per pallet all caught that? How many pounds we got here, bro? I $26 invoices, GST, text, texting plus GST factor gotta we gotta do it.
19:16
Now. So I think
19:17
this is there is furniture. There's sites online selling all pallets. And so I've done this time I've because we need to go pretty hard on finding a bunch of new timber for the for the wall. And we're going to sort of build out the new space offense so many than giving them away. You just got to come pick him up. So I think any dad's got to you. This is where Yeah,
19:37
this is where you shine. Why is this partner? Your dad with these huge? I need to plan something.
19:43
It's me with the contract. It's me with the year and the dad. Where are you shouting, bro?
19:48
I was watching a lot of YouTube videos on how the podcast studio was going to look. Now
19:53
I appreciate that. Well, I feel like if
19:56
if real estate agents could do like a video, like the music contracts, what you need to know. Because there is something in like contracts where you meant to make it easy to
20:06
like, you can't you can't bury the lead. You can't bury the thing that's going to say as soon as you get these keys. Yeah. And you enter. There's another 5% increase on you.
20:15
But the biggest concern we had was internet because we're going to start live streaming the show soon. Yes. And so what they what they do in Australia we have the NB n
20:24
which National Broadband Network,
20:26
which has just been an absolute joke. I don't understand I understand it politically.
20:31
Look at the dollar number that they've spent on the NBA and 56 billion get stuffed 56 billion they've spent Yeah. That's that's the whole budget for all the NBA. I don't know one person. That's my
20:44
monthly cost in my building.
20:46
That said, the NBA is amazing. Like,
20:50
Trevor long does. He's always I don't know why he's always defending the NBA.
20:54
Tree. If you got seven phones, you get seven SIM cards, probably data on that what's God like? You can? Yeah,
21:00
it does. It's because the thing is that it's like I think that a lot of people will can get like 25 megabits per second, I want to talk about too much because I know, I've seen Trevor on Twitter, and he absolutely slams people who talks about
21:14
like, this is the way we're a business that actually relies heavily on the internet. And if we are at the sort of lower end of that business structure that's relying heavily and it can't support us
21:26
what the fuck
21:27
we're small business big, big big man even though we're small business in Australia, so if mid sized business like small businesses are up to like 40 employees or something some ridiculous number that still classed as a small business so how how does that work? Yeah, can the internet infrastructure support that
21:45
so we don't get the NBA and so the NBA has got a whole rollout plan in Abbotsford where on your office is going to be hasn't come to this specific straight and so we have a third party company that came today and and they basically what they going to do that it was the inspection but they put a dish on the on the roof and they pointed at an apartment block where they run all of the fiber and they get a push this like a 75 megabit connection.
22:18
And so what does it do? It's actually just casting a signal that then shares the internet. Yeah,
22:23
I think I think you will
22:25
you should know an idea what are you bringing to the
22:28
table? I'm just making sure I asked the right question were you impressed by my question? I was I was I is that a cat five cable yeah
22:36
well there's a lot and then you then you told the real estate agent my cat five he's just walking out going to fucking bring animals to this place
22:46
is he bringing five cat he's gonna speak to the owners if they bring in five cats. They blew What are these cats? They like the long and skinny What the
22:58
I love that you sometimes over over technophiles the word but
23:02
you absolutely not Lord,
23:03
but you you make stuff so technical for some people using some words I just say difficult.
23:10
What? What am I like in those official situations? I shook even though
23:15
this is great because Boris has fucking no no one knows
23:17
who Boris is. Iris
23:18
is the guy from the internet service company. Right? Exactly. Who you think borrows would be had like a Russian accent? I was like sobbing in Serbia, Serbia. I was like, dude, you fit the Boris mold. Yeah, perfectly. I need some bars is going yeah. That was a new one. Boris. That was like, Yes. barrios Baris. And it was like amazing I love No accent.
23:42
It was amazing. And I was like fuck, he was happy and he's like new shit.
23:45
Barroso sorry I was impressed lightning broadband virus is a key part. Yeah, cuz he was just like because I always expect for those types of things that it's always bad news I'm if How often do you go to an inspection? Yeah, he's an inspection ever good. You know to me house inspections like this that it's a virus was waiting for us born he was like, is like I can say the town from here. It's a boy it's
24:14
like All I want is to feel like the fucking goddess have gone out back. That's all you want. I think offering service to anyone as a business you just need to make people feel comfortable. Yeah, embarrass. You made me coffee.
24:28
So we had last week we've had four guests on yes, we do we have this this week we've had Nate from HP. Yep. Genevieve Genevieve day from day management. Yeah.
24:38
Now we get the boys back back with the gronk.
24:42
What's been what's the big takeaway in regards to guest Miss nice, Evan, what have you liked the most about having guests on?
24:50
Probably. Yeah, definitely. Probably just a variety of people would that we have? Like we literally went from like a clothing company.
24:59
And then having people on last week as well. And then Genevieve just talking about the whole new generation of like, influences in social media. Yeah, yeah.
25:06
It's interesting. I wonder what it's like as a listener flipping between just asked to and the guests because they seem like different shows. Do you think? Yeah, yeah. But I like doing these shows as much as I like both. Yeah, we've talked about doing seven days. It there's a bigger case for it. Now I just make a
25:24
case now that we have more people like me than you space, we're going to have just a revolving door of friends of the show.
25:30
Was this a big stretch when it so before? big media company you had your own business godfather is being taught which was in the space. What I like about this new space is this is like me coming into this one was a little bit like your boyfriend's got a got a house and you just sort of coming in? It's like, what's yours now too? And it's like, are you stuff there and take down your ex like the photo of your packs? Which was the logo. This is nice, because it's a joint is we both? I mean, you looked at the contract, I signed the contract. Yeah,
26:02
I you know what, like, as much as there's a lot of people saying business partnerships are hard. And I'm sure there's a percentage sheet and there's hard times for us. But but in the so
26:15
I was gonna say there is so many there is this week, I feel like there's been moments where it's like, we I think there's we have conversations, but in feel some of them is scary. Yeah. And, you know, one of them was just about the state of the economy and businesses willing to spend money and stuff, you know, money budgets going down, you know, from what they used to call it. But I think that this, these conversations that when you are a solo operator, and if you are one, I've been one, so I fucking feel for you. The conversations, if you're not like, sometimes I don't like going home and just sort of bringing it all back out with my partner. It's not the first thing I want to do, because I want to enjoy my wife's company. So it's in my head, and they solo thoughts and conversations, myself. And that's why we started this podcast because we would talk about that shit. Now as a team. It's like, we can have these conversations where it's about hard stuff, but you feel like I know, like the way Josh talked about it, and I've got my back. And I think there's sometimes where it's like, you actually need to be the stronger one out of the tone
27:16
where you're all going to have your things I think it's like I think about strategic thing. I know that you're like looking after the the contract thing but also to be honest, like even edit
27:28
the one thing that brings their business the contract. You know,
27:33
is this if anything ever happens to the office and something really bad happens if all of a sudden it turns out that with with sublet, like it's a sublease. And it's for other people in that space.
27:45
It was it was crazy simple. That's why they have to Yeah, it was it was very simple.
27:49
But I definitely think that the one thing business partners, I'm a lot more accountable. Like I'm doing like working from home. I actually like have the guild's to do work. Yeah, I used to be able to like go home and just fuck around. Yeah, just watching it right. But there is that pressure of like, even though I was like working from home this morning, I'm like Africa go in Africa. Yeah,
28:11
you know, if anything is just accountability, accountability, responsibility, and it's and it can empower you can think of this empowers you. Or you can see it to be the thing that will drive me and do the thing I don't really want to do but I know that I'm accountable to someone else. Relationships all of that like a much better this relationship make you
28:33
Yeah, if it's the right one, like absolutely I me and what rates when you're doing one order consolidated, you're only paying to 58 on
28:43
that all you could look at is like grocery my wife hundred and fighting me a better person because I'm not out drinking and being grub. I was never doing that. Yeah,
28:53
but doing your own thing. Do you know deliver now has a subscription.
28:58
I saw I saw the CEO of delivery, right this on LinkedIn. And I jumped straight onto it. I really wanted to come in, but I thought it'd be brand damaging. What did you want to say? He was saying, amazing guys, we've got innovation subscription model. And I and I read it. I was like, okay, hang on. So you're going to pay 15 bucks a month, or 25 bucks a month, whatever it is. That you then get free delivery. You still paying money. Yeah,
29:23
but if you're getting, you only need
29:25
it, but you can't like he's selling it is. Guys. It's you know what would be amazing free delivery. That's amazing. 50 paying 15 to 25 bucks just to make it out like now you get cheaper delivery. Like I get it but the people who are buying five, six meals a day through
29:45
awake through deliver route across a month have got cash. You don't have you're not buying 30 meals. You don't buy 30 meals a month, and going Oh fuck, they stuck me the five bucks each time I what I recognized differently. When I started using a burrito was part of the beta program. Yeah, a friend who worked at Uber and hooked us up. Yes. And so at the beginning Uber rate was free delivery. And they were asking, like don't ask questions and stuff. And one of them was when it started. They had to deliver to the door. Yeah. And if they didn't deliver to the door, I could complain. And now give me a $20 voucher. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the great thing was you were Yes, or no car parks at the front of our place. And so that drive and I drive around the cone, like, I'm like, I come to the door and like we can't walk down I've come my socks on pick up the food. And little did they know that I would be getting a $20 voucher. Yeah.
30:40
And none of them work for Uber anymore.
30:43
Horrible,
30:45
if you like so I read the comments section of the identity comment. Everyone else was doing it was saying what are they were just like some of the more more technical than my thinking. But there are like talking about, you know, added spending increases people's fucking expenditure on, you know, sheets that they don't know, it was interesting. And so as much as a company sells that in like, we've got this brand new thing, and I'm sure some people will utilize it. Because Still, if you've got money, I guess you don't you you've got money because you don't part with your money. It feels like always,
31:17
I would like people's opinion hind the daily talk show.com I'm going to say Uber Eats bad for local business.
31:26
I have heard that.
31:27
I'm just I think that based on you know how much Mr. 97 they take 30% 30% Commission. Yeah, 30 fuckin percent. Just imagine if every business started saying, you know what, don't use Uber will give you a flat local 15% off food. And you come into a store, you use a card.
31:48
I'm sure people have done that. I mean, this is my thought around that has been I've seen some restaurants that actually survive on it now. And I don't think it's always the right approach to go. It's it's all most like the acceptance of the base.
32:02
But it became more like this business models now around this. There's people who it's like, they spent 50 grand on a fit out on like a burger joint. And all they're using is the kitchen. And so there's like this Lisa's now where the satellite kitchens are doing really well where it's like, literally, you can't go in eight there. They just it's like races pizza in Abbotsford. They had a whole section which is like the Uber Eats orders and delivery orders were in a completely different section. And
32:35
Mr. Miyagi, a Japanese restaurant in Melbourne has its own rapidly distribution that's recently replaced a suburb recently distribution Uber rate center. So it's like a restaurant that I've set up that no go to other than Uber, its drivers. Amazing. Yeah. So so maybe it's like the acceptance. So if you're having the thought from prior to still battling against the adoption, or sort of entering the markets like Amazon, yeah, Amazon going
33:07
Yeah, well, that's what but I don't know. Like, are we going to them? Like Rob Ward, who have had on the show, co founder of quad lock, he did a post born each pig.
33:19
Right? support line
33:21
is I support local business support local beers, and I think that there's something in their direction 97 in school, was that a thing that they cared about? supporting local? Yeah.
33:31
It was huge when I was on air and shipping.
33:34
So that's how those towns survive. Yeah. Because otherwise, like there's a there's a documentary on Walmart.
33:42
And how Walmart basically town by town just ruined ruined communities, because they would go set up and then it's a PhD in is, you don't need a fish shop. You don't need you mean you don't need and so everyone's going there and they feel a little blue bling, and they've got their Walmart stuff, but it's horrendous. Business. Yeah,
34:04
so I don't know what it's going to do. But I think I think there would be if you will die because it's it's fucking lacking empathy. If you're smart.
34:15
work out how you can optimize 30% more
34:19
something really. You've got to be able to like, I guess that comes down to customer. I bought a Jimmy Changsha last night. Yeah. A beef chili.
34:30
Chili Jenga. I just love that word.
34:34
Chili chili kangaroos now, too deep fried burrito? Yes.
34:38
It's so good. But so bad. You have had one he said seven.
34:43
From his show in Mexico. I order when he's not at home. Yeah, because she's not a fan of his show in Mexico. But that meal delivered? I couldn't believe it. $30 Yeah, outrageous. You know,
34:55
we should hold lock it. I mean, then you spice we've got so many more. So much more room for microphones, the debate between two people within the same industry. So I'd like a restaurant owner
35:06
that has nothing to do with the negativity
35:08
that loves Uber thinks it's amazing. And they've optimized it for their business and someone who it has been something of a pain in the ass, I think would be no reason understand that. And hopefully settle it over delivered to me. Jenga. Yeah,
35:25
you want your last night? I think? Yeah.
35:29
That was the
35:31
time it was a long time ago. All right. Anyway, to daily talk show. Thanks for listening. Hi, the daily talk show.com. 35:54
I talked about that. I just go so a lot of celebrity posts like huge the Kardashians and stuff. If you just scroll through the instinct in the comments. First thing is get your account verified. And then you go on I sent Mr. 97 on a wild goose chase. And it found out that it was like a site run off one of those freebies where you had to pay through PayPal. I don't know the 11th
36:15
Yeah, so this was guys I'm
36:17
sorry. I'm just also getting an update from about what's Indians. What is it getting out there?
36:22
So Russ said hi fellas and Mr. Nice Evan. I saw one of the s&m footy players today posting about how he became Instagram verified. Apparently you can pay $100 and get the blue tick. Is this true? Or is this a hack? This player has gone gone as far as sticking the link on his Instagram bio keen to hear your thoughts on and would you pay the hundred dollars I recognized as an egomaniac I would pay the hundred dollars this is 100% of scam I think he's gone through a phishing site is like a click through please Instagram details on and they've taken over what footy players that
36:59
